But she's not real, so we can have fun.
No.20284
Assuming that she was born in 1995 like it's often theorized, Clementine would be 20 years old today. What kind of person do you think a modern day 20 year old Clem would be? What kind of interests and tastes do you think she'd have?
No.20285
>>20284Maybe it's just her lack of personality in season 2, but I feel like she would be just a regular ordinary person.
No.20286
>>20285You don't think she'd have any unique quirks, traits, or interests? Would she be outgoing, going to large gatherings like concerts, parties, or conventions with friends or would she prefer staying home or at her dorm? Would she be charismatic and sociable or would she be more reserved or even shy? Would she have any hobbies? Would she prefer playing video games or watching movies?
No.20287
>>20286I think she'd be interested in drawing
and might even have a DeviantArt account, would be outgoing but reserved, and I think she'd prefer movies over games.
No.20288
>>20284It's tough to judge exactly how she would turn out. Clementine doesn't really state many of her interests or tastes in S2, so we're limited to what we learn in S1. The most we know about her is that she likes drawing, history class, and reading. Journalism might be a pretty good fit for that, I suppose. It's creative like drawing, but founded in reality and factual information, like history.
>>20286Like I said, it's tough to be specific. She would probably be quite the bookworm though, judging by how she said she likes school and reading books. So I guess if I had to go on that, I'd say she might be a bit more quiet and reserved than other girls her age.
I don't think she would really have much interest in video games, but she might enjoy movies
and maybe TellTale games.
You know, I'm pretty sure I remember from somewhere that Clem doesn't like soccer that much. I'm not 100% sure where she says it, but it's probably when she's talking to Katjaa where she also mentions her pet hamster.
I have to get up a little bit earlier than usual tomorrow, so I'm gonna take a shower and head to bed. I'll leave you with this, although it's really far from being done. All I really did was import the S1 hair and positioned it roughly.
Good night /ttgg/.

Glenn's plot armor in the season finale was ridiculous. They didn't even try to explain how he escaped all those zombies who were right on top of him.
No.20295
>>20294I know, when I saw him come back I thought "how is he still alive?" I guess the way Rick kills the walker on top of him is supposed to elude to how Glenn kill his zombies. No.20296
>>20295That's a good thought, but it's completely impossible. Glenn was holding two zombies by the neck with both hands, both were on top of him and a third zombie was close and getting closer before they cut away.
Setting up a cliffhanger like that then completely ignoring it once the commercials are over is amateur as hell.

>no option to abandon baby in S2
what the fuck? What rational person would take upon the responsibility of caring for a baby that isn't even theirs? You don't even have that implicit maternal or paternal connection. It's just somebody else's baby.
You know what he is? A hole that you will throw resources into, valuable resources like time energy and food, that will give nothing in return for years. Obviously the value of the life of a baby is important, but these are different times. Times where adult humans are struggling to survive on a daily basis. The best option would have been to leave the baby in the woods and let the elements claim it.
Oh look Clem and Kenny or Jane want to join a new group. The new group sees they have a baby. Babies are huge detriments and offer nothing to the group. Fuck off we don't want you to join. This is exactly why Omid and Christa kept it secret when they claimed a spot in Lee's group, because who the fuck wants a pregnant woman to join their group? Not fucking me.
Jane has the right idea. Kill the baby, Kenny is a fucking retard for wanting to take it along with him and raise it. It's not your responsibility, and is a detriment in the long run. That baby is going to be the source of A TON of forced drama in S3. Just you fucking wait. They're going to put a choice in where you can leave the baby or not, and they've gotta get the proportion of people who abandon him vs not abandon him to be about an even split, so they will make you hate the motherfucker.
No.20311

No.20312
>>20311I'm thinking about it like a rational survivor. You can't depend on absolute asspulls like finding some magical wonderland that is willing to accept you and a baby or is willing to throw you two full bags of supplies. You must prepare for the worst case scenario.

No.20315
>>20313>Even the most rational survivor wouldn't dump a babyThat's some ole bullshit because I definitely would if the resources and conditions necessary to sustain an infant's life are in short supply or nonexistent. I'm not just going to just hang onto a baby because hurr morals. Now there are always different contexts to consider, like what if it's my baby? Well then I have a stronger incentive to rough it out for it. But somebody else's baby who I knew for a fuckin week at best? Well, pic related.

