Happy Sanguinala to everybody, dear neckbeards. Or at least, it will be soon! In the name of the Adeptus Terra, I say that lets use this moment to be friendly between brothers, and lets just be comfy.

And to remember the great sacrifice that the great Sanguinius did in its famous last stand against the Arch-traitor, and so the great effort that their sons, the Blood Angels, do to prevent "Non-autorished accidents". So its important to make the population conscious of the grave problem that its the Red Thirts, and its consequences. And no, dear citizen, the Blood Angels doesnt have a "Black Rage" or worse thing, that Chaos propaganda, or just bad rumors by dumb people scared of them. To think otherwise is heresy, and it punishment is high!

Luckily, A new animated series starring the Blood Angels is being made now, so lets see if with this there will be more animated series & movies (That are good, and arent Ultramarine-Tier)

Lets start this new general thread!

The teaser of Angels of Death , the Blood Angels animation that I mentioned in the OP. Any opinion about it?

It looks better than the Ultramarines movie and it has a Warlord in it, so I'll keep my interest up.

Speaking of titans, fucking hell. I was close to preordering pic related, but somehow forgot about it. So I just headed over to the BL page and looked up the sample chapter...

>The First Huntress

>There was wind upon her skin.

>The breeze was a memory, but it felt real all the same. Life in the tank blurred the past into the present. What was and what had been existed in the same moment for her. Her life had become one long book to be browsed at will, so it did not seem so very strange to smell the animal scents of the mega-herds on the breeze, even though for over a century all she had smelled, tasted and felt was blood-warm amnion. At one and the same time Mohana Mankata Vi was entrapped in the skull of Luxor Invictoria, and she was astride her mount, Hamaj, and she was a sleeping child. She was telling the story of the day the Legio was born to a class of her daughters on Tigris. She was young. She was old.

FUCK THIS. I just want to pop a beer, scratch my balls and read about giant gothic mechs shooting each other up, to enjoy one of the few remaining western franchises not completely pozzed to hell. But nope, can't have that. Here, have some shitskin woman in a Titan reminiscing about the day she shewed everyone what a stronk independent womyn she is by winning a race against knights on a horse.

This book is supposed to be about the greatest titan battle in the history of the imperium, and THIS is how this faggot author decide to open it up. Please excuse me while I wash this bad taste out of my mouth with some 80s mecha anime. Or bleach, that would do the trick.

Go look at the types of people they are hiring post Kerby GW. Its nothing but fucking diversity hires who hold zero connection to the 40k universe. It is being pushed so fucking hard.

So... Wrath and Glory anyone?

Have some free rules:

I've played it in a oneshot, and it's fun. Lacks material, right now you can pretty much just play the most baseline characters of the Imperium, plus maybe an Ork or an Eldar. It's good, just needs more material for it to be really, really fun.

Gameplay is organized into Tiers 1-5, which just deteriermines starting point investment for characters, and a flat bonus that is added to most things. Rank 1 is basically Only War, Tiers 2-3 is Dark Heresy, while Tier 3-4 is more like Deathwatch.

System uses d6 dicepool system. You roll Stat + Skill number of dice, which, at tier 3, usually comes out to be 8-9 dice for your best skills. 4 and 5 on the dice are +1 Success, 6 is +2 and can be shifted in combat. You total successes trying to hit a Target number for difficulty, attackers winning ties. You have one off-color d6 you always roll as part of your total number of dice(if you're rolling 6 dice, then that's 1 red dice, and 5 blue). If the red dice rolls a 1 or a 6, they count as a narrative bonus or complication, or in combat they can confirm critical hits on a 6.

Combat is fairly simple. Move Action, Action, plus free actions, with various abilities being able to modify which actions can be classified as such. You roll a combat skill, see if you get enough successes against your opponent's Defense. Then you roll damage. any 6's leftover after you succeed on a hit are shifted, which means you roll that many d6 in addition to your weapon's damage. This is usually a flat number, plus a d6. For example, a Bolter Rifle is 10+1 Extra Dice. This number is subtracted from the Armor Stat, and anything leftover does damage to your opponent. Weapons also have traits such as Armor Piercing, etc, that modify their damage and crits.

Overall feels like a pretty good representation of 40k in RPG format without being excessively complex, or too sparse. Just needs more character options, and more material for GMs to use.

Can't have that, random means it might come out WITHOUT enrichment!.

Also, looking through the other books, Warlord and Gates of the Devourer also has a female princeps as the MC, while Titanicus, the Titan comic and Imperator seems to be normal. Are there any other books explicitly about Titans?

Do you have a favorite Space Marine First Foundation chapter or a list of preference? In my case when about loyalist, its hard to say a favorite, and this can change, although now I can say im between Raven Guard, Space Wolfs, Blood Angels as first, with either Imperial Fists & Ultramarines as second or also very well liked; Least liked or interested is between Iron Hands & Salamanders. I like Space Marine armies to be fast deployed, heavy hitting, and always ready for melee (Not precisely exclusive), so thats why im between said three armies: Raven Guard can be too stealthy for my tastes, but I love style, tactics & beakies; Blood Angels are gods at Drop deployment, fast assault, and have Death Companies; While Space Wolves are a more simple but still awesome army with good aesthetics.

Imperial Fist is more different and more defensive & vanilla, but thats why I like them too, because when not at the offensive good to have a more normal & shooty faction. Ultramarines, memes aside,I like them, it just that its annoying to see them every time, that is true.

About traitor chapters, its hard for me to say about favorites, maybe I can say that World Eater are the one I have least interest, but hard to say a favorite one.

Well, what about you, anons?

I love the Black Templars but cannot stand painting fucking black armor as it is nothing but retarded ass edge hightlighing. The Salamanders just have a derpy color scheme to me, it will never look cool in my eyes even though I love the lore.

I was thinking about painting my Primaris to be Flesh Tearers however the lore prevents me from doing so. Plus the colors are not well suited to tanks.

File: 969bb8b051574cc⋯.png (2.57 MB, 1154x1800, 577:900, sanguinius.png)

Stop drunkposting OP.

Headcanon time. Besides the 3 new organs primaris marines are just a throwback to great crusade/heresy era space marines. Marines have been getting smaller and weaker over the millennia due to degradation of the DNA in their gene seeds. Primaris marines are larger and stronger because their gene seeds are more pure and 30k marines were also larger than 40k marines

Top five is probably

1. Dark Angels

2. Iron Warriors

3. Blood Angels

4. Thousand Sons

5. White Scars

1,3,& 4 are based on lore. 2 & 5 are based on enjoyment playing them on the tabletop

Lamenters have always been my favorite. Fuck that checkerboard

Iron Warriors are my favourite out of them all, if I had to pick a favourite loyalist chapter I'd probably lean towards Dark Angels

How come the original Traitors from the Horus Heresy are the same size as regular marines then?

Slaanesh likes small boys.

We don't talk about it.

I thought Slaanesh liked

No, no, that's Tim Curry, but I see how you made the mistake.

File: 9aacb4f56832cdf⋯.jpeg (99.35 KB, 1125x600, 15:8, Rat-wheeze.jpeg)

Its got a new name now.

Night Lords, loved them since 3rd Ed. Revilers, same. Raven Guard, eh.

Imperial fists>raven guard>ultramarines>thousand sons (pre-heresy) for me.

Iron Warriors for the paint scheme, Alpha Legion for the tactics, Woofs and Sallies for being nice to people.

I thought they were usually bigger?

IIRC in most of the writings contemporary marines were described as being 7'0"-7'6" with some odd balls being taller. In the Horus heresy novels we regularly see marines that are 8 foot or taller. I remember some author joked that marines seem to keep getting bigger, probably just BL authors trying to one up each other. If I was in charge of writing a codex I'd do a necron tier retcon and just say that the primaris marines are just genetically pure marines with some new equipment.

Explain how Kharn, Typhus, and the various other pre-heresy Chaos Marines are the same size as Tacticals then. Abaddon was supposed to be massive for a Marine.

Got me there.

Who are the dork gods of chaos?

>One friend got me a telemon dreadnought while another got me an achillus dreadnought for christmas.

>Both are russian recasts, but it is still nice to have them.

Anyone know a good color scheme for custodes? I was thinking of so far having them colored black with gold shoulders and red plumage/cloth. Would blue plumage/cloth look better for that you think?

I paint mine like a aged bronze and I find purple goes nice with it.

The switch to realscale is going to get weirder and weirder and at some point they're going to have to stop excusing it with 'lore'; the newest Eldrad figure is damn near a third bigger than a typical Eldar guardian measured head to foot.

it's the hot new meme from reddit. dork sounds like dark, gettit?

>Eldrad stops being a dick

I just saw this video recently, and the guy explains that, although Primaris Marines are a good concept, they are placed wrong & badly in the game/setting. And he thinks that the Primaris Space Marines should have been a Chaos thing from the beginning.

After all, The ones who have been interested into making new/better soldier, more than Space marines, have always been guys like Fabius Bile, Honsou, and other Chaos guys.

So shouldnt the Primaris Marines be a new weapon fitting to be released for the 13th Black Crusade? While the Imperium just have Guilliman back, and maybe new tech from Belisarius Cawl, Chaos, besides a successful Black Crusade, would start having a way to replace its forces (With better ones!) in a steady way; With only whatever Primaris renegades, or Primaris gene-seed stolen from Chaos, as Primaris Loyalist for the Imperium.

Hell, precisely Primaris Marines would be really fitting for Iron Warriors (and other non-Chaos heavy traitor legions). Imagine a horde of Iron Giants with huge guns, and imparable. Would be good to have something not too mutated or Warped in the Chaos faction instead of Chaos-specific stuff, and daemons.

Any toughs?

I usually just go with most people and say that Primaris Marines are really just what Spess Mehrines were like back in the day, with a purer gene-seed stock. Millenia of DNA atrophy slowly reduced marines to their current state, and Guilliman provided the necessary material to revitalize that stock.

That'd be neat, but the imperium would have to be pretty desparate to try reverse engineering something by the forces of chaos. Like the fall of Cadia to a legion of primaris chaos marines in the 13th black crusade.

Primaris are just an update for regular marine models.

However, the space marines are the foundation of GW's business: if they change them in any major way it could be catastrophic for them. So instead what they did was they released a "new" type of space marines, Primaris, in order to test the waters/get people used to the idea of new truescale power armour.

What I hope is that they retcon Primaris stuff entirely in the future, because it's gay, and just pretend that the models are normal space marines and space marines were always like that.

Power armour has always looked goofy, Terminator armour even more so, in terms of how the guy is supposed to fit inside it and how he's expected to move around with the giant shoulder pads and backpack getting in the way. It's about time they were updated. I hope they do Terminators too.

I got some regular custodes guard, and I was wondering how many I should make into either spear users or storm shield guys. I was thinking making four shield users and six spear users.

Still waiting on that Inquisitor movie.

Inquisitor movie was canned, instead he is doing some good looking but bland and uninteresing series about strong womyn & generic sci-fy FPS soldiers.

