If the filters are unknown, (Thalmor being the only one I know) they can lead to misunderstandings as it already happened in this very thread.

Please list them here so we can discuss the potential implications.

Yes, just what I thought, it would be confusing for newfriends, and, as it changes several words to the same one, lots of tangential discussions would be impossible to have.

Too bad most people can't think ahead and just will say "lol they're funny, keep them".

You're assuming that the S_tormcloaks are objectively "good". I just picked Stormcloak because of the lexical similarities. Stormcloak are pretty much neo-n_azis so I don't see the difference(White supremacy, Skyrim is for the Nords, etc.)

Anyone who has a problem with the filters can compile their requests in this thread and I'll make some changes as long as they're appropriate.

Hasnt the entire community (besides the fetchers playing ESO) declared it non-canon and taboo? I've heard some horrible things were done that fucked up canon…

 No.4835

>>4826
To be honest, ESO's lore isn't 'that bad', well at least not as bad as people seem to make it out to be on this board. Certainly better than Oblivions lore-fuckover, though what they did to Auridon is unforgiveable.

 No.5016

For current and recent subscribers: are there still enough players kicking around to make the game worth playing? I expect the F2P thing will shake up the player counts. I just don't know how much content is group-oriented and whether there's even a big enough player base now to make running it a readily available opportunity.

 No.5048

>>5016
They're only dropping the subscriptions, you still have to pay for the game.
I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for it.

 No.5058

>>5048
I understand the cost details. I'd just like to know, at least how it stands now, what the state of the game is regarding player populations and group-oriented content.

Even at $5, I wouldn't want to pay if a lot of content is made for groups and there's no one around to do it with. Things may well be different after the subscription drop but I'm curious how it stands now at least.

Should the entire lore be ignored though? there seems to be a huge bulk that we are missing should we choose to disregard it all.

 No.5631

>>4826
No, most of the people who care about lore are going through it with a fine toothed comb to decide which should be on the garbage bin and which should be kept. This is causing yet another round of bullshit as ESO has a number of interesting books that explicitly references Kirkblade's writing and retards insist that we throw out its obvious meaning because dey no liek kurkburd

Nearly all the content, aside from the civil war battles of course, is single-player orientated. There's only one optional group dungeon in each zone, with a few more end-game ones. You used to be able to solo these by just over-leveling yourself but they scale now; so if you really want to run them you'll just have to spend a few minutes in the group finder. Or just not do them, they don't contribute anything to the main quest.

That being said, if you do wish to play socially, there's plenty of players and the game is well enough active, especially since b2p. Cyrodill battles are actually really impressive and fairly epically scaled. Standing on a battlement wall as a hundred or so of your Pactmates shoot siege weaponry at a rushing zerg of enemies is really satisfying. And the leveling is done in such a way that everyone can be effective on the battlefield.

It's actually a pretty fun an relaxing game. I despise the whole MMO progression system of leveled zones, and the whole racial alliances thing still doesn't make much sense, but ehh whatever, could be a whole lot worse. I think it's the best MMORPG that's been made, but that's not saying much considering how terrible that genre is.

Lets fucking hope so. I'm thinking if Bethesda has any Nord honor and they aren't a bunch of monye-grubbing kikes, they'll pick out the few good books, add whatever little bits of lore are good and dismiss the whole thing as a myth that may-or may-not have happened in those dark days in the 2nd era.

>combat is boring, annoying, skilless; pretty much based off of what level you are. Also, >potions are almost useless given that the stupid inventory system basically guarantees the enemy a free hit.

Not true. Maybe back around release, sure. But combat feels much smoother now.

>running away from enemies almost never works

Personal experience, I've had no problems. Maybe you need to lay off the sweet rolls, kek. Or just not run away in heavy armor.

>lock on arrows/magic and, like, a meter range

Okay, you're right on that one. But That's fairly balanced out by charging attacks to close gaps and all that.

>atmosphere is shit, barely even feels like Tamriel. Land is smothered with shit happening everywhere, Zenimax didn't even try to make the world feel big

Bull. Shit. If they've done well in any area, it's the environment. IDK if you just played in one zone you didn't like, or have retarded standards, but every zone is unique and genuinely feels like it belongs.

