 No.5021[Last 50 Posts]

At the risk of opening up even more cans of worms, here's a second iteration of the cringe thread.

I'll open up by posting for you all what awaited me in my inbox this morning.

(Please note these are comments made on ANOTHER ARTIST'S PROFILE).

I have no words.

He's *still* doing it.

I didn't cap it, but he asked this guy 5 times (all at once mind you) about my pic. FIVE.

He's also asked this about other's pics as well. Prob. because he wants these pics done so he can request something.

I told him to calm the fuck down. He said "don't use curse words around me."

AM I ON MARS?!

 No.5524

Yes. When emotes and short hand were really starting to spread, there were a lot of places where it was either not welcome or user heavily bitched about it.

 No.5527

>>5495

>>5524

That was 08. You seriously think it was about OMG and shit like that?

What it was was there was a core of younger members getting increased moderating power on the forums, in part because Jeff was taking a step back from actively running the place. Or maybe he already had. So you had this group of people who had become friends through networking at munches and gatherings and shit.

A lot of those people were shifting TMF culture into a quasicelebration of weird personal quirky shit. Add in that a lot of the stuff going down came as a result of female members (golden unicorns back in the day, remember, this is back when plenty of folks were fucking hung up on getting their kinkout there), along with this weird pre-TMF culture and…boom.

Soma user base kinda had to pick sides if they cared about being active. I will say that it was much ado about nothing. A lot of people involved with that whole fucking era were really psychologically damaged (and still are) and chemical dependent or unemployable losers who had this desperation to be important.

TMF has had trouble recovering in the wake of a lot of that. A lot of fly by night fuckers were given this weird forum celebrity status only to disappear. Probably to Fetlife….which itself is a fucking wasteland.

 No.5543

Yeah. Much as I want to side with the younger crowd, fuckers did take it to a bizarre level a lot of the time.

 No.5544

I'll put it this way; I know people who were homeless,I know people who literally were and still are unable to function in society from that era. Like, some of these people only exist because other community members gave them shelter.

Like, not fully this, but Brighteyes is literal walking cringe; super religious christian/catholic/whatever the fuck, gets married. The two are incompatible, maybe it had to do with faith or something, whatever. She leaves him…to become a sub and slave to LeeAllure. Now, she was pretty homophobic from what I remember, but that didn't stop her from being some chick's freaking bottom, along with constant cries that there wasn't no gay shit going on between them. Heard different though from 'sources'. Maintains being hardcore religious, and their relationship dissolves after Allure gets bored. Now she's super pro-Israel and even more fundamentalist into religion and shit like that.

I mean, Christ. The women there, with rare exceptions, weren't exactly worth anywhere near that trouble. They weren't attractive. They weren't terribly remarkable. But I guess saving an awkward tickle boner conversation was enough to make some folk swoon.

>I'll put it this way; I know people who were homeless,I know people who literally were and still are unable to function in society from that era. Like, some of these people only exist because other community members gave them shelter.

 No.5547

>>5544

A-fucking-men.

I've forgotten more of the bizarre shit I've seen on that site than I'll ever learn.

I liked that TMF helped people to have shelter, though. I mean, look at some of those people and the shit they type. The only reason they get away with being so…Well, fucked in the head, is because there seems to be this psychological phenomenon with TMFers and having their heads in the clouds. I've very rarely met someone into tickling that was well-grounded, and most of the people I have met are dreamers with some very, very specific sexual interests. From ladders (You all know who I'm talking about, don't lie) to vore with tickling to people shouting at producers because the model was wearing the wrong fucking colour nylons, I think I've seen it all. And then I go to the politics and religion forum and I see something that is so retarded it actually knocks the wind out of me.

Why do people flip out about vore so much? As long as you don't see some kind of crap like them melting away in stomach acid or whatever it's just them in a fleshy prison that makes them feel lewd and uncomfortable. I think he was probably talking more about the hard vore kinda stuff, where it's basically assumed the other person gets digested. That kinda makes it a mood killer, at least for me. In the pic you posted its sorta not the same kinda thing since the inside of the Pokemon is just apparently filled with fibers that tickle her.

Although, I guess it could be a fridge horror kinda thing too, since it gets its sustenance from that sorta thing apparently, it probably literally tickles people and/or other Pokemon to death, and digests them slower…

Look, I feel like a freak sometimes but I know that ticklefags are nowhere on the level of vore. I'm not hating, I'm just saying tickling is far more vanilla than vore. I think we can pass some judgement.

Knew who this was just from the onset of reading.

That era was really fucking weird. Part of it might be that a lot of people were made to feel special when nobody else made them ever feel that way in their lives. Like…wanted…whether truly or not.

