>>18279To be honest, if they don't go the DLC route, I'd be fine with them just doing a timeskip and towards a single point in time and use dialogue to fill in the gaps. I can't imagine trying to take in depth into account all the various endings in the first episode of S3 would be anything other than a total mess expect in a short intro.

>>18287>>18288Do you actually think it'll be Clem? What other character do you think they would put on the show besides her? Remember the show is different universe form the comics and the game so it could potentially be anybody.
No.18291
>>18290If they put Clem in, TellTale can't continue to make money by putting her in games, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. What characters disappeared and are unknown? Molly, Mike, and Arvo are strong contenders. I don't know how the legal crap with Lilly went, so she could still be a possibility. Maybe even the 400 Days characters who didn't end up at Howes like Nate and Eddie.
It's too bad we will never have Doug on the show, but if they put in some game characters I might go back to watching the show.
No.18292
>>18290Who else can it be? The only person who's guaranteed alive by the end of season 2 besides Clem is AJ. Sure there are other characters that have unknown fates, but nobody gives a shit about them as much as they do Clem.
Also, the events that take place in the game are far away from Washington, which is where the show crew is now. They'll need a hell of an explanation as to how they got there, regardless of who it is.
No.18293
>>18290>is different universe form the comicsIs it? I've never been clear on this. For example, Hershel's farm
looks a bit different, but it's completely plausible that Lee, Clem, Kenny, etc. were there before Rick's group in the show. Shawn was already dead when they got there.
I don't think it'll be Clem, Kenny, or Jane. Even though Clem/Jane go back to Howe's, there's no reason for them to leave for Virginia where the TV show is right now, and Clem/Kenny obviously have Wellington. Plus, that would throw a huge wrench into TTG's plans for S3.
If they do put TT characters in the show, they're likely to be well-known S2 characters since it's the most popular and recent TWD game. My money's on Mike/Bonnie/Arvo. I hope they show up in the show and get rekt by Carol.

No.18306
>>18300>If the show and the game shared the same universe, would there be any major plot holes?Yes, because how could the game logically share the same universe with the comics and the show? The problem has less to do with plotholes than risking turning TWDG into it's own strange universe and I don't think Kirkman would allow that. Chances are what's gonna happen is that the show will have it's own version of the events of TWDG so as not to risk breaking it's own canon or the game's/comic's.
No.18307
>>18306>sameanonI should also note that game has that seemingly arbitrary timeline constraint on it because Kirkman doesn't want it to break canon with the comics, no matter how little the events of the game have to do with them.
No.18308
>>18306>could the game logically share the same universe with the comics and the showNo, what I'm saying is if the game decided to share
only the show's universe. Would anything be affected? Not that I know of.
It would certainly be interesting if TWDG was a "middle ground" between the comic and show universes though.
>>18307I think it's more that Kirkman wants to be able to control any possible major events in TWD universe, and wants the game/show to follow his lead instead of possibly the other way around. For example, it turns out it was the Russians all along and they invade the US and clean house. Yes I know that's stupid, but it's an example of something that would clearly have to influence the events in the games and show.
No.18309
>>18308>it turns out it was the Russians all along and they invade the US and clean houseWait, is this really something that happened in the comics recently?
No.18310
>>18309No, it was a stupid example I gave of something Kirkman might decide to do which would obviously have to influence the game and show universes. I just worded it poorly.
The point is that if the game's timeline was ahead of the comics, Kirkman wouldn't be able to pull something like that, and I think he wants the creative freedom to do so.

So I stuck around a bit and got to ask Pierre some questions about the writing process.
He says they do have an overall story usually thought out, and use the time between episodes to tweak it based on fan feedback.
I asked how heavily this feedback influenced the end of season 2 and he sort of hinted that it did quite a bit, but didn't answer my question very well.
I asked where they usually go for feedback and he said mainly their forums, but also reddit, etc. The writers all tend to do this on their own, there's no "community manager" that tells them.
He thought I might have been someone on the TTG forums that was "giving him a hard time" about S2's writing. I said I wasn't from the forums.
I tried to record all this but it was too noisy and conspicuous.

