Good night, anons. I'll talk about your suggestion with you tomorrow when it's the right time.

 No.23481

>How often are you a dick to people in Telltale games?

Depends on the game, but generally not very often. I try to be nice to people, but that doesn't mean I'll be a pushover or tolerate everyone's shit either.

When Larry antagonized Lee, I was a dick to him, when Ben started to get snippy and abrasive in episode 4, I had no trouble telling him that he is a useless fuck who I don't want around anymore. Also, fuck the Whitehills. Bigby gave the least fucks as far as the protagonists go, while Clementine was probably the nicest.

>Do you do entire dick playthroughs?

I did for TWD, it was funny for the most part, but executing Kenny after he killed Jane felt a bit too fucked up for me.

 No.23482

I've gotta go for a bit, so I'll see you guys in a few hours.

That's your favourite line? Got any others you like?

 No.23485

>>23484

Well, in Episode 2 Kenny's "urban" line had me laughing quite a bit. That's before I started hating that piece of shit though.

Mark's name alone I liked, I guess? Gave me an excuse to say "Oh hi Mark" a few times.

Sadly I don't think I even have a favorite line in Season 2. It was all pretty… uh… lackluster, to say the least.

 No.23486

File: 1430422467261.png (559.95 KB, 712x480, 89:60, The Room.mkv_snapshot_00.4….png)

Good morning /ttgg/.

>How often are you a dick to people in Telltale games?

Only when the situation warrants it. Even in TWAU I'm relatively nice and try not to smash people's shit up. I didn't smash any of Georgie's stuff. Doesn't stop me from picking a really rude dialogue choice once in a while, though.

>Do you do entire dick playthroughs?

No, not really. I guess it would be interesting to do a "themed" playthrough sometime, since I haven't tried one.

>>23484

It's not really a line, but Doug's face when everyone sees he ate all of the biscuits from the St. Johns farm makes me chuckle every time.

My favorite line in season 2 is "I know. I've done this before, remember? In a shed…"

Luke probably needed to put ice on his sick burn after that scene.

>>23485

Yes, "urban" gets an honourable mention.

>Oh hi Mark

Oh hi Danny

This is pretty similar to the face recognition stuff I did a few threads back. I bet they even use a cascading classifier for the different ages, too.

 No.23492

>How often are you a dick to people in Telltale games? Do you do entire dick playthroughs?

I couldn't force myself to play Lee as anything but a nice man who only lost his temper on Larry and Ben.

I do however play Rhys as Jack 2.0, only being nice to Vaughn and Yvette.

I also played Bigby as someone who lost his temper quick, 'good cop until pushed to his limits'.

Clem? It was a mix, mostly. Things I would say and do if I were in her situation. It was mostly the friendly or sacastic dialog options.

 No.23493

>How often are you a dick to people in Telltale games? Do you do entire dick playthroughs?

I've only ever been a dick during dick playthroughs, otherwise I play normally.

I had to re-do my dick playthrough as I wasn't being enough of a dick, still feeding Clem at the motor for example.

Yeah, not only is it completely out of character for Clementine to do that, but unless you're a Kenny hater, there's no entertainment to be had out of doing it ether. Usually the mean choices are the most entertaining ones, but there are some things I never do, even when doing an asshole playthrough, because they're just too cruel.

>I wonder how a TWD Paradox strategy game would work. Maybe managing a settlement like Wellington? I guess you can't really do grand strategy with that, though.

I can't really see a grand strategy game either unless Kirkman allowed Paradox to go ahead of the comic's timeline. It'd be neat to see the TWD universe evolve over time.

If you played a settlement like Wellington I could see Paradox taking a hint from their own Victoria series and make the game about building up your agricultural and industrial base, "diplomatically" dealing with other settlements or roaming groups, and expanding your borders. Actually now that I think about it there's already a flash game sort of like this called Rebuild, minus the diplomacy.

There's nothing wrong with that.

I've never actually owned a Paradox GS game. I've played EU4 with a friend and I think I'd enjoy them a lot if I could sink some time into them.

I have a couple of Paradox-published games, though, hence my opinions on their DLC.

A game about a TWD settlement could actually work pretty similarly to Prison Architect. You have to decide how many people to let in, set a rough schedule, manage resources and jobs, and provide perimeter security.

I actually really wanna see this now.

Thinking more about a Paradox TWD game, provinces on the map would contain different usable resources, like Vicky 2, that you'd need to manufacture and trade goods like grain to feed your population, cotton to make clothes, abandoned weapons caches to arm your military defense force, etc. Obviously you'd need to clear these provinces of walkers first, but they might contain survivors or be in the possession of other large settlements. You could try trading with them, build friendly relations up in exchange for favors, maybe even ally with them, or you could take their shit by force.

