What niche, if any, do you think is missing the in the multi-genre / generic systems department?

> Savage Worlds does pulpy semi-heroic fiction well

> FATE does narrative wankery well, also the most freeform and easy to use IMO, even though I don't play it and prefer savage worlds

> GURPS for high-detail and "realism"

Do you feel like there is something missing? Do you think there'd be love for a d20-based system that threw basically everything about d20 out the window except for the core mechanic and maybe the ability scores? I know WotC wanted d20 to be a generic system a long time ago. Or an actually generic PbtA-esque thing, but a lot different than PbtA.

Owls are massively retarded, though.

Also most my dealing with them is them being weirdly happy in that way that someone who has no idea about anything can be.

BRP, which was shilled back during cuckchan to no end for some reason.

True20. It's no good, though.

I wish to know more about owls.

Using 1d20 is a horrible resolution system.

I hate to admit it but 3d6 in a modded d20 is far better.

You fags don't know bout my 10 coinflips.

It's a mechanic: You reach into your pockets and throw spare change at the table. Makes for really compelling play.

>>224561

Yeah but it also takes longer to add so you can't do multiple attacks as fast. I honestly feel like that was part of why gurps was roll-under. That and bypassing the need for "derived bonuses" for each attribute.

Owls are pretty cool, but >>223500 is right… They aren't very smart as far as birds go.

 No.224909

Where's the system that allows you to play an adorable owl doing adorable owl things?

 No.224936

SPACE ADVENTURES

Really, gimme a pulp sci-fi system with ray guns and robot armies and alien babes and whatnot

 No.224940

I want a game where the players take on the role of eldritch abominations and elder gods fighting over some world. You would start off weak, perhaps possessing one unlucky bastard or somehow manifesting in the world, and then you build your cult and grow stronger.

In the beginning, you'll probably work together to achieve common goals (set up an international cult, indoctrinate world leaders) and then you hit the apocalypse phase. The apocalypse is the phase of the game where each player is already a world power, and the time is right to reshape the world in his image. To do this, he must defeat the other players in a battle royale. So you'll be flinging nukes all over the place, summon armies of undead, sacrifice entire nations to fuel infernal rituals, all that - so you can rise as the supreme god of the setting and eat the world.

Basically, what starts as a low-level version of Demon: the Fallen ends up becoming Risk and Diplomacy, but with Lovecraftian overlords vying for supremacy.

What, like a tabletop version of Guardians of Ga'hool?

Sounds pretty sweet.

I would bet it needs its own special-made system. Most things don't have flying birds as playable race, after all.

I'm thinking if I went that route I'd make custom dice with 0-5 on them. The hump on that curve though.

 No.225076

>>223532

What's bad about it? I found out about it recently, and it seems like a "d20, but a little less crunch" kind of system, which is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Are there any alternatives?

 No.225143

>>224965

Nah nigga. I'm aware of it, but Illuminati is played for laughs. I want a horror game that starts on the street and ends up with players throwing demonically possessed MiG's at each other.

Where character options are Tzeentch, Cthulhu, and the Crimson King. And where each has unique win conditions that are in character, as well as the powers they wield. Where even the cards you play (if you wanna make it a card game) get levels and are customizable.

 No.225182

Nah, just count sixes as zeroes. As a bonus, this also means rolling all sixes is still the best result.

> I want a horror game that starts on the street and ends up with players throwing demonically possessed MiG's at each other.

I want this too now. I really want it. Fuck that sounds amazing. You could do it in GURPS, for sure, but it'd definitely require a serious chunk of GM prep.

>>225359

Seconding this, has anyone actually played Ee-buh?

yes that is how it's supposed to be pronounced

This. I've really wanted to do a homebrew Flash Gordon-esque, but that means building monsters and shit.

 No.227117

>>224936

If you use GURPS lite or modified savage worlds you can do a pulpy action-adventure pretty well
