I don't think people aren't talking about TftB because it has few faults to complain about. If that was the case we'd be discussing GoT more. People in general just aren't hype for the current TTG games for whatever reason. /lisg/ is way more active than us despite having only one game to discuss.

>Did you check out the leaked spoilers for the final episode?*
Yes
>Regardless of your answer to the above question, what do you expect to happen in the final episode?*
The stranger will be revealed to be Felix
>Did Sasha get captured or did she sell you out?*
I don't think it's in her character but I can see TT come up with a flimsy reason to make her sell out Fiona for the dramatic irony.
>What was your ending choice?*
**I "Jacked" in but I might go back and change that for dumb roleplay reasons.
>Which ending do you think is better?*
Haven't seen the other ending yet.
>Which ending do you think will lead to a better outcome in the final episode?*
I don't think it'll really matter much. Telltale has been awful at doing illusion of choice since TWAU and despite whatever I may think of TftB I don't think that's going to change.
>What are thoughts on this episode? What was your favorite moment?
Overall I enjoyed most of it but it feels like one of the weaker episodes so far. Some of the setpieces were fun and most of the characters are consistently great but the plotting and pacing are bizarre. Scooter's death and memorial was too long and awkwardly placed in the story. The the intro was too long and not very fun or entertaining. The game picks up when the gang gets on Helios but you have to slog for a bit.
I'm also becoming increasingly aware how railroaded the game sections are. Set-piece after set-piece and even the "hubs" feel like cutscenes with pointless gameplay elements. Choices still don't have effect on your relationships with most characters except Jack so he's only person who's interesting to interact with. I'm getting vibes that the writers are just winging it as the they along which is pretty standard for TT plotting these days

Yes.

I expect it to be who the leaks say it is.
>Did Sasha get captured or did she sell you out?*
Captured. I just don't see Sasha selling out Fiona, even if she is desperate for a better life. Just look at how angry and outraged she is at Felix.
>What was your ending choice?*
Jack it in, baby!
>Which ending do you think is better?*
The other one is more ominous and dramatic, but I prefer the one I went with.
>Which ending do you think will lead to a better outcome in the final episode?*
I don't think that the choices will have very dramatic consequences either way.

Aaand I forgot the thread theme question. I'm on a fail roll today.
>What are thoughts on this episode? What was your favorite moment?
Pretty good. Not the best episode by any means, the sequence before the intro was too long, and a bit of a drag for the most part. Could have also used more Hyperion, Vaughn and Loader Bot in this episode. But as soon as the characters left Pandora it was just non-stop fun. Except for Scooter's death, nothing really stood out for me. I also liked seeing Fiona and Sasha back in the con game, since they were pretty much just action heroines for the last two episodes.
****
I have some questions about Yvette's betrayal though. How did she and Vasquez know there was something useful in Rhys' head when Rhys didn't know it until the end of episode 1? And at what point did she betray him? Maybe I'm just dense, but I don't understand how it vent down.

That's because /lisg/ has more people and none of the problems that /ttgg/ had when it was still on 4chan. Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but if the people from 4chan /ttgg/ who hate this place for whatever reason would get their heads out of their ass and took a few minutes to take a look at this place, they'd realize this place isn't what they think it is.

