The shotgun the Russian has that Flimsii thought was pump action looks more like a Benelli M4 or a FN SLP, both of which are gas-operated autoloaders, meaning they could be fired one-handed.>>12226A hospital? Hope you aren't in ER or anything, I can't even begin to imagine what horrors people see in there.
No.12229
>>12227Why the heck would he do that? That would be weird.
No.12230
>>12228Well he was definitely right about him getting that shotgun out of nowhere, and about how unlikely it was that no one from Clem's group got shot.
I really was expecting at least half of the group to be wiped out then and there, perhaps Kenny getting seriously injured as well.
Instead they rek the Russians and the black lady dies and not even from a gunshot.
No.12231
>>12230Yeah, I remember people on halfchan were betting on who was gonna get shot.
I thought Mike was dead for sure, there was no way a Russian skinhead wouldn't shoot a black man given the opportunity
No.12232
>>12222>when in reality the entire conflict was incredibly contrived and superficial.Exactly. If telltale had really committed to making Kenny seem crazy instead of just making him an understandably flawed human with human reactions and made his final confrontation with Luke instead of Jane, the ending would've been just fine. Maybe a bit predictable, but it certainly would've been better than what we got.
No.12233
>>12227Nah, but there was a young girl who reminded me very much of Clem that I took care of once.
>>12228>A hospital? Hope you aren't in ER or anythingSometimes. I work where I'm needed. There aren't too many gruesome injuries during my hours though. The worst I remember was a guy with two gunshot wounds (a gift from police for trying to rob a 7-11). He lived, but there was so much blood. I've been surprised in the past how little some gunshots bleed, but this guy was hit in his Celiac artery. He was lucky to survive, although he's in prison now.
No.12234
>>12233Too bad he lived, he'll just learn to be a better criminal in prison and be a drain on tax dollars.
No.12235
>>12232So many missed opportunities. Hell, I'm starting to think I could write a better story than TTG.
Like, what about saving Sarah? First of all, Luke is the only one who even mentions if Clem leaves Sarah in the trailer. Second, even if you save her, she dies later with almost no reaction.
Instead, how about this:
Saving her means the group has another mouth to feed, and one that isn't particularly helpful. Sarah's dependence on others would be magnified tenfold now that they were on the move and not in any camp. Jane might condemn you since Sarah would be dead weight to her.
Leaving her in the trailer would incur a lot of suspicion and distrust in the group towards Clem. However, TTG could have played out what they were getting at in the scene in the first place: Jane would have pointed out that Sarah "wanted" to die or had lost the will to live and was a burden to the group. Heck, this conflict could actually provide
some reason and meaning behind Jane and Kenny's conflict in EP5, instead of the trivial shit we got.
No.12236
>>12235>Hell, I'm starting to think I could write a better story than TTG.I don't doubt it. I've played indie games made by a single person with gameplay and story magnitudes better than anything TTG has released to date. In fact, here's an example of what I'm talking about.
The game is called Iji, which is also the name of the girl you play as. Aliens bombard the planet from orbit devastating the human population and then move in to colonize it. Iji and her only surviving family member try to devise a way to rid Earth of the invaders.
You can choose between playing lethally or non-lethally and utilizing a slew of skills that will make either playstyle easier or harder for you.
If you play non-lethally, Iji is a much gentler character and this is reflected heavily by dialogue in cutscenes or in journals, and if you accidentally kill an enemy she will respond appropriately by saying "Oh God" or something similar that shows her remorse/reluctance. There's even a major story event that you can change the outcome of which will
actually effect the story.Alternatively, if you kill the invading aliens with no remorse for life, this is also reflected. People will comment on how many she has killed and she will become very bloodthirsty, shouting taunts and death threats at enemies as she kills them.
Characters you speak to directly and enemy journals you find around levels may refer to Iji as a saint, a murderer or even if you've just killed
some enemies, that too will be noted.
There are dozens of different skills to invest points in that allow you access to different ways of playing the game and even collectibles and easter eggs that will effect the story and Iji's character.
The gameplay and the story reflects how you've been playing, your choices and even how thoroughly you've been exploring the levels.
Even with all I've written here I'm failing to do Iji and it's wonderfully crafted story justice.
My point is that the game I am talking about was made by a single person in their spare time and made available to people to play for free. TWD is made by a group of developers, albeit a small group, and had an actual budget, yet the games they put out have barely a fraction of the depth that Iji does.
tl;dr small dev team or no, it shows when you really care about what you're making and put all of yourself into it.