It was made worse because you had a whole bunch of socially retarded men who were chasing their skirts, thinking if they were nice enough, they might get ticklelaid, or something. Or maybe it's something else. Look at a guy like alchemy. Dude was like a proto-fedora years before M'Lady was really a thing.

 No.5650

>>5632

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't consider vore any weirder than knife play, or any other fetish fantasy. But, and I think I can safely say this, I do consider it to be at the fringes of the tickling community, because a lot of the time it involves death. My point was less "holy shit, it's crazy!" and more to point out how different everyone is on there. Out of all the fetishes I've seen people discuss (and there are a lot), tickling people seem to be some of the fussiest, and yet farthest reaching in terms of what they like.

pi·ra·cy

ˈpīrəsē

noun

the practice of attacking and robbing ships at sea.

synonyms: freebooting, robbery at sea; archaicbuccaneering

"piracy on the high seas"

a practice similar to piracy but in other contexts, especially hijacking.

"air piracy"

the unauthorized use or reproduction of another's work.

plural noun: piracies

"software piracy"

synonyms: illegal copying, plagiarism, copyright infringement, bootlegging

"software piracy"

Nice grasp of definitions, btw.

>You're actively avoiding supporting their craft.

I'm informing you on how one could justify "piracy," for starters.

I'll now tear that argument apart.

Spreading their work far and wide, potentially bringing them customers and brand publicity without charging the artist or recipients a single cent? That's free advertising, and it's good for business.

You can't say that they are taking away the artists sales, as the pirate probably didn't want to buy it in the first place. Thus, no sales could have been lost

You can't equate it to stealing either. The artist sold a person a copy, which was then copied by the customer. How can you steal something if you originally bought it? How can you own something if you sold it to another person? If it is a copy of a legitimately obtained item made by the purchaser, given free of charge to someone else, how is it a stolen item? After all, the artist has no legal ownership of that copy as it was never in their possession and the item being copied was legally obtained.

"You can't prove I'm wrong, so I'm not wrong"

Being not guilty is different than being innocent.

They made a thing, they put a thing up for sale, you find a roundabout way to avoid paying them money saying "I deserve this even though I don't find it worth giving them anything in return" and you don't find that morally wrong?

The problem I have isn't with piracy as a whole, I have a problem with piracy in a small community like ours. If we pirate a game, it might very well give them more sales and better publicity but when your best chances for a market are 200 people -maybe-, it gets more complicated. The kind of people who peruse sites like deviantart and 4/8chan are not the most honorable people. If they can get something for free, they will.

Now I can't prove it, you know I can't prove it, but I'm right.

This is when it starts negatively impacting the creator. A pirated copy getting thrown on a /d/ thread or on a /tk/ thread can kill the comic's overall sales because half of their consumer base now owns the material.

Cory started crying again. His back, sides and even his legs burned with welts from the whipping. He had pleaded for them to stop, but they just laughed and sneered at him. Then, one of them held the boy still, as another one started making small cuts, working from one arm, down to the other, eventually all over his body and even on his face. Cory whimpered the whole time. It hurt bad, but the pain was nothing compared to the pain of the whip marks; at least, not at first. He soon found that the small injuries all over his body stung, creating a symphony of pain all over him. But that was nothing compared to what they did next.

A whole bunch of liquid was dumped over him. Rather than refreshing him, instead, it seemed to turn to liquid fire as it poured down his body. He caught a smell and realized what it was; vinegar. He screamed long and hard as every little cut burned horrendously, and the whip welts were even worse. And throughout the boy's long, agonized screaming, the men around him had just laughed."

>"You can't prove I'm wrong, so I'm not wrong"

I haven't said anything that equates to this.

>"Being not guilty is different than being innocent.

According to law, one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Unless you can prove that I have legally/objectively done something wrong, then I have done nothing wrong.

>They made a thing, they put a thing up for sale, you find a roundabout way to avoid paying them money saying "I deserve this even though I don't find it worth giving them anything in return" and you don't find that morally wrong?

This is projection, as neither you or I know the intentions of anyone but ourselves.

>The kind of people who peruse sites like deviantart and 4/8chan are not the most honorable people. If they can get something for free, they will.

Is it not part of nature to prefer the least amount of effort to obtain something? To follow the more efficient route?

>Now I can't prove it, you know I can't prove it, but I'm right.

That's circular logic. You're right because you're right?

>If we pirate a game, it might very well give them more sales and better publicity but when your best chances for a market are 200 people -maybe-, it gets more complicated.

Fair point, however, the reason for that stems from a lack of publicity. You'd need people to shill your work in more places than just /tk/ or /d/, because evidence suggests there are thousands of potential customers that aren't being reached.

