Hi, I'm Erin.
Hotwheels have given me mod rights over this board due to the previous mod's absence, though if they're still around I'm happy to hand back.
A little about me: I'm a transgirl just about to start my second year of HRT. I have a cis gf and she is great.
Now, the board seems pretty self moderating, people who don't like the content stay clear and those who do generally contribute well, so I don't feel the night to be lurking 24/7. However, it seems some upkeep is in order. For one, we need banners.

If you want people to know who you are, you can use a name or just say which posts you made, and if you want to know if you're talking to someone who made a previous post, you can ask them.
Without anonymity, people can't talk as freely. I won't ask or say what I want to in a thread because I'll have to first think what else I might later want to say and if I'd mind if people know both bits of conversation are from me.
IMO IDs should only be used if a board has problems with anonymity, like samefagging being used to disrupt or trolls/spammers or something like that. Not just to see who people are, because that can be handled by individuals as and when and how they want it.

Why does it matter for any other idea I have that I don't like IDs? I don't think it should. Just look at the suggestion on its own. If I wanted it to be connected I'd say "and another thing" or something like that.
They'd be two different discussions about different things.
In fact, consider this: two people can argue with each other in the same thread as they agree with each other in a different conversation, but only without IDs.
Otherwise, no matter how much I agree with your one post, I'll keep remembering that you also said that thing I totally hate.

You can still have structure just by following quotes. If you reply to someone and then two people reply to your reply, does it really matter which one, if either, was the original? They're both saying something about your latest post, and you can bring up the previous posts in your next reply if it matters.