GW dumped it because not enough Space Marines

Instead we're getting something about Blood Angels

What? Really? I need source for that, because I cant believe that a movie that would have Inquisitors and GREY KNIGHTS (you know, superior psiquick astartes!) Would be cancelled because it had to have a bunch of normal space marines!

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

But its already out anon.

Shit-posting aside; I always read about how "most" groups have made their own Inquisitor/Necromunda hybrid of a 4k game, yet I have never seen such a thing. Tell me, what would a Narrative focused 40k be like? I'm not talking about advancing the story line or shit like that, but like a typical rpg. Like having your independent models gain xp and you keep track of their injuries. Or if squads would level up and actually reflect their status as veterns? Of course all of this wouldn't just be a single game you could crank-out in an afternoon, more like a campaign. Except you could take your army from one group/session and have it fight another army from a different session/group.

Does "as long as the blood flows" only apply to blood from injuries, or just anything that makes blood flow? Does donating blood count as worshiping Khorne?

>Does donating blood count as worshiping Khorne?

As long as it's not your own blood.

Probably, unless you're HIV positive, then its Nurgle worship

>Bang whore - Pleases Slaanesh

>Get blood test - Pleases Khorne

>Why did I do this ? - Pleases Tzeentch

Instant Daemon Prince

I recall a short story where a Khorne berserker saw Kharn coming towards him and let Kharn cut his head rather than fight back, because he knew that his blood and skull would go to Khorne. I think as long blood flows, Khorne's happy, though he prefers some methods more than others.

My first Chaos marine is now painted. I got my color scheme perfected so I'll be finishing up my other marines.

Maybe vidya related, but I want to try Chapter Master, but for starters, im not sure I installed it well, because I cant see the marine when choosing the heraldry/colors for a custom Chapter, although everything else works well. Also, where/how I can put more icons/images to amplify the options available?

Im hyped for the finale.

What's the significance behind the white arm?

Over the course of the holidays I some how got 4 helverins added to my knight castellan. I'm a chaos player and want to put these expensive models to use so I was thinking of finishing off the list with 2 knight gallant. I don't want to add more than 4 armigers and I would appreciate any ideas for a chaos knight house list.

It's more of a tan really, but I want something grounded in where they are from. All three colors of their armor represent something of their Fortress world. The tan is the same color as the ramparts and fortresses, the light blue the unpolluted sky (Industry is deep underground), and the dark purple the banners that hang everywhere made from local silk. The banners are similar to what the Nazi's did, but much, much larger in scale.

>remove moldlines

>drill your barrels

>take more time/care doing your edge highlighting

>use washes

>take the time to neaten any mistakes

>white dot with glaze for easy eyes

>drybrush selectively

You know. Now that I think about it, is there any homebrewed IG,Space Marine or Tempestus army based in either Third Reich, or any fascistic european army/nation? Like a Tempestus Scion bassen in the Waffen SS or a Space Marine chapter based in the Thule Order, or an IG regiment based in the Romanian Iron Guard. There are a lot of X thing..IN SPESSH! in 40K, but cant se anything similar. Its just not being redpilled, is that I cant find anything like that.

The absolute closest that I can think of is maybe the Steel Legion, and even then I think they're just based on the army, rather than the nation itself.

>remove moldlines

I have no idea why this model wasn't scraped and sanded like the others. I chose it for my first marine paintjob for a reason.

>drill your barrels

I'd rather not drill to be honest.

>take more time/care doing your edge highlighting

Yeah I realized that one, but for my first one I am more than happy.

>use washes

I did.

>take the time to neaten any mistakes

I spent so much time and paint on this model already.

>white dot with glaze for easy eyes

I had to redo the front of the face after I tried making the eyes. I need a thinner brush. I also tried Blood for the Blood god, but that didn't work out as well as I wanted.

>drybrush selectively

Death to drybrush! Long live layer painted lines!

Uh Blood for the Blood God is the technical effect, not really that red glaze which happens to be Bloodletter. Please tell me that that's just a typo on your part

Just Steel Legion, they're as close as you get. Although it wouldn't be out of place to homebrew some cross between the dkok and steel legion.

Trisdekanon here with yet another weird little side project.

THE HERETICAL MUSEUM OF V.A. BEAU is an armoury book about dumb weeb shit, specifically weapon and equipment rules for weapons and equipment from a variety of manga, anime and Jap video games.

So far all version 0.1 has is equipment from Bloodborne, Re:Creators and RWBY, but it will hopefully grow to include so, so much more. So if you want almost 50 different weapons with a flimsy framing narrative holding them all together...

yeah that's the one. I hope the pics of the rest of his army are out there somewhere.

Sad part was talking to designers and asked about battlefleet gothic and was told "to start that over from scratch we would basically have to stop all over specialist titles for 2 years so its not in the works" but he also said "now in terms of specialist games maybe a great city from the old world vanished and thousands of years later its followed the worlds core and will appear in the realm of twilight" so cheeky cunt is saying mordheim wasn't destroyed but got lost in time and space and now its coming back. From the Community article, p sure he's special character.

>eye of horus on his leg

>been teasing an Abaddon plastic kit redesign

o-oh boy here we go.

Guess it's the Black Legion's time to shine after all the love the Death Guard got. Do you think they're going to go through and give attention to the other legions, or are they going to be ignored like usual?

Well they confirmed that the Slaanesh in AoS and 40k is the same entity and he/she/it is breaking out soon and thats why there are new demons coming out. With the Noise Marine showing up i imagine thousands sons will be left on the back burner with khorne this year.

TS are done, EC & WE should be good (now GW has decided it's willing to release Slaanesh models again), but I wouldn't hold your breath for the others.

The Khorne Berzerker kit is almost old enough to legally drink, and it's not the only one. There are a ton of kits that GW should probably update, and they just keep putting it off.

Yeah, since they replaced the old ork vehicles that's probably the kit that needs an update the worst.

Fuck Khorne. Yes i said it. They are the most overplayed fucking thing. They are angry beserkers that worship bloodshed. Its fucking done. They are slightly more lame than Black Legion, the nega Blueberries.

Its time for degenerate gimp marines to shine!

Not that I don't want new EC too, but, ah

>most overplayed thing

>models last updated in 1957

>Its time for degenerate gimp marines to shine!

I do think the same. Too bad that GW only thinks of Slanessh stuff as just putting boobs, and being half-naked to a faction, instead of being more than that. Slanessh and Tzeench being gods of degenerancy, pure Chaos, complot, and distruption, should be the highest & more dangerous Chaos Gods to mankind. But instead we had Khorne mania in the early period of the game, and now Nurgle is Games Workshop Chaos Star.

khorne has been pushed in AoS as much as sigmarines like they want them to be fantasy black legion when slaves to darkness exists. If you play both Khorne and Nurgle rule the roost.

thank fuck Da Bad Moon is being confirmed a minor chaos god or something and shits getting more varied.

How is tzeencht degenerate?

the patron god of transvestites?

That's still Slaanesh though. Tzeentch is the god of putting your nose where it doesn't belong and stirring up revolutions.

All I want is a plastic Obliterater kit, if GW only throws the Iron Warriors one bone, let it be that.

I'd kill for stuff for the other legions, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. If they release Angron and Fulgrim along with codex EC and WE, then we might see more. Waht I want though is for CSM to get 95% of what they could get/use in HH just to compete with the Primaris shit

I mean, that would actually make sense. The Imperium gets Space Marines 2.0, the Traitor Legions get Heresy-era equipment, and maybe some new stuff from the Dark Mechanicus.

what if you're revolting against a degenerate order? degenerates don't have a monopoly on the concept of revolution.

What is everyone working on right now? I found a land raider at a local flee market missing its heavy bolter turret and the treads. I managed to make a heavy bolter tripod out of some square bits and a defiler heavy bolter side arm, and then I covered it up with some armor bits on the front. The treads I replaced with some cut tape measure and some rhino tread bits over that, and it looks ok. I still need to paint over it to truly see how it would look, but it is hard to beat something like this for only 18 dollars.

I still don't understand the point of funkoshit. They look pretty bad and bland, yet people still buy tge damn things up.

I have some friends that have a collection of them. They only took one or two out of the boxes and keep the rest inside. I showed them some of the figurines I got and they liked the details of those. Hell, they could get a decent figure if they chose not to buy a few boxes of funko.

It bears repeating, that if one has failed one's ancestors and the very calling of nature, and you find yourself in a situation wherein all your means are freely available to squander on plastic effigies instead of securing the future of your bloodline, you can at least do so with a modicum of style.

Why declare to all audience that you are a mindless NPC with your shelves full of soulless, debased funko-pops, that you have no sense of beauty or appreciation of art and exist solely to throw your resources at whatever trinkets our spiritual enemies cobble up for whichever Hollywood abomination is in vogue at the time?

I struggle to even conceptualise the mind of one that would willingly do so when instead they could drop 20k yen on a top quality 1/7 waifu figure and show everyone their deep and principled understanding of the metaphysical ideals of æstethics. I am increasingly forced to believe that such people, if one can even call them by such a lofty term, indeed have no real mind of their own, being mere husks and ontological nonentities without any sort of anima to tether them to the world of ideals, whether chthonic or solar.

Truly, if it ever becomes known to me that any of my acquaintances own but a single funko, I will have to insist they perform a ritual cleansing before stepping as much as a toe into my temple of æstethic indulgence. That is, if I would even allow them in at all.

I propose that we strive to catalogue each and every one that ever willingly purchase a funko, so that they and their descendants can be marked for culling or peasant serfdom when the Autistocracy finally ascends to restore the balance to this horrendous world.

>when instead they could drop 20k yen on a top quality 1/7 waifu figure

Because that becomes an awful slippery slope.

t. buyf/a/g with 100+ figures

Figurines, particularly the ones in the 25-35 mm range, are too small to be easily seen on a shelf. The funkopop things are much larger, usually more colorful without having to sit down and paint them, and signal nerdhood with minimal effort. Put yourself in the shoes of the shallow Funkopop purchaser for a moment and imagine trying to show your friends that you're geekchic with a handpainted IG army worth a thousand points. Now imagine how much easier it would be if you tried it with six or seven different Deadpools, two Reys, and a couple of Harry Potter themed lumps of silicon/plastic/whatever that crap is.

I used to call it peacocking, before I realized how accurate it is to the phenomenon. Some people actually do try to use this sort of thing to attract the opposite sex.

The best case scenario is, yeah they're coming back. Worst case, and probably the most likely case, is a funkopop marine.

I am running a black crusade game, and one character is very close to becoming a daemon prince. For his main mission to reach princedom, he wants to get into the black library and steal something.

How realistic would this be? Should it be a very small section that he encounters?

Not really possible, his character would have to be on par with Ahriman if not greater to pull that off.

I kind of figured. His infamy is over 100, so he has a good amount of pull and resources. Almost enough to rival some of the named chaos champions. He is nowhere near a great combat character. He is a complete social Slanaash guy, so I don' think it would work either. We do have a level 10 psyker on the team, but he has little characteristic advancements.