No.20317
>>20316This is another thing that would be important to consider if humans were in danger of going extinct, but as we've seen, this clearly isn't the case. Settlements are popping up here and there. And even IF humans were as dangerously close to extinction as you seem to imply, it's vastly wiser to focus on survival first, establishing a stable, permanent shelter or settlement, and then focus on other matters such as reproduction. But reproduction while you're out humping it in the wild, never staying in one place for more than a few days or weeks, busting your ass to survive on a daily basis? You'd have to be fucking retarded.

>>20316>But reproduction while you're out humping it in the wild, never staying in one place for more than a few days or weeks, busting your ass to survive on a daily basis? That's exactly what are ancestors have been doing for hundreds of thousands of years. The idea that people should only reproduce in safe, civilized conditions where the child's life is guaranteed is a pretty new one relatively speaking. For most of our species' existence humans have had to bear and raise children in the wild without the protection of a civilized society. No, not every child will survive. Yes, raising a child in such a hostile environment is dangerous, but that's the risk you take in order to continue the species. That's why humans have built-in desire to protect the lives of their loved ones even if it means losing their own lives, so that when a major catastrophe strikes, as they often have before, our species won't become a part of the fossil record.
No.20326
>>20325>That's exactly what are ancestors have been doing for hundreds of thousands of years. Couple things.
1. Clem and her group clearly lack the skills of the "ancestors" as evidenced by their failures in hunting, and over-reliance on scavanged goods to sustain them.
2. Infant mortality was a completely natural occurrence for the so called ancestors, and infanticide was also practiced. You just had more kids to replenish lost ones. Only recently has such emphasis and value been placed on the life of a single child. The "ancestors" would have thought, yeah man if you're having trouble surviving abandon the fuck out of that baby. What, it's not even yours? Even less reason to care for it. Fuck em.

Hello /ttgg/! I had a lucid dream last night!
I typed up my dream log verbatim (except for my actual name) during class. Link below. It would take up too much space if I posted it here.
http://0bin.net/paste/RhRIox0AJR-DB6rC#KC5VnsRktaUwNgpa86iUwtmP8v4i-tAihnGvMytWqlYThe additional notes on the bottom are little things I remembered as the day passed. Since your memory of a dream fades rather quickly, I write my dream journal entries as fast as possible and try to cover everything major. It seems this one stuck with me for quite a while though, so I was able to remember even very small details hours later.
Her comments about Clewd were very helpful at putting my mind at ease. I had completely forgotten about the subject by the time we were skiing together. I'm still a bit apprehensive about it, but hearing it "from the horse's mouth" so to speak helps me immensely.
This is all in my head and I understand if somebody might find it strange, but I know at least one anon was interested in what I dream about. I've been in a very good mood the entire day thanks to this experience, so I think overall this is a good thing.
>>20290Ah yes, that's it.
>>20295>the way Rick kills the walker on top of himHow did that even happen? Did he just squeeze its neck until its head popped like a grape or something? I thought that whole thing was stupid. If Rick, a grown man, struggles like that with one walker, I don't see how a wounded Glenn could deal with 3+ walkers on top of him.
>>20292I made a couple of transparent images, but not that one.
>>20306Class.
>Abandoning a babyI see the logic behind this argument, but I personally wouldn't do it. I do understand that there are more pragmatic people out there like the anon that proposed it. I'll just chalk it up to differences in opinion.

>>20335>I wish I could have a nice dream of her like that. You can! You just need to work at it. I've been at it for 2 or 3 months now, but it's totally worth it. Plus, improving your dream recall is pretty cool. You wake up remembering whatever sorts of wacko stuff you did while asleep.
No.20337
>>20336How did you do it? Did you keep a dream journal?
No.20338
No.20339
>>20337Yeah. I made it a habit to wake up and write down my dreams in a journal I keep under my glasses. I wake up, put on my glasses, and try to summarize my dreams as quickly as possible, preferably within a couple of minutes of waking up.
For the lucid part, you'll notice I mentioned checking my watch triggered lucidity. This is because I consciously associate checking my watch during the daytime with a "dream check". Every time I check what time it is, I also check if I'm in a dream. When I'm awake, it's pretty obvious that I'm not inside a dream, but it's the habit that's important. That way if I ever happen to check my watch inside a dream, I'll perform the dream check by habit and realize I'm dreaming.
Pretty cool stuff. It's weird how our brains work like that.
>>20338>I understand if somebody might find it strange No.20340
>>20334>>20339Are you, then, attempting to confirm to us the existence of lucid dreaming?
No.20341
>>20340No, since I'm pretty sure the existence of lucid dreaming is not really in doubt.
It is fairly difficult to do and requires a significant time investment, though. And the first couple of times I just plain woke up instead of going lucid, which is frustrating. But it's definitely possible.

