First I'll to talk about the music I've added between then and now just to get it out of the way or as a kinda warmup.
Sonic Adventure: it feels kinda wrong putting this on the list before any other Sonic games, but I just haven't really listened to any of those games songs resently, but they'll definately get on here eventually. There's a lot of pretty good stuff in here, but one really stands out.
Theme of E-102γ- https://youtu.be/xnz-_KOkjJ4?list=PL2KFeZXOXBrraooKj44ZvMYL9xlquKGMV -This song is really great, it has the robot-y electical noises and percussion contrasting the soft, slow, almost sad piano, it really fit's the character.
There's one more that's above par.
Sweet Punch (Hedgehog Hammer)- https://youtu.be/Uiu91x4Hmgc -Oh, man this song is so damn catchy, it kept me playing that stupid mini-game for way longer than anyone concivably should.
Mario Paint: this game had some good music, I don't really have any that I like more than the rest, but I could probably listen to all of it for hours on end, it's just so realxed and/or catchy. Exept for Creative Exercise, I never cared for that track…
I also have a track from the currently unrelesed Mother 4 and on top of that it's a track that, they changed later in devopment (much to my dismay). I already did a writeup on this song in an argument on reddit so I'll just copy paste that here with some edits for context.
Level-Up Themes (beta)- https://youtu.be/Mj7yUKgo7cQ -
>Travis's glockenspiel (or whatever it is) it's pretty much just the basic level-up music for all other mother games anc since Travis is kinda the one who leads the team it fits that he has the rhythm track that keeps everyone together.
>Zack's piccolo is similar sounding to Travis, but they're brothers so that makes sense.
>Meryl's violin, it alternates ears in a waltz-y kinda way which I really like.
>Floyd's drum's just good sounding but it really fells good when there's one or more other party members in there.
>Leo's sax has so much character, yeah, it takes center stage and kinda puts all the other character's instruments in the background, but Leo seems like pretty in your face kinda guy. But there's more to the reason why I like it so much. Listen to it by itself. Doesn't it sound so… lonely? Every note echos into the distance. Maybe it's just me looking way way too far into what is *literally* just a jingle, but I feel like this is part of Leo's character; he seems tough and confident on the outside when he's with his friends, but deep down maybe he's afraid of being alone. But that's probably just something I constructed in my head after listening to this song too many times.
Ehh… this was kinda better when it's in the context of the argument, but whatever.