I'll suggest destroying a minor craftworld instead.

File: 7856dadfdd351b4⋯.png (1.11 MB, 1469x1597, 1469:1597, Cegorach_Fullbody.png)

>Slanaash champion

>in the black library

the sheer amount of hatred that the eldar and Ahriman would have for that character would be world-shattering.

It goes even beyond that since he also fucked with harlequins, Grey knights, some space marine chapters, and even custodes near the end of this campaign. He has stacked so many good bonuses to every social check that it gets either funny or aggravatingly broken at times.

He likens himself to a playwriter who loves tragedies and irony more than anything else. He tried to criticize a death jester on how to act before. He managed to lie and convince a decent number of marines that their captain was a traitor and the source of the chaos incursion with such a convincing tale they got inspired by him. He is a mortal too. He got up on a perch somewhere to hide and drink wine while it happened and then backstabbed the survivors to sacrifice them to summon a keeper of secrets.

Sounds cool as fuck

If you have 100+ high quality waifu figures, you might be a hopeless weeb that will never procreate, but you also have a objectively impressive collection of art that show off your wealth. If you have 100+ Funko pops, you-re just a bugan with no taste.

Esha snapped back into her body. The power of the Machine-God slammed into her. She arched her back and cried out with pleasure that edged into pain. Notification chimes sang joyfully all over the cockpit. 'Domine has woken!' shouted Mephani Ohana, possessed by the machine's eagerness to fight. 'We're ready!' 'A little more respect - use the correct cant,' said someone. The tone was snappy, like Yeha. But it didn't sound like her, and the words were slurred. Esha, in her new state of ecstasy, could not tell who had spoken.

>Only space marines that know what to do with space marines

Alpha legionaries were unironically the best Astartes. They were the assassinorum before the assassinorum. There are several instances of single Alpha legionnaires going John Wick on entire squads of marines. Fuck the space corgis, the Alpha Legion were the real executioners.

So what the fuck do meltaguns fire? Microwaves or some shit?

They fire melta.

There seems to be conflicting accounts as to whether they're loud or quiet, and I'm not sure what exactly a heat beam weapon does differently to a laser. Lasers in 40k are weak, if they're smaller than a Lascannon.

Lasers are only weak compared to shit like .50 cal machine guns, a lasgun is still powerful enough to blow a dudes arm off or disembowel them.

They shoot "Promethium," which is a ultra-hot gas. They go *FWOOSHHHHHHHH* But instead of regular fire, its fucking lava.

File: e313ba5a48e5605⋯.jpg (362.49 KB, 1000x1000, 1:1, battle1.jpg)

I had my first real battle with my Chaos marines today and lost. I think 2 things lost me the battle: I fielded too many big models and spent too much time shooting the dreadnought.

Battle started with me advancing forward with my maulerfiend and cultists. I moved my hellwright and decimator into position behind the building. My Chaos marines stood in the trench and my forgefiend moved up a tiny bit. I used my Decimator and Hellwright to kill 3 scouts with snipers on the building as I was afraid of them picking off my HQ right away. My forgefiend shot at the dreadnought. Opponent raped my maulerfiend AND my cultists his first turn. He moved up with his tacticals and the dreadnought came up behind them. Spent the next turn shooting at his dreadnought, did jack shit. CSM shoot one of the tactical squads and brings it down to only the Sargent. Sargent charged and punched my decimator to death. Other tactical team melta'd my hellwright into dust and raped my CSM. Called it when I only had my forgefiend left. He lost a tactical squad and a scout squad.

What can I do to be better?

The main problem is that you focused on the dreadnought and moved your guys a little to aggressively first turn. What type of dreadnought was it? They can be huge and cheap distractions Having a lot of vehicles is ok if you mix in both anti-vehicle and anti-horde options. Having all vehicles is not a complete meta strategy though except for certain lists or factions. Examples being ork walker lists being fun and decent alongside tank companies.

Using the fire power you did to take down snipers also may have been a bad move since it could have taken down those special weapon squads, as those get very dangerous. If you are worried about your hq, you can put him in a transport.

It was a venerable dreadnought with twin lascannons.

My forgefiend had the Heavy 4 hades autocannons and my decimater had Heavy 4 Butcher cannon and Assault 5 storm laser. I think either of them could be used to take out infantry if needed. I was really hoping my maulerfiend and cultists would have done the job though.

It is good you focused on the dreadnought then, as that is something worth focusing on with a list like yours. You might have had a better time with at least a lascannon or multi-melta thrown in for good measure. You might have wanted to focus on the tactical squads first before the snipers still, especially if the ones with melta guns got that close to you.

Forgot to add, but maulerfiends are better off killing bigger stuff than tactical squads.

So, I'm thinking of getting into 40k, and more specifically into Orks, and realize I'm probably going to need to buy a lot of models. Where do I start as far as looking into pricing, what kind of units I want to buy in bulk, what ones I want to buy so I can Kitbash, etc?

Not sure where I want to start as far as building an Army. I know I want to be able to take down Girlyman if anyone runs him, and maybe I'd like to run Ghazghull if I can afford his point cost.

I suppose what I want most is a good generalized army that will give any army I'm likely to face at 1000-2000 pts at least a good challenge and is able to mostly adapt to any situation they're thrown at if I choose the right strats or Kultures.

Ebay is your best friend. Ghazghull is an ok model, but his point cost is massive for what he himself can do. Bikes are terrible for orks this edition, and that is a shame since I used to run a lot of them, but the Defftrike is actually a decent model if you run a vehicle or stormboy heavy army.

Stormboys are pretty good this edition. and kommandos are a decent pick as well if a little fragile from morale. If you do take kommandos, remember to take the index specials weapon options. Having a few kan squads is always nice since it is east to underestimate their shooting and even their melee. Deff dreads make great distraction carnifexes this time around. Battlewagons are only there to hold your lootas, tankbustas, nobz, and flashgits. The only thing really worth taking with them is a deffrolla and four big shootas.

For other choices, the only planes worth taking are dakkjets and those bik mek jets are worht taking. For buggies, the best option right now are the scrapjets. The shokkjumps are also ok, but every other new buggy choice is worthless. The old index rokket buggies, big shoota buggies, and skorcha buggies are ok as distractions and are decently cheap. Big guns and gretchin squads are solid this time around, but don't keep havign a ton of them when you can have some more boyz.

File: 0343404fa1c2d0b⋯.jpg (85.26 KB, 600x399, 200:133, bigboss41.jpg)

File: b072590ec29f484⋯.jpg (67.93 KB, 600x399, 200:133, bigboss44.jpg)

Thanks. Ghazzy isn't a hard point, so I think I'll drop him in favor of having some unique Warbosses and Big Meks, though I'm not too big a fan of the Mega Armour variant, Orks already look Bulky enough as is. Same problem with Ghazzy.

Actually, for my main unit, I'm probably going to look for something with less armor. I like the idea of a musclebound Ork with a Powerklaw, and no upper Armor similar to pics, except standing straight up in contrast to being hunched like most Orks.

Megabosses are only able to be used with the index sadly, but they are not the greatest thing this edition since you can get so many cheapass warbosses with big choppas. Having a lot of detachments is a good thing, so keep that in mind.

What klan do you want? All of them have upsides and are worth considering. The best part about orks is that kitbashing, so do that if you think you can. I have an eldar tank and some old toy all converted to be battlwagons. I also have a hellbrute turned into a deffdread, and I have a heldrake I turned into some biker ork driving a meked up daemon engine I treat as a wazbom.

I forgot to mention, but both morkanauts and gorkanauts are pretty good this edition and worth considering.

If you want a fun ork conversion idea, you could do what someone did at my local game store. He took the boss from the defftrike kit and turned it into Gitshiro, a master of the ork martial art Orkydo killakan.

I'm probably going to do a custom Klan name, really try and make /mydudes/ out of this army, but Blood Axes and Death Skulls seem to be the two I want most. Orks are mostly Melee focused, so TAKTIKS seems good for approach, while Lucky Blue Gitz seems to be almost as useful, but more versatile, and Dis is Ours! Zog Off! seems vital if I join the Campaign my FLGS is starting, though that depends on the type of match played.

Both of those are great. If your doing a more walker heavy army, than Deathskullz are essential. Blood axes are also great as well if you have a slightly more shooty army but still want some melee benefits.

It was a 750 point game so I didn't have much wiggle room for adding in another big gun. I'd have to sacrifice my cultists for a helbrute with a multimelta, but then I would be left with only large models. Plus my cultists are the only models I have painted so far.

I've found the lasher tendrils do nice against infantry most of the time.

Big Meks in MA, grots, runtherds, grot tanks, grot mega tanks, and killa kans. All you need to have superior firepower and meatshields to protect them.

Eh, it's campy and fun, but I think I want a more classic Orks Army, with something unique, but not too much a reference to something or too much a joke.

I was mostly thinking that I would try and create a Green Tide army, where the principle power is a large number of models per unit, and the main focus for other units is to have Auras or Psyker abilities like Warpath to boost each unit into a huge hordeforce, so the end result is having a bunch of Boyz use every +1 and Re-roll they're granted to curbstomp whatever I target them with.

With that idea you might want to go goffs or deathskulls. Those re-rolls can only be used one per unit though, so keep that in mind. Another good choice for footslogging and also using weirdboyz is Evil Suns. Evil Sunz are great on making charges after teleports and those extra movement benefits alongside assault weapons being usable is great.

How reliably do I get Da Jump without getting Perils of the Warp? I can see the math, but how does it work at the table in practice?

Pretty reliably, I used it all the time to get Nobz within krumpin range. Just keep the weirdboy alongside some boyz to get a bonus, but not too many boyz.

You sound like me, except my downfall was being stuck as attacker with my mostly gunline specked Iron Warriors. That and I went up against a guy who brought Marines and Knights against me, who's heaviest models are two Predators, a Maulerfiend, and a Las/Missile Helbrute. I guess it was just my luck, though trying to footslog my Marines up the field also wasnt a good idea. I've been collecting some Slaanesh daemons to act as vanguard, tying up the enemy while my CSM walk up the field. Though if that fails i'll probably have to invest in some Rhinos.

I've done it /tg/! I've defeated the pain glove sadists with my Chaos marines. Basically the same map as before but with more ruins instead of trees. I used the same units as before, but kept my cultists and maulerfiend off to the right behind the tall building. Maulerfiend took out 2 squads of 5 intercessors and a Primaris captain in gravis. Cultists got caught off guard by a Reiver squad jumping in behind them. Used Tide of Traitors and popped them in behind what was left of the enemy forces hiding in the ruins where the top left tree was. Thanks to Tide of Traitors the only model in my dead pile was a marine that got hit by a lucky shot.

I found out one thing I was doing wrong yesterday. I was only shooting one hades autocannon on my forgefiend. I feel retarded.

>Only shooting one.

Don't feel too bad. I kept ignoring twin lascannons have two shots for a good while now up until a couple weeks ago.

