So whatever happened to this scene? Judging from the looks of it, it would seem that TftB already went through rewrites even before the first episode was released. Although since the first episode was good, I guess it worked out in the game's favor rather than to it's detriment.

I didn't really start following TftB until after its release. How early was this image published?
I can't really think of a good context for that scene, either. There isn't much Fiona and Felix could possibly disagree on besides the money, but that's a huge betrayal that I doubt would lead to a discussion like this.

I have a feeling TTG likes to experiment with a bazillion possible scenes during development, and for some reason thinks its appropriate to animate (and voice?) them all. Then they cut out the ones that don't work well.

That would probably explain the poor animation sometimes; they probably don't bother refining the scenes they keep beyond their initial draft.

 No.14995

>>14994
Hell yeah, I want to see how much better what they originally had in mind was compared to what we actually got. That would actually be perfect as DLC for TWAU and TWD S2.

You're probably right about that last bit.

Also, forgive me for taking so long to reply, I'm at a friend's house playing vidya and talking to him.

 No.14996

>>14995
Not to mention, you could probably mod the scenes back in to the story. I mean, you (or someone) modded the [Shoot Mike] thing back in, right? So you could probably do the same with certain deleted scenes. It would probably take a lot more work, though.

That got me thinking, I wonder what would happen if they released their "TellTale Tool" to the public.

And by all means, don't let me interrupt. The more time you wait between posts, the more I get done in SFM, so this may be for your benefit!

I'd love for the Telltale Tool to be commercially available. I think a reason why they haven't released it is because they might be worried that someone might make a "Telltale style" game that's actually better than what they make.

All they gotta do is charge licensing for large releases, like what Unreal and Crytek do. It would be pretty funny if a bunch of fans could outdo TT though. Perhaps that would motivate them to actually improve their own skills.

It would be interesting if TT games got Steam Workshop support and they made it easier to change the story around or whatever. I know voice acting would be a problem, but I think it would be neat what people could do given the resources.

Speaking of which, why does TWD S1 have Steam trading cards, but not any of the other TT games?

Man, TTG's release schedule is stifling us.

I can only hope we'll get fresh blood with the release of new episodes/games, but I'm not so sure about that, either. There's only 8 posts about GoT EP2 in the GoT thread, and that's a pretty big-name series I figured people would want to talk about. Not to mention we've exhausted topics about TWD and S3 still hasn't even been officially announced.

Not gonna lie, it's feeling pretty hopeless right now.

>Has /ttgg/ lost it's sense of fun?
I dunno, maybe. I just think the biggest issue is that we all know each other too much. Heck, I checked the last thread, and I made 90 of the 303 posts there, and I assume you have a similar post count. I know your opinions on just about anything, and anything you or I say or do has become pretty standard fare. The few anons besides us that come on here usually post one or two times and leave, leaving very little room for discussion with them. We've all sort of become homogenized, and I can't think of any way to fix this besides finding new members, but that's extremely difficult given how specific this board's topic is, the propensity for people to be scared off by our views on Clem or the lewdanons she attracts, and TTG's sparse release schedule.

It's weird, this little existential crisis is affecting me a lot more than I thought it would. I genuinely feel pretty bad.

I'm clinging on to the hope that S3 will revive this place. Until then, I suppose I'll revise my posting habits. It's pretty clear that I shouldn't expect discussion every minute of the day during these tough times. I'll keep the thread open as usual, and if there's actual discussion (or even funposting) I'll participate in it. But I don't want this place to become a circlejerk between us few anons where we turn it into our personal blog.

Yet Telltale decided it would be in character for Clem to shoot Kenny. The fact that Clementine can execute a man that she's known for a long time cares about her, yet can't murder anyone that she's known only for days that have betrayed her is fucking bullshit, and the thing that I hate about season 2 the most. Yeah, I know Clem doesn't execute/murder people, but if they're gonna have Clementine behave out of character anyway, they might as well go all the way with it.

His name is Mike and he was arguably one of the nicest people in the group towards Clem. Clem had never previously shot a person, and Mike was clearly trying to defuse the situation. Maybe I'm wrong about not having the option to shoot him, but it's just not something I think Clem would do.

I hate how gunshots are always lethal except to characters with plot armor. Mike and Kenny both die moments after you choose to shoot them, why can't Clem try to incapacitate them instead? It would make slightly more sense to try and incapacitate Kenny when he's stabbing Jane, instead of it being a kill shot. I remember a couple of anons were upset about that, and didn't mean to kill him.

If Clem witnessed Lee killing bad guys like the cannibals and the crazy station wagon owner, then I could see her shooting Mike. Only a rumor that it was taken out because of the Ferguson incident, No official word on it though.

>I could see Clem doing it depending on how you've been playing her and the events of season 1.

This is an interesting idea. I think it'd be interesting to have exclusive choices depending on what Clem did in season 2. For example, if she murdered Kenny, she can also murder other determinant characters herself, rather than leaving them for dead or having someone else kill them.

But that would require making your S1 choices matter, and we can't have that.
I wouldn't group Mike in with the St. Johns or the Stranger, though. It's pretty clear to me that he just wanted to get away from Kenny. Perhaps he just didn't realize what taking the supplies implied for Clem, Kenny, Jane, and AJ.

That doesn't make any sense to me. The Ferguson shooting was about a white cop shooting a black man. Both Clem and Mike are black. In fact, if anything should've been removed from the game for that incident, it should have been Arvo, a white guy, shooting Clem.

Bigger groups would probably be better for a more permanent installment, since two or three people could form a quick scouting party if necessary without weakening the main group too much.

