If you side with Jack, he gives you control of all the security drones before taking them back for himself, leaving you one, albeit a 'dumpy' one. Turns out the small drone can shoot paralyzing electroshock darts. He gets shot by Vasquez, but Rhys collects his chassis and repairs him, nicknaming him 'Dumpy'.

I'm about a third through season 3 at this point. Ned and Renly were my favorites. Both of their deaths made perfect sense for the story so I can't be too torn up over them but I wish Renly had gotten more screen time before Melisandre's demon spawn murdered him.
Davos, Brienne, Olenna, and Tormund are probably my current favorites. The various Stark children, Jaime, and Margaery have grown on me considerably. Tyrion, Cersei, Stannis, and Littlefinger are entertaining to watch but I can't say I "like" them. It's hard to keep my eyes from glazing over during Jon Snow's scenes.

Looks like the VAs will be playing the roles of characters. That just seems like a bad idea, honestly. I'd rather they look a little like the characters they're meant to represent. And I'd rather not imagine Clem as actually looking like Melissa Hutchison

The final scene with Clementine and Lee for sure, which is one of the main things I was talking about when I questioned if they can act as well as they can voice act. Also since the cast only has a few certain characters, we can kinda tell which scenes will/won't be done based off of that.

I actually have a theory for that. You see, Sean Vanaman left Telltale because apparently he didn't want to spend the next few years of his life making zombie games. What makes you think it'll be physical performance? Is that why everyone here is inexplicably down on it? If that turn's out to be the case it could potentially be cringeworthy but it'll likely be a panel-style voice performance like in this vid. It is taking place at a con where that kind of set up is common.

It seems like such a waste to work on this. It's relatively easy and simple for them to set up a scene, they have all the resources for it. They are just blocks, after all. Animation wouldn't be complex, I imagine. They already spoiled what is going to happen in the first episode, I think. It would be convenient to end the episode on them entering the Nether. I just don't know about this. I suppose it's easy money.

You could say the same about the Lego movie and that got a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't think the game will be terrible but I do wish Telltale had picked up another license instead or, better yet, hadn't picked up another license at this point.

Kek, you're right, the game should have low system requirements. They'll probably still be as high they are TFTB/GOT anyway.
>You could say the same about the Lego movie and that got a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes
I suppose that's true but I heard people would rather roleplay or make their own story in Minecraft. I can't see how this Telltale game will be any different other than it having a budget.
No.26937
I think it's finally happening. I'm beginning to forget Clem.
It feels like it's been ages since I last played season 2. Since then, telltale has moved onto other things. Wolf, thrones, borderlands… A lot of you seemed to jump on board as well. I never could. I tried to be excited. I wanted to be looking forward to the next installment of each new series, discussing what happened in the last episode, comparing choices we had made… I just couldn't. None of those games interested me. I just wanted more Clem. I only wanted to spend a little more time with her.
For a while, talking about Clem with others here or seeing pictures of her kept me going. But now it's like dealing with the death of someone you once loved. I see her face and I feel nothing. It's like looking at a stranger. I can barely remember what she was like anymore. I can't even hear her voice.
I know I could just replay the games again, but I feel like I would just end up in the same situation. I'd only be delaying the inevitable. It's just that I don't want to say goodbye. That's all.

Two weeks later and I finally got to play episode 3 of Tales from the Borderlands. This means I finally got to see how Vaughn got shocked and why Fiona is missing her hat if you trusted her at the end of episode 2. Also, RIP in piece Gary. I actually died a few times to the security camera QTEs which annoyed me. Some of the dialogue doesn't make any sense. For instance if you don't blame August when Vallory shows up, a certain dialogue option between Rhys and Sasha still has them mention her being his mom. Athena also mentions how fast Vaughn can eat something even if he was shocked. If you agree to work with Handsome Jack when talking to him on the roof, he doesn't take control of Rhys after he gets knocked unconscious. He also doesn't mess with your eye interface when scanning things. As for outfits, I didn't have enough money to buy something for Loaderbot so I bought outfits for everyone else except Fiona because I didn't have enough money, and because I figure It'd be better to spend the money on someone else besides me. Mike and Jay might be content with just watching a playthrough, one that's somewhat representative of each installment's overall story. I think that's mainly what they would be concerned about, since they're not really used to interactive media and probably wouldn't particularly care how much impact your choices would have.
Rich and Jack would be the ones to talk to about your choices mattering, and I'd be happy if they reviewed a few games. But Mike and Jay might also be interested, since these games are so strongly influenced by movies and TV.

