Tumblr but I wouldn't be surprised to see it on TTGF since there is some crossover. I think I've seen some posts on /ttgg/ long before express a similar view .

 No.25931

>>25930

I think I remember some posts about it on old /ttgg/ too now that you mention it.

So here's my idea that I mentioned last thread. How different would season 2 had been if you played as Kenny instead? For one thing, it would actually make sense for everybody to ask him to do everything for them, because he's an adult and not a little girl. To be perfectly honest guys, I think it would've offered a better experience. The season 1 DLC could've showed us how he survived his sacrifice, instead of being completely inconsequential to season 2. And the first two episodes would've allowed the ski lodge group to get some character development before Kenny reunites with Clem. I also think that Kenny looking after Clem could've mimicked the feel of season 1.

 No.25932

>Why do you think Tom is helping Mira?

Because he's a nice guy

>Who do you think is the traitor?

your own mum

I'd have to say Duncan, since he's nice and well mannered. It would be typical and cliche of telltale to make the "least suspectable" person the traitor, so of course that's what they're gonna do.

>What did you do to Gryff?

I haven't played it, but if I did I wouldn't have harmed him. He's the son of a lord, of noble blood. Beating him senseless will not help your cause in the eyes of the Whitehills or other noble houses.

>Do you think Cotter will betray you in the end?

Probably not

>Which of the protagonists do you think will be dead by the end?

It's Game of Thrones, so probably all of them

>How much longer do we have to wait before the next episode of TFTB?

Forever

 No.25933

The problem with the Kenny idea is that a lot of fans didn't like him, and probably wouldn't have played a S2 focused on him.

Maybe playing as Kenny would allow people to mellow him out if they thought he had been too erratic before. Perhaps meeting Sarita could be the excuse for this sudden change in behavior so it wouldn't seem out of character.

TTG would have to be careful not to make it too similar to Season 1, though. Otherwise it might just feel like you were playing the same game again.

>tfw we will never be able to play semi-racist Kenny

>you will never be presented with a dialog option with "urban" in it

 No.25934

The traitor could be whoever you didn't pick as your sentinel.

>>25933

>The problem with the Kenny idea is that a lot of fans didn't like him

Which just gives credence to my idea that making Clem the protagonist was a cash grab move. Instead of taking a risk that could've benefited the season, they took the easy route, and did something that was guaranteed to be successful no matter what, thus allowing them to put no effort into it. Kenny and Lee are too different from one another for it to have been too similar to season 1, but even if it was, I gladly would've taken a rehash over what we did get. Although again, I realize that I am only saying this now because of how season 2 turned out.

 No.25935

>making Clem the protagonist was a cash grab move

>I realize that I am only saying this now because of how season 2 turned out

Making Clem the protagonist of S2 isn't bad in theory. It makes a lot of sense since Clem is the one we spent all of Season 1 protecting and looking after, and Lee died for her. While she could have still had a major presence in S2 had she not been the protagonist, I don't think there would be as much potential for deep character development. Like you said, we didn't get that in S2, but we could have. I don't think we would be having this conversation if they just put some more effort into Clem's characterization.

But yeah, a big part of it was about taking few risks. What are some risks they could have taken with S2, or that they might try with DLC/S3? I think an internal monologue for Clem could work. It would break out of the typical TT style, but I really want to know what's going on in that noggin sometimes.

Blogpost, but I'm building this kickass scale model of an M41 Walker Bulldog tank right now. Makes me wish I could build something together with Clem. Heck, I'd let her go nuts painting the thing. She could paint it purple for all I care, I'd love it just as much.

That sounds cool as hell.

 No.25938

>>25937

I am streamanon and no, I can't stream yet. I've been working on a solution but as of yet I've been unsuccessful. The main problem is that my VPS provider disallows torrents, so I need to find a way around their watchdog process and tunnel my connections elsewhere so the torrent traffic doesn't show up. Or buy a seedbox, but I'm way too cheap for that and it's not as fun.

>That sounds cool as hell.

It is cool as hell, and really relaxing.

This, but I would take it further and say TWDG is Clementine's story, not Kenny's. She's the important link to S1, she's carrying Lee's torch, she's the reason people follow this series. There's no point in switching protagonists and it wouldn't fix the issue of S2's bad writing. I would also say that Kenny became the main character of S2 anyway and the shift in focus reduced Clem to being the observer of his story. What S2 needed (aside from better writing) was more focus on Clem's story and arc, not less.