 No.6498

>>6496

Not him but…

>according to the law

>unless you can prove I've done something legally/objectively wrong

The law does not equate to any kind of ultimate truth and is faulty even to it's own ends. It's a matter of principle that you don't knowingly screw over your fellow man, that's why people initially make laws.

>This is projection

Go fuck yourself. Anything other than that is someone being either incredibly deluded or flat out insane. You don't pirate unless you want the thing you're pirating, how you could even try and reason that someone couldn't know your intentions is beyond me.

>quickest and most efficient route

So you really do just flat out endorse any kind of theft?

>pirates act as shills

-because that helped celebrated video games like Ghost Trick not fail, right? Let's be real here, how many people do you think know think can even recall the pen name of most of their top 10 favorite doujin artists? -and then it gets passed along to the next guy under the premise that they'll be the better person than you were rather than do exactly what you just did as a fellow pirate.

>That's circular logic

No it isn't, he's saying that while he can't give you raw data to support his statement you lknow as well as he does how people are prone to act.

I pirate things all the time but even pirates hate hearing other obnoxious pirates try and justify their actions. You pirate because you can, not because you care about any of the arguments you present. Nobody cares if Hollywood loses money (which they don't, they're more profitable than ever) but if you're going to not compensate someone who's at a level where they just want to support themselves or get their foot in the door for their work you should at least have the balls to admit you did it without consideration for them.

>So you really do just flat out endorse any kind of theft?

We are discussing the nuances of copyright law, not theft. Theft implies the object was taken from your possession without payment, and that is objectively wrong.

>You don't pirate unless you want the thing you're pirating, how you could even try and reason that someone couldn't know your intentions is beyond me.

Yes, but can you truly know what someone is thinking beyond a rough approximation.

>because that helped celebrated video games like Ghost Trick not fail, right?

Pic related. Why is it celebrated if it failed? I have never even heard of Ghost Trick. I was born in the 90s, when Quake 2, C&C, and Age of Empires got popular as fuck.

>You pirate because you can, not because you care about any of the arguments you present.

I pirate because I am poor, and usually only games or music. I'll download good reading material when it comes up, but you act like these artists are all starving pygmies in New Guinea or something. I do care about my arguments, as well i should whilst debating. I am stripping morality from the equation in order to think objectively.

I have the common courtesy to take action when money is charged for pirated material or claims that they created the content, but it would be hypocritical of me to report simple garden variety DMCA violations, knowing that I have benefitted from them. That would be a conflict of interest.

-Right, but as you phrased it someone should be allowed to pursue something if it's quick and easy. Why you went out of your way to say that I don't know, but you tried to make a point of it. Whether you want to equate piracy to theft I was also trying to hint that what constitutes a theft or a crime is relative.

-Why on earth do you pursue this retarded argument? This is the kind of shit a fictional artificial character tries to press. But do go ahead and confirm things so we can stop going back and forth about it.

-So was I, but you can blame the priorities of the masses. Any cult classic is on the same boat, the point is it's reputation didn't save it and it had miserable sales because a big percentage of those who enjoyed it pirated it and people don't care about anything that isn't a AAA title.

-You don't have to compare something to the highest extreme to see it as relevant.

>I take morality out of the equation to see things objectively

You're seriously going to try and insult someone's intelligence and then literally say you're making a better argument by removing the whole of the argument? Also nice abuse of the word "objective", you'd think people would knock that off by now. Your level of wealth or the conflicts of interest you pointlessly referenced don't mean anything to the argument of the legitimacy of piracy. Good on you for reporting scams or whatever but that's also a separate decision. Once again I only ask that you admit that you do it because you ultimately don't care (or rather don't try and raise up a storm to try and convince everyone to the contrary). I would completely understand really, I'm a hell of an apathetic person myself who has his own problems including financial ones but I don't make excuses for who I am.

DA is one of those places that expects people to try and solve thier own problems, mostly by using the ignore feature. And of course no one does, so it's become a trolls paradise. One of the foot groups had this troll a year or two ago who was replying to every comment in the group and over half the images linked there that was anything like "these are nice" with "you're disgusting". It got bad enough that the group owner blocked her and a DA mod formally warned her.

Funny thing, she tried it again months later with a foot group on Tumbler and got called out on it right quick.

On an unrelated note, something which I feel is relevant to the topic of cringe is the idea of second-hand and accumulating cringe.

That uncomfortable situation where friends or workmates recognise your artstyle from your non-fetishy SFW stuff. The situation where someone almost discovered your list of commissioners and what they were paying you to draw. That awkward case of Google imaging character art as references for drawing them, only to find that in the dozen or so top rows of your search results, you see familiar tickling fetish pics of those characters. (Worse still if it's your own pics popping up!) This often happens with niche comic book characters; so you get tickle pics for Horridus and The Astounding Wolf-Man.