But when the episode 5 rolled around, and she decided to pretend like she isn't a Darwinist or a brutal killer I developed a distaste for her. I find the situations with the stranger and Lee, and Kenny and Jane to be comparable. Who was worse, the stranger or Jane?
No.12276
>>12274The stranger, definitely. He was just plain psycho, and had the capacity to hurt Clem. Jane probably wouldn't intentionally hurt her.
No.12277
>>12261If you're still here, Happy birthday anon!
No.12278
>>12274I'd say Jane, and if it weren't for my most recent season 1 playthrough I'd have said the stranger.
In my most recent playthrough I didn't cut Lee's arm off. During the confrontation with the stranger, I told him that I was bitten. Immediately he became more sympathetic towards Lee, he promised to look after Clementine for him and he had seemed to forgive Lee for the wrongdoings he thought he had done.
Then of course he talks to his wife's severed head, but at least for one moment he wasn't such an unreasonable bastard.
I just never liked Jane. I was really creeped out when she was telling Clem about how mean she was to her sister and how she let her die. Having sex with Luke while she should've been getting that gate open put the entire group at risk, Clem included.
And of course the last bit of the game where she leaves AJ in a freezing car with Walkers all around so she can goad Kenny into a confrontation. Jane is a sociopath. I'll take someone who loses his cool occasionally because he's passionate about protecting children over someone who'd endanger an infant because she wants a new little sister.
No.12279
>>12278>I just never liked JaneI think alot of people disliked Jane up until the fight with Kenny. I didn't understand why so many people all of the sudden liked her after it, but I think I do now. Kenny haters became Janefags because of the fight.
No.12280
>>12279Pretty much. They'd have been fags for anyone who opposed Kenny.
No.12281
>>12279Pretty much. Take that crazy cluke chick, she HATED Jane up until the Kenny/Jane fight, now all of a sudden she is her #1 fan. Lilly fans seem to be similar. It's not just that they like Lilly or Jane, though I'm sure they do to some extent, but their main thing is that they hate Kenny, and that's what drives them towards those characters. They hate Kenny more then they like the characters they claim to be fans of.
No.12282
>>12281>>12279It's never made sense to me why so many didn't side with Kenny in season 1.
Larry had just tried to leave you for dead in the last episode after you spent half of it trying to get medicine to save his life. The next episode you're given the opportunity to exact your revenge. If that wasn't enough, Kenny gives you a good reason to be concerned with both your safety and Clementine's.
No.12283
>>12281This is true. I think anyone who shot Kenny isn't a true Clemfag because they probably know that deep down, even though she has the option to shot him, Clementine doesn't really have anything against Kenny.
No.12284
>>12282I honestly didn't want anyone to die, Larry included, and I understood that killing him would destroy the group. But the thing is, I *really* didn't want anyone to die.
Chances of CPR bringing him back were very small, if his heart actually stopped, there was no chance at all. They were trapped, had no weapons and nowhere to hide or run from a 6.8 dead guy… Risking Clementine who depends on you completely, along with pretty much everyone else in the group, from Kenny and Lilly who are also trapped in the meat locker, to Kat and Duck who were being held hostage elsewhere and were waiting rescue, for the sake of one, old, angry, sick dude, seemed immoral to me.
I didn't enjoy it, but it was the right thing to do.
No.12285
>>12284>I understood that killing him would destroy the group. How exactly?
Larry was the single most abrasive member of the group. He was a horrible piece of shit to everyone.
The only thing that changed after his death was Lilly being more distant. Kenny, Kaatja, Carly/Doug and Ben didn't care at all.
No.12286
>>12285One group member killing another is a big deal, even if it was the right thing to do. Lilly wouldn't trust Kenny or Lee again, and I expected the rest of them to be butthurt about it too.
Ultimately the divide I pictured didn't come about. But the trauma did cause Lilly to become mental and to lose trust in her fellow survivors, which ended in one death and her banishment.
No.12287
>>12285Killing Larry was the first instance (I think) of trying to prevent someone from turning after death. He wasn't a walker yet; it's a reasonable thing to think it might not go over so well.

Speaking of which, the way the group decided to cross the ice was completely boneheaded. It's kinda like crossing a minefield, one person leads and everyone else follows.