It does bring up another good question though. Do you think Kenny could make a good protagonist? I'm personally leaning towards no because I feel like he'd have the opposite problem of S2 Clem (as she was written); He's too well-defined, too much his own man, has too much baggage to play him with my gut instinct like I did with Lee. Instead I'd likely just roleplay Kenny and base choices on what I'd think he'd do rather on my own conclusions so I didn't "break" his character.

>risks

What I suggested before, that this "BIG" DLC be made up of mini-episodes for all five endings. The paradox of the multiple endings is the biggest hurdle to TTG continuing Clem's story and if they go this route and manage to nail it than I'll have a lot more faith in S3. I'd also like to see Clem dealing with depression and deep guilt over Lee's death, possibly even suicidal feelings.

>Makes me wish I could build something together with Clem. Heck, I'd let her go nuts painting the thing.

I'd like to see a Clem building a model, drawing, or practicing some other hobby in an interactive segment. It would be cozy and cute.

 No.25940

>>25939

>This, but I would take it further and say TWDG is Clementine's story

I've always thought of it as Clementine's story even in the first season. Lee as a character was always an afterthought, first and foremost he was Clementine's caretaker. Being charged with Clementine's safety really gave his life meaning in my eyes seeing as he was on his way to prison for a murder charge prior to that.

>I'd likely just roleplay Kenny and base choices on what I'd think he'd do rather on my own conclusions so I didn't "break" his character.

You know, this kind of thinking is at odds with what's usually mentioned here, that Clem is too loosely defined. So you have S2 Clem who is too weakly characterized, and Kenny that's "too" strongly characterized, at least to be the PC. Would the ideal player character land somewhere in the middle of those two extremes? I'd say so.

Not really sure where I meant to go with that, just an observation.

I do agree that TWDG is Clementine's story foremost. Lee is just a vehicle for the player to guide her and redeem him.

>if they go this route and manage to nail it

That tweet where they said they "figured out" something in TWD writing room makes me think that they've at least got a good plan. I know it's not much to go on, but I have some faith.

>I'd also like to see Clem dealing with depression

Maybe "like" is the wrong word to use here, but I know what you mean. I think it would be an interesting theme, it would just break my heart to see her like that. But it would be a more effective way of breaking my heart than what we discussed last thread.

>It would be cozy and cute.

Hobbies like that would be a really nice way to kill time. There doesn't even need to be talking, just doing something like that together, painting parts, gluing stuff… just something about it feels so right.

>>25940

I wouldn't go so far to say Lee was an afterthought but in the context of the whole series, yeah, TWDG is Clem's story now. On the other hand S1 as a standalone story is very much about both Lee and Clem.

>>25944

It's more of an issue of Kenny having had two arcs by now as well having as a lot of strong assumptions about him rather than the PC being "too strong". Players know him too well for him to become an effective PC now and he wasn't designed to be one anyway. In contrast when we started playing as Lee it was also the first time we met him; he wasn't carrying two seasons worth of baggage so we had the advantage of using what leeway were were allowed on his development, behavior, and his relationships without any preconceptions to get in the way.

>Maybe "like" is the wrong word to use here, but I know what you mean. I think it would be an interesting theme, it would just break my heart to see her like that. But it would be a more effective way of breaking my heart than what we discussed last thread.

Yeah that really wasn't the right word. I just want her to have an actual arc and I think her guilt over Lee's death could be potential driving force behind it.

Multiple protagonists like with the games you have now. Got a Kenny ending = Play as Kenny & Clem, Got a Jane ending = Play as Jane & Clem, got the alone ending = Play as Clem alone or Clem & a new character.

>>25936

Don't have HBO and I missed the last two episodes as well. I supposed I should get caught up for myself, but I won't enjoy it as much as watching it with you guys.

>>25939

>I would also say that Kenny became the main character of S2 anyway and the shift in focus reduced Clem to being the observer of his story.

I don't think that's necessarily true, which I'll explain why in the reply below.

>I'd likely just roleplay Kenny and base choices on what I'd think he'd do

Well that's just you. Telltale told people to do what they think Clementine would do in the season 2 finale, and they did what they wanted to do instead. People will continue to do the same with Kenny, despite how rigid the choices and dialogue options might be. Not to mention the people who hate Kenny that would play him as an asshole no matter what because that's who they think he is anyway.

>I'd also like to see Clem dealing with depression and deep guilt over Lee's death, possibly even suicidal feelings.

Funny how you say this, yet last thread people were tired of the "woe is Clem" angle. I think that's because what Clem goes through in TWD is impersonal. It's not something that's happening to her personally, it's what's she's going through because that's the world she lives in. I can probably explain it better than that, but I'm sure you know what I mean. She would also feel guilty about shooting Kenny if you had her do that, even more so than with Lee because she was directly responsible for it, and manipulated into doing it. Not suicidal thoughts, but I actually think it'd be interesting to see Clem slowly go insane, how much so based on her choices. I know a lot of people are against the idea of hallucinations in TWD, but I think they could work if they visuals that don't interact with Clem, and only serve a purpose of reminding Clem of the mistakes she's made.