But yes, the author basically butchered what could've been a awesome story about massive titan warfare into shitskin womyn having a orgy with really huge, strategic-scale mechanical dildoes, huh?

She's actually a Porc-Orc abhuman, if she lifted her hair you'd see her pig ears, complete with a ear-tag. Of course, she has a specially designed armour to account for her giant belly, multiple breasts and a hole for her piggy-tail.

But man, I hope they have ten Sallet heads in the box now, beside those, only the two first ones and the gasmask version look decent.

This Screencap keeps getting thrown around, even though exactly nothing ever happened of it.

GW has never been able to sculpt female faces worth a damn anyway, so there's really no telling what the "intended" look was.

Good God the primaris look fucking weird now I've finally seen some on a table. Not only are they completely out of scale with their own faction but they're completely out of scale with everyone else's too, they look like they're from a completely different game, like cheap Chinese knockoff action figures that have been re-painted to use as expy's. What are they 33mm Realscale? I think I'm gonna stay in 40k, 41k is too weird for me. Bizarrely I feel sort of tempted to hop on to ebay and start up a nice small, maybe 500pt, 2nd edition era Oldhammer 40k army.

File: 7abaf49b5a9168d⋯.jpg (1.87 MB, 2480x4778, 1240:2389, ivfuxz27zxwz.jpg)

They are 28mm heroic, it's just that the size and proportions they chose for the fluff match 28mm realscale for conventional Astartes, escpecially in height comparison to the Guard.

Almost every opinion in the fiction, from codex compliant to mutant heretic, is similar to yours in disgust. It's like they were made to be a lightning rod of hatred.

I wonder if the Primaris are going to start another galactic civil war where they turn against the both the current Imperium and Chaos as well?

One of these days I'll have to stop giving a fuck and actually read up some summary of what's going on with all this stuff.

All I know is that

>cadia is kill

>there's some nu-marines and they're bigger, faster, and stron-ger too

Guilliman is making the imperium great again, the eldar are trying to stop being such pansies, chaos is pozzing half the galaxy (specially the tau) necrons and tyranids are taking a break, deldar are striking a deal with the imperium to fix the golden throne, and thats about it.

After Abaddon destroyed Cadia, something called the Cicatrix Maledictum appeared which is like a giant warp storm that separated the galaxy into 2, it also blocks the Astronomicon. Guilliman was healed of the wound that Fulgrim inflicted on him, by Eldar and Mechanicus guys.

In this case the Eldar responsible are also trying to create the god of death Ynnead which they hope will finally kill Slaanesh.

The Mechanicus guy is basically a Gary Stu who never previously appeared in the background called Belisarius Cawl. He had been tasked for 10k years by Guilliman himself to create the next generation of space marines, in short to improve upon the Emperor's work in creating the Astartes (which is complete and utter heresy and if this wasn't lore rape the Inquisition or the Mechanicus themselves would have immediately annihilated him).

These 2 combine eldar witch nonsense with a magic thing created by Cawl called the Armour of Fate which cured Guilliman of Fulgrim's poz.

Guilliman then undertook the Indomitus Crusade which was supplied by Cawl who just so happened to have tens of thousands of Primaris Numarines stowed away in his ship. They get lost in the warp, they get captured by chaos (the entire army gets captured but not killed or sacrificed), escape, go through the webway followed by Ahriman, end up on the Moon, then Guilliman goes to meet the Emperor offscreen.

After that, mostly what happens is that every Chapter now has access to the Numarines. The eldar and the mech guy fuck off back where they came from. Guilliman becomes de facto ruler of the Imperium.

+Harlequins are setting the stage for Slaanesh to have an 'oh SHIT' moment and start fighting for Aeldari survival.

+Eldar awoke god of death Ynnead, started calling themselves their old fashioned pre-fall 'Aeldari' name.

+Orks are showing signs of breaking through another tech level, starting to act like they did during the Great Crusade/War of the Beast. For comparison the warbosses of the WotB were bigger than dreadnoughts and beat Vulkan in hand to hand. One even spoke grammatically correct High Gothic.

+The planet broke before the guard did. Some takeaways:

Faith is definetely separate from sorcery/psychic powers, as anti psychic fields weren't completely effective against a living saint.

Trazyn tried to pull some strings to prevent chaos from winning. His consolation prize for his troubles was a slightly damaged Creed.

+Massive warp rift from Cadia to Damocles split the galaxy in twain. Cicatrix Maledictum, astronomicon now obscured for most of the galaxy, Old Night returned to everyone outside of Terra for a few hours to centuries. Time anomalies fucking EVERYWHERE, when the initial dread passed all astropaths on Earth died from the bulk of distress calls.

+Belisarius Cawl was inserted into lore and retroactively was tasked with some interesting stuff, like bringing back hover tanks, armour marks VIII-X, creating more loyal and stable successors to the standard astartes. Also made some armour to heal Guillaman from his neck wound. Would have failed if Ynnari eldar girl hadn't rezzed him.

+Guillaman hates everything and everyone and because of his bitch as snake brother cursing him he can never feel joy in victory ever again or he goes down Horus's path. He's been playing triage like a Syrian doctor and the only person he's shown any respect for is Dante, who's ass he saved from the Tyranids.

+Dante also wants to die but ghost Sanguinius told him not yet. Named Warden of Imperium Nihilus, i.e. everything beyond the emperor's light.

+Primaris reinforced every single chapter, revived lost/presumed lost ones. Cawl wanted missing/heretic gene stock included, Guillaman said fuck no, left inconclusive but holy shit Sons of the Pheonix is pretty on the nose for Emperor's Children.

+Deathwatch got its own bunch of Primaris

+Tau made one giant push for new sphere of expansion, new engines. Punch hole in warp, they saw god as far as the other races considered the greater good. The Tau hate god. Genocided surviving auxiliaries in their new colonies.

+Tyranids caught in disarray from psychic backlash, splinter fleets became greatly unique. Two unique ones include a daemon eating fleet and old-style models fleet.

+Necrons finally organizing under the Silent King.

+Custodes diversifying tactics and going abroad.

+Khaine's gate broke, but they walled it off.

+Old Arch bastard died, but then used a device to sacrifice anyone who was happy at his funeral to rez back to full.

+Squats reconfirmed for existing.

+Lionel is stirring

+Hints at other primarchs returning.

There's more. Lot happened.

He only had the armour on the ship, the numarines were stasis held on Mars.

They should make Khorne honorable gain, but they won't because they wouldn't want a chaos god to have positive attributes.

That's a flamer.

Nothing ever will, it's just some community manager throwing his weight around, but if he ever did anything like what he says, GW would smack his shit so fast his head would spin. As soon as profits start dropping, heads roll in Nottingham.

Mixed bag, some stuff is pretty cool other is pantsu on head retarded

Thank you for the summary. Are the Eldar and the Imperium sorta allies now? Did anything about the imperial guard change, in post cadia times? Any changes on the chaos side? Any more details about the squads? Anything new about the Grey knights, inquisition, SoBs or the imperial faith? Are there basically emporer based cleric spells now? 0

>Tau made one giant push for new sphere of expansion, new engines. Punch hole in warp, they saw god as far as the other races considered the greater good. The Tau hate god. Genocided surviving auxiliaries in their new colonies.

I kinda didn't really understand that part.

Only the Ynnari are allies with the Imperium. The rest of the Craftworlds are doing their own thing. I think the IG are more open to the whole "Chaos is a thing and it has been for some time. Don't fall to Chaos or you'll get *BLAMMED*" Nothing has changed on the Chaos side. Abbadon wants to hit Terra after Cadia, but eveyone else is just too fixated on fucking stuff up so he can't really continue the push. The Death Guard and the Ultramarines had their Plague War and the Thousand Sons continue to fuck with the Space Wolves. Meanwhile in Imperium Nilihus, Chaos runs rampant and shit happens every day. Lion El Johnson is actually alive/fully healed but still asleep. No changes to the Imperial faith so far. Probably going to see any changes in the next SoB codex

File: 33c9aaee391de1d⋯.jpg (403.02 KB, 1920x1080, 16:9, adepta sororita.jpg)

You forgot to mention that guilliman managed to not trigger the entire imperium by playing nice with the ecclesiarchy and is now having a crisis of faith after whitnessing the power of faith.

Punished Guilliman is best primarch. I wonder how other primarchs will react when they come back?

Bully him for his misguided codex and consorting with eldar.

>Lion, didn't like Girlyman

I wished they brought him back at the same time as Girlyman since he's the most opposed to Girlyman. Kinda like Morty and Magnus. Lion would see the whole codex thing and tell the Ultras to fuck off.

He'd be the only NOBLEBRIGHT in the GRIMDARK. Would always buddy up with Gorilaman.

Wouldn't give a fuck. Would always try to go solo and then get bailed out by the Smurfs.

Wouldn't give a fuck, in a radical way. He'd be okay with Eldar as allies as long as he got hot-xeno ass. He'd make DEldar look like pussies and out-ork orks.Eventually he'd be stuck on some world just racing Speed Freaks, DE and any Marine who thought they could be fast. Meanwhile the Nids would be trying to eat the place and it would just add another hitch to the whole thing.

Would laugh at Gorillaman. But he'd be too butthurt to do anything but fight the Thousand Sons. That's all he would do at this rate. Also the Inquisition would constantly berate him for being too "Khorne-like."

Would be 100% on board with the Codex and he'd probably spend most of his time fortifying the Imperium while Guile went to Nilihus and tried to fix shit there. Meaning Ol'Bobby wouldn't be doing his perfect job of being the Administration.

If Ferrus came back to life some how, he'd probably make friend with Cawl. Berrate Gilly, then go and try to play Hang-Man with Fulgrim.

Would make the IG more bold than ever. He'd probabbly get Fulgim out of his hole just to have a beauty contest. The Ecclesiarchy would have a collective orgasim and the BA would become 100% more badass.

Our best hope would be a half-dead/half-living Primarch so that they could rally the Legion of the Dammed( at will) so they could bully Chaos for eternity. Bonus point if the LotD actually gained members from fallen Astartes rather than just being the ~200 or so left space ghosts.

>Played a 1v1v1 three way 750-point game.

>Forgot fifty points in my list, but still managed to win.

>Even managed to win when they only attacked me and not each other.I kind of feel really bad since they are both pretty new at the game. I even did an all ork vehicle speed freek list with a morkanaut to not be really meta. The space wolves player did not take enough anti vehicle items to really put a dent in my morkanaut, while the Eldar player got his warwalker and two wraithlords taken out by my scrapjet and Defftrike.

I just feel kind of bad since it was one of the guys' birthdays and he wanted to try out some of his new stuff.

I hope they use the Sanguinor to reincarnate Sanguinius or something, he's my favourite Primarch.

Just stopped by to put this here.

Other than the Ultras themselves, the Imperial Fists are the most orthodox when it comes to the Codex, with their successor chapters running the gamut from highly unorthodox (Black Templars) to a near Ward level of devotion, going beyond even what the Ultramarines are comfortable with. Only Russ, Vulkan, and Dorn were against splitting the legions, Dorn fell in line after the Iron Cage,

A fine vintage.

