Honestly I'm getting a little tired of skyrim Dwemer stuff by this point. If the next game is in Hammerfell, I really really hope they do something completely different with their dwemer ruins

His city has clear circuitboards, and a computer, while the fabricants show advanced robotics and even mechanical augmentations, and finally, he himself shows evidence of electrical wiring, and still more heavy cyborg mods.
Dude goes beyond the dwemer's steampunk stuff to straight up high magitek.

>>1596 You're right. However when compared to the Dwemer, Sotha Sil probably did get more caught on mundane patterns (repetitive/more primitive concepts), limiting his ability to build machines functioning on higher sub-gradients.

>>2852 My belief was that in the original version of Morrowind that spanned the mainland, he was planned to have committed suicide. MK mentioned his "death mantra" being a book that was cut or something, and said he was inspired by his interpretation of hell.

>>2853 perhaps he made a suicide pact with Almalexia only to have her back out of it at the last second.
Anonymous 11/14/14 (Fri) 16:16:36 No. 2858
>>2857 My guess for Almalexia was that she was going to go crazy like in Tribunal, and be a mid-boss you faced before Dagoth Ur. MK said he based her on his "fear of evil mothers", and said that the plot of Tribunal wasn't too far off what was originally planned.
My theory is that instead of getting Keening and Sunder from the crater citadels, you'd get them from Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Almalexia would've refused to sacrifice her divinity like Vivec planned and you'd have to kill her for it, while Sotha Sil is already dead and the real problem would be finding and surviving the Clockwork City.
Anonymous 11/14/14 (Fri) 16:27:27 No. 2862
>>2858 I would have liked it if you actually got to meet Sotha Sil. Maybe you come about the clockwork city and his creations are going wild because he's become so withdrawn and depressed he's barely paying attention to the outside world, and you come across him in the middle of his suicide ritual.
Dwemer Mods Anonymous 11/18/14 (Tue) 21:32:54 No. 3012
Can we get some Dwemer mod/content compilation here? Specially for skyrim and preferably more cultural than related to mechanics and all that shit. I actually have these mods in mind. Well, just about anything from Trainwiz (specially Spectres, Railroad). Also Morrowloot,Eastern Dwemer weapons and Morrowloot patch (LWE), Dwemer coins, dwemer beards, the dwarven weapons from HA, Dwemer Garb, The Egg of Time (collectables from Morrowind dwemer) and Dwemer axes; along with lore books from other mods. But it's never enough, fucking dwemer are nteresting as fuck. So, any suggestions? Was that dwemer magic mod even worth it?

I have a headcannon that there were 5 great Dwemer at the beginning of the 1st Era, and the greatest as Mzark. All 5 died heroically. and had towers built in their honor that lead to Blackreach.

Dwemer tech isn't just steampunk. In Skyrim you use a giant computer to decrypt an elder scroll and write it to a fucking SSD.
And Sotha Sil was a tinkering autist. Dwemer had more important things on their mind than gluing metal to animals.

Wrong on pretty much all accounts. Between the emphasis on steam, pipes, pistons, and gears, Dwemer are steampunk as hell. Compare this to the wires, circuitboards, and electricity of Sotha Sil. Sotha Sil both understood dwemer techology, and was able to improve and outdo it.
Dwemer were certainly not thinking about more important things as well. I mean, if you're talking about autism, Numidium is basically a concentrated tantrum robot. Dwemer are morons who could never see the bigger picture and wanted things to go back to the shitty old ways. Meanwhile Sotha Sil was actually reprogramming the world as it ran, shaping the future Amaranth, while the dwemer just did the metaphysical equivalent of covering their ears and going "I'M NOT LISTENING".
Dwemertech is shit, a reflection of their stagnant society and way of thinking, Sothatech beats the fuck out of it on every level.

I feel the same but I mostly blame Bethesda for not capitalizing it as well.
Overall dungeon design has suffered significantly since Daggerfall, Dwemer included. Imagine if a proper Dwemer city, that actually looked like a city instead of a dungeon, was made. It would be great. Or fuck even that Dwemer train mod is pretty cool.

Yes Sotha Sil was a cyberpunk compared to the Dwemer. But then again the Dwemer as least according to certain mods are also cyber as well.
