Dead board but whatever, I'll post my two cents.
On a nostalgia-fueled bender, I ended up purchasing all six of the revamped Toa sets. There are some positives and some negatives, but overall I think they're alright, especially the larger sets.
The builds are simple, although nothing like I remember the original sets being like. The whole Hero Factory snap-on armor thing I have mixed feelings about; there's a lot of permutations you can do with that, but even so, every set looks pretty similar to each other. The design of each is alright and harkens back to the original sets (Mata and Nuva) in a good way. I'm not entirely a fan of the new masks, especially since you can't use them on anything but the new heads, but they're okay for what they are I guess.
What I was pleasantly surprised to discover was the return of action features, and in a pretty smart way. In the original line, action features were phased out over time because the free-moving gears hampered posability; you could make a neat pose only to have gravity fuck you over and make the arm swing back down again. But the new sets have a bit of friction to the action features, not enough to hamper movement but just enough to let poses stick where you want them to. I was definitely pleased by that.
All in all, I think the new sets are alright. Pick up your favorite Toa from years ago and see what you think. At worst, you're only out $15 or $20 (although that hurt my wallet, I remember when the original Toa were $6).