My Emperor. Guide us through these dark times.

I'd assume it was done mainly by popularity; or most recent to oldest. Since AL got them I'd say popularity, but BA got them since the next book is their book, so you gotta have as much BA shit out there when it drops. They did the same with Inferno and released SW and TS stuff. But really, I'm actually shocked they picked NL to get new models, I thought they were one of, if not, the least popular legions both fluff-wise and number of armies out there. Well, second to the White Scars

So exactly what can hold objectives in 8th edition? Troops get objective secured, but can elite choices or heavy support choices hold objectives if they outnumber another non-troop unit?

i agree that 1/6 statues would have been way cooler.

I actually kind of like em, i might not buy one, but they're kinda cool.

>they're kinda cool

No. No they are not, not even remotely.

They are probably banking the white scars to go up in popularity once the new book is out.

When it was just AL TS and SW I thought it was just going to be for the newer legions. The choice of the NL is what convinced me all the legions will get a set.

Something that's been bothering me for a while. The names of all of the primarchs have some joke or reference in their name except

>I'm really glad to see what appears to be a trend of increasing representation for women in 40k. Age of Sigmar is in a decent spot, with generally mixed armies and now the Daughters of Khaine, but 40k though has been really limited. Sure there are fluff reasons strongly ingrained in Space Marines, so I don't see that changing, but it's great that women are appearing throughout many of the other factions!

>My girlfriend enjoys painting and asked me if there were any "girl armies" she could stat building, and I had to explain that her options were pretty much BDSM sex-demons and nuns with guns (also corsets). While those are both tongue-in-cheek options and I don't see them as a problem, it's still fantastic that we're starting to see mixed genders, with strong female characters being featured. This is one area that I feel Warmachine and Hordes have always had a leg up over 40k. Increased variety in choice and representation are more than welcome!

I want normies to die.

Also, sculpt is technically good but boring to look at it and pose is uninspired.

Are they just going to blatantly ignore the eldar sculpts, harlequins, and the dark eldar?

Does anyone have any sculpts or models that are their favorites? I have been working with a telemon and some old terminators, and I always liked how they look for some reason.

I'm relatively new to the hobby, but the models I fell in love with are the Gal Vorbak and possessed dreadnought.

>Are they just going to blatantly ignore the eldar sculpts, harlequins, and the dark eldar?

Of course they are, because said races show the worst aspects of these "people" in a negative light, and changing any of said races to suit them would enrage fans of the series. Like with anything, these pawns have to leech off and corrupt something good and successful not to feel included, but out of indoctrinated spite.

Those old 2nd/early-3rd Ed. Plastic CSM. Sure they were bland, practically mono-posed and had not alot of customization to them, but still.

I actually really like the squatting plastic space marines and strongly dislike the whole Primaris aesthetic.

It wouldn't be so bad except Magnus' model has too many monstrous features, and Guilliman has too much decoration on his armor, so converting either of those into another Primarch to run with my own custom Mehrines chapter seems like an absolute headache.

Wouldn't be a shock. Necromunda can't be used as a vessel to direct more sales directly into 40k, unlike, say, Kill Team, which is getting more shit soon.

Its funny that they could boost Necro sales by giving the gangs KT stats and stuff.

They really could at that, back in WD years ago way back when KT was first showing up they printed rules regarding basically mooks on patrol that would perfectly suits the gangers as opposed to say, a team of elite Space Marines.

>There is a chapter of blood-thirsty psychopaths who are on a galactic journey to eat Heretic Burgers. Not only do they seek the burgers, but they must bring enough to slate the hunger of their Primarch who probably hasn't eaten one in ten-thousand years.

>A Chapter of Blood Angles who ravage entire worlds in the name of the Emperor. Not only do they kill everything, they eat everything as well. Terrified witnesses are left in a state of catatonia (if they manage to not get eaten). Meanwhile in the minds of those Marines, its a hunt for the Heretic Burgers their gene-father has requested.

Did Shoggy say anything about AGP updating any time soon?

Pose looks unnatural, and what the fuck is his hair doing? Even if it would do that if he's plummeting down, why would they pick a diorama action for a tabletop figure.

It's just that, GW are making a diorama. Just like Russ vs. Magnus and Loken vs. Abaddon, mark my words, its gonna be Sanguinius vs. Ka'bandha

Princes of the rainstorm are going to be in book 8

Who even plays Heresy still?

No one that I know, I just want more demon sculpts.

Yea, boobs are a absolute necessity on female models, unless it's a japanese loli figure or something. At 28mm, if a model doesn't visibly have female proportions, it'll just look like some girly man. Take the bald girl with the chain-flamer in Black Fortress, no one knew that was supposed to be a female until the fluff book specified it. Some of the traitor guards there also have slightly thinner proportions than the others, but it's impossible to decide what they are, they could just be lanky guys.

If a humanoid miniature can't immediately make you understand what it is, there's a problem. And also, all NPC cucks needs to get their "representation" shoved down their ass and promptly thrown into the gas chamber. The ONLY valid reason to have a female warrior model is because you're a horny grognard that likes to look at painted plastic titties.

On the positive side, at least FW has shown they are REALLY willing to go to the extreme ends of representation and inclusion. Why, just look at this disabled genderfluid bodypositive transblob psyker, so brave and stunning!

My fucking god.

This is a literally faggot speaking. "Mixed genders" my fucking ass.

I'm tempted to buy one of these from a chinaman and convert it to have boobplate, high heels and a ponytail just to piss these faggots off.

In reality its okay. But they could've done a better job though? The pose is bearable although uninspiring. It is more dynamic than the typical Commissars. But they're not really supposed to be "Look at me! I'm the hero here!" kinda models. Inspiring, but not heroically inspiring. Now, we could have an argument over boob-plate and how realistically its not viable. but at the same time "she"'s flat as a board. Not even a slight tilt in the armor, nothing. Also, you'd think after thirty or so fucking years that GW would be better at sculpting female faces/heads.

And it seems Sangy did have a scenic base. Definitely looks better like that but I'm still not convinced. They should've posed him so it looks like he's trying to kick the daemon while thrusting the spear more directly towards his neck. Then just lower the daemon and the main base a little and pose it so the daemon is trying to catch the kick in his hand or something, and it should be pretty stable.

Yeah, a few writers always hint that there might be something in the more remote areas of ships. But they never go to find out or to even bother with it. Unlike space hulks which have to be explored and purged. It would be a pretty cool story for some IG or whatever to be on some ship and they have to go purify the whole thing.

It almost looks like he'll miss the daemon if he tries to stab it.

They released too much shit to post.

The crew might talk about spirits and their own folkloric monsters, which is of course brushed off by the higher ranks as superstition. But maybe that shipment of live snakes for pharmaceuticals that disappeared three thousand years ago got into the cracks and evolved into something different through all those years of exposure to the warp, cosmic energies and the ship reactors' radiation?

You know what would be cool? Some pseudo X-Files style system where you are one of the ship's higher ranking naval officers or something and have to investigate rumors about yet another bloodsucker creature that allegedly swims around in the septic tanks of deck VI.

All while keeping information about this confidential because it could lead to mass panics among workers responsible for several semi-critical elements of the ship. And then, halfway into the mission, the captain announces you're doing a warp jump.

>My hands are shakier than Michael J. Fox, I can barely paint a SM pauldron without accidentally blotting paint on other bits of the model.

Why was I cursed with this fate.

Also any tips on how I might be able to get a steadier painting hand would be appreciated.

I had the exact same problem when I started and I'm not exactly the greatest but you have to practice and just get comfortable working with a brush. Don't get to ambitious, start with with a base shade and highlight, you can always revisit the model but get comfortable doing that until you're prepared to add new steps.

Take it easy, don't hold yourself up to a too-high standard. Forget the small details, forget edge-highlights, just take your time and get confident with the basics first. Have a shot of whisky beforehand, put on some classical music, get yourself nice and comfy and work out any tension in your muscles.

Most of all, thin your paints.

File: afc8bf4784d9840⋯.png (2.18 MB, 1222x1129, 1222:1129, 1460050515653.png)

Is it just me, or is the new statline for the telemon kind of bad? The aquilon terminators also seem way too good, as the are a straight upgrade to allarus for the most part.

As an artfag, I find this hard to give advice for as I've always been drawing or painting since I was very young.

Practice. Don't try to paint a whole squad at once. Try 1 model and go for a simple paint scheme first. Master the basics, then go for more. Paint the base colour (of the power armour if it's a space marine) then use a wash to bring out the detail. A wash is a watered-down paint that collects in the recesses of the model. You can lay it on thick and not worry too much about splodges.

Your unsteady hand, if it isn't some kind of medical condition, should improve as you gain confidence.

Just keep practicing. Follow painting guides online if you want something more complicated.

Well, you could "cup" your hands together and rest your elbows on the table for support. I'd post the page on how-to. But Adobes being a piece of shit right now.

Where do they get their lash whips and bone swords from?

By the time these ugly fuckers start popping up, they probably have the respective spawning pools or whatnot needed to produce this kind of gear.

>Spawning pools

I just realized that Tyranids are pseudo-lizardmen of the 40k universe.

>Utilize big monsters like dinosaurs, elite warriors like saurus, and small numerous things like skinks

>Different colour variations based off spawns

The one on the top left even has Saurus-style plating on his head. How did I not notice this before?

>spawning pools

I guess that could make sense. The only thing I could figure was that the clan patriarch or magus had some trick to make infected women give birth to swords instead of hybrids.

Kind of goes back to the theory that Tyranids are some sort of weapon created by the Old Ones.

Possibly breaking off one of their horns and honing it into a blade.

Are genestealer infected marines possible? Surely space hulk raids don't all end with only either the chapter in question getting wiped or successfully conquering. What about a chapter having to replenish their numbers because of a disastrous loss and inadvertently taking aspirants from a tainted population?

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

Most Librarians can tell if an Aspirant is less than 100% pure, even then, when it comes time to implant the necessary organs, any Apothecary worth his salt would know somethings amiss.

Space Marines don't reproduce, anyway I'm not sure if they "can't", I've heard some people say that Space Marines are sterile, others say that they're just hypno-indoctrinated not to think about getting laid

Was reading the article on WaCo and was expecting Abbadon and got to the end video bretty disapointed and clicked thinking it was a Imperial Fist guy or some shit

But fuck no, our boy is back and all I need to ask is where is our boy Lion

Nah it doesn't work because Space Marines are impotent

The Genestealer Kiss is basically Zika but instead of having a baby with a big head he has 3 arms and is purple

they are getting a sigmar codex so yes

Keep in mind you don't need to run your primarch

There are viable chapters (or hell ones that are better) that aren't Ultramarines

Ultras even with bobby would get thrashed by a good SW list anyday

Kreig even though they're more WW1 Germans they still fit great as WW2 Wehrmacht

Also Black Templars have good aestetics in that regard

Just use them as something else

Bullgryns or Meganobs would work

Infected aspirants get weeded out quickly by the Apothecaries and probably trigger a purge, SMs proper actually have a immune system aggressive enough to fight off the Genestealers's Kiss IIRC.

