I kind of regret taking a break from ToL1 to test the second game out, it's going to be hell going back. Just got my first subclass stone and I have no idea who should get first dibs.

You reminded me that I need to finish The Genius of Sappheiros. I ended up playing it on the harder difficulty and insisted on playing in Japanese to study. That made it take forever and I didn't get far with the game.

They're both very good dungeon crawlers actually, the second one especially even though there are some bugs here or there. ToL2 is also way prettier than the first one and might slow down a bit on toasters, like the second dungeon biome or strata or whatever you call it.

I always hear about Sappheiros but I never got around to downloading it, but I guess since I'm on a 2hu high right now I'll do that tomorrow.

I wish Moriya Shrine didn't rely on the most annoying file sharing sites. It's tiring to have to deal with captchas, countdown timers, and dead links. What ever happened to just clicking on a link and downloading the file?

I've just met Mokou, and at the recommended level, she's too much for me to handle.

Is there a certain setup required? I'm already switching my damage dealers out to soak up her debuffs, but they usually run out of MP shortly before her hitting zero HP for the first time; that is, if she doesn't decide to one-shot one of them randomly anyway.

The fight was actually a really neat way to see if the player understands the game's flow.

Being used to fixed party sizes, the kind of dynamic you have to apply in this game is really exciting.

Also, Sanae looks way older than I remember.

I guess I'm just used to playing one of the main games all the time. I've never been big on fangames and I'm not used to this game's genre. I don't really know how it works or what the appeal is. It's instinctive for me to always play a shmup so I rarely play anything else. Maybe I'm just not in the mood to try new things.

It's easy to learn, but somewhat hard to master. The game itself is being really verbose on things, so even if you're not familiar with the genre, the information provided to you should be enough to learn the ropes. As far as fangames go, this one is really great. And if you have questions, you could just ask them here, after all!

I stumbled upon the second one while mass-downloading fangames from Moriya and was seriously impressed by the appeal it had, since I usually can't stand dungeon crawler games for very long. I think the characters help ease me in, as opposed to something like Final Fantasy where I'm not as invested in the world and characters during the more boring start of the game.