>Anon tries to accurately reflect the parameters for the TWD's outbreak in Project Zomboid
I'm not the same anon, but here is my attempt.
> Date
Kirkman grew far more vague on the date as the series developed, but he did at one point make the general statement to imagine as if this stuff just started happening from October, 2003 onward. He probably meant this as just an example, but it's the best we can go off of.
Personally, I'm just going to set the date for modern day since I want to.
> World options
I agree with the last anon. In rural areas, most people just lock their doors. Some don't even do that. House alarms are rare. In terms of water and electricity shut-off, however, this is likely to be a lot faster. In the rural setting of Project Zomboid, leaving it up to 0-2 months is being generous since most power grids and water supplies would fail by the end of 4 weeks. The only way that you could stretch it out is if technicians put in a number of failsafes to keep these utilities running for as long as possible without human operation, which could range from a few extra weeks or for years (in the case of nuclear and hydro power plants). Most people in rural areas would be running off coal plants that won't keep running for very long.
> Weather
Well this really only applies if you wanna be in the south. I'm from New England where we get the best (and worst) of every season.
> Loot rarity
I wish they would allow us to specify item types rather than general groups. Baseball bats, golf clubs, hand axes, and other tools-turned-weapons would be fairly common. Guns would also probably be less abundant, but both towns in Project Zomboid are military family towns and, additionally, if you wanna place yourself in the American South, guns wouldn't be entirely uncommon. It's mostly in urban centers and wealthy suburbs that they don't show up. I just got the game so I'm still toying with loot spawning levels.
> Zombie lore
Most people who get bitten turn within hours. There are a few exceptions, like Jim and Dale, but most reanimate pretty quickly, as we saw Ben's teacher in TWDG and people killed in the comic.

I think in the game, we have a somewhat definite date of the outbreak due to the Crawford tapes. June 20 of 2000, I think it was?
That's also how we estimated Clem's birthday.
Water might last for quite a while. Water towers are completely passive systems and are almost ubiquitous at least here in the south, so it's not completely out of the question that they might last for quite a while.
I've got a little story about this game. I was playing with another anon. He got scratched and was turning, so he decided to attract as many as he could to the church by shooting a couple, and then went out in a blaze of glory (literally) by burning the place down while he was inside.

I stopped watching AMC's TWD by the end of Season 3 which was just a huge waste of time.
I stopped reading Kirkman's TWD around the Negan storyarc which was just Governor 2.0.
I loved TTG's TWD S1 and TWAU. I'm got bored with TTG's GoT and haven't tried TFTB yet.
I heard that TTG'S TWD S2 was disappointing.
As someone who thought:
-The Walking Dead Comics weren't any good until the prison arc.
-Hit it's climax when Carl killed Ben
-Dwindled in quality as the protagonists became too unlikable and the story got repetitive with them coming across hostile communities over and over.
-Thought that the first season of AMC's the Walking Dead was nothing special. (It was just a hodgepodge of old ideas done better from 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, and LOST.)
-Thought that Season 2 of The Walking Dead was the best.
(What the fuck was wrong with everyone else? It was not just them sitting around in a farm.
-Daryl became a main character then stole the show when previously he was just an interesting extra.
-The whole lost Sophia arc was devastating and led to what much of the show was about.
-Daryl and Carol developed a relationship.
-We were introduced to the Greenes.
-Maggie and Glenn fell in love.
-Shane went fully into the dark side into what he would do to protect the group and also win back Laurie.
-The conflict with Rick and Shane!
-The first encounter with a hostile group!
-The prisoner story arc that examined how the group was devolving and losing it's humanity.
-How Dale played the moral voice in their depiction of 12 Angry Men.
-The showdown with Rick and Shane was one of the most heartpounding and heartbreaking television moments of that year.)
-Thought Season 3, Part 2 was total shit.
-Thought Season 1 of Telltale Game's The Walking Dead was the greatest thing since sliced bread and thought AMC should fire the showrunners and writers and replace them with the Telltale staff.
-Hoped it could create a renaissance in the revival of adventure games.
-And unique game protagonists.
-Bought all their subsequent stuff since.
-Liked The Wold Among Us even more.
-But has been frustrated at the lack of replay value and significant diverging storylines.
-Which has seemed worse since playing "Life is Strange" and "Dreamfall Chapters" that offer better branching storylines and use of choice and consequences.
-Which kind of ruined Telltale's Game's Game of Thrones" so much I stopped playing. You could just leave the game on for most of the parts and let the dialogue tree run for the "mute playthrough." and nothing really changes. (Still much better than Season 5 of HBO'S Game of Thrones.)
-Was talked into playing the first Borderlands by friends which I thought was boring.
Would I actually enjoy playing The Walking Dead S2 or Tales from the Borderlands?
No.28146