>>25940

>Lee as a character was always an afterthought, first and foremost he was Clementine's caretaker.

Well what would've stopped Kenny from being the same? Season 2 could've still focused on Clementine, you're just Kenny looking after her now.

>>25941

Hey, that would be pretty neat. I was just reminded of Wasteland 2 and how cool it is to have control over every character in your party. Shit, now I want to play Wasteland 2 with a Clementine character. But I've yet to play Fallout!

>I won't enjoy it as much as watching it with you guys

I can use the internet at work to upload things to my VPS, so maybe if I get advance notice, I'll be able to stream things again.

>people who hate Kenny that would play him as an asshole

The funny thing is, you're probably right. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy in the case of those people.

Do you think there's people out there that didn't like Lee? I can hardly see a reason to except that he's urban, but I doubt many Klanmen played TWD since he's not as polarizing.

>Funny how you say this, yet last thread people were tired of the "woe is Clem" angle

I touched upon this in >>25944 and as usual, you put it in better words than I did.

The only time we've seen hallucinations in TWD is with zombie-Clem like I mentioned was pretty good, and with Lori in the show, which was awful and stupid. I don't know if recurring hallucinations or insanity could be done very well, but perhaps if it was less explicit, like Clem just zoning out sometimes (other characters' speech just fading away), or mishearing things, just more creative ways of approaching the subject.

What about intentionally mislabeled interface options? Imagine a walker shooting segment that looks pretty normal, except every walker you hovered over to shoot has names of people that died in the corner like "Shoot Lee", with Clem visibly stressed while doing it. I love it when games pull little interface tricks like that. What do you guys think?

>Hopefully this is the start of you getting your life back on track.

Not really, it's just a summer job I took to make a little money. I do have an interview for a full-time position this week, so things are starting to look up in that regard.

>>25956

I can see why you thought I wouldn't like this, and I certainly don't approve of it. But I respect the effort you put into it and I know better than to question a person's preferences.

I'd really like if you made something cute next time though.

>>25957

No, these are kids that are there voluntarily and therefore are usually pretty high achievers. The teaching is sort of tangentially related to my major because we're meant to teach them about STEM fields. But it's not really a job I'm using to get CS experience.

>>25958

>I can use the internet at work to upload things to my VPS

I wouldn't want you to get in trouble at work just for us.

>Do you think there's people out there that didn't like Lee?

Despite the fact that he has more of a set character than Clementine in season 2, even though he was an original character, we're the ones who are supposed to determine what Lee's like, so I imagine it would be hard to dislike him, unless the person playing the game hates themselves. And I doubt a racist would even want to play a game where you play as an urban.

>The only time we've seen hallucinations in TWD…

Don't forget Tyreese's hallucinations in the episode where he died.

>What about intentionally mislabeled interface options?

Now this is a really good idea. To add to this, I think they could also have walker versions of determinant characters that she didn't save appear in place of the actual zombies, and they return to normal after she kills them.

>I can see why you thought I wouldn't like this

Oh, so this is what he made? I should've realized, he did make a texture of Clem's face beaten before. Well… You pretty much put it how I feel. Although I don't approve of the subject matter, there's no denying he put effort into it.

>No, these are kids that are there voluntarily and therefore are usually pretty high achievers

I had another idea which would mess with the subtitles, but that would only apply to people that play with subs on. Basically, the subs would say things that were completely different, maybe even weird unnerving stuff.

Another idea is shadows passing by the edges of the screen, which would work great in hub areas.

I've just been thinking of various psychological tricks they could pull in TWD, just for fun. Chances are several of these may seem cliche or cheesy, but I still found it an interesting exercise. A lot of these were a bit scary to think about, it's strange to see her in this light.

>Clem sees walkers as regular people, leading to a couple of close calls

>See some dead/determinant character through a window, go around the side and find nothing

>Sudden outbursts at minor things like small noises

>Irrationally disproportionate responses, pulling guns on people, etc.

>Mirror tricks, like Clem's reflection being bathed in blood

>Dreams about being a walker, including eating the flesh of group members

>Dreams about life pre-ZA, then waking up and being visibly depressed

>Clem finding notes written by herself that she doesn't remember writing

>Suggesting and volunteering for extremely dangerous roles, little regard for own safety

>A group member you find is completely imaginary after a long time assuming they were real

>Refusing to put someone out of their misery because she's afraid of being alone

>Invisible "timeskip" where some shit happens but we're left completely out of the loop, presumably because she blocked the memory

>Inappropriately coming on to someone or even attempted rape due to extreme desire for a relationship

>Ceasing to function

Question for you guys interested in this idea of insanity/depression. Who or what could possibly restore her psyche? How close should she get to the point of no return?