This is gonna come off as a blog post, but hear me out guys. I've been playing and beat Sonic 06 recently, and a couple of things in it reminded me of TWD Season 2, aside from it being comparable in quality to it. Silver the Hedgehog, a new character introduced in the game, was born in an apocalyptic future, and travels into the past to change his future for the better. During his time in the past he comments about how beautiful everything looks and how everyone seems so happy. I imagine a grown up AJ reacting similarly if he traveled to the past and saw what the world was like before zombies started walking around, or if the world returns to normal in his lifetime. Also in Shadow's story, Mephiles, one of the main villains of the game, tries to convince Shadow to join the dark side. He says "The world will betray you. Why fight at all? Why risk your life for those who will persecute you later?" I think this could've been an interesting plot point for Kenny. The villain of the story trying to get Kenny to betray his team by telling him he deserves justice for how they treat him or something. Also there's a side quest for Sonic where you have to choose between Amy and Princess Elise, another new character. I'm curious as to how many players choose who and why, even though, like a Telltale choice, it doesn't matter.

Hard mode: it has to be a specific event, you can't just say "hurr durr everything."
For me, it's a tie between the windmill "puzzle" and everyone in your group not wanting to kill Arvo and suddenly trusting him to show you where his group's supplies are.

I would say episode 5 as a whole was the worst for me, but going by your rules, I'd have to say the ending of episode 4. To me, there was no way Clementine was gonna survive that shootout. I thought for sure she was at least gonna get shot, but not only did she survive, everybody in her group did.
As for an aspect of the TWD fandom that drives me crazy, I'd say both Kenny haters and Arvofags. Which are sometimes the same people.

Sarah's unavoidable death. It was the moment they gotten so lazy with determinant characters that they couldn't even let one live past the episode they had determinant cast on them. I had wanted Sarah to be a lot more than she was.
Bonus: The way episode was written to trick you into shooting Kenny. It was no coincidence that Kenny was the one in the position of power at the end and that in order for Clem to side with him, she had to do nothing, when ever person is used to being active. Of they had both been trying to kill each other and both had called out for help, I think you'd see a lot less people with Jane in the end. That scene was rigged to be as biased as possible.

Actually now that you mention that, I think I hate the second option to shoot him more. Episode 5 had me questioning things all throughout the first time I played it, but this one left the biggest question mark over my head. Why would I would to shoot Kenny at that point? Especially if I didn't take the opportunity to shoot him the first time it came up? It's also completely out of character for Clementine to kill him at that moment because there's no reason to at that point.

I'd say my real problem with season 2 was that they couldn't decide what type of story they wanted to tell, and who mattered. I really, really hope S3 is a brand new set of characters and they plan out everything in advance.
This idea just popped into my head (and probably has been brought up by someone else before) but what if originally it was going to be the choice of the cabin group + Jane or Nate and his group? Those early episode slides clearly has Eddie and what looked like Vince in them. And they spent way too much time on Nate in 400 Days for them to never use him. Just putting it out there.
Season 2 just reeks of a sudden change in the direction of the story partway through development. Same with TWAU.

1. I'd say when Nick died in episode 4, if you kept him alive. I had been pretty lenient with them throughout the season, but I think that was the point I realized they were 100% willing to throw characters out the window and not answer questions. I'm not sure how to articulate it, but it was the point I realized how hard they were phoning it in.
2. I've been really guilty of this when it comes to Janefags (but I've been working on just not replying to them), but groups of fans who just constantly bicker (Jane vs Kenny, is Ben a piece of shit, etc.) And I don't mean debate about things in the game, I mean going at each others throats and just being really purposely unpleasant.

