AN OPEN LETTER TO RPG.NET
Hello.
My name is Theodore Quigley, a 9 year member of RPG Net with over 14,000 posts. (I will not name the account here, for my safety; true regulars may use their imagination.)
As of this post, I (and many others) are leaving RPG Net permanently. I’m about to dive into some touchy subjects to explain this nauseating development, so do not continue if you are feint of heart.
RPG Net used to be an awesome place, in the wild west days of the mid-1990s. It started with the intent of creating a safe place for gamers to play and talk without threat of harassment. But it changed. Agenda-centric, scaly people got in at the administrative level, and once they had that the pendulum swung too hard, and now it’s rife with thought police. It is, essentially, a snake pit.
I am a liberal, but even I tire of the extremist agenda, the games criticism from nontalented people, the labeling of anyone who is interested in studying free speech or global politics as “conspiracy theorists”. I do not like it when frauds lie in my presence about things that matter to me. But I digress.
I could go on, but instead I will point to the tipping point: the rules. Things seem good at first glance, for a certain value of good. Their code of conduct, which you can find here, is quite nuanced, right? You know, no hate speech, no sexism, no racism, the kind of rules a sensible person would make!
But then you see this.

WHAT PLANET DO YOU LIVE ON? I’ll answer that: CLEARLY NOT OURS.
• Threadjacking discussion from the female to the male experience of an issue (Just tells me that “Listen and Believe” only applies to women.)
• Denying the experiences of female posters (LISTEN AND BELIEVE. WOMEN ARE NEVER WRONG. OBEY. SUBMIT.)
• Demanding to be educated on the subject (Yep, we’ve hit a new low.)
• Concern trolling (such as “But I’m concerned discussion of sexism will drown out discussion of the good things about $GAME”) (Anyone who’s brushed up on their David Icke knows why this is ridiculous.)
• Questioning the validity of sexism as a phenomena or a topic of discussion at RPGnet (“I’m a woman and I deny the existence of sexism based on my previous experiences”. What happens then?)
• Demanding that the debate be reframed (e.g. “This debate is too emotional”/”This should only be about solutions, not criticisms” etc.) (This is where I almost decided to leave quietly and let you light cigarettes in your proverbial Hindenburg, but no. I will not go gently into that good night.)
• Accusing other posters of looking to be offended (What?????)
• Accusing male posters of “White-Knighting” or otherwise arguing against sexism solely for the approval of women (I love how the rules themselves are sexist, how fitting of SSJWs.)
Not even a hardcore religious fundamentalist forum would have these rules. The moderators are a parody of themselves. They have become sidewinding SSJW crazytown. It’s communist totalitarian censorship 2.0. It’s cultural Marxism. The moderators are the actual, literal Outrage Gestapo.