I'd like to see some responses to this, but for now I should sleep.

I had a dream two nights ago I figure I oughta tell you guys about. It wasn't about Clementine, but it was Marvel related so close enough. I actually don't remember the bulk of the dream, just the end of it. After a conflict for the Infinity Gauntlet, it winds up in the hand of Charles Xavier. Him and Magneto are walking (in Magneto's case anyway), in some location in space I guess. It had a checkerboard floor that assembled before them as they moved along it. As they are talking Magneto is saying something, but Charles able to read his mind, knows that what Magneto is saying isn't true. He thinks it's because his telekinetic powers are getting stronger that he's able to read Magneto's mind despite him wearing that helmet. But Magneto knows that it's the Mind Gem in the Infinity Gauntlet that allows him to do that. The day I had this dream I was watching videos about the Thanos quest. Thanos quest is about Thanos looking for the Infinity Gems and taking them from the beings who, despite possessing them, are unaware of the power they hold. Charles not being aware of the Mind Gem giving him stronger telekinetic powers, but Magneto knowing that's what it is, is obviously based off of that. The two say their farewells as Magneto returns to Earth leaving Xavier in this location in space.

The Infinity Gauntlet is an artifact that houses the Infinity Gems. When you have them all you can do literally anything you want. I don't know how or under what context, but Professor X actually did wield the Infinity Gauntlet before, so that's probably why he did in this dream, although in the dream it wasn't the gauntlet itself, it was more of a exoskeleton like thing that had slots where the knuckles are which is where the gems go.

Awfully quiet today… I guess I could tell you guys that I did play the recent episode of GoT the other day, it was very fun. Sorry if I forget to say something substantial about it. Being rational pays off most of the time rather than resolving things with violence, I wonder how some of the scenes would have played out if I were to act aggressively.

I loved this episodes involvement of Mira. She can be such a cutie, going by her wit and charm to achieve what she wants. I stood beside my friend Sera, as she did with me. I thought the scenes on the Wall and beyond were a bit weak, but still had its own sweet atmosphere. I did take Flyn, I think that was his name, beyond the Wall with us, although I'm concerned about how we three are going to get along. Oh, it's a bit embarrassing that I can't remember the names of characters.

I felt so… I don't know, satisfied, when I did maim Gryff so badly. It was so pleasuring, I don't think I could have stopped before he would be dead. It had such an effect on me, I felt pleasure as he did beg for me to stop… But anyway, I took the army with me to the Whitehills, and called the Lord's bluff on him hurting Ryan.

I'm wondering what could've happened, if I would've left the army back in Ironrath, as Ramsey was having a bit fun with Talia. I have a feeling the person who I didn't pick as the Sentinel could be the traitor, Duncan, but there was no way to deliver a message as the ravens were killed. Maybe Ramsey came for a courtesy visit.

I'd imagine so, but we don't get to see their fate on screen. According to the partially complete wikia article (http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Sons_of_Winter) only the Mereen guards seem to die in a larger number and there is no mention of the Glenmore's. We pretty much have to assume they get killed/captured.

I've only seen a playthrough of the game, so I don't know too much.

I sort of cheated on the choice with the slave master, I have watched the show where they crucify every one of them, I believe. So I spared him for that moment.

Why haven't you played it yourself, anon? There's nothing better than making yourself immersed in the world around you, and get attached to the characters you'll grow to love so much.

Don't be sad, I suppose anytime is a prime time to talk about it since nobody really discussed it here. It's just a shame there's noone else here for you to discuss it with.

I'm gonna play Sam & Max episode 5 now, hopefully I can finish the season before E3. In the interest of getting people talking, are there any parts of TWD season 1 that makes you question the writing? We question and talk shit about season 2's writing all the time, but there isn't anything in season 1 that I question, not even in 400 Days. But maybe there's something you guys can point out to me.

 No.26012

>>25999

I'm pretty sure there's save editors you can use if you really can't bother to replay them.

>>26011

One of my main issues with Season 1 is its portrayal of day zero of the outbreak. When Lee is in the police car, you see loads of other police cars heading towards Atlanta, and then after a bit, you hit a walker in the road, causing the crash and setting the story in motion. But if there was already a walker several miles from Atlanta, that means people had already been turning for a while now. Why do neither Lee nor the policeman at least mention the mass panic or "riots" that clearly must be going on by this point? I have trouble believing Lee and the policeman just left Atlanta without seeing something was wrong before getting on the highway.