I can understand why people hate Kenny, but defending Arvo or Jane makes zero sense to me. I also agree that the shootout resulting only in Luke getting a minor would was pretty fucking fishy.
>>27041
Sarah was such wasted potential. It was good to have that theme of helping the weak or letting them get culled… if the writers had fucking brains and did that. After that point, I actually stopped caring about the characters since I knew it was completely out of my control. The only thing I did end up getting control over was letting Kenny kill Jane (which I wanted to do) and staying with the Boatmaster.
I seriously have NO FUCKING CLUE how people did NOT immediately understand that Jane had hidden/killed the baby JUST to get a rise out of Kenny and try to win over Clem's trust. When I got the option to shoot Kenny, I was pissed that there was no option to shoot Jane. I immediately forgave Kenny after it, though, so they at least gave you that much.
People who don't get Kenny typically have good points, which center around the fact that he's an impulsive asshole - which he is. But I think that when you keep in mind how much he's lost and what he went through as a kid with an abusive father, it makes more sense.

Potential, sure but the writers squandered it. I seriously have no idea how the writers thought rational people would side with Jane, who spends all her time talking about how traveling with others is for weaklings and how she consistently bails on your group whenever it suits her. She leaves her own fucking SISTER to die because "hurr durr da strong survave." What makes you think she won't ditch Clem at some point? Kenny would drag Clem if he had to.
I think the main reason S2 flopped so hard was because:
> the writers would change shit around all the time if players guessed shit on the forums… shit that was obviously being foreshadowed
> less experienced writers
> no one was there to keep the overall script and story in focus
> they really did not know how to use Clem as the protagonist
> they wanted to make something fast and cheap
> their metrics may have revealed that most people did not bother with all of the side and fluff conversations that they spent so much time writing, animating, recording, and so forth
>>27049
I think probably the biggest bullshit moment of S1 was the bite. I knew that there was a zombie under that plywood and I was shouting at my screen that I would be really mad if this was the inevitable bite scene. Since it was late, I just got a lot of booze and finished the episode in indignant shock.
>>27051
Yeah, the fact that he was killed off without any reactions from the rest of the group was just retarded. As for Janefags, they're just morons who are first to go on the day of the /ttgg/ rope. TT's games are simple enough for non-videogame people to figure out, that's part of their design. I'd like to see Mike and Jay play through, compare, and critique TWDG S1 and S2's stories. I think Rich and Jack would come in with the wrong idea about how choices work in S1 and get distracted from the story, although I did love their review of The Order. There's something about movie guys taking apart videogame stories. It's like food critics critiquing ramen.

Predictions? I'm not sure. It ended on a pretty bad note, them being captured and all. They'll go to Helios for that one Gortys upgrade, I wonder how. I imagine Yvette could help getting us on board with something, I don't think I've seen anyone fly an space craft in Borderlands before. I'm looking forward on seeing what will happen to lead Fiona and Rhys to be captured by that masked man. Also, I wish Rhys' and Sasha's relationship would progress for fruitfulness, if that makes sense.
>What did you think of Gortys?*
I think she's very cute. I don't mind her voice, it's pleasing to me. I liked being a bit childish with her.

Vaughn could be planning on saving their captured friends with a secretly stashed military-level Atlas aircraft capable of space travel, but it would be a bit cheesy. Related to that, I don't understand why are you guys worried about Vaughn. Is he really going to become a psycho?

Quite a bit of the episode will likely involve getting to Helios. Like >>27076 said, I've never seen anyone fly a spacecraft in Borderlands. Perhaps that ship-looking thing we saw a looooong while ago might be how you get up there?
Then, if you trusted Jack, a big hackathon on board Helios. If you didn't… maybe you'll stealth your way through? That might be cool.
>What did you think of Gortys?*
Gets on my nerves a little bit. Not sure exactly why they needed to create a sentient robot to find a vault, but hey, who really cares, right? I wonder, will she play a role in actually opening the vault?
>Where is Vaughn?*
Last we saw him, he was up in some tree, right?
It would be funny if he was lost in the forest for like an hour, and came out a completely changed person. But it would be stupid, too.
>What do you think will be found inside the vault?*
Some alien technology, and/or disappointment LIKE EVERY OTHER VAULT we've seen. I personally think they haven't really used the alien theme they introduced in the first game enough.