You should just pirate it and complain about it with us.
>TWD S2 lacks a narrative focus, characters for the most part are just wandering around aimlessly
>majority of characters are forgettable redshirts who randomly get killed off for shock value, but it never works because no one gives a shit about them
>the remaining characters are mostly assholes
>plot points and conflicts are brought up and mysteriously dropped
>there's a character who gets a completely new personality between two episodes
>for the most part choices matter even less than they did in S1
>hubs are extremely limited and streamlined
>no real optional or branching dialogues
>I don't believe that any episode lasts longer than 90 minutes, which may be a blessing in hindsight
So yeah, it's shit.
Still, there are some upsides.
>The first two episodes are okay-ish, you can tell that some thought was put into how such a small protagonist can deal with walkers. Too bad it was dropped later on.
>One character is the emotional heart of the season, and I feel like they do a good job of it, though they are a very polarizing love them or hate them kind of figure.
>Despite the shittiness, Telltale does know how to elicit emotions from time to time. I legit felt tense, happy, or sad here and there, though it's still not as good as S1.
>In the last episode, couple of choices do seemingly matter and lead to very different scenes, which is cool.
>It also looks prettier than S1.
As for Borderlands, I think it's legitimately good. It suffers from some of the same things that other new telltale games suffer from. Limited intractability with the environment, very cutscene-ish, shit like that. As far as the choices mattering, it's about the same as TWD S1, in that they only really effect your relationship with one or two characters. Still, the soundtrack is great, the characters are memorable and the story is pretty solid. Sadly there's nothing controversial about the game, so we never get autistic about it and debate.
Hope I helped without getting too spoilery.

>What did you choose?
I haven't played it myself yet, but I've seen both endings and I can't decide which ending could potentially lead to a different outcome in the next episode. On one hand taking over Hyperion means that Rhys could be more in control of what happens next episode, but labels him as the bad guy, while refusing to rule keeps that from happening but since Jack forces you into it, it gives a feeling of Rhys being held hostage.
>>28142
Wow, I wonder if anyone showed up late and caught the show even if there was onone else in the stream.
>>28143
I… What?
>>28145
>he actually liked season 2 of the show
Then yeah, by all means you should enjoy season 2 of the game. I'm warning you right now though, there's only one other character you're gonna care about besides Clementine, and if you don't like this character, you're not going to get a satisfying ending. Even if you do like this character, the game goes extremely out of it's way to make sure you side against them in the end so you get a completely unsatisfying ending.
Tales from the Borderlands is good. The story is entertaining and has fun interesting characters, the humor is good and not ebin memes, and the hubs in episode 2 are the best from a telltale game since episode 1 of TWAU.
>>28147
I have no idea. Maybe Telltale are a bunch of con-artists who are just winging it.
Oh, before I forget, I might as well tell you guys about Fear the Walking Dead. It was basically like watching a family drama. Nothing happened in it. It was just a story about a troubled family with a son who had drug problems. There were about 3 or 4 zombies at most and they were only talked about a few times. If you randomly changed the channel and came across the show, unless you came across it at one of the rare times when there was a zombie onscreen, you would not be able to tell that it was something related to the walking dead. Even then, because this features new characters, it's completely indistinguishable any other zombie media. I don't really see why we needed this show. It's not doing anything that hasn't already been done by another zombie show or movie.

Season 3 was pure shit.

I watched it on premiere night and of course the first episode is going to be slow and full of character establishment. I thought it was actually pretty good. It told us about the relationships of the characters, the dysfunctionality of their family, and initial hints at what is to come. I think it's handling things pretty realistically with how society would react to the infant stage of the apocalypse; some people think they're going insane, others treat it as a minor outbreak that will fix itself, some believe the government and authorities will handle everything, while others still believe the end of the world is happening.
I can't wait until full blown panic hits the streets and the chaotic survival the characters will have to endure. I'm excited about this new series.