Additionally, I'm not sure how much time Lee must have been unconscious in the car, since Clem mentions it had been a few days and there's those answering machine messages. If it was a short time, that means shit had already hit the fan during the car ride and Lee should have been aware of it. If it was a long time, then Lee could have spent several days in the crashed wreck. I think he does mention he's thirsty, so the multiple day theory is likely, as hard to believe as it is. Rick at least had the coma excuse.

 No.26013

>>26012

Media blackouts maybe? Or possibly it was noticed as a problem but not as a zombie plague but as an outbreak of severe mental illnesses? No clue, but I guess Lee could've been outcold for a day or two. He was "thirsty" when he woke up, meaning he could've been dehydrated after a day of being knocked out. I don't think it could've been more than 24 hours as the cop only came back to life after Lee came near him.

 No.26014

>>26013

I only really have the TV show for context on this, but they usually made it seem like the media portrayed them as riots of some kind. The least we could have gotten was some passing reference by the cop, like "transporting you is a nice break from dealing with all of the riots lately". As it is now, it's like the ZA is just this annoying little thing on the police radio that he shuts off, like he didn't know about it before and doesn't care now.

>are there any parts of TWD season 1 that makes you question the writing?

Some lines and sometimes their deliveries come off unintentionally awkward or funny. The strangely written "we should get to know each other better" convo between Lee and Clem in the pharmacy, "You're small", "Put the gun down bitch", "Hey Ben", "You killed me", etc. Then there's less funny but amateurish dialogue like Carley's "there's something you need to know" before trying to admit her feelings to Doug during the attack on the pharmacy. No one begins a declaration of love with "there's something you need to know" if they'd even be thinking about sort of thing in that situation. The game's dialogue is mostly natural and good but occasionally it becomes melodramatic or cartoonish for whatever reason.

There's more stuff (the Stranger, overly-long animation cycles ruining pacing, Ep. 2's schlockyness, Molly, etc. Despite how much I love S1 I'll admit it has some real issues), the dialogue just came to mind first.

>What about the Stranger bothers you?

Mainly that his motivation for going after Lee falls apart if he didn't steal from the car, causing him to shift goal posts. You could explain it away as part of his craziness but it turns him from someone you've wronged to a petty asshole and weakens the moment and the message it's trying to send. You can see this in blind playthroughs where people who stole from the car tended to feel genuinely bad that they did and people who didn't instead felt exasperated because they felt the game was trying to pointlessly guilt trip them.

>>26036

>What do you mean by this?

The backwoods cannibal family angle that anyone could see from a mile away and some slasher-esque scenes. It wasn't a bad episode and I actually had a lot of fun with the over-the-top scenes but it's such a weird swerve for a supposedly realistic and serious look into the ZA to take.

 No.26040

>>26036

Schlockiness usually refers to cheaply made movies. A schlocky B movie, for example. Just general lack of quality, although it can also be an endearing term.

>I'm gonna assume they just pushed it.

You need something to hitch a boat trailer to, otherwise it'll just tip over. A boat like that could easily weigh up to a ton, I doubt they were able to push it.

I wouldn't consider it bad writing or anything, just a relatively unimportant detail the devs overlooked.

Another thing that I just remembered is the massive horde of walkers that seems to follow the train into Savannah. I can understand that the train would draw walkers that were already in the city, but Vernon implies that it's the train that brought so many into the city proper. Indeed, we see a big horde coming after the train after the tanker is cut down, but that's miles away from Savannah. How would a slow, shambling horde of walkers like that catch up to a train that still had miles to go? Where did that horde even come from, anyways? Are you telling me there were that many walkers just wandering around in the forest that converged into a horde that caught up to them during the downtime?

Oh, and one more. The Stranger follows Clementine via walkie talkie, presumably from the time they looted his station wagon, or maybe even before. How was he able to stay in range to talk to her, especially when moving on the train? Did Clementine really tell him every single detail of their plan to go to Savannah?

>>26038

I guess I was guilty of that

>>26039

I suppose the Stranger did come off as too accusatory if you didn't steal from his car. But his primary goal was to steal Clementine from Lee, so he's going to find any reason he can to be "a petty asshole" and fault Lee with things he didn't even do. I won't deny it probably would have been better if people who didn't steal instead got a more creepy tone where his desire to have Clementine is more clearly stated as his reason to hate Lee. How would you have written it instead?

Anyways, job interview tomorrow. I should prepare myself and get to sleep.

Good night /ttgg/.

