So… Fallout 4 is on it's way, and it looks to have a voiced protagonist. Chances are, the casuals and console plebs are going to love this because "muh cinematic experience" "so engaging".

What's your reaction to a TES VI where the player character is voiced, and because of that you can only play as an Imperial PC following along a much more character focused and tightly paced storyline.

The main problem I see is A) Bethesda writes the most boring dialog ever, so your voice wouldn't really add anything to the game, and B) they'd probably only have like two voice sets total and they be generic normal person voices, no ashy dummeri voices, or special khajiit style dialog or anything that could really help define your character.

>missed the only play as an imperial PC part

Yeah no, that's just a terrible idea. And if they want to have a tighter plotted game like that they should release it as a Elder Scrolls Adventures type side game.

Also I still don't actually believe the 'can only play a white dude' fall out 4 rumor, Bethesda wouldn't be so crazy to attempt that at a time when so many studios are getting attacked by socjus for their lack of diversity and especial not with a series that had full character creation for it's previous two games..

 No.7515

My reaction is to not buy it or play it, and to be disgusted every time it is mentioned. I would then most likely go play Morrowind and pretend it doesn't exist.

As long as you can choose from a bunch of different voices based off of race, sex, personality etc.

Oh yeah, as long as they piss away the entire budget on voice acting for all shapes and sizes, which will still not include all shapes and sizes. Are you done ruining TES yet? Can't you go play Bioware garbage and/or kill yourself?

 No.7519

>>7518

it wouldn't piss away the budget if they'd stop hiring god damn A-list and B-list actors for voice work. Regular voice actors aren't that expensive. Volition probably has a fraction of the budget Bethesda has, yet it doesn't stop them from including at least three voice options per gender.

Bash my head on my desk till I forget it exists and go back to playing Daggerfall.

Probably cry a lot, curse the n'whas and buy the game used because I've lost control of my life.

They record multiple voices, but only tell release the one male voice. When the socjus harpies complain you wait a bit and release news about the other voices. Free publicity for the game and you did nothing more than you were going to do. The core audience is a little annoyed, socjus makes noise while not buying the game anyway, and more people hear about the game.

Fucking saved

 No.7588

It's not that much of a stretch that you'd have multiple voices, right? I mean the Saints Row games let you pick from six voices, and they don't have the budget Bethesda has.

You know they'll never do that. They always have to have some expensive celebrity voice one of the characters to show off how much money they have.

I've been wanting to play a more story focused TES game with a per-established player character for a while now. So I'd prolly be eager to play TES6 if it goes in that direction.

I'd hate to see it become the norm for the series though. I'd really just like them to reboot the Adventures line and give it to Obsidian studios or something. They did great with KOTOR 2 and New Vegas.

>boring dialogue

actually, the writing in FO3 and NV is very high. The ES is where the writing goes shit, though Skyrim's writing is by far better than the others.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, holy fuck.

honestly it was always going to happen, along with the continued casualization of the series

at least Fo4 will apparently have some fun crafting and base/city building to somewhat redeem it, but TESVI probably isn't going to be an RPG as post-Skyrim Beth has no reason to make one anymore

I'm going to turn off the voice until some nipnong makes a cute loli voice replaced pack. Nigga i don't want my bitch to sound like she 30