Now here's where the tertiary cringe comes from. What if those very same comic book illustrators for those characters decided to view the fan art of their respective characters? Worse still, what if you were the one drawing the fetish works!?

What happens when they send you a note with vague approval or praise, but are noticeably perplexed, asking, "what's up with the excessively gratuitous tickle torture?"

And then they send you tickling pics back, and you're not sure if they're just messing with you.

How many levels does cringe have? How much discomfort can one man take?

 No.7185

>>7184

We can only cringe about things that actually happened, and not these nebulous hypothetical situations.

DA is the well spring of cringe with its subpar images that come up in its search results that often don't qualify as tickling pics, and even when they do, they're subpar; and when they're decent, you get subhuman commenters.

sub- subby- sub-sub.

More like an entry level gateway drug to furfaggotry. Because some people do not have the technical expertise—or the budget—for resin cast masks with finely airbrushed details, moving parts, and a full taxidermy jawset with other orthodontic features to pull off that killer smile.

Make sure to keep it locked away in an airtight box (filled with silica gel packets and mothballs) and hope that no one ever finds it. You can't convince everyone every time that it's an amateur horror film prop. You must take that secret with you to your grave, and have the box buried beneath a rowan tree. When a girl puts on a bowit isn't because she can't afford to dress up as a sexy Christmas present or mummy. If what you said was true the anime industry would constantly be making full-on furry characters and not just having them put on ears and a tail.

No, I was being facetious. That's why my post was written like something that would look more at home next to a game of Mad Libs. I don't think a woman dressing up as a nurse or a police officer for Halloween or other costume parties are necessarily planning on committing any federal offences by impersonating an actual nurse or police officer anymore than a woman dressed up with cat ears is trying to enact supposed rituals of dubious providence that require imbibing specially prepared roots and extracts of poisonous plant, described in the text with obsolete units of measurement with no known modern conversion.

>It's just a decoration like a bow. When a girl puts on a bow, it isn't because she can't afford to dress up as a sexy Christmas present or mummy.

The image on the left is fine: Werewolf soldier being tickled, no problem. Realism done right.

I'm a Tickler, not a foot fetishists, so my opinion doesn't count for much. It just irks me because it messes up all the anatomical preconceptions I have. >and it ends up not serving anyone.

As the guy who wrote it, I can confirm that it only exists to disappoint by making the subject matter very bland. It neither goes anywhere nor does anything with the premise, it just waffles on and on with what could have been summarised in a sentence or two.

I didn't like the clown idea suggested by Anon (>>6559), so I decided to mock him for coming up with it by making it all the more unappealing, but also more thread related by throwing in werewolves. The notoriously bad writing wasn't deliberate, it's just naturally that bad. :p I'm glad to see that someone was honest enough to come forward and secure its spot here, to be forever commemorated on the cringe thread.

>>7358

>it's just bizarre

To put your mind at ease, I'll provide the context behind that post. I spotted Anon mentioning clowns in the furry tickling thread, so I decided to make a single disproportionately large post about how that would clearly be the premise to a horror story by posting an informal report written in-character from what is presumed to be a shady scientist working for a less-than-friendly biomedical firm. An incredibly dumb idea, which was not taken as the joke it was meant to be. (It came complete with a monstrous clown autopsy that mentions finding glitter, just in case someone didn't get the hint.)

tl;dr Anon mentions clowns in a furry thread, so as a joke, I turned that idea into something you'd have expected from something like Resident Evil, but with werewolves.

You kind of turned me off from Pokémon tickling by pointedly implying that tickling a Charizard could incidentally end with breathing in superheated air sufficient to severely damage one's own lungs. The recommendations on how to appropriately restrain one for safe tickling practices has convinced me that you actually enjoy tickling dangerous Pokémon.

The rest of your post was wordy bullshit that ends up not serving anyone. Am I doing it right, senpai? :^)

Yes, I'm sure it was a good spine tingling cringe. Also, a Flame Burst attack produced by a Charizard has a temperature of 1600°C. This has nothing to do with tickling nor will this entirely made up information ever help you, but you can always cringe over the fact that someone had to have somehow come up with that number.

Hell, I even spoke to a few of them and tried to give them pointers and encouragement…. only some pulled through and a bunch went super aggro at me so I stopped doing it. Started to try and do it again recently…. Still nothing but drama or in the case of a lot of the writers: "I AM FUCKING GOD! YOU TRY WRITING STORIES YOU FUCKING TROLL!" …. I do write stories, granted mine aren't that great (especially when you compare it to some of the fantastic writers we have in the community, even on DA!) so I have some perspective about how to write stories, especially after having read so many great ones. Let me tell you this: "He tickled her and she laughed" does not make for good writing! (Looking at you Tom6GH and CardfightVanguard!
