Yes, it's PC as fuck.

Welcome to Pathfinder, where Asmodeus wants to oppress women because he's a sexist.

 No.227287

>>227211

There's a lot of Pathfinder. Some parts of it are PC while others aren't. The extent of the infection is going to be overhyped by all the people who are jealous of the cultural importance of mediums like video games and film and try to pretend that we're being overrun, but really we're just getting some overflow from SJWs who couldn't hack it in other industries even as professional victims.

This isn't to say we should ignore the problem entirely, however. SJWs spread when they aren't opposed, and our industry is small enough that even a small number of them can make up a big enough proportion of designers or community managers to be a significant problem.

Was the "everyone is bi" thing a cop-out of saying "with high enough cha you can seduce anyone?" (which is still retarded- even if you replace seduction with idolization which is something else), or genuinely SJW nonsense?

I too want to see a quote first hand.

All I can remember from book a friend had was the head of the town guard was banging the theater owner, and it was the town's worse kept secret.

Then I've heard of (but not read) "sexist" Asmodeus (butt hurt over a demon queen screwing him over), and a transgender orc paladin (Orc Paladin can be done well. But that's just barmy. Unless it's a Mulan situation which I doubt).

Just the iconic heroes and some select NPCs (when needed by romance subplot (see Shayliss Vinder in Rise of the Runelords). And also that female half-orc paladin who married a transgender human rogue, but the less said about Wrath of the Righteous the better) and only because they KNEW the inevitable fanfic writers would happen.

Most NPCs in modules and paths are either married, pursuing someone of opposite sex, or are completely undeclared in their proclivities.

>Just the iconic heroes

So yeah everyone in the setting

 No.227368

>>227363

you're attempting to be smug or something but really you're making a concerted effort to take everything at face value

seriously, by your logic Elminster would be useful

there are dozens of NPCs in a given adventure path, hundreds overall, but only 22 iconics:

Alahazra - Iconic Oracle

Alain - Iconic Cavalier

Amiri - Iconic Barbarian

Balazar - Iconic Summoner

Damiel - Iconic Alchemist

Dorn - Iconic Saint

Ezren - Iconic Wizard

Feiya - Iconic Witch

Harsk - Iconic Ranger

Hayato - Iconic Samurai

Imrijka - Iconic Inquisitor

Kyra - Iconic Cleric

Lem - Iconic Bard

Lini - Iconic Druid

Lirianne - Iconic Gunslinger

Merisiel - Iconic Rogue

Reiko - Iconic Ninja

Sajan - Iconic Monk

Seelah - Iconic Paladin

Seltyiel - Iconic Magus

Seoni - Iconic Sorcerer

Valeros - Iconic Fighter

the original purpose of the iconics was to give illustrators a base of each class to work off of when making artwork but they also provide players with quick-gen stat blocks

 No.227384

>>227368

It's also worth noting that almost all of the iconics have laughably ineffective troll builds.

What's wrong with it? Something someone in my group is considering running.

>>227384

 No.227449

>What's wrong with it?

I suppose the gameplay scenario's alright but it is the path where the lesbian half-orc paladin and her transexual human rogue wife are major characters (Irabeth and Anevia)

the gist of the backstory on them is that the rogue was dressed as a girl when he was a kid to avoid conscription or something and grew comfortable with it, fell in with a thieves guild, etc. Rescued from that life by the paladin who fell in love with him and sold her cherished father's sword to pay for a potion of sex change so that rogue could be who s/he felt like on the inside (converted cost to labor: a potion of sex change costs three and a half hours of romping in a level 1 dungeon)

Well, they are at the worldwound; good alchemists must be in short supply GOOD ALCHEMISTS ARE NOT IN SHORT SUPPLY

 No.227454

>>227424

They're printed in the backs of some adventure paths, as well as available for PFS players who don't bring their own characters. Off the top of my head:

Valeros, the Fighter, uses two weapon fighting with a longsword and shortsword – he benefits from Weapon Focus/Spec/Training with his longsword only. If he chucks his shortsword into a gutter, he becomes more effective. At higher levels, he can't seem to figure out what his Armor Training feature does.

Amiri, the Barbarian, takes Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword) and uses a large bastard sword in two hands. This costs her a feat and a persistent -2 to hit for the sake of 2d8+lots of damage instead of 2d6+lots. I guess the designers had to get a bit creative to screw up a level 1 Barbarian. If she chucks her weapon in the gutter and buys a greatsword/axe/club, she becomes much more effective.

Harsk, the Ranger, specializes in the heavy crossbow. Nuff' said.

 No.227458

To be fair, Asmodeus being a fucking sexist for no real reason IS kinda weird.

On the other hand, that also kinda is pre-existing D&D Lore. And isn't the current mortal ruler of the Empire he controls a woman?

That seems like something that might be interesting if they actually did anything with it, but I'm guessing they don't.

Pathfinder is the 'chuck everything in a bucket and call it depth' school of design top to bottom, so.

