 No.24

What the fuck is wrong with this city?

 No.25

When I was visiting my relatives in Austin, my Uncle showed me this brick road. The people on the street didn't like the fact that the city replaced the brick road with a more modern one. They managed whine enough that they got the city to put a brick road back in the street. As a person who lives in a city that has not gotten rid of several of its brick roads, all I can say is that was a stupid idea. Brick roads are terrible for driving upon and that probably wasted a lot of money. This situation here highlights the biggest problem with Austin: its filled with special snowflake hipsters who want to the city to be "weird" and "unique" for the sake of it, even when it's a bad idea.

It has some of the highest rent in Texas.
$1,657 per month according to Zillow.

We get a bad rep because we have an ENORMOUS college in our town filled with the next generation of kids who have been babied for their whole lives, who like to complain about everything, and who like to turn everything into a god damned social justice issue.

If you took away UT, I can guarantee people would have a different opinion of Austin.

My two story house 10 minutes outside the downtown area is only $1,200 in rent a month.

 No.134

At least it isn't San Fransisco.

 No.251

Commiefornians and faggot UT professors

Austin is expensive because it's objectively the best city in Texas.

That isn't Austin m8

Why would you even bother driving? Ditch your car and walk.

No need for a fucking murderbox

 No.317

>>316

Okay I will concede that Austin has pretty good city transportation. Around here our transit doesn't even show you what times the next bus will get here. You have to access them online. Only one bus station has the schedule for bus routes, and its wrapped around a fucking pole. I wouldn't trade the freedom given to me by my automobile for a Austin's city transit though.

 No.318

It's all the goddam hipsters that moved here "ironically"

>>City growth can't keep up with people moving there

>>horrible traffic

It's been bad for a really long time. I remember driving through there in the 80s and every day was a nonstop traffic jam. You had to leave a place hours before you wanted to just to make it to somewhere else on time.

And now things have gotten worse ever since the hipster commies infested every side of town. One friend said to me that Austin is even worse than San Fransisco on account of how much the hipster life has permeated Austin. I didn't doubt him since he's lived there for years before moving on.

 No.330

I'm stuck in this shithole for 3 more months then I'm moving to Waco. I am hyped.

I will say this as a person who has lived in Austin for the past 18 years, FUCK AUSTIN.

 No.346

I miss Austin and hope to move back one day if I can actually afford to live there once again.

I'm sure as shit going to move back to somewhere in Texas eventually.

 No.347

Commiefornians.

If you leave downtown you don't see it nearly as much though.

 No.348

Nuclear fire is too good for your city.

 No.364

At least the architecture is nice.

 No.371

>>364

I don't know how anyone could possibly think this is true. The place looks incredibly bland.

I travel a bit due to doing some clinical trials, and I gotta say I enjoy Houston a lot more than Austin or San Antonio. The night life is a lot nicer, and things aren't as expensive in terms of living expenses.

 No.393

>>24

It got flooded by Commiefornians. Just drive them out of the state and we're good.

>>371

Houston is dirty as fuck; not as bad as Dallas, but damn. Also, fuck toll roads. I already pay for the streets with my taxes, I'm not gonna pay fucking $20 a week for the privilege of driving to and from work.

 No.398

I plan to move back to Austin once I'm out of A&M with my vet license. The city is great for /tg/ stuff and north side of town is pretty legit, not as many hipster bullshit as near like, the drag.

Fuck the drag. All that's good there is the food.

 No.399

Checking in.

What is wrong with it? I was going to go down there for some unlimited freedoms. Is there none to be found?

 No.400

>>398

>great for /tg/ stuff

Can confirm. It's the home of Steve Jackson Games, and I have a pretty cool FLGS. Doesn't quite make up for the hipster plague, but I'll take what I can get.

Read the thread.

>If you took away UT

If you could take away the spread of cultural marxism in colleges, any college would be good.

Nothing. Live here right now. Everything is badass here I'm not kidding.

Little over population creeping in but that just helps me.

Getting dark runnin back.

Texas is not like other colleges.

Go to west campus.

Walk into one of our beautiful Fraternities or Sororities!

 No.533

I went there back in 2014 to see a band, and I could have sworn I saw at least four people who looked like Phil Fish. Probably saw as many rainbow-hairs as well.
