We already have a shit ton of uncultivated land in this state which could very quickly be transformed into productive marijuana farming land. Recreational usage aside, think of how many jobs industrial hemp would add to our economy. Paper mills and rope factories galore! We could rake in money hand over fist peddling hemp oil, artisan glass blown pipes, and the dankest of weed (EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas, after all) to those hippies in Commiefornia.
Also, it'd piss off the Mexican drug cartels, which I am all for.

The less gov't intrusion, the better.
I'm not a frequent weed smoker (maybe 7 or 8 times my whole life), just don't see it being the horrible thing we're meant to believe that it is.

Unfortuantely, it seems Texans are only okay with medical marijuana at this point. Hopefully we soon get to the point where they support full legalization.
