What are some spells and mods for a shaman character? Quest ideas are appreciated too.
I found some role play guides and I'm already borrowing ideas from it. I did a search on nexus too and didn't find anything specific.

Some different guides:
http://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/forum/topics/event-build-shamans-of-skyrimhttp://theskyrimblog.ning.com/group/character-building/forum/topics/character-build-the-shaman-aspect-of-the-elements
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S8EIVA-KE8

Some spells I'm using are the influence spells, mind altering, that sort of stuff seems to fit well. Healing spells as well since shamans are known for healing and restoring life. I'm trying to limit what I see to soul gems so I don't get rich too quick. I can't find and hex/curse type spells so I need help with that. I don't want to use weapons so I'm getting fucked over when I can't influence the enemy, I definitely need a way to kill enemies.
Main skills are illusion, alteration, restoration, sneak, light armour > spell armour, blocking(staves mod).

That's my basic outline, I just need a shaman-y way to kill at low levels. Since I'm not using weapons, alchemy is off the table(too OP anyway and I just finished a bow wielder with lots of poisons).

I'm open to most mods and ideas but not like pic related. I have a throwing mod which I'm using in conjunction with an oil spilling spell to make traps. It's been pretty much my only method of killing enemies other than healing a pet which I don't like relying on, doesn't fit well either.

Throwing weapon mod*
If you were wondering, I chose a Breton male for this character.

 No.6183

Have you tried Forgotten Spells?

Are you planning on RPing a Reachman, or a High Rock Breton. In any case staffs (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/searchresults/?src_order=2&src_sort=0&src_view=1&src_tab=1&src_name=staff&src_language=0&src_showadult=1&page=3&pUp=1) seem like a fitting back up weapon for a Shaman type. Maybe some soul gem turrets: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35168/? and a Telvanni style mushroom house could be fitting for a Shaman http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/39156/? . Seems kind of odd that you don't want to do alchemy since that seems like a bit of a shaman-y thing

I meant to link to this particular mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25431/

Yea, I'm using a few of the utility/defensive spells. I checked a bunch of the offensive ones and they feel too close to a regular fire/ice/lightning mage play style, just shoot and shoot.

It's a long story for the RP, I actually played a character for 10 hours as a set up to the following character. I'm looking for a shaman style play through without the generic shoot everything directly with X.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at with that first link, it's just a search for staff which I have already gone through. That constructable soul gem turret looks great, I'll check it out. I've been wanting a more elaborate set up.
The house is a little large for my taste, besides, I played in a large Telvanni tower with my dark elf aristocrat not too long ago. I have perkus maximus so I don't need the quarterstaff(which I also recently used for a playthrough). As with the quarterstaff, it's not that I don't want to use alchemy, I have just used it recently to death..and I'm not using a physical weapon to apply the poisons to, using magic for healing. Thanks for the links.

If you're not gonna do alchemy you might enjoy this tea making mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=132117340& , and yeah I meant for the first link to be the staff mod, but you've already got that covered. In the same vein as the soul gem turrets you could also get a mod that lets you let place more than one rune like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32212/ . Also this mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=12045& will let you get your hands on some more of the vanilla clothes that you couldn't get before.

After searching through the hundreds of OP spells and items in colourful magic, I found this staff that does poison direct damage and leaves a fog of poison too. Looks good, does enough damage over time while I run.

>>6195
That tea mod looks cool, that would fit I think. Thanks.
I have that rune mod uninstalled since I have 0 runes on this character but if I get a few I'll install it. I think PerMa already allows 2 from the get go.
I don't really see a use for the clothing mod on this character. Unless there's a feathered, skull, bones, animal skin set I'm unaware of.

 No.6219

Try Apocalypse spells. It has tons of great damage dealing restoration spells that are mostly poison/disease themes.

Yea, I went through it, it's not what I'm looking for.

I have decided to just make a mod. Rise of the Shaman or maybe immersive shaman?
If anyone has any good ideas for a damaging spell, post below and I'll do my best to implement it in some way.

So far I have a smoke cloak spell, saw some shamans using smoke irl.
A healing spell.
I'm working on a rune spell now, can't find the fucking texture path in nifskope. Way too many branches.

I've seen quite a lot of them like that but for it to work, I need them to have a transparent background. They don't even need to glow, the pic above is just green circles but with the normal map, it makes it look like it glows.

No I just found it on some deviant art account by googling "rune".
>>6233
Is that the rune?

 No.6236

>>6235
Yea, I had to make the lines thicker and change this and that. It's not meant to be that colour. I don't think I'll be using it anyway. I'm going to look for shaman style runes, like a hand with a swirl in it.

4:30am..I'm annoyed that I can't figure out why a positive rune spell is aggro-ing npcs even though it's not marked as hostile. Night.

This is now a blog where I ask questions and hopefully receive ideas/input etc

Alright, mod is doing well outside of balancing and aesthetics.
I've made 9/13-14 spells so far. I want to allow different types of shamans and other magic classes to be able to use some of the spells.
With that said, I'm still open to ideas.

 No.6246

>>6245
Tell me about your spells, anon.

 No.6247

>>6246
You don't like surprises? I started with the easy ones to make. As far as I can tell, shamans are more utility, support and don't deal damage as much in terms of magic.

1.Smoke cloak. I know that shamans like using smoke for shit. Added coughing effect.
2.Cleansing fire. Main healing spell. Fire effect shader.
3.Hex. Currently not working with my idea so if you have an idea for a hex, let me know. I could probably just make a neg on all combat skills but something more creative would be better.
4.Blood lust glyph. A boost to speed and health.
5.Mind freeze. 1s paralyze, long cast time+cost.
6.Awaken spirit. Concentration spell that makes you spirit-y and heals a bit of health. Can't run while holding it.
7.Cleansing smoke. Heals the target and cures poison.
8.Glyph of stumbling. Knock back + -25% speed 30s. Simple stuff.
9.Waterwalking. I think that's shaman-y. I can't find much on shamans.

My last few are a little tricky(I checked if I can mark a certain condition, I can) but if they work, they'll be worth it. It's mostly role play + bigger pay off for going through the trouble. I have quite a few spell mods and I haven't seen anything like it done.

 No.6257

>>6247
Have the Hex be a negative to all combat stats and enhance other shaman spells if cast on the target.

Like, Mind Freeze would have 2 seconds of paralysis on a hexed target instead of 1. Stuff like that.

 No.6263

>>6257
Why would a hex boost the caster? As a self boost that would work but I can't see it working for a hex spell, especially since it's a rune spell.

 No.6270

>>6263
It doesn't enhance the caster? The hex amplifies the effects of other spells.

 No.6271

>>6270
Hex is like a curse. You curse someone with lowered stats. It doesn't make sense to boost the casters stats if it's a hex.

 No.6285

Update. The 2 role play ideas work!