Anyway, have this as my thanks.

It's not so much entire passages, just little bits of shit here and there. Plus, what he did with specific characters. Jessie Banda calls Meryn "Toxic" when he leaves her to die, and there are a significantly greater number of female guardsmen of various rank than in previous books. There's a female scion that does not act at all like an indoctrinated space commando, and more like a girl just out of high school. There's a stronk independent female general who's put in command of the palace when Von Voyitz goes to save Gaunt from a woe machine. There's some bitching about Verghast being Patriarchal and unaccepting of Merity for being a girl, even though that makes no fucking sense for the setting.

There's also shit he did with character arcs that have left me pissed off. Remember Dalin Criid? Guess what, he's a woe machine. All that character development, thrown out the window so that he can murder Gol Kolea and Gaunt can hack him to death with a sword. There could have been so much more done with that character, even if he was a woe machine, and Abnett just threw it all away over a continuity error.

The showdown with Sek wasn't good either. Instead of Sek showing up at the head of a vast warhost, or something thematic like that, Mkoll just sneaks aboard his private cruiser, makes him teleport away like a bitch, and jams a landmine down his throat to blow his head off. Anakwanar Sek, the badass right hand man of Guar that we've been building up since fucking Traitor General, and he just gets fucked blown up on a shitty little island somewhere.

There's also not anything I would really call a "grand battle". There's a lot of building clearing and firefights with insurgent cells, but nothing that I would consider a proper guard battle. The most tension I felt was when Yoncy turned into a woe machine and started killing the camp followers underneath the palace. That's probably the best part of the book, as there's a genuine sense of fear.

Hey, speaking of woe machines, How in the god damn fuck did Asphodel manage to sneak two of them into the Ghosts? When did he make the switch? Was it even him that did it? How did they know that the Ghosts would eventually wind of on Urdesh, near the saint? Why the fuck did the Saint not instantly known them for what they were, when she could sense Sek across the planet and was capable of calling to people across time and space? There's a passage that shows that symbols and icons of the Emperor could hurt the woe machines, even if it was more annoying that life threatening. Wouldn't this have come up way earlier? What the fuck was the point of having half an entire book focusing on Dalin if you were just going to throw him away in the worst manner possible? I feel like I should add that multiple characters and arcs connect to this character, and they're pretty much all pointless with the way Dalin died. If he had fought off the control of Sek, or even given his life killing Sek, that would have been a much better conclusion than what we got.

There's probably more shit to bitch about, I'm still digesting this book.

How's the balance? I get that there's tiers but the sample characters all seem to be at Dark Heresy level and then there's a marine mixed into them.

Sounds quite a bit worse than The Magos.

The biggest issue is that Tyranid biology tries to subvert it's hosts and subsume them under group telepathy/the hive mind.

Doesn't some of the newer fluff imply that the later generation hybrids have some degree of free will?

Imperial Fists? Mustard for power armour, ketchup for shoulder pad rim, soy sauce for recess shade.

All cults have degree of ree will because otherwise they cant operate. Hell, some "organisms" even have personality while in hivemind and they are recreated over and over again after absorption.

Contrary to popular belief hivemind has nothing against individuality because individuals cant betray it and all of them work for hivefleet prosperity. Hivemind is used because its most efficient way in most cases.

Well, considering there is fluff in which some Cults actually attempt to fight the Tyranids after the honeymoon period is over and they become the main course, I would say that they have some autonomy from the Hive Mind

New ShadowSpear trailer have shown this. Maybe a new Primaris unit? It doesnt looks precisely bad, but for being a heavy weapons astarte, sure it have a tiny propulsor, that looks less than an imperial one, and more like a anime one. Also, the concept is solid, but why bother to put it to a devastator that should be deployed from a Drop pod, or a Thunderhawk already, so no need to give him agility? Propulsors work well on Assault & Inceptors suqads because they are melee squads in the first place, and fast skirmishers in the later. But to give it to a Big Devastator is not tha good, in my opinion, and breaks the Imperial Astartes doctrine.

>Fast Devastators

Like every single Primaris unit, they will be over-specialized to the point that they're only viable in certain situations. While regular marines will be more flexable but not a master of anything.

They've also decided to re-release create a new game with some more random characters.

I did some playtesting with the new custodes rules for some of the forgeworld models, and it seems all over the place. The telemon and galatus are pretty average now, and the telemon was hit pretty hard. The Aquillon terminators seem very good for what their point cost is, but the jump pack custodes seem pretty bad for their point cost. The jetbikes seem like a decent side grade to the regular bikes if you want more of a jack of all trades.

The crusader actually doesn't look too bad, everything else is either meh or "why?"

Dude, the entire space marine and imperial fluff was broken the moment these guys showed up. All of 41k is like a cheap fanfic with knockoff designs.

The guns and the loader skull look cool. I doubt I could come up with anything worthwhile for the rest though.

>so I can just use my Gundam kits

Just say they're Chaos primaris.

They're about the size of a Knight Titan, right? Throw in some more and you got yourself a Knight Household. Probably 2000+ points right off the bat.

Rumor has it we're getting Index Assassins in March.

I just saw that the last Gaunt's Ghost audiobook has been released. I feel kind of apprehensive about this because Abnett has become increasingly pozzed and I fear the conclusion will be shit.

Haha who am I kidding. Emperor have mercy.

I don't know why this is happening right now but after not giving a shit about 40k for almost two years I'm back in.

Anyone still play the 40k rpgs?

I listened a while. First chapter starts of strong with a STRONK OLIVE SKINNED WOMYN as the princeps because of course.

If she doesn't have an Italian name it's garbage

Isn't she also a strong womyn who beat up or one-upped sexist men on her planet?

She won her position by fucking up a tournament between knights... while riding a horse.

>Book starts off with a flashback to the Legio Solaria's founder Mohana Mankata VI. She's a female of a Knight House on the planet Procon. Because she's a woman she can't became a Knight. When the Great Crusade arrives Procon immediately joins the Imperium and holds a festival for the visiting delegation. Despite being banned from taking part in a horseback riding contest, she does anyway and wins.

Does this sound Italian.

(Also Italians not white etc :^)

You know, you could easily spin that around.

All the men are in the tech support, maintenance, repair, and manufacturing positions - without which the titans themselves simply wouldn't function.

I don't need to tell you guys this but it's very likely that we'll live to see female primarchs and marines being canon, because GeeDubs gonna Gee-Dub.

The book and the overall lore makes it rather clear that serving as pit crew for a titan maniple is much much less desirable than being a pilot. As far as I am aware of AdMech lore, almost everyone is considered expendable labor except the top 1% of priests, so we can assume that being a titan repairman isn't considered very glorious.

I have never played the game. However, it has a lot of bullshit. First off, its only for phones and Win10. There are ads in the game and you have to watch shit between playing. Loot crates are in it as well. Despite this, somehow, it still remains a decent game. You can even customize your knight. But you ==have== to look past the pay2win shit and ads and all the other fucking crap they shoved into it. If you have Facebook, there is something called "gameroom" or whatever the fuck that you can use to avoid the ads. Also, melta+gattling cannon = auto win for multiplayer. Use that to grind up for what I assume is better gear.

If you mean; "Screeching stronk wymin running around telling Space Marines to let gurls into their sexist club, while bench-pressing Primarii in order to earn more corn-rows while they denounce the Emperor in order to create a truly GENDER EQUAL society" then no.

So i'm playing some of the 40K RPG stuff and my character has fairly low int, but i've been trying to develop rhyming slang that fits into 40k for a while to make my charachter essentially just space chav that people can barely comprehend, here's a sample of some of the stuff i've got so far and some reasoning

Tau = Beef, (Beef Cow, omit cow)

Orks = Wine, (Wine cork)

Eldar = Freight, (Freight car)

Necrons = Knock(s), (Knock on [wood, i know this one is bad rhyming some of this shit is fucking hard])

I have some stuff for the chaos gods but i honestly forgot how i got to the conclusions, I think i wound up rhyming multiple languages at one point to get to a decent word, and now Bamboo means Khorne

The best one by far is Short for the mechanicus, because i rhymed that with "Short Bus"

Anyone got any good ideas on how to develop this further?

I think you're thinking too hard to be retarded.

Mate, I doubt real cockney had this much thought put into it.

No, but I want you to post everything you've come up with, because it sounds fascinating

Well, my character is from a feudal world so i'm having him use more fantasy esque words, so Cliff = Psyker because Cliffs Edge = Hedge (wizard), Heretic = salt through Salt Lick, and mutant is Rubber, because of Rubber plant, the warp is steel, more through the word immaterium= Steel Drum. some more mundane stuff is spine=sword through spinal cord, rat=mace, through rat race.

>Thinking too hard to be retarded

Maybe your right, I need more brain damage

Probably not, but I want to be incomprehensible to part of the other players and just have them guess what the fuck i'm even saying

What >>410947 said, but also, you're falling prey to world blindness; the 40k universe doesn't have "cows" it has grox or ambulls. It doesn't have "wine" it has amasec. Obviously, you and your group may not be as autistic about lore-correctness as I am, but it's worth thinking about what objects populated your character's environment rather than directly translating from your own experiences. Try coming up with some sayings that your character may have been familiar with, or his own class may have bastardized from the aristos and made their own, the way slang normally evolves.

This does make things easier, if you think about it. You don't have to try to fit existing sayings and phrases to 40k stuff; you have free reign to create your own and make things even more incomprehensible, because you'd be adapting completely new phrases into cryptic forms. But (and this is just my opinion) try to keep some connection between the slang and thing it refers to; the best rhyming slang hints at the source that originally spawned it. For example, "Bread and honey" for money, or "trouble and strife" for wife.

For some more possible slang;

prance => prance and preen => Space Marine

load => load the torp => Warp ("y'know? 'Load the torp!' Ol' Addy Heinsrich wagged it e'r Emperor's Day on the vizi; used'ta watch'm wiv me mate Bloody whens we was skippin' on the schola on wunnovem biggo vizicasts up on Maggie's Square, roight?")

blaze => blazing row => Tau ("You mean blues?" "Naw, love, I's wagged blaze. 'e's a right pricky one too, I's can tell. Best watch yersel' - he mightta sabbed some grabs along wiv 'im, roight?")

(grab => grab the loot => kroot)

Unrelated to that, is anyone planning to read that Honourbound novel coming out tomorrow? I haven't actually kept up with any Black Library releases since the end of the Ciaphas Cain novels, so I don't know if this Rachel person is any good. Is there anywhere to read the previous short stories in that character's arc?

I still don't understand how anybody thought this was a good idea. It's like sombody stole the formula from the DnD or Conan the Adventurer cartoons from the 80s and applied to a source material where it makes even less sense.

Everyone shittalks FW, but I enjoyed it a lot back in it's time.

