The Michonne game should have been about Negan instead. That would have been GOAT.

Here's what I think is going on:
Jefferson has been doing that shit for a while now, in many different places, probably mostly to his groupies. He might have came to AB to lay low. He met Nate and through his photos found a kindred spirit. They bonded, formed a weird mentor/student relationship and Jefferson got Nate in on the action. Nate returned the favor by providing Jefferson with a safe place to operate in (his family was in the bomb shelter business a while ago, Jefferson and Nate just repurposed it) and teen girls. Something went wrong with Rachel, she probably became lucid earlier than they expected, saw them and got killed for it. All those texts from a protected number about not being called while he is at work, and the note at the computer probably aren't from Nate's father at all, but from Jefferson who wants Nate to be his heir and continue the legacy, but is worried that Nate's teen angst will get them outed and ruin everything. Or maybe that's just what he's been telling Nathan and is only using him for his family's money and connections and/or as a fall guy.
Does that make sense? No idea how the time travel/storm fall into it. Could be that they don't and that Max's power is just some cosmic fluke and that everything that's been going on regarding the whether, animals and the solar system has to do with her abusing time with her powers. Maybe it will all be resolved if she goes back in time before she ever used her power and just never use it. Maybe it's about Chloe not dying in that bathroom.

Do you think Chloe is permanently dead? I mean, 4 episodes of character building just to shoot her in the head? I'm sure at some point we'll get to go back a lot further in time to undo all this shit, but maybe not quite so far back as it's before she gets her power.

Speaking of which, do you think hostility towards homosexuals would be commonplace in the ZA? Might they form their own communities?
This is a completely serious question, by the way. Consider that the TWD ZA occurs sometime in the nineties/early 2000s, do you think by then the animosity and taboo about the subject would have gotten to a level where people might ignore it in the face of real problems?
Race is a similar subject and besides urbans, I don't think it's really been approached in TWD media before. But then again, race hasn't really been a very divisive issue since the sixties. Homosexuality might be different.

I don't know how common place it is in general, but there's been a few homosexual people in the game and TV series, though I don't know about the comics. The hardest choice in this episode for me wasn't choosing whether or not to kill alt!Chloe it was whether to write on Warren's slate or not. On the one hand, what Max wrote seemed like something Brooke might write, since it was a chemistry joke. But the tone was also rather flirty, so if Warren knows Max wrote it that would backfire hugely. So I ended up writing nothing.

Yes, but I'm saying it is plausible. In fact, I suppose you could define an absolute minimum playtime if you know the shortest dialog options.
This might actually be an interesting exercise, because it's possible a short dialog option might cause you to see some other story branch which would take longer than just picking a longer dialog option. In order to optimize your route through the game, you'd have to know the ramifications of every single choice you make down to the most granular level.

What are you watching a speedrun of?
>I suppose it would be possible to "speedrun" telltale games by picking the shortest dialog options..?
Assuming we're talking modern Telltale S1 would make the "best" speedrun because it has gameplay sections which make up half the game, complete with quests and puzzles (simple as they are).
>>27616
The problem with that is once the shortest routes are recorded any schmuck could "speedrun" a post-TWDG game and that misses the point of speedruns. Speedrunning isn't just about memorizing the shortest path, it's about navigating that path with the skills you acquired from mastering the game. Post-TWDG TT games require no skill to actually play which would make a speedrun of one boring and unimpressive to watch. I'd take my hat off to the crazy person that went through the mind-numbing task of writing down the optimal path though.

Super Mario Sunshine race, as part of that games done quick thing. It was interesting to watch.
>I'd take my hat off to the crazy person that went through the mind-numbing task of writing down the optimal path though.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I agree that the actual execution of the run would be unimpressive, but I'd seriously respect the person who figured out the absolute minimum amount of time it takes to play TWAU is say, 4 hours and 41 minutes. It would also be interesting to see what those choices were. Since modern TT games lack so many gameplay sections, it's almost purely a case of mathematical optimization at that point.
I'm thinking the best way would be to somehow computationally analyse the game. You could build an extremely detailed decision tree right from the game's files somehow.
Knowing how buggy Telltale games are, it might be entirely possible to sequence break them, too.

