8chan has been getting spammed with illegal links for a while, even before /tk/ was created. I'm the only one with mod privileges, so I've been manually deleting and perma-banning the poster every time it happens.

It used to happen once a month. Now it's almost three times a week. I don't think this board is being specifically targeted. It seems like a spam bot posting on boards with activity. Because of how serious it's been getting, I started doing an IP range ban. Only problem is doing that also bans a lot of addresses that aren't spamming illegal content. We'll see how much it does to keep this bullshit at bay.

If you've been banned without knowing why, it might be because of that. Submit an ask on the tumblr if you're affected.

I imagine someone gets a giggle out of messing with the site's users because 8chan is omitted from Google searches because of /hebe/. I do wonder what it's all about though. Do they think they're righteous or whatever in their harassment? Do they want to get a kick out of watching a community get disrupted? Is this some kind of honeypot to lure people into legal trouble or some kind of malicious harm or scam? I dun know much 'bout computers. :/

I have no idea. Though, 8chan has been subjected to black pr attacks. This is usually done by posting something illegal (cp, for example), taking a screenshot, and then claiming all 8chan posts are like that. It doesn't matter if the post is against the rules or if mods delete it later.