So, what would your ideal walking dead DLC scenarios be?
For me, I rather like the idea of playing as Christa through a long and harrowing search for Clementine/journey to Wellington.
She'd have to deal with Roman and his crew, meet Howe's/400 days survivors and be forced to team up with them for a while, she'd come across Mike, Arvo and Bonnie going south, and maybe even Nate, though that would be pushing it. With time skips and such being broken up by relevant flashbacks of her time with Clementine, both pre and post Omid getting culturally enriched.

Most we can hope for is an Episode or two at the most with in-depth interaction with Kenny/Jane (not just a line or two like with Nick) depending on who we chose. But make no mistake, both of them are guaranteed dead unless Telltale radically changes its formula.

>Actually, an anon in the Lost World stream alluded to a similar idea, saying that the humor in that movie really sapped from the elements that made the first movie good. That would be me. That's probably not a fair comparison because TftB is a comedy adventure at it's heart, similar to the Sam and Max games. The problem with TLW wasn't that it had humorous parts (nearly every 'serious' movie uses humor in certain ways and degrees to keep itself from being too broody and inhumane), it's that the humor had this sitcom-y quality to it that sapped any tension the scene was building, e.g. no one seeming afraid because they were always making some inappropriate Seinfeldian quip or joke even when they're in immediate danger, the visual gags, etc.
>I'd like to remind y'all that I'm streaming TWD tonight as usual at 11EST, 1 hour after it airs.Cool, I'll be there. What movie are you going to be streaming next eventually? JP3 or something else?

Lee's past is something I really wanted to explore more, and I was wondering why it didn't come up more often. I guess it makes sense since Carley (and Larry, I guess) are the only ones that know about Lee's past.
Guess I'll save Carley next time I play S1.
>>18441>That's probably not a fair comparisonIt definitely isn't, but my point was to show that certain kinds of humor have the potential to detract from a story or scene. TftB seems to have a good balance between humor and actual story themes so far, at least.
>What movie are you going to be streaming next eventually?JP3 probably, maybe even tonight if y'all want. As I said, I'm a bit more limited in my options next week cause I'm visiting family for spring break and can't stream from there. As I said, Carol has been a survivor far longer than anybody. I think she'd be able to read another abuse victim, specially if they're kids. The signs are all there, now she just needs to take action.
No.18487
>>18484Carol's journey to become what she is right now is remarkable, really. She went from someone who was afraid of her own shadow to a badass who'll do anything to protect her friends. And it cost her everything she held dear. It was painful and full of tragedies, but she made it. And she's the only female survivor from the original atlanta group
Oh god how much I love that woman.

Carol was telling him that sometimes you need a gun to defend yourself, then he asks for one.
>>18489But we see him mom often and she always seems happy and in good spirits. She hasn't hinted once that there's anything wrong between her and her husband.
And don't try to tell me that she's doing a really good job of hiding it, because if there's one thing this show doesn't do it's subtlety.

Sorry to just show up and leave, but I better get to sleep pronto.

No.18515
>>18514This sums it up pretty well, although I'd also add the incredible chore it was to keep a thread alive on /vg/. 8chan /ttgg/ went through periods of long inactivity too, but it never had too deal with the threat of being locked, deleted, and archived every 2-8 hours.

>>18512As time went on, NFA's insufferable faggotry got worse and worse, he went from just deleting Clemposts to deleting anything he didn't like, the thread consisted of mainly arguments and drama, Clem porn started getting posted in every thread, likely to spite NFA. I imagine all of these things put together drove everyone who was keeping the thread alive away, and nobody wanted to bump it anymore. It kept dying sooner and sooner before the bump limit until it died after only 5 replies, and not even Joey the tripfag bothered to make a new thread. Good riddance I say. It deserved to die a long time ago and I'm glad it's finally gone.
Anyway, time for a new thread. Before I post it though, answer me this: Who should I use for the next OP pic? Rhys, or Fiona?
