After playing ANR, all other deckbuilders look like fucking kids games. ANR is to MtG as MtG is to Pokemon.

>Favorite faction?

Jinteki is fun because the bluffing and mindfuckery is dialed way up.

>Most hated faction?

I don't hate any of them.

>How do you feel about the new runners?

I been out of the loop.

>How's your local scene?

Non-existent.

I really like this game but I have no one to play with. No one around here plays it. I've pimped it to friends and they like it but not enough to actually get cards and play on the reg.

I would fucking LOVE a really nice online client like that one Blizzard game.

I also think the setting could make for a damn good TTRPG, just sayin

>I've been out of the loop

They're pic related - Apex, Adam and Sunny

Apex installs stuff face-down for free once per turn at the start of its turn, and has several cards that utilize this mechanic. Of note are its console, Heartbeat. The runner relies on utilizing Apocalypse, a card that can only be played if you've made a successful run on all 3 servers during one turn. It costs 3 clicks and destroys everything the corp has on the field, while turning all your stuff face down for future use.

Second one is Adam. His ability is starting with 3 "directives" on the field. Directives behave just like resources, each having a crazy strong upside but also a downside. In case you can't read the image,, they are:

- Saftey First: Hand size -2, draw a card at the end of your turn if you're under your max hand size

- Always Be Running: First click each turn must be spent on a making a run / using a run event. Can spend 2 clicks to break any ICE subrutine once per turn.

- Neutralize All Threats: First trashable card accesed each turn must be trashed if your credits allow. Access one additional card when you acces HQ.

He has cards that can temporarily defuse or staright-up destroy his directives, but that's not something you usually want to do, since ABR lets you easily sneak into servers early game, NAL makes it easier to steal plans off HQ and SF keeps your hand full. His console, Brain Chip, gives you +X hand size and +X MU, where X is the agenda points you've stolen.

Third one is Sunny. She looks like she's not special, right? Well, you're wrong. She starts with 2 Link, which is incredibly powerful. Underworld Contact can be enabled on the first turn. Data Folding is pretty much always active, since her ICE breakers are very cost effective, powerful, and are cloud ICE breakers on top of that, meaning they don't take up MU space. Security Chip gives you +2 (or more) strength on every ICE breaker for a run. Her console, Security Nexus, allows you to force the corp to trace 8 to entirely bypass a piece of ICE. If you lose you take a tag, but Sunny shouldn't be losing traces often.

Apex is actually really shit. His signature breaker (Endless Hunger) only works on straight ETR subroutines. It doesn't work on program trashers, it doesn't work on subs that cost you money, it doesn't work on subs that act as soft ETRs by just fucking your shit up if they fire. It doesn't even break routines that say "Trace X - End the run" or "Do X or end the run" for the love of god. Consensus on NRDB seems to be you're better off running Apocalypse in another ID that's better at actually running.

Apex is the shittiest out of the 3, but you can do some janky stuff with him. Always Be Running is a must-have, since with Apex you want to be running all the time anyway. That + e3 Feedback Implants and Ice Breaker gives you a pretty decent way to break ice. You can also go Brain Cage + Faust and heavy draw spells, since you can prevent the brain damage of Brain Cage with your console, effectively getting 3 hand size for 1 click.

There's better runners, but there's also a lot of far, far shittier ones.

>>200021

Apex is nice but Adam's really the coolest of the three flavour-wise, in my opinion.

Are you ready for Android: Trannyrunner?

 No.206929

>What are your decks?

None, just started playing this. Core set.

>How's your local scene?

Seems to be tiny (Toronto). There's local events 7 days a week for Magic, a lot of weeklies for Yugioh and cardfight vanguard, miniatures games. I've only seen one place that lists a regular event for ANR.

Is jinteki.net good for learning or is it better to know everything first?

 No.209057

>>206929

There's a pretty decent tutorial online IIRC, but learning is better done at an actual table.

Jinteki in particular can be very obtuse, especially with things like recurring credits (they're not used automatically) and cards that activate with weird costs, such as Apex's console or Adam's directives.

 No.209464

>>206472

Honestly the first two things that came to my mind when seeing that card was Andy or Valencia violently exploding into Ian or Whizard.

I normally run shaper and this restricted list is busting my balls. I have no idea what to do for decks anymore. I don't even run boring shit like PPVP Kate, but Clone Chips and Lady offer so much to ever other in faction ID.

 No.210095

For living near FFG, finding events on a regular basis that aren't at the company HQ is all but impossible. Fuck me, I just want to find people to play with!

 No.210098

 No.210327

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2015/12/31/napd-security-upgrades/

Whoa shit they actually fixed the astrotrain. Those are some core cards in the Runner side of the list, though, which makes me think there'll be "nerfed" translation: effectively functional reprints versions of Clone Chip etc. in the Mumbad cycle.

 No.210432

>>210327

I don't think so. They "fixed" the cards by making them effectively cost 1 more influence unless you're playing prof.

Astrotrain was retarded, Eli and Architect were strong as fuck and NAPD was too good of a plan. On the runner side, Clone Chip + Parasite was degenerate as hell, Lady 1H breaks barriers for dirt cheap and you can get extra counters on it with Salvage, Pre-Paid Kate was stupidly powerful (and PPVP in general), and Yog-0 should've always costed 2 inf to begin with. Desperado is literally the only console used in Criminal.

Maybe this shit gives us some variety.

 No.211131

>>209464

Because people explode into different people all the time amirite?

