Didn't have much time to explain my post cause I was in game. Guess I'll do that now.
>>13115I was gonna continue this thought by saying I think the combination of Christa, Omid and Lee would have been ideal caretakers for Clem. Christa could focus more on the survival aspect, whereas Lee strikes me as wanting to keep the group together and focused not just on surviving, but on living a good life, along with Omid. Lee and Omid could chat about civil war history, while Clem and Christa could gossip or whatever
I realize this is an incredibly shallow way to think about them, but I really have no idea what Christa and Clem could talk about, and yet I still think they could talk all dayAdditionally, being only 4 people means that the group could stay mobile but at the same time protect itself effectively from both zombies and bandits.

>>13141Lets say instead of 2-3 bandits, it's more like 5-7. Depending on how many of the 400 days guys that are with you, you either play the fight aggressively but take heavier losses (all of the 400 days guys), fight defensively if you only have about half of them but still lose them, or retreat and escape if you didn't bring any of them. Something like that, maybe.
No.13143
>>13142I just realized that having all of the 400 Days guys die means Becca dies too. I think it'd be better for Shel to die, but not Becca, as it'd give us an emotional scene where she says goodbye to Shel.

>>13142Psh. Mike. Who cares about that loser, right?
Interesting idea with the different fight outcomes though. I assume the Ruskis' losses would be proportional to your own? I.e you kill everybody when you have a lot of people, Arvo is left over when you have fewer, and you just run away from them if you have very few?
Great, now I'm trying to figure out how TT would railroad you into the same story if that happened.

>>13144Yeah, you'd kill them all if you fight aggressively, kill most but the rest rout if you fight defensively, only kill a few but lose the rest if you run away.
Everyone from 400 days who survives the fight falls in the ice later, obviously. How else would you kill off the characters you're too lazy to write a decent ending for?

>>13135I'd make the ordeal at Carver's last longer then an episode. And during that time you'd get to meet and interact with the rest of the 400 days crew. Some, like Russ, Shel and Becca could be convinced to come with, provided you made the right choices when interacting with them, as well as the 400 days DLC (for example: Shel wouldn't agree to go if she previously agreed to stay with Roman and kill Steph). Naturally they'd die to the horde during the escape or the shootout, because choices can't end up mattering too much.

>>13162It'll never happen, but I could see game having a World War Z-ish (the book, not the movie) ending where
after several years of surviving and learning how to fight back humanity exterminates most walkers and a new, unique civilization emerges from the ashes. Clementine and/or an older AJ would be instrumental in bringing about this new world, making Lee's sacrifice more important on a larger scale than he could've imagined. "It's gonna get better Clem. You'll make it better. Again, it'll never happen, unless the same thing happened in the comics of course.
What's more important, of course, is that Clem is actually given a clear character arc that will be wrapped up satisfyingly, no matter what happens to her, in the final season.

Damn posting is fucked up again.
So, about that cannibalism discussion. What would you guys do?
No.13216
We were discussing cannibalism in the stream chat, as it was a major part of the film we were watching (The Road).
If you and Clementine were starving, would you eat human flesh? Assuming it was safe to eat, unlike how dead flesh got infected in the comic/game.
No.13217
>>13214So, while the subject of cannibalism is still on everyone's minds, after seeing The Road where the only alternative to scavenging food is cannibalism, do you think cannibalism in TWD makes sense?
I mean, at least in TWD you can make some attempt to grow some crops or breed animals. If you have the resources to capture and keep people like they did in The Road, you probably don't need to resort to cannibalism. Were the St. Johns just crazy, or do you think it was a last resort?
No.13218
>>13216>>13215What the hell. So the post I made second gets posted first? Good job, 8chan.
Also everything went nuts and somehow I ended up on /pol/.
>>13217Probably a little crazy. They had plenty of other food, killing people just flat out wasn't necessary.
No.13219
>>13215>>13216>>13217Clem would probably object, but I'd ask her first how she feels about it. Of course asking her might make her really fuckin' suspicious of me. I'd only do it if there was literally no other option, and I'd lie to Clem about it being human meat if she doesn't like the idea.
No.13220
>>13216Well, the circumstances surrounding eating untainted human meat are pretty specific. You'd basically have to be
trying to eat someone in the first place in order to get the opportunity to eat human meat.
But anyways, I don't think I would feed Clem human meat. If we were truly starving, there's always other alternatives, like foraging plants. You'd be surprised how much stuff is edible in a typical American forest. Also, I would have had plenty of time to try and fish, hunt, or trap an animal. Tough call, though.
No.13221
Now that we have this discussion going I have a question of my own. Would you tell Clem to kill you, then chop you up and cook you as quickly as possible if there was no other way to feed her?
No.13222
>>13221No. I'm not sacrificing myself so one person can eat for a couple of days.
No.13223
>>13221Dude, no. I would not subject her to that.
I'd like to think Clem would like being under my care. Forcing her to kill and eat me would be asking her to throw away what's left of her humanity.

>>13280I suppose I could use this opportunity to bring back the discussion we were having the other day, about 400 Days characters playing a bigger role in season 2. With regards to Shel/Becca dying in the shootout, I think it could work like a choice. Two people are shooting at Shel and Becca, you can only kill one of them. If you save Becca, Shel gets fatally shot, but lives long enough for Becca to say goodbye to her after the shootout. If you save Shel, Becca gets shot in the head leaving Shel no time to say goodbye after the shootout, and she's an emotional wreck for the rest of the episode. Making no choice results in both of them dying, but of course Clem won't get berated for it, because she never suffers any consequences making bad choices in season 2.

Even then, the line was a bit blurry. S1 actually pulled this type of choice more often than S2 did. S2 was more about your decisions deciding
when someone dies, not who.
No.13292
>>13291>S2 was more about your decisions deciding when someone dies, not who.Exactly. I think the choices to save Sarah and Nick would've been harder to make if it meant someone else had to die to save them. For example, the only way to save Sarah is for Luke to stay behind and get eaten. And then later when the Russians ambush you, she survives or dies in the gunfight depending on whether or not you taught her how to shoot a gun.

No.13379
>>13378I'm always here anon. How many times do I have to say that? Anyway, I actually do have something to talk about. After watching TWD with you guys last night, I noticed something. When the guys were talking about what to tell Daryl about his brother, it reminded me of how people talk to Lee/Clementine about what decision to make in the game. The difference is that in the show, they discuss it as a group, whereas in the game everybody looks to Clementine/Lee on what to do, and in Clementine's case it's ridiculous because she's a little girl. This is another reason why I think the multiple protags thing could work in TWD S3, people will be looking at more than just one person to make the big decisions for them.
No.13380
>>13379Telltale is caught between giving control to the player but with a character who shouldn't make all the decisions, or taking control away from the player but having decisions made in a more realistic way. Obviously they opted for the former route.

>>13379I think Clem as a protag should've worked, they just didn't handle it well. There were too many characters introduced too soon and not enough time with clem trying to survive alone. As well as the ridiculous expectations everyone in the group had on a little girl.
No.13382
>>13380Maybe they could work out a system where the player still controls what happens, but instead of the characters outright listening the Clem, she just influences what they do.
>>13381>Clem as a protag should've worked, they just didn't handle it wellMy thoughts exactly. If they had kept Clem's character from episode 1, season 2 could've been more realistic and believable.
