Alright fellow toddlercon bros, after seeing this board go so long without any banners I took it upon myself to get things rolling and made some for our glorious board. Hope you guys like'em though my editing skills are just limited to simply stuff like MS Paint and whatever. If anyone wants to alter the banners I post like adding the 8chan symbol or other edits then feel free, as my editing skills are pretty basic atm.
Spec details if you want to contribute some banners, taken from the /loli/ banner thread.
Resolution: 300x100 max
Filesize: 500KB
File types allowed: JPEG, PNG, Gif
Someone other than me will probably have to take care of doing gif banners though, I don't really have any way to reliably or efficiently do gifs for us, so it'll be mainly still pics from me unless someone knows a good gif making program better than Gif Cam.
Well hope you all enjoy the banners and feel free to join in and make your own. This board could certainly use a few and anything that could possibly bring people to peruse this board more often would be a good thing.

>>221The way I do it is to think in multiple of 3 in regards to the resolution. 600x200 for example when downscaled to 300x100 will still have the same native resolution and no cropping or stretching. Plus with MS Paint sometimes I'll move things around to make a better looking banner material, or adding little pixels here and there like with Banner 19's text to make it readable.
Another thing I've done since MS Paint can be a bit crappy trying to select a rectangle box at the exact resolution I want (since after selecting a box you can't change the size of the selected box, it just stretches the image instead which sucks but whatever), is to just use a screencapture program (I use one called Gadwin Printscreen and it does a great job). So basically as long as you can keep an eye on the resolution of the selected screengrab area with your screengrab program you can make a box at the ideal resolution you want much easier than with Paint, as you can adjust the parameters to change the size of the box easily and without actually altering the portion of the image you're screengrabbing. And you can drag the screengrab box around to find just the right area to screengrab then downsize into 300x100 or whatever resolution you can get.
Also posting another banner I made. Some sorts of pics and such are more suitable for banners with positioning of things on the pic and such, since banners are horizontal and not vertical and such. It's not generally too complicated, as it's just generally selecting a rectangle box of a pic at a resolution that'll have that equal 3:1 ratio between width and height.

Glad you like'em, glad to be able to contribute to this board. I'd enjoy it if toddlercon had a presence here and people flocked to a single space like this for community, since so many other sites simply don't allow things such as toddlercon or loli. Just wanted to help spruce things up and get some activity going on this board and share my fetish interest, plus I did a few banner attempts on /loli/ so why not? :)
Be back in a short bit with the next wave of banners. I've done all the banners in this thread so far (see file names for banners) but I'm looking forward to see if what others have lined up since I'd enjoy other contibutions.

So what would being a volunteer for the board entail exactly? Not sure if I'd be able to take up the responsibility but I'm interested in hearing more about it. Haven't ever had that sort of position before.
I take it things like volunteers or finding anyone remotely interested in slim pickings though, considering we need ways to grow the crowd on this board as well so the number of people hanging out on this board grows as well as the general activity, since I myself won't always be able to post or commence pic dumps here when I have other things on my plate to take care of. Would enjoy it if this community were able to grow and find this place good to stay.
