Lets talk about Races that are not what they seem.

Orcs: could be Elves that got turned by Boethiah, but we also have books calling them Goblin-ken. What do Orcs themselves say about this mess?

Bosmer: To me, the Bosmer blur the lines between what it means to be an Elf or a Beast-man, even more so than the decidedly Beast Khajiit that some people keep insisting are Elves.

They fucked men and Ayylieds back in the day too, to complicate matters?

Sload: What the fuck are these things, seriously? No myths speak of them, and they certainly can't be dismissed as animals and lesser souls, but they continue to plague the existence of every non-disgusting species simply by virtue of polluting the air with their syphilitic lungs.

Argonians: Are they actually anything other than a slave-race created by the Hist to serve their purposes; grown from local lizard and shit? Sure, they can talk and walk upright and stuff, but are they REALLY like the other races, fundamentally?

Lets find out.

 No.6820

All races besides Dunmer: They claim to be civilized, but they are in fact worthless animals. Especially whichever one YOU play.

 No.6822

Argonians probably started as humans mutated into lizard/plant hybrid things by the Hist rather than lizards given humanoid forms.

For what ever reason, the Hist chose them, altered them to better suit the Hist's purposes, and then released a biological agent through out the Black Marsh that killed off all the unmodified races.

Also the Bosmer are a bit of lore mess. I think a lot of the beast stuff is left over from the early days when they intended the Mer to be a lot more magical-y and fae than they ended up being.

As for the Orcs, even Malacath himself says he's not just a corrupted/deformed version of Trinimac. It's probably closer to say that Malacath was a wholly new being born from the remains of Trinimac. Like a flower growing from the nutrients released into the soil from a wad of manure. Likewise, it's possible the Orcs are an entirely separate and unique race brought into the world at the same time as Malacath, rather than cursed Mer.

Eat ash and die, schismatic.

I think you're definitely right about the Argonians and the Bosmer. I definitely wish that Bethesda played up the Alien-factor for the races even more; but instead we've lately been getting Tolkien-esque Woodland Elves and Lizard "People" (and they ain't supposed to be people).

Surprisingly, fucking ESO has done it a bit better last given the Bosmer antlers and whatnot.

The Orcs though, they have an undeniable connection with other beasts, frok which I think the connection was was made about their origin before the Orcs became more accepted in the Empire a.k.a. Bethesda began to Noble Savage them.

Its still there, though. The Golbins and Trolls lived in Orsinium, and there's that quest in Oblivion where Nobody Loves Me asks you to save that Troll that can write. I love the Orcs as Goblin-ken Idea, honestly.

Projection. We proud sons and daughters of Resdayn can live off ash alone for decades at a time.

Bosmer aren't even elves, they're elderitch ever morphing crawling chaos tier horrors bound to mortal form.

Sload are literally Sea AIDS given intelligence, and have mad respect for KOW for getting Necromancy to an applicable practicable standard.

Also, N'ghasta and the Deep ones in Hackdirt, had Todd not been lazy.

>Bosmer aren't even elves, they're elderitch ever morphing crawling chaos tier horrors bound to mortal form.

I'm pretty sure the whole, being unable to hold a single form thing, applied to every Fey of the Dawn Era.

 No.6845

>>6819

I suppose the obvious question is where do Goblins come from?

 No.6847

>>6845

This. Are they just animals? I don't think so. They seem pretty intelligent, but evolution the way we understand it doesn't exist in the ES Lore. People and things change by magical influence.

This is what makes me think that Orcs are essentially "uplifted" Goblins/Trolls/Ogre like people, and that that story with Boethiah/Malacath is, well, shit.

Goblins are intelligent and tribal, so are Rieklings.

>>6827

Not even Altmer but seriously my friends can we just agree that Sloads are THE worst thing ever to happen to Mundus? And the Dunmer are pretty cool don't get me wrong but Tear should be burnt to the ground and the women sold to khajiit fetal-chefs for consorting with Sloads and allowing them to trade in their port.

>This is what makes me think that Orcs are essentially "uplifted" Goblins/Trolls/Ogre like people, and that that story with Boethiah/Malacath is, well, shit.

Have you ever considered that they are just degenerated orcs?

 No.6856

>>6855

Oh man I like that. Can't think of non-magical physiological advancement, but we do know that living in shitty conditions and Sload-tier conditions can make you into a beast. I mean, look at the falmer.