 No.227484

I would personally say that Asmodeus IS a misogynist, but only of convenience. He institutes a patriarchy, but only because HE'S male, not because he believes in any kind of male supremacy. If he were somehow a woman, you could bet your bottom dollar that Hell would be a matriarchy. The only thing that matters is that Asmodeus is at the top. The various -archies that he could put into place are just tools put to use to maintain an absolute order.

Course he might also just be salty at some of the lady gods for getting up in his grill. I dunno.

 No.227487

Heavy crossbows can be good.

When you're not a first level character without vital strike.

 No.227506

>>227484

You'd think pure entities made out of "moral choice" (good / evil , wtf?) would not be concerned by having genitals. And yet you keep hearing angels have no dick / are androginous and devils are all big, manly, horny… Sexy… Uhm… Things. Then comes the succubus, which I am not sure where it comes from, and ENJOYING sex (in christian religion, it's not the sexual activity that's wrong, it's enjoying it… So you're supposed to plow your breeder with a constant frown if you want to go to heaven) and the lust that comes with it is part of the big bad sin and all.

Therefore the Christian religion is basically a reversal of the SJW ideals, where what they don't like (free sex and actual gender identities, manliness and womanliness, etc) is placed in the "evil" end of the spectrum and being an androgynous, bigoted faggot without dreams or desires is placed on the good end of that spectrum.

>>227368

I'm applying basic common sense logic…?

"ICONICS"

You want a synonym?

PROTAGONISTS

EXAMPLES

THE CHARACTERS THAT PERSONIFY THE GAME SETTING AND EXEMPLIFY THE MECHANICS AND SET THE TONE AND WHICH WERE CREATED AND APPROVED DIRECTLY BY THE LEAD DESIGNERS TO BE EXAMPLES OF CHARACTERS ONE SHOULD CREATE TO BE A PLAYER OF THE GAME

And they're all SJW-touched fags

What do you think is the message here

I don't know if I am more disgusted by a lesbian feeding the mental illness of a young man to be her fuck toy, or that a permanent sex change potion is so cheap and easy to acquire.

You could have had a twinky guy and a straight Orc with the exact same effect (passive man, butch woman).

 No.227598

The best part about Pathfinder is that it's part of the D&D universe that was split off as the result of the creation of the far realm, leaving it's denizens utterly victim to the Designs of the Cthulu Mythos pantheon, whilst All of Forgotten realms lays comfy in it's own pseudo reality with the chance of surviving the awakening of Azathoth at Cthulu's awakening and not being affected, or beign destroyed but remaining as some figment of existence in azathoth's memory when it wakes up, so in the event of it falling to slumber once more there may be something left or the like.

Interestingly, it seems that you can access this universe via a Portal owned by The aboleth Elder that only it can access or some such which exists in the D&D setting.

There's another way in, but I forgot what it was.

 No.227610

>Lashunta men are a stark contrast to their powerful, shapely women. They stand barely half the height of their female counterparts and are nearly twice as broad and are covered in hair. Their rugged appearance and skill in battle might be deceiving, however, as they are just as intelligent as Lashunta women and have an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

1.) The money people make in universe versus what PCs get is fucked from a narrative standpoint

2.) Their backstory has jack and shit to do with any of the campaign, far as I can tell, much like pretty much everything else in NPC backstories. They are just there for the GM to use to know who they are dealing with and the PCs will never have to know.

 No.227731

>>227458

The Queen of Cheliax is indeed a woman, and the series does have its fair share of male and female villains.

Though there is a literal demon lord of misogyny in the setting. He came from a barbarian tribe that treated women like property and got screwed over in a deal by Baba Yaga, so he hates all women now.

 No.227780

>>227506

You seem a bit retarded on the matter but let me help you out with that.

No, lust is good as it leads to children but excess lust is what is frowns on. All the sins are good in small doses like pride or righteous wrath but an excess is what is wrong. Also if we are talking about Christian angels and demons you realize that they take on a human form when dealing with humans, what they actually look like is far different than human. Hell most of them have four heads and six wings.

No, Christianity had nothing to do with SJW ideals and your current view on Christian values is laughable and reddit tier at best.

A quick run down of the values:

Faith is belief in the right things

Hope is taking a positive future view, that good will prevail.

Charity is concern for, and active helping of, others.

Fortitude is never giving up.

Justice is being fair and equitable with others.

Prudence is care of and moderation with money.

Temperance is moderation of needed things and abstinence from things which are not needed.

I hope this clears things up for you and you be less retarded in the future.

>I'm applying basic common sense logic…?

no logic here.

you distinctly stated "So yeah everyone in the setting" >>227363

Yes, the setting heroes, being blank slates, are bisexual as are a couple of NPCs

they do NOT comprise 100%, or even 5%, of everyone in the setting

let's refine that: even when you eliminate unimportant NPCs such as the dozen or so named shopkeeps in a given adventure, the bisexual, homosexual, or otherwise sexually deviant characters don't even comprise a number equal to or greater than 5% of important characters

therefore your logic is flawed and your statement is at best smug assholery
