Oh dear god, the ignorance is fucking real, she literally knows nothing about TES religion

Also
>If you want to have religion in your game you have to explain all the intricacies of said religion through dialogue
Because that's SO realistic, obviously if you asked some priest about his religion he wouldn't tell you everything ever about Christianity, he would give you the short version and probably tell you to go read he bible if you want to know more

Of course I can't even communicate how fucking stupid it is that she thinks that TES religion only has a pantheon because it was inspired by Vikings, does she even know there are 4 other (main) games in the series?

Really, if you actually look deep into the lore, it's clear that TES has one of the most well thought out religions ever. It's one of the few settings I have ever seen that actually delves deep into the kind of mysticism and theology that the layman doesn't know about.

I don't think so, I mean in Oblivion the fort in pale pass was the same as all the others and was stocked with standard skeletons (iirc) but you can just chalk that up to Bethesda being lazy, and TBH there's more lore-breaking shit in Oblivion than that

I kinda forgot about that, but still the image on Alduin's Wall isn't all that detailed/clear and it's possible that the artists wanted to minimize their snake-like features

I always saw Tsaesci as being on a sliding scale of human to snake, depending on how much they have "ate it to become it". Versidue-Shaie starts out as a big old snake, eats a few people and he's a naga-type person, eats more and he's some completely human person called Renald.

What really pisses me off is that she brings up Dragon Age. That shit is just an uninspired rip-off of "le dark ages" Christianity. (And this coming from a practicing Roman Catholic) The Dragon Worship was sort of interesting but didn't have any true depth to it, and the Elven shit was just Fantasy Pantheon #34544.

The only bright spot was the Dwarves. The Stone, Gaunge Shades, and Ancestors were actually pretty interesting and had a proper amount of mysticism to them.

 No.4890

Dragon Age doesn't even do anything with its religions after Origins other than I suppose slowly eroding away anything that made them interesting. I mean what's up with this Herald of Andraste crap? >entire wikis dedicated to the mysticism of Elder Scrolls and all the obscure religious stuff throughout the series
>"it's so shallow"

Is doing 10 minutes of research before a speech that hard? Religion is handled spectacularly in Elder Scrolls. The reason that it isn't sprinkled throughout the narrative in Skyrim is because that's not what the plot was about.

Aedra and Daedra had their time in the spotlight in earlier games, this game was about Nord culture and dragons.

 No.6174

What really pisses me off is this bitch missed one of the most innovative things about TES's fantasy religion: that it's a universal fact that all the gods and shit actually exist. Most other fantasy settings have the religious aspects mostly shrouded in mysticism, whereas in TES the religious aspects are as empirical as actual science. In fact, worship in TES pretty much *is* a science.

These chucklefucks always forget that Vivec is a dude who stole godhood and uses his newfound powers to switch from male to female to symbolically supplant Mephala but mostly to have sex. Cancer Mages are pretty broken.

I remember there was one disease from the same sourcebook that increased your strength but sapped your other stats. Supposed to represent it slowly mutating you or something like that. Cancer mages are immune to the negative effects of diseases, so if they get infected by that, their strength will increase until they become the most muscular of muscle wizards.