>>20342The phenomenon is pretty well-documented. I've even seen articles where someone strapped EEG electrodes to their head and attempted to "communicate" from inside of a dream by using a special code similar to morse. It's a really cool foray into your own thought processes and subconscious. I mean, everything in my dream clearly has to originate somewhere in my head, but it was remarkable how many things I didn't have to consciously think about. From "my" perspective, Clem seemed to act completely independently (except for that part where she knew what I was thinking, which was pretty weird). I didn't have to puppet her or anything like that. That's incredibly cool in my opinion. You can understand why I would be so excited about it.

When we discussed kids a while back (at the time, we weren't dating, just talking hypotheticals), she mentioned she'd rather have a son, while I'd prefer a daughter. So if and when we do (again, hypothetically) have a child, I will propose that if it's a son, she gets to name him, and if it's a girl, I get to name her.

From the trailer, it looks like we might be able to see the first moments of the outbreak and witness peoples reactions to this sudden change, rather than how it was with Rick, when he woke up several weeks into it.

Damnit, now I really want Korean shop owners in TWD. I mean look at these guys. They mean business.

>"April Fool's prank goes wrong after internet cult worshiping fictional girl commits mass suicide">>20592>the first moments of the outbreakThis is something that
very few movies, shows, etc. have done well. I'll mention again here that I'd really like to see more focus on exactly how the military was able to get overwhelmed so easily. I want to see them panic as their supply lines get cut off, as their brothers in arms are claimed by the dead. It would write itself.

Either that or someone sets fire to Telltale's office building.

>>20592>I guess you're right, but can't the same be said about all zombie media?I never really got deep into the zombie genre for this reason actually. I got into the TWDG(S1) for the same reason you got into the show. The only other zombie story I really enjoy is World War Z (the book) and that's because it also did something unique with the genre. I guess the TWD formula is getting stale to me; the only thing keeping my interest in the games at this point is Clementine and her story. Once that's done I'll probably drop the franchise.
>>20590> Perhaps we'll see that government task force that TTG invented. The what now?
>>20595>Federal How have I never noticed this? They don't seem terribly significant though. It just looks like a fake FEMA knock-off.

>>20597Yes, that is /k/ode for urbans. Actually, it's more of a /pol/ term.
>>20598>They don't seem terribly significant though.According to the wiki, they're actually responsible for a lot of the disaster "relief" effort. They're the ones announcing the danger levels over the radio in Glenn's car, and they have signs posted all over Savannah. They also posted the evacuation notices on the corkboard in 400 days.

I agree 100%
I guess I'm just too hopeful that the new TV series will offer something new, but I'm sure I'll be let down.

>>20599I meant they're not a significant to the overall story or world, at least anymore than other government agencies. They could've just been called FEMA and wouldn't be at all different.
>>20600Sorry, I didn't mean to get your hopes down. For what it's worth, I'd also like this show to try something new to breathe new life into the franchise. TWDGS1 was a spin off in a way and it realized the Walking Dead universe's potential better than anything else in the franchise.

>>20601Man, it feels so weird to see people use my name in here.
But yeah, kinda the same here. If it weren't for Clem, I probably wouldn't have played S2. I only watch the TV series because I have a sick fascination at how bad it can be at times.
>>20602>They could've just been called FEMA and wouldn't be at all different.Maybe TTG thought they might get in trouble if they used an actual government agency? This is actually something I'd like to know.
>it realized the Walking Dead universe's potential better than anything else in the franchise.Agreed. TWDGS1 is
the best TWD media in my opinion. It has its faults, but approaches almost every single theme worth exploring under the sun, and succeeds.
No.20604
>>20603Yeah, no matter what happens with the TWDG series at this point, whether it bombs, gets a shit ending, or gets bled dry by Telltale refusing to let it end, at least we'll always have S1 as this great, self-contained story with great characters.

>>20593>I'll mention again here that I'd really like to see more focus on exactly how the military was able to get overwhelmed so easily. This has always been one of the more unbelievable common aspects of the zombie genre to me. Not the military getting overwhelmed and defeated, but getting utterly annihilated and quickly so. If a few civilians can band together and survive for years why wouldn't a vestige of a well-trained, well-equipped military survive in some form like an enclave?
The only zombie stories I can think that don't immediately wipe out the armed forces as a significant entity are The Last of Us and World War Z. Then again I don't consume a lot of zombie media so I don't know how many exceptions there are.