 No.26056

Okay guys, assuming anyone's here, stay with me on this one. In the Sonic Adventure games, Sonic Heroes and Sonic '06, the story is broken up between it's playable characters. When you complete all the characters stories, you unlock the last story which gives you the game's final ending. All the characters stories tie together but you need to beat the game with every character to make sense of the story. How would you feel about Telltale releasing a game like this? Instead of releasing the game in episodes, the game has multiple protagonists and the entire game is released at once, but only for one protagonist. The other characters stories become available in the following months as they're developed so you can tie all the stories together once all the characters have been released.

 No.26057

>>26056

So it'd be like the 400 days DLC but much longer with the final scene being its own story instead of them standing around a campfire?

>>26055

It's okay, anon. You could… pirate it, if you'd want to go down that path.

>>26056

I've never played Sonic, so I don't know how it worked then. I suppose that could work. I'm not sure how they'd make their stories tie together, as everyone has their own journey to the end. Do the characters have any connection to each other? What would be the story about, or the bigger picture revealed in the finale? The Borderlands game does multiple protagonists well, maybe even the GoT could be reworked to this format you're talking about. Mira's, Rodrik's, Gared's stories could be in an one episode each. I'm afraid that their stories would become stale or incomprehensible, as it could be too vague. Maybe I'm thinking this wrong, sorry.

 No.26059

>>26057

Sort of. I'll explain how it'd work in the reply below.

>>26058

To make it work similar to how it's done in the Sonic games, each character's story is a season's length, but you have to wait a few months for another character's story to be released, and the last story segment is released at the same time as the final character. Everything culminates and comes together in the final story, which is only an episode's length instead, but you need to play all the character's stories to play the last story segment. The characters, even if indirectly, are all connected in the story, and even when more than one PC is present in the same scene, their different personalities would allow for different choices and interactions with one another. Even though everyone is on the same journey to the final story segment, each character would offer a different experience, plus we'd see things such as what x character did at the same point of the story as y character. Then there's the factor of a character dying/being determinant by the end of their story, thus leaving them out of the final story segment.

And about Borderlands, I already bought it on Xbox. I just want it for PC so I could play the latest episodes right away instead of having to wait. I know I could pirate it, but I prefer to buy it, and I can't play it on my current laptop. I more or less want to buy it now while it's on sale so I don't have to worry about it once I get a better computer, but I probably will pirate it once I do get a computer I can play it on.

A lot of people at around the time S1 was being released saw it coming, me included. Ashley: She is the youngest member of A at 16. She used to be a more depressing character, who would constantly be talking about fatalistic life was, but recently she has turned into more of fighter. She played a key role in saving the other survivor from the school.

Chloe: She is the newest member of A, only joining recently. In fact, she didn't even go on the run because of how recently she joined the group. She was a fisher before the apocalypse, and that helped her stabilize her position in the community.

Jennifer: Jennifer is very distant, constantly trying to keep herself separated from any conflicts. She also has was a rancher, and loves horses.

Mary: Mary is the oldest PC in the game. She is wise, smart, and calm, and seems to always be pretty careful in her actions. Mary has high ambitions though, and its quite obvious shes eying Father James place at the top of the A food chain.

Teodor: Teodor is the sensitive member of group A. He cares greatly for those around him, and he even keeps a book of poetry. Although it hasn't happened yet, I think Teodor blames himself for the deaths of those around him.

Terry: Dumb and strong. Terry wants to lead, but he might not be smart enough to do it effectively. He doesn't like listening to many people, but he will listen to those opinions he values. He enjoys attention. Terry also likes to ask girls if they wanna fuck.

Trisha: The biggest whore of the group. Trisha isn't the nicest person around, even pushing somebody else down the stairs and breaking their legs, but she is certainly a very loyal to her friends. She isn't very smart, but she seems to get along with children very well.

Group C

Edward: Ed was a soldier before the apocalypse. He was friends with Elijah before everything went to shit also, and now seems to follow his orders whenever given. Ed is probably the person with the closest relationship to the kids.

Elijah: Old and grumpy. Elijah is the defacto Leader of C. Everyone pretty much listens to what he says. He personally isn't to impressed with his leadership, even if the others still follow him.

Ivy: The youngest member of the RP. Ivy is 10 years old. She is curious and creative, constantly searching for new mysteries to discover. She was recently kidnapped.

Jack: Jack is the newest member of C. An emotional person, he is easy to set off into any kind of mood swing. He has a thing for a girl in group C, but the feelings seem to go one way.

Malcolm: Malcolm is a charismatic person, generally. He is sometimes cruel to those outside his group, but that is to be expected in a world where life is so threatened. The people he does care about though, he cares deeply for.

