Personally I think some people are too quick to call someone a pedophile because they do a drawing of a character that is underage or appears to be underage without taking into consideration what else they've done or why they may like those characters.

Take Kidetic for example, he has done pictures of Penny from Inspector Gadget, Hit-Girl, and the child form of Shiho Miyano, but he has also done pictures of Tifa, Samus, and the adult version of Shiho Miyano. Is he a pedophile or does he just have an eclectic taste?

Personally I'm the same and know some other people who are like that. Underage characters usually appeal to me because I have a major thing for cuteness and a preference for short characters. Of course said characters are usually from video games, anime, manga, etc, so they usually don't come anywhere near approaching what a realistic child looks or behaves like. When I do come across a character from one of those genres who actually looks like or behaves like a child, the sexual part of me shuts down.

At any rate, my point is that you shouldn't rush to judgement just from one or two pictures or stories. If it's someone like Kidetic, it's probably just a case of eclectic taste, if it's someone whose work is about nothing but characters who are children or close to it, then you may actually have a case.