I would probably choose the small, mobile group option early in the ZA, and then get a larger group if I ever found a really good place to stay.

There are tons of really great places for this in big cities and even small towns. Most US public schools are built like fortresses, and most high schools come equipped with several cooking facilities/food storage areas, exercise areas/equipment and most even come with mechanic shops. With that in mind I'd want a group of no less than 12 and my main goal would be to capture a school.
With that as a secure base, you could launch scouting missions on nearby homes or shops for supplies.
My end game would be to get enough people together to form a community, like Wellington.

 No.15167

Interesting. I'd avoid cities as much as I could since I think they're too risky. My end game would be finding some sort of ranch or farm with lots of open space to see incoming threats. You could see any herds before they "saw" you, and consider evacuating into the surrounding countryside until the herd passed. Human threats could be dealt with easily, and the land would provide plenty of space to grow crops and reduce your dependence on scavenging. Plus, being in the countryside reduces the probability of having bad "neighbors".

I'm not denying you have a good plan, I just feel that a high school or other central location like that is very likely to be occupied already and/or have lots of walkers or less-than-savory characters in the vicinity. However, if your plan is to build a big community like Wellington, that becomes less of a concern, and the proximity to a town or city is likely to help in that regard.

Interesting how my strategy is basically the complete opposite of yours, though.

But in all seriousness, I guess that's what's been my problem: no, I'm not thirsty. My body wasn't telling me that I need to hydrate, yet I needed fluids. It's weird, but I've been that way my whole life.

I really only drink about 24oz. of soda a day. Nothing in between. I'm just not thirsty.
So I'll be working water into my schedule from now on.

Enough personal shit. How about some discussion?

We all know how disappointing the "return" of the 400 Days characters was, so in keeping with that trend of underwhelming character comebacks, I speculate the following scenario if you happened to be in Wellington:

>Clem becomes popular among the Wellington crew

>she happens to be hanging out with a guard one day when:
>Bonnie/Mike and Arvo show up at the main gate
>they plead their case and want to come in
>they recognize Clem and try to avoid the topic of what happened during their last encounter
>the guard asks Clem if they can be trusted
>the player is given a choice

[A] Forgive and allow them to join Wellington.
[B] Deny their entry, but give them a few supplies.
[C] Tell them to get lost.
[D] Remain silent and allow the guard to make the decision.

What option would you pick, /ttgg/? Or would you hope for different choices?

I'm really curious how you're defining "white". Clem's dad is black and while her mom is light, she has some obvious "african" features (hair, nose) that she's passed on to her daughter. Then there's her almond-shaped eyes, especially in S1.

Clearly, we need to perform a double-blind test and ask people to guess Clem's ethnicity.

In terms of skin color, Clem certainly looks a lot more white than black. I'm not a really good judge of other features, so that doesn't leave much else to go on. If I didn't know any better, I'd also think Clem's parents were either mixed themselves or black/white.

 No.15271

>>15269
>I mean just skin color, I knew she was always half black from her dad but I thought her mom was white
Her mom is definitely black, as in primarily "African". Just darken her skin a bit and it becomes obvious. Just reminding that when people say "white" they typically mean European-descended. You wouldn't call an actual light-skin black person white. There's more to race than skin color, although it definitely complicates it to a degree.

I'm pretty tired. It's been nice talking /ttgg/, sorry I left you high and dry for a while back there.

Before I go, I suppose I'll answer the thread question.
>Would you ask Clementine for advice? What would you ask her?
I'd ask Clem for advice whenever I needed a second opinion. She'd probably be brutally honest about things, and I can really appreciate that. If this was a ZA situation, she'd certainly be just as qualified as anyone else to answer questions about survival tactics or what have you.
I sort of already ask "her" for advice. I just think about what Clem would say/do when I'm conflicted or stressed.
We need "WWCD" wristbands.

>>15271

Well, I don't really know how to put this together without sounding a bit racist, but fuck it.

The idea just popped into my head that making her look as white as she did may have been a design choice. Just due to the fact that they wanted players to feel like they had to protect Clementine. I'm not saying people wouldn't care about her if she was blacker in S1. Though when she is so white I tend to think she is a lot weaker and fragile. If she was black however, I would think she could handle herself a bit more and be a bit tougher. Which would also explain why she is darker in S2, because instead of being somebody they want the players to look after. They want players to think she is stronger and has been through a lot.

I'm pretty sure I'm just being extremely racist but I thought it was a interesting idea.

Sounds more like you saying it's Telltale that's being racist. I wouldn't call it an "interesting" idea, but the whole "But Not Too Black" trope has been a thing in western media for a long time. It's hard to say that was TT's intention when designing Clem.

Well, I wouldn't really consider it that racist on their part, at least from my viewpoint. They would just be trying to get the most emotions out of people as possible, and if that is the way to do it then so be it.

When I played S1E1, I honestly thought Clem was a little Asian girl. I then saw the family photo and was like, "Oh, she's a light-skinned black girl. Okay." and I never second guessed it. She's always been African-American to me.
I'll admit, though, that Clem looks a teeny bit like a little Latina in S2.

I can totally see why people would mistake Clem for being Asian, but I'll never understand how others could think she's white. She doesn't look European, especially not with that hair and those eyes.

I've lurked, though not having any Clem pics is more me just not downloading anything from the internet. Afraid of internet cooties.

Anyway, does anybody have that Minecraft Story Mode Trailer? I can't find it anywhere and I'm planning on showing it to my friend in about 30 minutes.
