So over in furry tickling thread #5, I was kicking around this idea:
In the past, I've seen the various forums/threads/boards occasionally pool some money together to commission a picture that the board wants to see. Since most of the folks here seem nice enough, I'd thought perhaps we could give it a try.
Now of course we'll need ideas as well as potential artists. The only idea I have right now is all the namefag furries here being tickled by all the namefag non-furres + anons. (The reason being because we've managed to autosage the furry thread 4 times now).
Obviously that idea may not be of interest to those not into furry folk, so anyone who has another idea that they think they could rally the board behind should post them here.
Also, if anyone knows of any artists that'd be willing to take on such a pic, suggest them.

I tried asking before, the general consensus is while there was some luck in the past there's not much interest in trying again. Some of the guys from the last few apparently weren't too happy with the end result but didn't want to be "that guy" and felt like they paid for something they didn't like. I get it, but it still sucks.
Furry shit might go over better though, you guys seem like you come to a better consensus with your interests.

would be nice if it were true, but there's always debates on how feet should look because of varying opinions along with people who prefer entirely male images over female or mixed, people being particular on certain artists and their art styles, etc, etc.
Trust me, I've come across plenty of people who tell me "this would be better if you drew paws" or "they look weird with X amount of toes" or "I'd like this more if it was a guy"… you can't please 'em all.

This to me seems to be one of the failures of the community commission idea when it's put into practice, the more people you have the harder it becomes to agree on something. Can work if everyone involved is generally happy with the outcome, but depending on preferences some people can come out outwards feeling like they didn't get exactly what they wanted.
One piece of general advice, if you get people together you're going to want to decide on a reliable mouthpiece who can act as a go between and make sure everyone adds their share of funds, also one who isn't afraid to stand up to artist if they want to add something or something the group decided on changing ends up not being changed.

Well this is the main reason why my audience participation polls have all had multiple victims, and why my recent one with just one victim used semi-randomized results; the goal is to come up with something that can please everyone. But, like Lance said, that's an impossibility. But that doesn't mean you can't try your best anyway.
And yeah, furries have endless debates about things like paw style and whatnot (hell I still have to convince people that talons/hooves *are* ticklish), but most *sane* furres don't get up in arms about those kind of details, recognizing at the end of the day that it's just a tickle pic.
And besides, like I said, the folks on this board seem mature and sensible enough to tolerate and respect such differences of opinion.
So…in our case, it might take a little while.
Anyway, enough about semantics, let's talk about actual pics. As of right now I have two ideas.
The first, as mentioned above, is the namefag furries being tickled. There's only a handful of namefag furries (I think) so it shouldn't really be a problem. Each furre can be tickled by either a non-furre namefag/anon or by one of the "usual" implements (machines, tentacles, ghost hands, etc.). There should be enough for everyone to kind of have their own say.
As for artist? I'd suggest Alienshade but I already got him drawing some other pics for me, so I nominate our own Lance :>
The other idea I had was something involving the board's mascot. This is probably where things might be more complicated because it's just one victim as opposed to several, but all the same I put my confidence in you folks to work something out.
Artist for this one? I'd suggest whoever did the already existing pics of her. I'm not much into human tickles these days, but those were really good.
Anyway, once we have the general approval of folks (and artists lined up) I can go ahead and create some handy google docs so we can keep everything organized.

Quinton and Footpaws don't offer commissions, ZP and WTFeather are busy enough as it is, FireFox would actually be a decent alternate but he's *impossible* to get a hold of, and I have no idea who Yami is.

I sort of feel like trying to get some kind of concept I wanted would probably end in some kind of compromise and regardless end up as more of a hassle than it's worth. Something similar I would want is getting certain doujins translated. I think that DesuDesu guy who did the Rape and Tickle Test translations had something set up where he kept track of how far to a goal payment was made to certain projects by various people but I don't remember his rate. It's really something that I think would be awesome to make money off of myself but I suck real bad at learning Japanese.
