Does any one here actually play miniature games or are you just D&D and lore fags?

I play Krosmaster on rare occasion, if that counts.

 No.212527

I haven't played but I have a fuckton of warhams.

So, lorefag here.

 No.212529

>>212526

Oh my god what is this

 No.212554

I play, though only half of my army is actual miniatures. Depending on how easily I can find other players when I move, I may start using VASSAL to play more.

French animu multimedia universe that's been turned into a bunch of /tg/ stuff, and also some okay /v/ stiff and really great /co/ stuff.

Krosmaster is essentially a miniatures skirmish game. You assemble a team out of different characters with their own stats (on a convenient little card) and beat the shit out of other people's teams.

 No.212580

I used to play, but then AoS and the latest CSM and Ork dexes happened. Now I just paint and play the odd game with someone elses' armies.

Yeah i've been playing dropzone commander and infinity lately.

I run nomads and phr

>>212580

>Ork dexes happened.

also an ork fag here, I don't 40k any more

 No.212597

I played Wh40K back in 3rd edition and War machine between its release and shortly after Hordes came out. It was mostly because of the LGS near my house close down that I stopped but also I was low on money to continue playing. War machine I stopped playing first because the models were not as customizable as WH40K so it didn't draw me in as much because unless you really knew how to customize shit all armies looked the same. WH40K I then went from on hold to not playing probably again when I heard they constantly releasing new editions with units that you might have bought back in the day not having stats anymore for the newer edition. Also the constant changes made it so my army would have to change up everything about them to be viable against any but super casual players. I still hold onto my models just for nostalgia/Wh40k role playing.

 No.212754

>>212525

I started playing Guild Ball when our LGS bought some of it last year. Fun game, not Blood Bowl at all, but I enjoy the differences. I run Union and Mortician teams.

If the rumours are true and GW are bringing back Blood Bowl, I may start a lizardmen team, as there's still a big following for it here.

 No.212756

>>212572

i used to play krosmaster, even at a competitive level. Went to national twice.

Now i gave up, mostly because the game never updates and because the local scene in my town is pure shit and the game is dead.

 No.212770

>>212756

There's a big update in the works, apparently, but I can understand your reluctance. They released a fuckload of nothing in 2015 because of all the corporate shit and fucking up the shipment on Krosmaster Quest.

 No.212805

Played wh40k, had 3 fucking armies. Not quitted tired of retardness.

I got 2 wmh armies and play occasionally.

I would play another system but don't have time for it.

I play Infinity and I used to play 40k. My armies were Ork and Sisters and there were was only so much shitting on I could take.

 No.212897

>>212525

I play D&D on a semi-regular basis, and I'm counting that as a miniature game because my group plays it proper, with miniatures and everything.

A few years back I wanted to get into playing WH40k (instead of just reading all the novels), so I started gradually putting together a Space Marines fighting force. I grew less able to afford the models as GW kept jacking up the prices, though, and at this point I just can't spare the expense.

 No.212898

>>212529

A board game based on Catalan theatrical snail eating.

 No.212977

I know people who play miniature games and have sizable collections, but personally, I just play the pen and paper side of /tg/. And yeah, I love lore and such.

With that said, I could totally see myself collecting miniatures if I either had a LOT more money or 3D printing finally got adequately cheap and good, whichever came first.

 No.212984

Have a bunch of 20mm stuff but no one around here plays historical games so just a modeler really

 No.212993

File: 1453745537345.jpg (34.2 KB, 427x231, 61:33, hogodwhy.jpg)

I wanted to wait and see what AOS rules and the new dwarves would be before painting, assembling and playing with my (at the time) newly acquired miniatures (mainly Kings of War troops/rangers, Avatars of War Slayers, some old school GW dwarfs that I inherited from a retired player, and a more recent plastic hero to make myself a custom Slayer King).

Needless to say, my hopes have been blown to smithereens. Thank god, there's still Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and the old editions of the tabletop to revive the old world.

slayerking lad? i see you have great taste

By grugni pick yourself up beardling.

We also have king of war and the 9th age if you can tolerate the growing cooperate scumminess of the former or the growing sjwism of the latter.

There is i think also frostgrave and lion's rampart by osprey and a couple others, none of which I am well antiquated with, including FG and LR.

There is hope anon.

 No.213030

I'm putting together a "guard" army for 40k. Never really got burned out by it. Trying to put together a skaven army, since no one in their right mind plays AoS around here, at least not that I know of.

 No.213038

Boardgames count right ?

Been trying to get my mates over for Forbidden stars, but exam session and extreme cold make that impossible for 3 weeks or more.

 No.213081

I have fully painted…

A firestorm armada fleet

A firestorm planetfall army

All of the Dark Age Skarrd cults

An in progress 40k wordbearers with a fuckton of demon allies and kitbashed demon engines

Infinity Nomad army

Void/Urban War Junkers & Gladiators

DP9 Heavy Gear WFP army

Warmachine Talion Charter army

Sedition Wars Boardgame

Super Dungeon Explore Boardgame, semi WIP

Repainted Tannhauser, still working on getting some expansions

Necromunda Ashwaste Nomads

Mordheim Skaven

Ogre bloodbowl team

I haven't played any of them in about 5 years. I've actually never played some of them (heavy gear blitz, dark age, sedition wars, Infinity). What's wrong with me TG?

If you buy them at the price the manufacturer suggests, they are somewhat overpriced for okay-ish models.

If you buy them online, most store sell them for far less and you can end up with decent-quality figurines of your favorite characters for under $5 a piece

I play Heroclix, Warhammer/40k and LOTR Strategy Game!

Shame nobody else does….

I never have ANYONE to fucking play with

 No.222651

I play 40k, Phantasy roleplay, and recently been invited to play D&D

 No.222657

I can believe that maybe some people play one of the goofy kiddy games with prepainted plastic miniatures based on some kind of popular IP. I've never seen anyone actually play them, but it's a conspiracy that at least sounds kind of plausible-ish.

However the full-on mass army shit like Warhammer? I am absolutely positive that no one actually plays it. I think maybe once every couple of years GW collects 20 or 30 guys to play a game and take pictures of to post online or whatever.

In decades of gaming, many groups, and many hobby stores that sold GW stuff and paints, I have never once seen a game being played. Every so often I make friends with a guy who has a basement/attic/room taken over by minis and painting supplies.

"Wow, you're a really good painter. How often do you get to play, who else around here plays?"

"Oh … uh yeah, Anon. I totally play. I play the game with uh … Bob Bobson. Yeah, I play so much." It always sounds like a middle schooler lying about the boobs he's touched.

Warhammer type games actually being played is just an urban legend.

 No.223822

I play Team Yankee or Frostgrave now mainly. I tried roleplaying once but it's hard as fuck.

 No.223887

>>222657

warhammer and warmachine are not only routinely played at my flgs, but 'apocalypse' games see play at least once a month. they take multiple tables each and are really loud, so it's really obvious when it's going on. I play warmachine occasionally, maybe once every couple months or so? I used to be heavy into magic, but it just got too expensive, so I largely just play deckbuilders and P&P now

 No.223888

Warhammer 40 000