There's all kinds of shit wrong with this card:

>no fluff rationale for what the card does whatsoever, this is a fucking Magic card with wires on it

>only 1 inf and ZERO FUCKING CREDITS

>fucks with identity, which has been one of the few bedrock constants in Netrunner with the only interaction being blanking its ability text

>seriously nigger can you imagine people playing any ID in crim other than Andy Rebirthing into Gabe when this card drops?

>probably a tranny metaphor to appeal to Miss Megaphone and her orbiters

>>210432

>They "fixed" the cards by making them effectively cost 1 more influence unless you're playing prof.

That's what I meant. They "fixed" Astrotrain by making it impractical to run the component cards. If you include the central components to make Astrotrain "work" (3 AstroScript plus 3 SanSan; technically you could get away with 2 or even 1 SanSan but good luck) you're down SIX influence. You'd have to be fucking insane to consider that a good trade.

I have problems with restricting both Clone Chip and Parasite though, since they both have legitimate uses outside of the combo. I may not be that good at this shit but if I had to pick one to restrict it would be Clone Chip because of the fact that you can use it to react to basically anything the Corp does to you and how it can be abused with all trash-after-use programs like Deus X, not just Parasite.

 No.211164

>>211131

Clone chip is extremeley powerful, yes. But Parasite can be recurred with other ways. Déjà Vu can give you two parasites back from your pile. Parasite + Hivemind / Incubator also happens to be pretty fucking stupid.

FA NEH with Team Sponsorship and Turtlebacks and a Faust oriented Edward Kim deck

>What are you brewing?

Jesminder Vamp spam with Faust as the main breaker

>Favorite Faction

Corp: HB and NBN. Because I love the faction themes of German engineers building robots and a media conglomerate with a dark and Orwellian side to them.

Runner: Shaper for the fact that they do it just for curiosity and the pride to see if they can do it.

>Hated faction:

None really save for a RP deck. Mostly a disappointment that Criminal is a shit faction for now

 No.214787

Is anyone else shocked that Jackson Howard wasn't on the MWL? It's really hard to come up with reasons not to play him as a 3 of in almost any corp deck.

 No.214791

>>214787

I think putting him on the MWL would hurt the corp side since Noise is such a strong runner and DLR is a prevalent archetype. That and he helps corps that get a shit draw of Agendas so he is a balancing piece.

Wish he was a neutral card instead of a NBN card though.

 No.214851

>>214791

Honestly I think Jesus Howard would still be good enough to play even if he was on the MWL, since his "rez for 0 and RfG to remove agendas from archives just before the Runner would access them" trick has no direct counter thanks to the priority rule.

 No.214852

>>214851

Yeah, but every other faction would be paying 'six' influence for a full playset, and NBN one. That means they are not going to have that much influence to play around with other things. It is not that hard to play against. All you need to do is run him when he is on a open remote to either force the corp to use his ability or let you trash him. And if that is your only form of recursion and all copies are either removed or in the heap, you are either in the late game or you are going to have a rough time.

The main direct counter to him is Hades Fragment, since the timing of it beats Jackson Howard since the player who is going on their turn gets timing priority for their 'paid abilities'.

 No.217470

>>206472

Noob here, to play this would you just grab whatever ID you want from outside the game or would you need the new ID card to be in your actual deck/hand?

 No.217523

>>217470

Huh? You grab it from outside of the game. An ID isn't a legal card to even exist in your deck or hand.

 No.222696

>>214656

Yeah, I'm the one that made the idiot's guide to netrunner. Whoever made this cap forgot the intro decks, though.

>>214787

>>214851

You can't put Jesus Howard on the MWL without printing a semi-decent "archive rescue" and a decent "please god let me draw some cards" alternative first, especially now that NBN is so powerful, since all you're doing is making it impossible for every other corp to splash Howard. And no, Shannon Claire is NOT a decent alternative.

 No.222848

>>222696

I am on board with that, since Jackson Howard serves two big 'HUGE' purposes in the meta-game.

+A huge counter to Noise or getting your Agendas back from a mill.

+Recover from an Agenda-flooded hand when you do not need the agenda.

Unless you were referring to that, then I apologize.

 No.222863

Everybody has been running this whizard deck and I have no idea how to counter it. I tried my usual hand at stupid traps bullshit, but it was just to aggressive to care before I could bash their head in for being stupid. Anybody know how to play or build against this?

 No.222969

>>222696

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Putting Howard on the MWL would pretty much destroy every corp deck that isn't Near Earth Hub or SYNC.

Hopefully the Mumbad Cycle gives us decent Howard alternatives.

>>222863

I'm not going to lie, this deck is strong as shit, but you have options.

Spiderweb, Hive, Swordsman, Turing on a central and any multi-subroutine non-sentry ICE with power lower than 5 absolutely destroys this deck (and any other Faust-based runner, for that matter). Also, Checkpoint is absolutely hilarious.

Post MWL, Faust has become the meta. You need to pack answers for it.

 No.228502

File: 1458700262876.png (256.56 KB, 300x419, 300:419, jesminder.png)

This chick is a fucking undercover anarch, and I love her. Siphons and only gets 1 tag. Vamps away all their money, 0 tags. Tucks away important cards from RD with her absurdly powerful console (which gives 2 MU by the way). Gives no fucks about data raven (actually about half of NBN's ICE). If she finds poison agendas off RD, Maya can kick them off your score area into their RD's bottom (not that you'd usually want to anyway, since they fuel artist colony).

10/10 runner, really think she's going to be hella strong.

 No.228529

Did our Winter kit finally, was getting pysched for whizard and just ran Black Tree due to nobody in our meta knowing how to play around it.