That said, if that were the case it would suggest that Orcs; like Argos and Khajiits; are the "aboriginal" species of Tamriel.

>inb4 All life began on Tamriel

For sure, but the peoples of Tamriel don't know that shit. Those who might think the rest fetchers and haven't said a thing, to my knowledge.

 No.6905

>>6856

It's supported by the theory that the Rieklings themselves are a different strand of degenerated falmer. As well as the fact that during the time of the Ra Gada, Hammerfell was said to have been inhabited by 'giant Goblins'.

OR the giant goblins and Rieklings are just breeds/races of the goblin species

ITT people making shit up

Paraphrased:

>I think goblins evolved into orcs

>well I think orcs devolved into goblins

>that makes sense

>here's some evidence

>DURRR LOOK AT ALL THIS MADE UP SHIT

>The evidence isn't made up, and of course its speculative because you know, there is no actual explanation for it

>wow, I can't even comprehend the fact that your speculating about TES lore, because obviously nobody has ever done that before

Congratulations, you are literally the biggest fag on /tes/

What do you think is the origen of the Orc people, friend?

 No.6946

>>6924

>>6931

>>6935

Well Orcs are considered Mer, so they must have something to do with the other elves. Perhaps an elf/goblin hybrid? This could be plausible since TES already has chimeric animals like minotaurs

The main complaint I was making in this >>6916 post is that comment about Argonians being corrupted humans. That's baseless speculationg

 No.6961

>>6819

>Sload: What the fuck are these things, seriously?

Maormer who let themselves go all beastfolk. A mysterious sea folk who live in a third-quarter sunken kingdom, ruled over by necromancers and have made an incessant threat of themselves to the Altmer and Tamriel.

Note that the crystal compasses used in the era of Topal point toward Pyandonea, Thras and Yokuda. Since it's looking more likely that the left-handed elves were a Maormer offshoot then we've all but to complete the triangle.

>>6946

Minotaurs are the result of Alessia riding the bull. Divines bumping uglies is not the same as saying goblins and elves are interfertile.

 No.6977

>>6961

Well I'm not saying elves fucked Goblins. I'm saying maybe malacath did

 No.8030

>>6822

There is no reason to think the Orcs aren't what they seem. We already know races with a strong connection to a certain deity can undergo "corruption". Chimer became Dunmer at Azura's whim. We have the Tribunal to testify to that. Why wouldn't Trinimac's followers be equally corrupted when he was devoured by Boethiah?

DREUGHS

>Mentioned in weird religious scriptures to have once ruled the seas from coral kingdoms

>Now they're barely more than vaguely man shaped animals

What happened? Are they some weird offshoot of mer?

Well the Dreughs were from Lyg, that's where they ruled during a previous kalpa.

The Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes mention that they were cruel rulers and enslaved the population of Lyg.

also that

>They were akin to the time-totems of old

So, in short, Dreughs were pretty much the Dragons of Lyg.

They ruled until the Magna Ge constructed Mehrunes Dagon who destroyed Lyg and ended the Kalpa, but somehow managed to trickle into Tamriel, degenerating into their modern forms.

Lyg is basically a backwards parallel version of Tamriel that was created during some strange, most likely, Dawn Era, event in which Nirn was folded up, and Tamriel left a sort of 3D imprint of itself somewhere. It's one of the Adjacent Places, which are basically strange off-set realms that can only be entered through moving in the bizarre angles as corresponds to that of where the adjacent realm exists. Due to Lyg's own strange connection to Tamriel, every action on Tamriel is, in some correlating manner, mirrored in Lyg.

In a previous Kalpa, Lyg was ruled by the Dreughs who looked to Molag Bal (then a being known as the Ruddy Man) as their leader and god. The Magna Ge, who wished to end the cruel rulership of the Dreugh's, built Mehrunes Dagon in Lyg's deepest bowels (it should be noted that this construction is heavily alluded to being a correlation to the Dwemer's Anumidum, Mehrunes may have been City-Face as described in the 36 Lessons). When Mehrune's construction was finished, he started a great revolution which resulted with him killing Lyg and ending the Kalpa. From then on, Molag Bal ruled from Coldharbour, which is said to be a dreary annihilated version of Tamriel.

I always figured that only some argonians were hist-controlled slaves.

Mostly on account of many argonians holding a large variety of functions I don't see hist-controlled slaves having reason to do.