>tfw the first proper final boss is a lone space marine

>tfw the final mission is an asssult at traitor astartes-held trenches

>tfw using a currupted bolter

>tfw using meltaguns and plasma rifles

Fire Warrior is cozy as all fuck.

Children are the main target group for warhammer, and childrens tastes have changed according to the jews since the 80s and 90s.

>the jew

I just don't know. Don't they usually know how to make money? It just seem like it wouldn't really sell to anybody.

This isn't being marketed at children. It's being marketed at parents who are way too into 40k and trying to introduce their kids to their hobbies, for some stupid reason.

But any nerd dad who is into WH would recognize these as complete and utter shit.

I dunno, they look at least funny-bad, not soul-crushing-bad. I can't be the only one who thinks the Adventures of the BK Kids Club in 40k would be amusing. Has anyone dumped them for mockery?

>funny bad

That might be the reason they're selling. I don't think anyone who plays or is even interested in 40k or Warhammer in general should buy these books. If they sell well, then they might make more. The only good that has come from them is the mockery of them and the fan art regarding the characters. Also, I don't think anyone has uploaded them. Or at least in the place I checked.

I still think they are complete, soulless shit. These shorts that look like they are from some early 00s educational video game are enough to convince me of that.

I think nobody should buy them, not even ironically.

it's more about subverting the setting i'd say. slaanesh being all about degeneracy but portrayed as a negative, the Imperium being a xenophopic religious totalitarian government, human supremacist ideology, all the aliens being portrayed as just enemies or at best temporary allies of convenience.... all this deeply conflicts with mainstream centre-left ideology. but the way it works is they won't just leave it alone, they have to poz it. anything that isn't them has to be targeted.

the rot hasn't extended far into 40k yet but it's definitely there and it's only a matter of time til you get female or tranny or gay space marines allying with orks or tau or space tomb kings to fight the evil white cis male fascists who want to perpetuate the nazi grimdark conflict of the fascist Emperor who was actually the villain all along - TWEEEEST, etc etc. I'm being hyperbolic, but worse has been done to other canons.

>the rot hasn't extended far into 40k yet

Those HH novels say otherwise.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, this is GW marketing to kids. Every fucking brat that wanders into a GW store gets handed a preview copy of this dreck Along with the complimentary "First taste is free" Space Marine/Stormcast

Oh, I disagree, this is fucking gold. I love soulless corporate bullshit; it's the greatest thing in the world to mock. At no point is the internet brighter than when it illuminates the misaimed, painfully idiotic, and poorly planned blunders of out-of-touch corporations.

In fact, I just visited the website and it's great. They can't say shit about the universe; it's like watching a lad around his mother.

>"Life in the 41st Millennium is hard."

>They can't use Chaos or xenos, so everyone is fighting for Order or protecting the Imperium against Evil.

>"Thirteen-year-old Talen ran away from home to avoid being enlisted in the military"

Talen is a traitorous cur and any loyal citizen of the Imperium would report him for reeducation.

>"Sharing her mum's hatred of weaponry, Zelia believes that the best way to overcome fear is to learn about the universe."

Can't wait till she learns about the Tyranids. Or the Orks. Or, well, basically anyone.

>"A talented inventor, eleven-year-old Mekki created the special robotic frame that supports his paralysed arm."

Eleven-year-old Mekki is a MUTANT and a HERETEK that will lead us down the PATH OF DAMNATION!

Reading the free extract of the zeroth book in the series now, but this is great so far.

Here's a question I never really found an answer to.

I know that warp travel time is unpredictable and that it takes a long time but does the time go by faster for the ones on the ship?

I'm currently reading a novel that mentions a six year travel time. Does it mean the characters actually had to spend six years of their life on the ship or does it go by faster for them?

Time proceeds as normal inside the ship, what changes is time in real space.

For you, as a crewman, you spent 2 years in the warp, but 20 years may have passed.

It can varry by author. I've read books where they practically zip across the galaxy within a few weeks or months at most (ship time, not real-space time). Six years sounds rather slow and yeah we'd assume it was six years for the crew and X for real space.

I guess wording it like that makes much more sense but yeah that's pretty much what I meant.

>Six years sounds rather slow and yeah we'd assume it was six years for the crew and X for real space.

If time passes differently inside and outside of the warp then I think it was six years in real time but shorter for the crew, here's how it was worded:

>"Even with good warp currents, six more years of Terran standard time had elapsed as the ship Tybalt first travelled to Paramar to equip and then on to the distant Kavir system."

To be fair, it wasn't six years of pure travel in either case but I doubt that stop took longer than a year.

Ok, that makes more sense.

now the last one I can't quite get behind the heretek line of thought. That stuff isn't beyond the technological level of the imperium. That's like standard servitor stuff.

What to do if ork player is fucking colorblind

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

Usually less time goes on the ship because its much more fucking convinient than to have characters spends 90% of adventure doing fucking nothing.

And it works the same way in real universe. The faster you go the slower time goes for you.

On related note everyone in galaxy uses his own clock now so its not that relevant now. Which is funny because its again closer to real world in terms that Imperium would not be able to synchronize clocks in a galaxy using its current technology and administration..

Random assholes are not allowed to to that shit. And where the fuck he get the parts?

Perception of time. There is not such thing as normal speed of time. Unless phenomena occurs and they experience speedup or slowdown because of warp fuckery. Minutes feel like days, days feel like minutes.

Basically wapr travel is "whatever convenient to the author".

Right, time in the warp is a plot device. Look at Admiral Spire coming out right at end of the last Black Crusade and just taking it in stride like a boss.

It's fairly canon that augmetics especially bionics are always administrated by techpriests simply because they consider proof of their creed (flesh is weak) and therefore replacing faulty fleshy parts with metal ones is a solemn act of devotion to the Omnissiah.

Having one that wasn't made, blessed and installed by a tech priest is definitely tech heresy and one to hide his own mutation is normal heresy...

That's not all that's in his bio, just the short. He's an "inventor" that's "happiest when tinkering with technology" and who has created "servo sprites, a swarm of tiny robot helpers" which sound damn close to Abominable Intelligences.

IIRC he's the child of techpriests, so it'd make sense that he'd have access to parts.

Esha's changing body shape made her uncomfortable. The straps had to be adapted to fit around her swelling belly. The worst of it was the pressure around her lower abdomen, most of it which seemed to press into her bladder. Esha had never used the ablution pads built into her combat suit. She preferred to wait rather than soak herself in her own piss, but if this kept up she was going to have to use it. Almost as bad as the need to pee was the dull ache around her coccyx. No matter how she sat, it twinged. No position was comfortable for longer than ten minutes. Only another twelve weeks, she thought. Then it'll be done. Leaning forwards in her command harness took some of the pressure off her back, but it put her at a strange angle that would have her legs cramping soon, and the restraint straps cut into her shoulders. She ignored it, trying to achieve a deeper bond with her Titan so she could block out the discomfort completely.

Page 190

For five minutes, they continued their slow methodical path of destruction. A collective scream rose from Biphex, loud enough for Esha to hear through the Warhound's hull. Shortly after that, Legio Vulpa began to shoot. Esha rested her hand protectively on her belly. The child within turned over, pushing against her palm.

How about neither, you crypto-furry.

>You can't just invent shit in 40k

That is popular misconception. You can but it takes fucking forever to approve. And in most cases new uses of old technology is perfectly fine. See these lasgans and ducktape? Now I invented myself twin-linked lasgan. Hovever thare are plenty of taboo subjects and abominable Intelligence is a fucking big one. You will never be able to get out of this one, after this your forge world may expect a fucking inquisition inspection from top to bottom.

Another example of taboo would be a centralized Hive weapon control system which allows Hive to use all defences controlled from a single room. Doing something like this is just inviting destruction of a Hive. Making something like this will reward you with public execution, when shit hits the fan.

Or inventing new power source for lasgans. Because old powersource is fucking reliable as fuck and new one will need testing for more than a thousand years so implementing it would be nigh impossible, even if there is nothing wrong with it. And in most cases old tech is top of the line anyway. Doing something like this may reward you a promotion if you are extremely lucky, or most likely you can sell improved powerpacks to guards for some rare parts. Unless it explodes and in that case you just need to pretend that you have nothing to do with it

This. It all depends of the Mechanicus. Hell, if some Magos higher up likes your idea, there's a chance he could pass off your invention as his own to get the fame.

But yeah, you're rifht about the new uses of old tech bit. Otherwise we wouldn't get fun wartime modifications like the Siegfried.

Apparently in the Grim Darkness of the far future we have evolved beyond stress and trauma induced miscarriages.

Actually in grim darkness of far future medicine is fucking amazing.

I don't think it'd be so amazing as to override the basic hormonal functions of a pregnant woman, and on top of that, wrangling a Titan at the same time as being pregnant would be a horribly shit idea, since the machine spirit would probably be very upset that its master was so distracted and seemingly disoriented by the babby

Specificity and detail are the calling card of the fetishist, and this shit definitely reads like the wank material of a disgusting sack of shit whose mind is painfully hyperfocused on the idea of pregnant women soiling themselves.

To be fair while it sounds retarded, Titans are amazing constructs with very advanced systems and intellegence, they just might work as life support system for princepts.

>their master

Its not really master-servant, its warmaching-man who points it into right direction.

Except Titans are warmachines, their intellegence is made to destroy, they would just abort the baby because it causes too many problems with piloting the thing and warmachine intellegence of titan directly influences princepts, so she would gladly abort the baby in the middle of the battle. Unless she is just a decoy and real princepts is hiding somewhere. And while it work like life support, it might also drain princepts Lawnmower Man style. So there are not a single goddamn reason to have pregnant female princepts, no matter how good she is at horse riding.

And why the fuck this absurd even exist. I mean, in wh40k universe woman can be anything except space marine and high lord of terra(because these fucks are going to outlive everyone). That is fucking it, everything else is fair game for a woman. But no, we gotta have a fucking pregnant woman piloting a titan, because slaneesh is not degenerate enough for us.

They have few faction of pure degeneracy! Why the fuck they try to push it elsewhere!

>They have few faction of pure degeneracy! Why the fuck they try to push it elsewhere!

because everything that is not like them explicitly must be gradually slid into satisfying all their demands. And they will never be satisfied.

Which is why you need zero tolerance from the start because it will never end.

I tried reading some Elminster novels recently and what you say is absolutely correct.

>rules for mecha in OW

There have been a few major Knight Titan homebrews by other people, but I don't know much about them in any particular detail, and I feel like a homebrew expansion of a homebrew expansion is getting a bit too niche.

Alright. Finally got a chance to play it and I've enjoyed it a lot. It plays pretty much like a trimmed down Shadowrun with bits of Savage Worlds and the previous 40k games added in.

To each their own and all that but I think the system works much better than tha percentile system.

Pardon my newfaggotry but in the original game and in fluff are Sororitas' units stronger than the average Astartes' equivalent?