If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask.

Finished the last episode of Sam & Max. It wasn't bad by any means, but it seemed underwhelming to me. The twist of who the overarching villain is immediately revealed and you can probably see it coming before the final episode if you're paying attention. Sure. So C decided to raid these bandits, mostly because they believed the bandits bad taken a bunch of people as hostages. He drugged and butchered all the other people that were left behind, and made off with the kids.

>>26134

You just go to this link http://rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=61078&date=1434259296, and build your character. Its under the 'Creating your Character' thread. Follow the rules in there, build your character, and then will work you into the story pretty quickly. A week is about the longest you'd ever have to wait.

Basically its a post by post, so you will write a post describing what your character is doing/thinking/feeling in a certain situation, roll if necessary, and then the other players will respond to your post. Then a GM or Editor will write what happened if it was a situation involving things other than PCs. Then it repeats. Its actually a bunch of fun in my opinion, and it doesn't take up too much time either. If you are an active poster you can get in a post a day, and slower posters post like once or twice a week.

Obviously the best way to get a grasp of how it works would just to be reading some of Group A's or Group C's posts.

Not excited about this reveal.

I hate the Comics quite a bit, have since Issue 41-ish. By now I think Kirkman's lost absolutely all passion and creativity in his writing and has absolutely bastardized his own world and canon. The show's been hopeless since the last half of Season 4. The game itself took a downward turn in Season 2 as many of us know, but to me it's still the defining "Walking Dead" game. Telltale's Season 1 did The Walking Dead better than Kirkman had in the past 7-8 years or so.

If this new comic tie-in focuses on the new Comic issues, I'm going to severely lose faith in Telltale. At least TWD-wise.

Announced this morning at E3 in Los Angeles, today we can finally reveal the next installment for The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series, set to premiere later this fall!

The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Games Mini-Series stars the iconic character from the comic book series haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret. The story explores her untold journey during the time between issues #126 and #139. Through this Telltale Games mini-series of 3 episodes, players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group… and what brought her back.

You can expect to see the premiere this fall on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and compatible iOS and Android-based devices. You'll need at least the first episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two in order to play The Walking Dead: Michonne, but we'll have more info on that for you closer to the premiere date.

So why did we choose Michonne for Telltale's first-ever mini-series? Robert Kirkman and Telltale's own Kevin Bruner can tell you more…

"In many ways, Michonne herself is a reflection of the world of The Walking Dead. She is brutal and cold on the outside, but deep beneath what is broken, she remains hopeful, trying to claw her way out of the darkness that surrounds her," said Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead. "In our effort to bring the world of the comic and the world of the Telltale series closer together, there is no greater character than Michonne to help bridge that gap."

"Michonne's complexity and range make her an ideal lead for the compelling interactive drama fans have come to expect from Telltale," said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "With this mini-series, players will experience Michonne's challenges first-hand, and the choices they make will shape her journey. We're incredibly honored by Robert for the opportunity to share this untold story in The Walking Dead universe."

As ever, stay tuned to Telltale Games on Twitter, Facebook, and right here on the blog for the latest updates as they happen!

>>26155

What the fuck.

>>26159

I feel bad that I missed it…

>>26161

…But it looks like I didn't miss much. Just like I thought, it's about characters from the comic, or at least a character. If there's one good thing I can say about this, it's that at least Telltale is letting us know ahead of time not to waste money on this. I like TV show Michonne, but if the comic version is very different from what I heard, and judging from these other replies she doesn't sound like a good character. As someone who never read the comics, I have no reason to care ether way. Quite frankly, I don't even care if this turns out to actually be good, since just because they manage to write a good story with other TWD characters, doesn't mean that they'll write a good one with Clementine.

>>26175

The facial expression in that pic is leading me to believe that she's rehashed from Lilly.

 No.26179

>>26178

Even plenty of Comic *fans* say she's the worst character Kirkman's made, maybe challenged by Andrea or post-issue-100 Carl.

Remember that idiotic scene in the show where Michonne killed that group of about 15-20 zombies? Remember how the show never did shit like that again? That awful scene is pretty much every scene Michonne's in in the comics.

For example, in the most recent issue she becomes a pirate.

No, I'm not making that up or exaggerating it.

Why does TellTale hate it's own fans?

 No.26188

>>26187

They don't need dedicated fans, they can just pump out another shit game for an entirely different book/tv show/game and then jump to another one rather than relying on having a product good enough to gain any long term customers.

 No.26189

I don't hate Michonne, but I didn't ask for this. What did we do deserve this?

Also, Clem is black, we've been over it at halfchan AND here.