>>23622

This sounds really neat. I'd definitely play it. I wonder how possible it is to mod Prison Architect into something like that.

>I've never actually owned a Paradox GS game. I've played EU4 with a friend and I think I'd enjoy them a lot if I could sink some time into them.

From what I've heard, the comics are at a point now that's kinda grand strategy territory. Rick and co. have several settlements connected by roads and stuff, with ammo manufacturing capabilities. So yeah, something like that could work.

I didn't even think about the possibility of hiding Jack for so long. It's possible you might be able to hide him completely, since we've seen no mention of Jack in the "flash-forward" scenes with the shotgun guy in the mask.

Wrong. Rhys said something along the lines of "Oh yeah…Jack." while talking to the kidnapper person.

I just hope Jack won't be gone for good, both Telltale and 2K/Gearbox know how popular he is. They'll try to keep him in the story for as long as possible. Which also means Rhys will stay alive as long as Jack is around. The only way they could get rid of Jack is by either killing Rhys or removing Jack out of Rhys' head. Hyperion already knows something is going on in there, I'm guessing the person kidnapping Rhys and Fiona are trying to bring them to Helios.

Or are trying to get them AWAY from Helios I'd like to believe it's Timothy, I just want to see him show up again. Would also explain why the kidnapper is wearing a full body suit and changes their voice.

 No.23691

>>23690

Ah, must've missed that line.

From what I looked up, Timothy is Jack's body double? I've never actually played or looked into the Pre-sequel that much, but I'm surprised to see that you're fighting for Hyperion in it. Timothy doesn't seem to be too thrilled about being Jack, though. So your theory that he's a defector of some sorts definitely holds water.

Why would he want the Gortys project, though?

 No.23692

>>23691

Timothy started to disrespect Jack during Pre-Sequel, mentioning how he would never want to be like him, if you refuse to kill a Dahl soldier like Jack orders you to. He wants to be his own person again.

I don't know much about the Gortys project, I don't even know much about Atlas, I only heard a few things while playing BL2. I can only back up my headcanon by saying that Timothy was there when the Jack AI was created, maybe he got wind of Rhys having the AI in his head and wants to get rid off him for good, he was there when Jack lost his mind and knows of the danger. He should still be under contract by Hyperion to continue playing Jack's body double for the next 20 years. Maybe someone from Hyperion told him about the Jack AI being on Pandora?

But I want to be honest: I just want to see him again, it was interesting to play but also "not" play as Jack.

I think this is key. While shooting herself in front of Duck was weird, Katjaa's suicide was subtly built up so while it came off as a surprise, it didn't seem OOC in retrospect. I'm sure NFA's overzealous moderation was the main reason the general died. Nobody could funpost, or make even the most innocent of Clemposts without being called a pedophile, or getting their posts/getting banned. Sure other reasons for why the general was shit came up over time. But those reasons only came up because of NFA. Without him, this board wouldn't needed to be created in the first place and we could all continue to post happily on halfchan.

>>23664

>If you've never played Borderlands, you won't understand the TFTBL's game

Sometimes I miss some of the people in the communities I used to be a part of, but not enough to want to go back. Dear god I could spend all day bitching about all of Clementine's out of character behavior in season 2. Especially in episode 5. To put it briefly, instead of Clementine being the character she was in season 1, they made her a blank slate for the player to project their personality into, and they gave her several OOC choices because of this. This is especially noticeable in episode 5 which is chock-full to the brim of OOC decisions she can make, and it's why I hate episode 5 more than 3 now.

>I'm sure NFA's overzealous moderation was the main reason the general died.

Nah, most people seemed to leave when S2 was over and /ttgg/ slowly kept shrinking over time. Not saying NFA wasn't a factor but it's damn hard to keep a community going when it survived as long as it did on discussion of new episodes and OC which was becoming increasingly scarce as more people lost interest.

>Without him, this board wouldn't needed to be created in the first place and we could all continue to post happily on halfchan

I'm pretty sure the halfchan thread would have died eventually because of the way archiving works on 4chan and the decrease in posting. The best thing NFA did was inadvertently be responsible for the creation of this board so /ttgg/ could more easily keep going in some form.

>>23702

There's actually a few things I've thought of discussing and debating about but I feel like certain people just derail them into pointless shit-slinging. I also haven't really gone into detail why I didn't enjoy ep 2 of TFtB. Seeing as everyone else thought it was great or even better than ep 1, I didn't really feel like raining on everyone's parade.

>>23703

I didn't have Lee say anything in the scene outside the train at all because I didn't think it was his place to step in that situation. Katjaa convinced Kenny to stay with Lee. After her suicide I had Lee tell Kenny he should do it and then tell him it's going to be alright as he's about to pull the trigger. I had Lee kill Fivel because it didn't make any sense to have Kenny do it at that point.

