Soma user base kinda had to pick sides if they cared about being active. I will say that it was much ado about nothing. You can't equate it to stealing either. The artist sold a person a copy, which was then copied by the customer. How can you steal something if you originally bought it? How can you own something if you sold it to another person? If it is a copy of a legitimately obtained item made by the purchaser, given free of charge to someone else, how is it a stolen item? After all, the artist has no legal ownership of that copy as it was never in their possession and the item being copied was legally obtained.

DA is one of those places that expects people to try and solve thier own problems, mostly by using the ignore feature. And of course no one does, so it's become a trolls paradise. One of the foot groups had this troll a year or two ago who was replying to every comment in the group and over half the images linked there that was anything like "these are nice" with "you're disgusting". I used to follow people to try give them the incentive to improve and keep at it. Hell, I even spoke to a few of them and tried to give them pointers and encouragement…. only some pulled through and a bunch went super aggro at me so I stopped doing it. Started to try and do it again recently…. Still nothing but drama or in the case of a lot of the writers: "I AM FUCKING GOD! YOU TRY WRITING STORIES YOU FUCKING TROLL!" …. I do write stories, granted mine aren't that great (especially when you compare it to some of the fantastic writers we have in the community, even on DA!) so I have some perspective about how to write stories, especially after having read so many great ones. Let me tell you this: "He tickled her and she laughed" does not make for good writing! (Looking at you Tom6GH and CardfightVanguard! Seriously just stick to the art, at least you guys are somewhat good at that!)