File: d70574ca909c67e⋯.jpg (46.82 KB, 640x640, 1:1, 848586113628326_1832512886….jpg)

On the subject. How much laxity there's on using 2nd millennium tech and slightly upgrading it towards 41st mil standards? Orks have what's a essentially a MiG-15 and IMO, an A-10 would fit the setting perfectly. Is it fluff-respecting to make the Mechanicus produce them with contemporary modifications?

File: a5b906f3f621dac⋯.jpg (141.22 KB, 960x960, 1:1, Mystery-sicaran.jpg)

The Imperium doesn't really know what "2nd Millennium" means. A lot of tech boils down to what was crapped out of an STC. And if you make one, you're either a heretic or the next Fabricator General of Mars. But, at the same time, there are examples of old, old shit being "revamped" and brought out. Like the shitty WW2 era tanks that the Blood Pact used. There are also the few Baneblade/Leman Russ variants that went from; "Hey, you can't do that! Tech Heresy! Tech Heresy!" to; "Oh, you want that type? Alright." Just because the fluff doesn't specifically call the Avenger Strike Fighter a remake of the A-10 Warthog, doesn't mean that its the same thing. Except switch out the GAU-8 for a Avenger Bolt Cannon.

>Except switch out the GAU-8 for a Avenger Bolt Cannon.

The GAU-8 is called "Avenger" IRL.

most of the solid ballistic weapons that aren't bolters (Autoguns, etc) are basically just 21st century tech that's been around, a heavy autocannon is essentially just an M2 machine gun, Autoguns can range from XM rifles and prototype fish guns to an AK-47s and M16s, regular ass pistols are any variety of fucking anything, etc.

File: 5b27523392b1637⋯.jpg (316.52 KB, 570x617, 570:617, 1426984482831-2.jpg)

Sisters as far as I can remember have lower strength and toughness than marines (regular, not primaris). They also lack the And They Shall Know No Fear rule. I'm not sure whether their WS/BS was lower.

In the fluff, Sisters totally lack all the special organs and implants that make Astartes superhuman, because they don't work on women. A Sister is just an ordinary human woman in power armour with a bolter, who has the special Imperium magic called Faith which allows them to do wacky stuff which is clearly not chaotic in any way.

The origin of Sisters is that the Imperium's church, the Ecclesiarchy, is forbidden from having "men under arms", so instead they have women.

Why is everything so quiet on the 40k front now?

No new lore. No storyline advancement. No new Primarchs coming back.

In many cases its not 21st tech, it just looks like it. Imagine if you have to design a land transport. You will come up with wheels and usual truck design sooner or later. Imagine applying that to a plane, they dont look like this at random, they look like this because its most efficient forms.

People just playing that shit. Narrative champaigns and all that. They released a lot of games.

>ordinary human woman

As in they don't have space marine enhancements. They are still all elite soldiers, chosen from a schola progenia. The same place that also raises future commissars, storm troopers and assassins.

New Abaddon model, comes with three different heads and an optional cape. Not sure how I feel about him, like the options for different heads, though. There's also this new CSM with a gatling weapon of some sort, not sure what it's supposed to be, but I like it. Reposted with the actual gatling guy.

Watch it be a Rotator Cannon. It'll also be better than the HH version too.

The cape seems too generous. Also he's now big for some reason?? How long until someone puts the masked version on and then asks "why does he wear the mask?"

It's satisfactory.

I don't like how they changed his trophy rack from 2 rows on each shoulder to 1 row across his back.

They also changed the arrangement of the ammo feed on the Talon - does he have to fire it upside down now? Otherwise the ammo would block the ejector. Original had the positions of ammo feed and ejector reversed.

It's a pretty faithful update otherwise.

Damn I missed that. New topknot a shit.

What was the explanation for it anyway? Is that supposed to be his actual hair? Or is it something like the orks, where it's just a decorative bit?

Not sure really, it seems to have been a part of the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus uniform, maybe something dating back to Cthonia.

Though the Abaddon model predates most of that. There wasn't much solid Black Legion fluff back then.

I doubt they're resizing everything. Unless they are, then they better explain why/how. Plus the next boxed set is going to have a microdex, so we get to see how restrictive these csm will be. Its called "Daemonkin," yet there are only two possesed marines and one daemon engine. You'd think Daemonkin would mean lots of possesed marines and other half-demon entities but I guess not?

There's also the two oblits in the back, but I see your point. With a name like "Daemonkin" I would've expected some actual daemons, too. Isn't that the whole point of that spider-mech?

He's damn near Primarch size.

I'm currently getting into 40k

what's the most different looking adeptus astartes?

like design wise they differ more than just a color scheme change.

should've mentioned that I already love the adeptus mechanicus

>Unique looking Adeptus Astartes

You mean the most unique looking Space Marines?

Grey Knights is what you want, Thousand Sons if you don't mind playing Chaos.

Well, theres the Primaris Marines, they're bigger than regular Marines. There's the Grey Knights, and 1k Sons like >>412534 said. Don't forget the Death Guard either. SM mainly boils down to color and accessories you put on them. Space Wolves stand out because of all the viking and wolf stuff you can give them. Next up would be Dark angles, lots of robes and hoods etc. Those are the only two chapters that stand out them most. Blood Angles stand out, a little bit, but only if your models are all wearing the muscle armor. Not to mention the fact that if your playing a SM chapter that has its own codex, then you get to field different units than other SM chapters. If you could manage to make your entire army look like the Legion of the Damned, you'd get a lot of respect. But thats more of a super natural looking army. If you like the mechanicus, and you really wants to play SM, then find or make as much Iron Hands stuff as you can. Bionics, exposed machinery, etc. are their calling card.

after looking around the custodes look nifty and they appear to be really good, their lore is kinda odd though

whats this stuff about orks being shit because they dont have a codex? are you not allowed to play them? aren't they one of the oldest factions?

Adeptus Custodes are probably the most distinct looking MEQ. You won't have to buy that many models either.

Presumably they don't have a codex yet because the game switched to a newer edition last year and they haven't gotten around to it? GW does that every so often to keep the money flowing in (and make balance changes I suppose). I think the main rulebook has some basic rules for them? Or they're amalgamated into a big "Aliens" rulebook or something. It's been a while since I played, so I don't know how they organize things any more.

Related, is there any reliable info on when the new plastic sisters and dex are going to drop? I was thinking of getting back in with the Sororitas, assuming they weren't flaming hot garbage.

Orks have a codex, it's okay. You can definitely do some fun things with it though, like a warboss that can get attacks that do 4 wounds every turn.

They just released a beta codex a couple of months ago, current timeline suggests later this year, presumably sometime before fall.

File: 490412f7de2ea70⋯.jpg (103.45 KB, 1000x602, 500:301, Vanguard_Infiltrators.jpg)

>This odd-looking modern aesthetic

>The excess of weaponry they wear. I dont remember previous Space Marines (even scouts & infiltrators) wearing that much weaponry

>1d4chan retards saying is cool that this now looks & works like modern USA soldiers instead of the Knight/Warrior looks of before, even tough Astartes ARE Knights in SPEESSS, and most of the astartes arent Space Wolves or World Eaters that just charge dumbly into battle, or have to be melee centric.

>Also, did GW & the people forget about the Militarum Tempestus?

Miniatures arent precisely ugly or even bad, but as many Primaris stuff, it feels odd & over designed. At least infiltrators are cool and a good addition.

>I dont remember previous Space Marines (even scouts & SUPPRESSORS)...

Excuse me for this mistake.

Much obliged. Taking a look at the changes now. Nice that they realized how absurd the old Faith point rules were and updated them accordingly.

GW stuff was always edging towards being overdesigned, but previously it mostly kept to the more special models - named characters and pewter. I guess they're having a devil of a time keeping ahead of the Chinese bootleggers, so they have to keep making the models more and more complex. This is just unfortunate, though; I can't imagine someone new to the hobby not being intimidated when asked to paint something like that.

I had a quick question about the authority of each of the primary factions of inquisitors. A lot of them feel like they have conflicting jurisdiction, and I am assuming this is the point. Is this correct?

Hereticus oversees witches, psykers, chaos cults, cults worshipping things other than the emperor or heretical imperial cults, and also serious criminals/traders who are impeding the imperium in some great way. Genestealer cults would then be in their jurisdiction, but xenos inquisitors would also have a great reason to pursue these cults too, right? Ordo Malleus inquisitors would also see benefit for going after rogue psykers and cults before they could summon a demon too for obvious reasons, so they sometimes would step into some ordo hereticus activities.

With xenos inqusitors, they would have to deal with alien technology that uses the warp and ancient psychic artifacts. Then there are cults who worship aliens and their technology.

What's up with those puny boots?

Total noob question. Planning to get myself into some Bad Moon orks, and Im looking at the Gunwagon. Can I take off the 'ard case that comes standard with it?

If not I might just go with the normal Battlewagon to get the open top so my flash gitz can shoot out of it. Or is that not how that works?

No. The ard case upgrade can't come offthe gunwagon or the rollawagon. Gunwagons are also pretty bad choices for their point cost. Use a normal battlewagon with a deffrolla and maybe 4 big shootas. Battlewagons are not good at shooting themselves, so rely on what is inside and treat it as a carriage.

The melee rollawagon is another option for units that do not need to shoot much. The main examples being nobz and meganobz with killsaws.

Okay thanks. Yeah Ill go for the normal battlewagon then. I was gonna stick Flash Gitz in them, and the Warboss. That's 20 points saved

If you got meganobz or nobz, I would reccomend putting your warboss with them to benefit from that waaagh abilty.

I do have the starter kit which included nobz. Also seems like a smart idea. I can fit them all into the Battlewagon. The boyz will just have to leg it.

Thanks mate.

If you got enough, another wagon would help them more. Nobz/meganobz in a bonebreaka work out pretty well.

It probably would, but I'm going to err on the cheap side for the first few months. But it's an upgrade that I will definitely keep in mind

I was thinking of getting a maw krusha, adding a cannon to it, and then using it as a snakebite/deathskullz meka dread. Does this sound like a decent idea to anybody?

Its an Ogryn and a Traitor "Commissar." for blackstone fortress. Remember; the traitor guard for the base game are practically carbon-copies of Cultists and you can only have 14 in a 40k game. Not 14 squads, 14 models with no customization and very, very little synergy with other chaos forces. This guy, and no doubt his body guard, will be just as restricted as the other blackstone fortress guardsmen. I'm sorry, but its probably not going to be enough for R&H.

Its kinda cool. I wish if they went the whole "demon-engine as a mount" thing, they'd do a flavor for each god then maybe an extra on top of it all? It'd be cool if the Dark mech robe he has on is a nod to possible future dark mech. forces.

Trisdekanon here, back again with an update to my nuclear warfare book, Imperial Atomica. As always, this is a system-agnostic sourcebook for running nuclear combat and postnuclear survival.

Version 1.1 is mostly quality-of-life fixes, aiming to polish and rebalance some of the stuff I missed in version 1.1. It also includes a bunch of new gear, several new vehicles, a ton more art, and many other things besides.
