The Big Bang was the universe memeing itself into existence.

Cave paintings were just early memes.

Our brains are naturally wired to be fascinated by stories and conceptual constructs for the purpose of sharing them and spreading them.

Computers were created to create unlimited memes and the internet exists for rapid spread of memes.

This is the thing that the Sign of One keeps talking about, right? You know, the Faction from Planescape whose members have weaponised solipsism to the point where they memed the Bleaker Factol to death.

As a Signer's power grows they become able to meme so hard they can duplicate spells (up to level 4 for Factotums, up to level 9 for Factors), though if you roll poorly you mess up and meme yourself out of existence.

The Signers however don't do this for enlightenment: they do it for their own personal power, and to show off that they can. So they're in there for the lulz.

And yes, the Signers are currently trying to meme a god back life. Votes are between Aoskar, the old god of portals who was killed by the Lady of Pain for encroaching on Sigil and stealing some of her Dabus away from her, and Enki. Yes, THAT Enki. The Epic of Gilgamesh one. Personally I'd go with Team Enki because A: Her Serenity didn't kill him and as such reviving him won't draw her ire, and B: the Sumerian pantheon is still around and they are small but mighty.

I think battle suits have a more primal source.

It's like horse back riding, man seamlessly taking control over something outside of his body, extending his purpose to it to compete and grow stronger.

It's why they're so integral to sci-fi, not because it's the next logical step in warfare(at least exo-skeleton wise), but because they enable us to take on things much bigger than ourselves whether it be the incarnation of pure evil, fucking clanners, or the gods of chaos.

I think you might be onto something.

The greatest show of power that Mankind has always revered is always the ability to impose one's will upon the world. To command and control everything around you.

Taming the first animals to fight and hunt and work must have been seen as an immense power by early men (this is fresh in my head because of Farcry Primal). BUt all throughout history, men have sought to impose their will and command greater and more complex creatures. Immense armies that toppled continents. Massive tanks and fleets of planes that caused unfathomable destruction on a whim.

A mech would be the newest most dangerous beast for men to impose their wills upon. Something to allow us unprecedented power to shape the world around us.

But there's a hitch that we see quite common in our stories (the memes we create and spread amongst our cultures) that shows that being able to impose your will and being able to properly control the power it brings are not the same thing. Countless tales of hubris as men try to tame and control things beyond what their meager wills can handle.

Which brings us to meme magic and the power to control and command the greatest beast of all: Reality itself. What greater achievement could their be? To enact one's will upon the very fabric of existence is a meme older than the countless Gods and faiths that have come and gone in mankind's history.

Meme magic scares me.

Mostly because it implies we've got some Ork-like psychic webway where if we get enough people to echo shit, it becomes real.

 No.220807

>>220776

Adapt, Assimilate, Advance. That's what mankind does.

We adapt to our surroundings to survive literally anywhere, but we are not content with that. We assimilate that surrounding to better serve us. Be it animals, crops, or the very forces of nature themselves, we take them, and mold them to our advantage. But we are not content with just that. Every time we have something good, every time we force our surroundings to better suit us, every time we meet the requirements of our people to thrive, we are still not content. We take all that, and we improve it further and further.

But we are not content with that alone, either.

Now we look to new lands to repeat the cycle over again. To adapt to the harshest of climates, to assimilate the strangest of animals, to advance our worlds a thousandfold.

So many other things in this world are content with just one of these traits. Few creatures adapt to more than one climate, few learn to assimilate their surroundings to better serve them, and few ever go beyond their need.

On their own, the traits may not seem special, but it is when united together they become a force to be reckoned with.

There is one final trait, however: This one completely inarguable.

Humanity is, above all else, massive perverts.

That leaves us with the most terrifying combination of all. Because we won't be slowed by some foreign alien threat. No, instead, we will look on that alien threat and say to ourselves "I want to fuck that". And then, we will adapt and assimilate our way into being able to fuck that. And then we will advance that fucking even further, until we've got horrible alien crossbreeds that further send humanity's unstoppable grasp out across the universe.

>Is that too mindfucky?

Nope, that's exactly how it works. A powerful enough meme can go back in time and reshape the world. Kinda like with religion, the most powerful of memes. The Christian take on how the world was created? Completely valid and accurate, as is the Shintoist creation myth. What happens after death? Zoroastrianism, Pastafarianism and the Maori are all correct, both when it comes to their own people and amongst the infidels.

Their memes shaped the world in years to come, but also in the earlier years. From all these initial creations came a single universe, the one we live in now. All the inconsistencies, fuckups and clashing ideas smoothened themselves out, and voila: here we are.

This shit almost reminds me of the Matrix. You have to believe hard enough, and then it will become true. If you believe you are fast, you will be fast, if you believe you are strong, you will be, and so on.

This also happens to echo a lot of what I understand of psychology, especially in sports.

Corked bats, for instance, are actually supposedly less effective in practicality than wood core ones, but despite that, those who use them tend to hit harder.

They believe this, if you will, "wand" will give them power, and so it does. Mind over matter.

This idea of meme magic, we are subtly aware of our entire lives. Our entire history, our arts, philosophies, games, and stories, hell even our sciences, have all been subtly and subconsciously telling us the truth: That belief is reality and reality is belief.

I have wondered if we could force meme magic, but it seems counterintuitive. People spread memes because they want to. Because they are entertaining or enjoyable or because they are fitting.