>Liked exploring cities in TES? Well every city in a province looks the same

With you on that, to a point. The cities in individual zones could use some different styles and whatnot, but consistency isn't always a bad thing.

>quests are awful, repetitive, and uninteresting you just want them to end. Though you basically have to suffer through every boring second if you want to level up at all

Again, horseshit. Some are silly/dull, yeah, especially in EP zones. But to blow all of them off without actually going and doing them is retarded, and you know that.

>main quest is fucking level based so I never even got to finish that shit, but from what I played, it was nothing special. Pretty much Oblivion 2: The Prequel

So?

>muh strong female characters

You mean like every goddman ES game so far? It's a fantasy world where badasses come in all races, creeds, and both genders.

>the dialogue is absolutely useless seeing as you're always given a single response (Zenimax forgot who the most important character is). You'll find yourself skipping everything npcs say

Why would you do that? Sounds like you're just impatient.

>I don't even think roleplaying is possible in this game

The vibrant and healthy RP community would like to disagree with you, especially the fine folks of TESO-rp. (http://www.teso-rp.com/home)

>4 classes

Yeah, that can get boring. But you don't even have to use your class skills. They might add more, who knows.

>exploration is impossible unless you spend hours leveling yourself up (which is fucking boring)

Yes and no. You can still go straight to zones that have higher level enemies than yourself, and explore. You just have to be a bit more careful.

>book-lore is for the most part fine but most of the in-game lore is absolute ass (fucking Auridon, holy shit)

Might have to be a bit more specific there.

>game has been out for a year; still consists of only about 50% of Tamriel

Agreed. (Content supposedly coming SoonTM after console release cools down.)

>If you think they fucked up Mannimarco in Oblivion, they buried him in this game. Mine as well name him EVIL ELF WIZARD OF DARKNESS. Truly saddening

Well I'm certainly not going back to try it out

>Personal experience, I've had no problems. Maybe you need to lay off the sweet rolls, kek. Or just not run away in heavy armor.

Enemies with swords have ridiculous reach, and you can't dodge arrows. It basically makes it so that you mine as well fight to death than take your chances running away.

>But That's fairly balanced out by charging attacks to close gaps and all that.

Balanced or not it's still retarded

>Bull. Shit. If they've done well in any area, it's the environment. IDK if you just played in one zone you didn't like, or have retarded standards, but every zone is unique and genuinely feels like it belongs.

The world looks plastic, unnatural, and over saturated, at least the areas I explored. All the little world spaces barely even felt connected to each other, unique does not necessarily mean good. It does not capture TES exploration. And I swear to god every small town I came across was infested with ghosts or creatures or something. Not that any of those towns even felt real anyways.

>but consistency isn't always a bad thing

Suck Zenimax's dick harder. Next you'll be calling me an entitled gamer.

>Again, horseshit. Some are silly/dull, yeah, especially in EP zones. But to blow all of them off without actually going and doing them is retarded, and you know that.

I did do the quests because the game literally requires you to do them. I stopped when I realized I wasn't having fun no matter what quest I was doing.

>So?

I'd rather not be forced to level up in order to continue the main story. I'd also prefer that the main story not be shit.

>You mean like every goddman ES game so far? It's a fantasy world where badasses come in all races, creeds, and both genders.

There's a fine line between having a women character who happens to be strong, and using a fucking retarded trope made to help women feel better about themselves, yay. THIS GAYM PROOVZ WUMEN R JUS AS STRUNG AS MEN.

>Why would you do that? Sounds like you're just impatient.

Not going to listen to uninteresting and inconsequential dialogue, especially when I only get one response anyways. I've got other boring quests to do.

>The vibrant and healthy RP community would like to disagree with you, especially the fine folks of TESO-rp. (http://www.teso-rp.com/home)

I meant more along the lines of keeping your own character mentality and goals.

>But you don't even have to use your class skills.

4 fruitless classes that are all mages

>Yes and no. You can still go straight to zones that have higher level enemies than yourself, and explore. You just have to be a bit more careful.

Except there's almost nothing to do in these areas if your not at the right level. And it's just plain annoying to try an avoid these creatures, still hindering exploration.

>Might have to be a bit more specific there