Loliloveranon's reaction to this made me think that this was going to be lewd.
Oh, and before I forget, I had a TFTB dream last night. Rhys was captured by Vasquez and they were in an office similar to the one at the beginning of the game, but in a modern setting rather than futuristic. Rhys was being held by two guards who carried him to Vasquez. The interactions were quite funny, as if I was really playing TFTB.
>Rhys: Hey…
>Left guard: "Vasquez".
>*Pause*
>*Right guard punches Rhys in the stomach*
>Rhys: Ow! …Vasquez.
Vasquez then started to talk and eventually addressed Rhys. Rhys started to answer, and one of the guards slapped him upside then head. Rhys then said "Ow! Hey, I was already starting to say it." Eventually Vasquez mentions the briefcase that Vasquez was after, which he recovered from Rhys when they captured him. It's the same case from episode 1, but it has more than just 10 million dollars in it. It also contained some personal items of Vasquez's including some photos that mean a lot to him. Vasquez his happy to have the case back, unaware that the contents inside have been destroyed. You can choose to tell Vasquez when he mentions the case, and in my dream it was chosen to tell him about the photos. Vasquez then immediately opened the briefcase with a look of shock on his face, followed by anger, and he ordered to have Rhys killed. Then the same scene played again, but this time with Handsome Jack instead of Vasquez. Jack's guards where more gentle with Rhys, most likely because of the whole if Rhys dies so does Jack thing. Like Vasquez Jack was also after a briefcase, but for some reason this one was holographic like Jack. Also like with Vasquez, the contents within the briefcase were also somehow destroyed, but this time the silent option was chosen when Jack mentioned it, leaving him to find out what happened to the briefcase later. The last thing I saw was an image of Vaughn and Sasha together, then my fucking cellphone alarm wakes me up!

That sounds like an interesting idea, but I don't think survivors in the ZA would give enough of a shit about portraits to be willing to trade supplies/currency for them. The ZA seems to have occurred sometime during the 90s and early 2000s, when film cameras still hadn't been phased out. Photography wouldn't be as widespread, but it wouldn't die out completely.

Wouldn't most film degrade after a few years? Also, and maybe this is looking a little too far into the future, cameras manufactured before the ZA would break or become defective over time. Photographic film emulsion is pretty simple to produce if I recall correctly, it's just silver nitrate in an emulsifier. There's a process involved, but if someone's going to the trouble of developing their own film (as is necessary for film cameras anyways), it's not a huge stretch that they might make their own emulsion, too. You'd be able to take some pretty decent black and white photos with a pinhole camera.
Now that I think of it, the photos of Alexandria appeared to be black and white, and were a bit blurry. It's possible that this is implying it's homemade photo paper.

>cameras could be used for research and study
What do you mean by this? I haven't played Bioshock.
>>27692
I suppose I'm a little far behind on GoT now, but I can answer the more general questions.
>Will TT pull the same shit they did with TWDS2, and have multiple endings in a game where your choices don't matter?
Well, the GoT game is ultimately about House Forrester. How many different ways could you end a story about it that would be drastically different? It's not like TWD where the death of a couple of characters makes a gigantic difference. A little timeskip would be enough to smooth out any differences in endings if they decide to do a second season, and it's not nearly as blatant a cop-out as it is for a series with a small cast like TWD.
>Do you think we'll get the GOT finale before the next episode of TFTB?
I hope not.

It's probable, for the same reason mentioned above. It would be extremely easy to just continue the story of House Forrester regardless of how Season 1 ended.

The research camera in Bioshock is able to analyze genetic information and parse biological structures just from taking a photograph of the subject. Like I said, it wouldn't be used like that but rather, what this anon >>27695 said, they would use it to study and document zombie behavior.

It can get pretty emotional. Telltale really knows how to set the mood. Some characters are pretty enjoyable, voice acting is on point for the most part. While choices don't really matter, it is fun to see how varied the reactions of the playable characters can be. You can be a total beta or just not give a fuck and say or do whatever is on your mind.
>the worst thing
Important shit getting done off screen (presumably dropped plots), characters acting OOC for the sake of drama, villains use cheat codes to get the better of you, again, for the sake of the drama. Choices still don't really matter and it's getting incredibly obvious now, it's to the point where I can't even pretend like they mean anything and I just pick what sounds like it would be funny to do. I think it looks a bit uncanny in weird way. It seems like Telltale tried to compromise between it's traditional comic-y artstyle and a realism and the characters wound up kind of looking like dolls. Combine that with the jerky animations and it looks a bit eerie to me. LiS went for a similar painterly style but pulled it off better I think.

