All you'd have to do is create a populist movement. Trump is doing a pretty good job of doing that and so is Sanders but for different reasons. If you could create a movement that combines the best of both of their positions you'd be unstoppable.
You'd just need to advocate the following positions.
1. Tariffs on foreign goods.
2. Closed borders.
3. Progressive tax code.
4. Overturning the TPP.
5. Overturning citizens united.
6. Extensive protection of civil liberties.
7. Non-Interventionist foreign policy
8. Medicare for all.
9. Free college for all.
Those are the sorts of policies that would get most people on board.
You could also throw in economic policies advocating the abolition of private business to be replaced with cooperatives, although I'm not sure if that would get many people on board. Although you could always take steps to institute those policies once your party came into power.
I'd also throw direct democracy in there as well. I know most people here don't like democracy but as far as I'm concerned the state should be comprised of the people. It shouldn't be separated from the people and the way I see it, that's what true nationalism/populism is.