 No.23706

>Not saying NFA wasn't a factor

That's the thing. The general could've survived on funposting, and OC and "actual discussion" would've cropped up on it's own eventually, but NFA felt the need to dictate what's allowed in the general and that drove people away. Of course people will leave after the season's over and there's nothing left to discuss, but the people who would've stuck around for the funposting and OC were driven away too because of NFA.

>The best thing NFA did was inadvertently be responsible for the creation of this board

As much as I hate that asshole, I have to admit this is true.

I should play that episode again because not only am I overdue for a second playthrough and a quick refresh of the events, I'm still trying to figure out certain details why I didn't enjoy it that much. I will say some of my biggest problems were probably the way certain characters and their relationships were handled (Vasquez, August, Fiona and Sasha) and the bizarre plotting and pacing. Neither of Fiona's and Sasha's development went anywhere this episode and Fiona continues to feel too enigmatic and half-baked as a main character compared to Rhys. Vasquez suddenly changing from Dick Dastardly to "sympathetic" villain felt pointless and certain actions of his don't make sense to me. I have no idea why August's character is still in this story other than to act as a poor Vasquez-equivalent to Fiona despite having very little connection to her other than she scammed him once. I also came out of this episode liking Rhys's character less and I'm still not sure why. I guess this isn't really going into detail but like I said I feel like I need to replay the episode to get a better idea why I didn't like it.

Not what Vasquez said but that he was genuinely trying to connect with Rhys. It felt out of nowhere considering how I thought I understood his character. I couldn't really grasp what the writers were trying to do with him this episode. I'll give that I'm likely not remembering certain details correctly since I only played it when it came out.

Quick question for people owning TFTB on steam: Can you see the achievements for the next episodes or can you just see the achievements for E1 and E2?

Because I just noticed I can see the achievements for Episode 3,4 and 5 on my PS4.

Take a look yourself, I don't really think so, but you can see that something seems to change in the future episodes, the tone of the game seems to get darker. The 0.1% that completed the game is pretty interesting.

Same thing happened in other Telltale games iirc. There can't be so many super casual players who just check every once in a while if the new episode is out, right?

And as you can see, it took me 2 days to beat Episode 2, I didn't want it to end. I also spent 2 hours going through my PS4 recordings to take screenshots without the annoying pause button in the corner, it involved lots of rewinding to get the perfect frame

I just noticed that the PS4 also lists the completion percentages. Interesting that they're higher than Steam for Ep1, but nearly 10% lower for Ep2. I'm one to talk, I haven't beaten TWAU yet

Pic related is all of my TTG recordings.

And I don't even have full recordings of Borderlands, S2 or TWAU.

322 pictures in my ttgg folder, including reaction images, screenshots and just everything from TWDG and TWAU more TWDG of course

185 files in my TFTB folder. 93 of these files are just screenshots from Episode 2. Pic related is why I recorded the gameplay, just so I can avoid these two pop-up windows.

Give it some more weeks, hopefully not months, then we get news and THEN we get the next episode. Just hope they don't rewrite E3 like they rewrote E2. I really wanted to see that Sasha vs August fight or Rhys and Jack riding around in a car, dodging moonshots or Vaughn getting punched in the face.

I remember that. I played on Christmas day the year GTAV came out on PS3 and someone randomly gave me a shitton of money. I bought an expensive apartment, some cars, and a bunch of clothes. That was fun.

I don't know why I wasn't able to get into it though, I loved RDR's mp and it's really not that different.

 No.23756

>>23727

The same thing happened to season 2 while it was being released. Achievements would show up on PSN before the episodes were released. I hope this means that the entire season is already written and they're just taking care animating, voice acting, and everything else that needs to be done, and there won't be any rewrites which will only cause more delays.

>>23729

I tried to avoid the achievements from season 2 because they might contain spoilers, and in hindsight, I could've looked at them and not be spoiled. Still I won't look at the achievements for this game for the same reason.

>>23734

I'm guessing he's talking about episodes that take place in the present, rather than in the story that Rhys and Fiona are telling their captor, and he's saying that it's different depending on a choice you made in a past episode.

>>23742

Forget that. It shows that there are people so casual that they can't even finish a fucking Telltale game.

I have a lot of fun with races and customizing cars.

Heists are also fun provided your team is somewhat competent. Otherwise it's an exercise in futility.

And obviously it's more fun with friends. The reason I got so wasted last night was because we took a shot every time someone got disconnected or we failed a heist. And that happens a lot when one of your friends is stuck on slow DSL and everyone's motor skills are slowly degrading.