Nah, I think it's because relatively few people care to constantly discuss any of the current Telltale games and I can sort of see why. GoT is mediocre and displays almost all of Telltale's worst habits and weaknesses. TftB is a lot better but it just lacks something for it to garner anywhere as dedicated a fanbase as TWDG had when it was in production. As for /lisg/, Life is Strange is so far a much better and intriguing game than anything TTG has put out in the last two years. There's genuinely a lot to discuss and speculate about.

>That's hardly a trend.
That's how it starts though. Another telltale trend is having a serious, strong female character with a dead sister in their games. First Molly, then Holly, then Jane and now Athena. There's still one episode of GOT left, wouldn't be surprised if Beskha turns out to have a dead sister as well.
>TftB is a lot better but it just lacks something for it to garner anywhere as dedicated a fanbase as TWDG
Hmm, now that you say that I wonder, what does Borderlands lack that keeps it from generating an as dedicated fanbase? Actually, I'd say that it's the Borderlands name that keeps it from gaining fans. People like the plebs on /v/ who automatically assume it's bad because it's Borderlands.

No webm and I can't grab a video at the moment, but if you told Athena to kill Cassius in episode 3, it's one of the two scenes Vaughn gets in episode 4.

I guess it was an okay set-up for a drama, but as >>28168 said, the zombie aspect was handled really poorly. I had to keep myself from shouting at the screen when the kid didn't just come out and say "I saw some girl eating someone else's flesh". He was constantly beating around the bush, talking about how he's insane and whatever – it made it incredibly hard to believe. Literally anyone would just tell it to you straight, but the writers didn't want to spill the beans, so it just came off as stupid, at least to me.
There's been worse pilot/premieres, and there's been better, and that's exactly the problem I have with this show. It's just generic. It shouldn't even have TWD in its title because it doesn't have anything to do with TWD, and it also fails to innovate as a spin-off. If you're going for a zombie drama, mix it up a little; even Romero movies were more creative in this regard. If you're going for a zombie drama, "drug-addict delinquent son" isn't a good starting point. They'd have to work quite a lot of wonders for me to care at all about the show. But hey, you never know.

Well, in his defense, he was struggling with his own demons. Just try to think what's going through his mind. Not even he knows for certain what happened. He was struggling to realize if what he saw as fact, or drug-addled fiction. He then goes on to reveal how he's afraid that if it wasn't the drugs, it was his mind and it's a scary thing to realize you're slipping sanity and slowly losing your sense of reality. It's why Robin Williams killed himself.
Like I said before, you gotta realize that this is the pilot; of course it's going to be slow. To be honest, I didn't expect to see ANY walkers in the first episode, so I was pleasantly surprised with what we got. I, for one, think the "drug-addict delinquent son" will be an interesting concept, seeing how he copes with withdrawal and trying to survive. We had Bonnie in the game, but she came into the story after her initial struggles with withdrawal. This will be a chance to see what the writers do with it.
I'm still excited to see the reaction on society when they realize the ZA is happening. All the chaos, panic, and insanity should make for some good television. With Rick and Lee, they got a slow start, awakening after the initial outbreak, but this time, we get to see it as it unfolds. Should be interesting.

It's basically a twist on a teenybopping horror film. You control eight characters through the course of it. It is possible for all eight to survive, all eight to die, and anything in between.
MOST of those deaths have to do with you making a choice in their scenario specifically, but there are a few that are tied to other things you've done and in that case this is when the relationship point system between the characters comes into play, though I think it's still underutilized for something that's an actual system.

