So, my fellow DMs, I've got a question. Are there any particular characters or archetypes that you're just particularly fond of, and like to introduce into your game, assuming they aren't completely out of place?

I quite like the fat, jolly Baron, personally. I tend to model him after Baron Arald in the Ranger's Apprentice series. Great, big guy, usually quite jovial, wife and kid. Used to be an adventurer, and it's how he got to be where he is today, and so he likes to grease the wheels a bit for adventurers by offering them jobs whenever they come through. Usually finds an excuse to invite them to a feast and regale them with stories of "When I was a younger man" that can serve as plot hooks.