If he had a robocock, that must mean his old one was, um… yeah.
But in all seriousness, he has the robot arm and ECHO eye right now completely voluntarily, right? Or do you think something might have happened to him?

The arm doesn't appear to have any real benefits, so I don't think that was voluntary. The eye and internal implants probably were, unless it was an Adam Jensen situation. But there's nothing to suggest that it was.
No.27094
Man, watching my brother play TWD reminds me of how much I like season 1's characters so much more than season 2's characters. For fucks sake I'd even rather have Lilly back than anyone in the cabin group. Even though she and Kenny wouldn't get along, at least Lilly is someone I care about, whereas the cabin group gives me no reason to care about them whatsoever. Hell even fucking Chuck gave me more reason to care about him in the short amount of time we knew him, than anyone in the cabin group did.

Remember anon, S1 was damn good but of course had some flaws whilst S2 was a train wreck after Episode 1 and started properly derailing about halfway through.
Actually, I'll probably have to replay S1, 400 Days and S2 along with maybe all the Borderlands episodes because I think I've bricked my hard drive. Currently posting from another PC, which isn't ideal.

But in all seriousness, if Kenny wasn't there and Lee was being played by a pussy like most Lees were, the whole group would have been dead. Well they done it once with Kenny, they could do it again with Lilly. Kenny proved to be one of the fan favorites of S2 so maybe the same thing could happen.

He's got his uses but more often than not he's a source of conflict in the group. A growth that needed to be terminated. Very similar to the situation with Larry. Larry was a source of conflict. Larry was fiercely protective of his family. Larry had his uses as a strong guy. Kenny saw fit to kill him, and I'd say the same thing is needed with Kenny.
Well, I suppose I would keep Kenny around if I was running a group, but only if I could guarantee I could keep him on his leash. Otherwise he's a mad dog that I can't keep under control and he's a liability.
No.27151

No.27152

The group you had, the cabin group, were incompetent as fuck. Kenny had to do most of the work to save their asses. Not only that, he also delivered AJ.
Kenny works well when there's a plan to follow, a goal in mind. Not a bunch of idiots who can't survive for shit.

No.27154

No.27155
>>27152
Yeah well Kenny's inability to pause and evaluate a situation is his biggest weakness. Having a plan is useless if the plan is retarded or suicidal. Example. Let's run out the back of this truck and attack them, guys. Clem get my back. He was literally going to do it to had he not banged his head on the door, a remarkable stroke of luck.
No.27156

No.27158

In that situation I would fall back on the information that was available. These people with me claim to know our captor. Okay I'll listen to what they have to say instead of getting myself, and Clem, and maybe some other people shot because I'm still suffering trauma from the first time this happened.
Rushing out the back of the truck is stupid and suicidal. You have been captured by people with automatic rifles, and are being brought to a location with more people with guns. Don't be a fucking idiot. Kenny's plan sounded straight out of an action movie it was so stupid.
No.27159
>>27158
The same people who lied to you and got you in this mess, what reason do you have to trust them? Besides they didn't know their location, they could've stopped for literally anything.
Kenny acted the same way Rick would've.
No.27160
>>27159
He likely would've gotten killed, wounded, or subdued and separated from the group. When the back of the truck opened there were about half a dozen people there with automatic weapons on the other side. It was a dumb plan and none of the adults were being useful or resourceful at the time.
No.27161
>>27159
When you have no information you gotta acquire it from any source you can. I don't care if the cabin group lied to me previously, they claim to know this guy? tell me everything you can.
>acted the same way Rick would've
That's false, Rick is a much more accomplished survivor and leader than Kenny. Kenny can barely manage to stay alive only a couple years in, Rick is able to build entire civilizations. Kenny could never in a million years build a fucking civilization like Rick.