Unless it was S2, in which case activity would last for months until the next episode came out. I maintain the only reason TftB and GoT episodes don't generate anywhere as much discussion is because they aren't TWDG. We've picked apart and bitched about S2 a lot here but now I want to ask you guys what you liked about it, even if it's just little things. Let's face it, while S2 was disappointing I know you guys enjoyed some parts of it.
1. Despite the way she was generally handled her I think Clementine had some great moments. Sassing the adults, especially Rebecca, in the first episode was fun. All the little moments where she'd scrunch at whatever an adult said or did was cute and made her seem like an actual child. On the flip side her staying to watch Carver's death was done really well also, and watching her face distort from childlike revolt to grim determination to hatred was a cool character defining moment to me.
2. The climax and the ending were some of the few times the game elicited strong emotions out of me. The final confrontation was genuinely distressing and frightening. Clementine felt like a helpless child rather than the Cleminator, as she could do nothing to stop these two mad adults. Kenny was particularly so scary in that scene that I actually remained afraid him after Clem found AJ (sidenote: the look of weariness on Clem's face before she hugged Kenny was a great touch and mirrored my feelings as we reluctantly trusted him.) The ending at Wellington was was great and left me physically trembling as I watched Kenny walk off into the distance and Clem go into her strange new home. Kenny's arc in the last two episodes was just great.
2. Sarah's death really fucked me up, I realized too late she was one of the few CG members I cared for and at the time I was angry at Jane for "letting her die". I think her death at the observation post was handled poorly and the sudden tone shift to everyone being happy about the new baby was jarring, but it was one of the few times I felt really bad about a cabin members death.
3. The confrontation with Walter was one of the most intense moments I've experienced in TWDG. I was torn at what to say as I saw there was no obvious or easy way to resolve the situation. The way Walter, this kind former schoolteacher, became unraveled as learned the details of his partner's death was tragic, frightening, and brilliant.
4. It was great fun talking about the recent episode while predicting the next. Despite the frustration I felt when the game would drop an interesting ploline or kill a potentially great character, it always had me hotly anticipating what would happen next. There's more I feel I could say but I need to replay S2 to refresh my memory.
No.27754
Just replayed The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2 again.
2 isn't that bad, but I don't understand why I can't like the characters the same way I liked the characters from season 1.
Even though Larry is a dick the entire time I still prefer him to every season 2 character except Kenny.
No.27755
>>27754
S2 never really gave you time to get to know your fellow survivors. You're always moving from scene to scene, set-piece to set-piece. There are very few moments you get to just recover, talk to others, and think about whatever crazy or tragic event just happened. It didn't help either that the other characters didn't seem to care that much whenever one of them died. You might like them but you're never given a reason to care about them.
Compare that to S1 where whole hubs were dedicated to talking to your fellow survivors in wake of what just happened. Those were some of the game's strongest moments. The reason you might care about Larry more than any of the cabin group is that you could talk to him and see why he behaved the way he did (out of concern for his daughter and Clementine), and his death was given weight and had a tremendous impact on the characters.
No.27756
>>27752
>I have a feeling Sasha will be determinant, and the choice to let her "fall" in episode 3 was foreshadowing for it.
So do I but given how Telltale's handled determinant characters post-S1 I hope it isn't true.
No.27757
>>27753
I thought about doing something like this some time. I agree that Clementine's character was handled better in episode 1. It's the only episode where I actually feel like I'm playing as Clementine. There isn't a single moment in my opinion where Clementine is out of character in that episode, even when she's being mean. And the hub where you're looking for food in the camp with Sam is one of my favorite parts of the game.
The Kenny endings, especially the one where you stay at Wellington, were also great. They're the only parts of the game that made me cry, and the only parts of the game that I would consider emotional on the level of something from season 1.
Up until they decided to do nothing with Sarah and have her die no matter what, I liked that she was pretty much the only character in the game whose interactions with you are different depending how you treat her, the biggest thing of course being whether or not you choose to be her friend. I really thought she was built up well and that she was going to play an important part in Clem's development. That's not what happened obviously, but I'm trying to remain positive for this.
I liked episode 4 for being the one with the most with actual gameplay, including an actual puzzle. It felt like an episode of season one in terms of how balanced things were between the gameplay and cutscenes. And the hubs, though not of season 1 quality, didn't feel like filler.
I also agree with you that speculating about what was gonna happen next was fun, even if there was a lack of focus and rewrites bringing the season down.
>>27754
Maybe season 2 isn't as bad as we say, and it's the environment of /ttgg/ that makes me feel it is. I guess if I could describe it in a more balanced way, at it's best it's mediocre, at it's worst it's something I don't ever want to revisit.

I am, but honestly not quite as much as I have been for past episodes. I'm not really sure why. Maybe because this new villain and the threat they present didn't quite grab me.
