That's a good point. With that said, I've always thought the idea is interesting because it's not uncommon to see Nazis go full commie and vice versa. Maybe it's a psychological thing. People with more political passion tend to get into "extreme" political ideologies.

Horseshoe theory ignores third position entirely. I think the spectrum should resemble a sine wave rather than a horseshoe.

Thing with horseshoe theory is, you could probably create multiple ones that don't reflect the libertarian/ancap bias and which work just as well. Meaning that negative law theory and opposition to it are not the end all be all.

For example, I could probably take the time to make a natsoc-oriented one, seeing as how vigorously it opposes both Lockean and Marxist thinking.