Yup. I remember that being mentioned here. At least it doesn't look like that's going to be the focus of this mini-series unless I'm mistaken.

>>26184

>How "urban" are we talking?

Why do I feel like this is bait for a lewd post?

This. As long as they keep making games based off of well known franchises, they can do whatever they want and still be successful.

 No.26191

I never thought I'd look more forward to a TWD game from another developer (Overkill) than Telltale. S3 feels so far away.

>>26189

I think it's generally accepted on /ttgg/ accepted that Clem is black, just some people have a really narrow definition for what being black means.

>>26190

>At least it doesn't look like that's going to be the focus of this mini-series unless I'm mistaken.

It sounds like it takes place during the comic's timeskip so we'll probably see her become a pirate for better or worse.

A new Walking Dead game. It's not Telltale though. Apparently it's a VR game. Or at least they have a VR demo.

 No.26196

Do you think we'll see any TWDG characters in the Michonne game?

>>26193

A game developer best known for Payday 2. They're making their own Walking Dead game in the same vein it sounds, a co-op FPS game.

Is it bad that I can't unsee a hatless Clementine as the third silhouette in this?

 No.26198

>>26195

Virtual Reality? That's an odd niche industry.

>>26196

I hope not, otherwise we'll actually have to acknowledge the games existence rather than quickly sweep it under the rug and pretend it never existed.

Oh, so it's gonna be a VR L4D game with TWD's branding slapped on it? Great…

Here's some more info if you're interested, including the reveal trailer from last year. http://starbreeze.com/games/overkills-the-walking-dead/

>OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth…

Sounds like Payday alright which is why I'm excited for it.

Why doesn't someone buy TWDG from Telltale already and free my favorite characters from their awful release schedule and plans?

>>26198

>I hope not

I kind of do because otherwise we aren't going to see Clem, Kenny, AJ and who else for a long time. Also this general has been slow-going without new TWDG to fuel it and S3 won't come until at least 2016.

I just thought of something. How much time passed in the comic's timeskip? Two years? If the Michonne game follows immediately after the events of S2 then S3 might take place two years later, catching it up with the comics.

 No.26202

>>26200

If they do tie it somehow to the games and include a character I like, I'll have to play it and give Telltale my money for something that really doesn't deserve it. I could always pirate it, but I've never liked the idea.

 No.26203

>>26200

I don't really see how game characters can be involved in this. I also can't see how any of your choices can matter in this ether, since Michonne will end up at the same point she's in in the comics no matter what.

 No.26204

Is anyone else miffed that Telltale showed up at E3 just to announce their Michonne mini-series? All they showed was a title card that they could've easily tweeted.

>>26202

You could watch a no commentary playthrough. That's likely what I'm going to do since I have no interest in playing it.

>>26203

I don't expect any real tie-in with the TWDG story but I think cameos and references are a possibility.

I honestly can't bring myself to care enough to even do that. Of course I'll probably do it anyway just for you guys which is why I started watching GOT playthroughs.

Too tired to write a detailed post tonight, but suffice to say I'm disappointed. I would like to discuss one thing about the miniseries, guess I'll bring it up tomorrow night after I get back home finally.

It's awfully quiet here… About Wellington, how resourceful do you guys think it'll be? If I remember right, its walls were built by shipping containers, hence the name. Could it be, that it's built by a port? I suppose only then they could have access to a crane. It would open a possibility of fishing on the lake, and an access for easy water for farming their own food. Maybe in S3, Clementine will go sailing like a pirate, she could be our very own Michonne…

I like the idea of Clem playing pretend as a pirate, but when you put it like that, it might turn off a lot of people. Yeah, I think Wellington could be a resourceful place too. We don't see much of it, but it looks like, to me at least, that it might be close to a port. You live far up north, what do you think the weather might be like? Speaking of weather, I wish it was a hazard more often in the games.

How are you anons doing today? Hopefully better than me. I'm stuck overnight in the Houston airport after my flight got delayed and then canceled. If only Clem could keep me company like in my greentext story.

>>26209

I brought this up a while ago. Wellington must have access to some pretty heavy machinery to move those containers. My guess is they're a few miles from a port on one of the Great Lakes.

>pirate Clem

I have an image for this on my computer. Not here, though.

>>26213

I agree weather should play a bigger role. It would be cool if thunderstorms could serve as cover for a stealth segment or something. Even better, "rationing" certain clothes to people like the food at the motor inn. Perhaps people you equip for certain weather would perform better in some critical situation. I'm thinking something like assigning roles to people for ME2's suicide mission, except with clothes.

I said I would bring something up about the Michonne thing today but I can't remember what it was. Damn.
