Hey /tg/, anyone else here go super into detail when world building?

I've been working on a setting on and off for a few years now, and a couple of the things that I've written up for the setting

>different calendars for different regions/cultures

>different holidays and celebrations for various regions/cultures

>typical diets and lifestyles of the common person in the region

>the setting's playing card deck, with games to play with it and historical figures behind the face cards

>other tavern games for the setting for the different regions

>constellations/birthsigns

>scripts and written languages

>different political maps representing various times in the world's history

How in detail do you like to go for your world building, /tg/? Got any projects you're proud of?

I recently started making settings as an attempt to explain ridiculous shit. So my worldbuilding attempts became thought experiments about how to make some stupid idea work and have some internal consistency.

For example, I went with the idea of "a far future setting where everyone bioengineering becomes the norm for transhumanism". So instead of running into cyborgs and giant robots, everything is organic, bred in laboratories but still somehow manages to keep up and even surpass classical robots and stuff.

In the end, I ended with a setting in which several religious cults exist and vie for supremacy over the galaxy. Each cult developed from an ancient megacorp which produced biomods and other bioengineered stuff. Their creed is their marketing manifesto taken seriously and as religious dogma. Their cultists are basically fanboys who zealously proclaim how their stuff is the best stuff and are even forbidden from using the equipment the other cults make. Their battlecries are ads. All of them have different ways to reach "transcendence" which is in accord to what they were originally selling years ago. All that combined with epic fantasy about knights and warrior poets in the far future.

Other settings were "how would a universe work if there really were ridiculously overpowered characters capable of leveling mountains work" or "how would a space opera mixed with astrology work". Shit like that.

I think this thread is just different enough to not be considered the same thing as worldbuilding general.

I've got my own high fantasy setting that I'm proud of, its not complete yet in terms of wholey fleshing it out but its coming along, i call it Gundervarld. I've been trying really hard to map out its primary continent in hard detail with terrain and rivers and cities, all the while with political mappage, your kingdoms and their territories.

I've been meaning to make separate time versions of the regions, one in particular, 1700 years in the past when it was in its chivalrous golden age with their saintly knight king, 400 years later when the (Not not Roman) elves invade and conqueror and several slight versions to depict changes in kingdom territories, elvish acquisitions and loses in their holy wars against this region.

I really want to up my game, work out the religions, holidays, culture but I've been so dead from work and school. Does anyone have some pointers on how to organize such information and lore for your players? I've no good scheme on how to display lore in mass form.

For a setting, that also has Notroman Elves, I've been working on, I've considered putting everything: calenders, timelines, encyclopedia entries, chacter sheets, for an obsessive amount of pretty much irrelevant characters, into a giant binder, and just letting it loose on my players, but this is for kind of a grand strategy type game, and it might not really work for whatever your doing. You could always make a wiki, which would be especially cool if you used their new maps feature, and had it all linked up.