This makes me wonder if some of these memes are predetermined outcomes. If this is the will of Gods, then we propagate these memes because they are part of some prophetic element of reality. We were drawn to the symbol of the frogheaded man because Kek willed it. If it wasn't Pepe, it would have been something else.

However, if our memes are a manifestation of collective will, a focal point or totem, that means that our Frogheaded man, our Rarest Pepes, are something that has been made to resonate through time and space… But if we're accepting that it may mean that we've merely created a paradoxical God that leads us.

Of course, it's also possible that this is a sort of 4-dimensional game of connect the dots where certain elements allow us to glean cosmic truths and draw power from subtle knowledge and insight. This leads us to certain symbols which we empower through our memes and in-turn draw more power from, like >>220845 's first image. Creating power through desire and willpower. Willworking. Meme magic.

If we look at the wider spectrum of phenomenon, there's a chance that Gensokyo already does exist.

It's essentially a remix of many ancient memes, drawing from all kinds of stories and legends. Tales of parallel worlds ruled over by magical beings are quite common.

Now, depending on how you look at this, we're either going to have to find the right meme and empower it to make Gensokyo more real, or we are going to have to discover a series of smaller memes that carry an undeniable truth with them that subtly connects them.

Either way, there is a strange phenomenon surrounding some of North America's national parks. Each year people simply vanish entirely, leaving no trace or clue, and never a corpse.

Some of these disappearances have happened right in front of people. A woman walked over a hill with two friends several steps behind her and she was gone. The parents of a young boy looked away for a moment and he vanished. An experienced hiker walked into the woods and was never found again.

There's certainly something there.

Well, the appearance of youkai works exactly like meme magic. Taken from Symposium of Post-Mysticism on the appearance of Shout Toramaru:

>Byakuren: It's not quite right to say she was just a tiger. As you know tigers are not native to Japan. Back when scholarship was being brought over from the continent, an animal called a tiger was introduced too, but only as a word. The imagination of people wondering what they looked like was what gave birth to Shou.

>Marisa: That's not what I'd call just a tiger.

>Byakuren: Ahem. But she wasn't a youkai with a solid identity. It wouldn't have been strange for her to disappear at any moment. But when Lord Bishamonten and I asked her to guard our temple in our absence, her existence became firmly established.

Also according to some other lore that I can't find right now, most youkai are basically creepypasta that became real through belief. If meme magic is actually real, I'd say there is a pretty decent chance of Gensokyo existing too.

Look at our reality. We have everything star trek predicted, but incredibly expensive and unspectacular. Hoverboards, flying cars, 3d holograms, AI, you name it and we have something along those lines. This reality is about dealing with what we have to make what we want, lowering expectations to be appeased with second best.

What you want is the emperor of mankind.

What you get is real estate Lex Luthor with a comb over.

Welcome to Earth, not Terra.

Meme magic is shifting expectations to meet the reality at hand, forming causes for tangentially related effects. The Egyptians, the Aztecs & Olmecs, the Sumerians, Shinto priests today all knew this. In a way they did what the missionary galactus does in peacefully converting worlds to the imperium. Meme magic, to quote a certain ironic clockwork, is about creating context for people's everyday decisions.

The context is degeneracy and economic downfall. The magic is /pol/. The hero is Trump.

If any of the politicians win, it means another 4 years of the same old shit. We'll be deeper in debt, our currency will continue to devalue, and infrastructure problems will keep getting worse.

I often wish I didn't learn all the shit I did, I was happier. I can say I'm never sad now tho, too angry to be sad. Like anime. Want to know why it's so popular? We consume that which we seek, and we often seek what we are missing. A generation has sought the warm embrace of sincere woman, of governments by the people for the people, and where able bodied men are not the defacto bad guy. Where ones good actions are rewarded, people are not obese, and faces can become familiar.

We're on the verge of a cultural abyss, in some ways already sliding in, and Trump is the last best hope of stopping the creep of apathy, post-modern deconstruction, and god damn cultural relativism. I don't want to live in a country where pedophilia, communism, and sharia law have active advocates while reasonable debate is cause for imprisonment. I accept this as true. I also accept that mememagic is a power that is neither controlled nor controlling. What I mean by that is the correct answer to the question "Is mememagic guiding us, or do we use it?" is neither. The last thing you must accept is that there is no point of origin for the mememagic, it's power is so great it can even warp spacetime. We memed orcs into existence, their racial psycic matrix gave mememagic the power to create Gods, Said Gods were created thousands of years ago, and laid the foundations of mememagic so we could create orcs.

Once you internalize these teachings, true power will be yours.

This could possibly mean that the nature of reality as we know it is largely based on perception and our projected understanding.

>Implying he isn't trying to feed the EU's corruption so it will collapse and he can reclaim the papal states.

>dubs not checked for so long

Problem is not matter how it's put into a game it won't come close to how (it seems) meme magic actually is. If it actually requires many people to constantly shitpost to get something vaguely related to magically happen then it's like the old school MMO of schools of magic, back when data mining wasn't a thing.

The whole "muh swastika" thing is getting annoying

That symbol has existed for ages.

Hell, before I ever knew about Nazis, I was drawing them, and building them out of legos. Why? Because it is a fairly simple shape of a fanblade type lot.
