Hey /trap/, how do you burn belly fat while on estrogen? Ive been running and doing my regular routine but all I do is maintain my current weight rather than lose it.

Fat accumulates around the stomach due to cortisol and insulin.

Cortisol is usually due to stress, and that is such a complex issue it is too much to cover here. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, find time to smile and be happy, and do whatever you can for yourself to be in a good space.

Insulin is due to sweet and starchy foods. Look to get more of your calories from fat and less from carbohydrates. Reduce grains and potatoes, eat more fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Exercise only does so much when it comes to weight, dietary changes go a lot further overall. There are some physical exercises like planks that are good for toning the stomach muscles.

This is one of my favorite diet/fitness sites: http://www.marksdailyapple.com

Also, looking around, here is a good article that rehashes most of what I said above and goes into more detail.

And one question: How is your posture? If you slump a lot, that can definitely make your gut more pronounced.

Thanks! Really helpful. I'll try to switch up my diet.

My posture is usually pretty good, I keep my back arched and shoulders down. Though sometimes I find myself slouching. I suck in my stomach like 24/7

Which might be the reason you're slouching. Be careful of that. Look into exercises that stretch the abdominals, and stretch/release the psoas muscles.

A lot of actors and actresses learn Alexander Technique, as it helps them to move more elegantly.
