what are your thoughts on the concealed carry on campus debate? does it go to far?
personally, i think that if an individual has taken the required course and passed the test, and he or she is deemed legally capable of carrying a weapon, that right should extend to public university campus as well.
pic is what liberals think concealed carry means.

I don't really know much about guns, even though I've gone to the firing range a few times. Even then, I still don't get the fear people who have little experience with guns have. I'm really surprised to see a lot of the people I talk to be against campus carry. Even the people I know who are for open carry are either against or hesitant to approve of campus carry. I personally don't see anything wrong with it, as long as they are responsible with their gun. Robbers and gunmen don't scare me, people who don't know how to properly handle or play with guns do. If the student has shown to be incompetent with handling guns, then I don't think he/she should be allowed to bring it on campus.
Also, I've never understood why people just put guns in their pants like in your pic. What if the gun discharges? Fucking morons.

Gun free zones should be outlawed. All the mass shootings happen there because criminals don't give a shit about the law.

my generally conservative dad saw this on the news and was like "oh great. now a bunch of irresponsible kids are gonna be running around packing heat." i was pretty shocked. i mean anyone who is going to be carrying on campus has to already have a permit to carry anywhere else and be 21, so how the hell does that person become a crazy irresponsible kid as soon as he or she steps onto university property? i mean, the way it's being painted by the media it sounds like we're talking about giving guns to junior high school kids.

The problem that I see with conceal carry on campus is that, in the event of a spree shooter or other random act of violence, there are so many people on campus it may be difficult to ascertain whether the gun carrying individual you see is actually the shooter or another vigilant citizen.
I'm not sure if this concern is enough to bar weapons from campus or not, but it is something that should be kept in mind.