No, it's a more traditional drawn on markers, camera close up facial capture rig. LA Noire was pretty much recorded videos playing on top of the character model geometry, to my understanding at least. I kept thinking while I was watching the show how much more interesting it would be if it took place in a different period of time. I've read WWZ and seen the beginning of TLOU. I already have a general idea of how the modern Western world would (fail to) deal with the ZA. I want to see how people and civilization 100 or a 1000 years ago would deal with ZA. Would the infection not spread as quickly due to less globalization? How would militaries and armies of the time deal with zombie hordes? What would people think was happening to the people who were turning?

To be fair, anon, the show IS clearly a different time, with its ZA starting 4+ years after the comic and video game's. All the same, it WOULD be interesting to see it take place during the Cold War. I posted here before asking about how different it would be if it took place in the 1940's and I've actually come up with several ideas for how it would be if it took place in medieval times. Zombies being referred to as monsters or ghouls, characters having time period appropriate versions of their names, and even character specific details such as what role the characters would play in a medieval universe.

No.28257
>>28256
>Care to share some of your ideas?
Of course. Lee is a black knight wanted for committing many atrocities across several kingdoms. As he's approaching a kingdom he's never been to before to pillage it, the ZA breaks out, not only allowing him to pillage the village with ease, but also the castle as the guards are scatter about the town. After easily taking out what few guards the castle has left, he finds the king and queen who he then kills after they refuse to hand over their treasures. He realizes that the princess, Clementine (Caroline) witnessed what he had done, and something happens to him that causes him to feel guilt about what he did, he regrets it, and in an attempt to atone for what he had done, he decides to take care of her. Clem very reluctantly agrees, though she doesn't forgive or trust him at first. Lee ditches his black armor for traditional armor to make him indistinguishable from other knights, and they travel through other kingdoms together trying to survive the ZA. This is just a basic outline for what the story would be like. Kenny (Kennith) and Luke (Duke) would be holymen, Chuck (Charles) would be a traveling salesman, Jane (Jade) would be an evil witch, Lee and Clem would eventually meet Robin Hood who would convince Lee to teach Clem archery, head shots wouldn't be enough to kill a zombie, only an outright removal of the head or burning the body would, I have a few more ideas but I haven't fully developed them yet.

>zombie mod for Crusader Kings 2
I should've known.
What does that mod add besides zombie portraits?
>How well do you think medieval Europe/Asia/North Africa would actually fare against the ZA .. ?
Extremely poorly. People from the lower classes already didn't have much life expectancy, add zombification and, most importantly, the fact that every dead person turns, and I doubt most of them would even survive. Without the peasants and farmers, there would be no food production, and the lack of preserved foods would doom almost everyone else. The only survivors would be those that knew how to live off the land by hunting and foraging, not farming.
However, I'd argue recovery from the ZA would happen faster than in a modern setting. If a bunch of people managed to not die for a while, they could settle in the middle of nowhere, in previously untamed land. A much lower total population count in the world back then would mean less widespread zombies and a better chance at rebuilding. And they'd have the plus that they're already used to heads rolling, they'd just have to be zombie heads this time, not those accused of witchcraft or treason.
Also, awesome castles with walls.

It takes the horde invasion mechanic that already exists in the game (from the Mongols) and slaps some zombies on it for flavor. It functions basically the same; after a certain period of time a massive stack of zombies will appear on an edge of the map, rapidly conquer nearby realms, and establish an empire. The mod also adds a trait that zombifies people, which can be useful for "turning" uppity vassals into loyal ones. I don't know if it's being updated anymore although there are a bunch of mods now add fantasy elements like that to the game.
>>28258
>Also, awesome castles with walls.
I wonder how long a castle would be able to withstand being 'sieged' by zombies. Probably not very long since people more and more would eventually starve to death and potentially turn as time passed. It could probably last a lot longer if it was supplied by sea.

You know, I've always thought a zombie apocalypse in a futuristic, sci-fi, or cyberpunk setting would be interesting to explore. I recently played though season 2 of Sam and Max and started the third season today. Season 2 has some immediate improvements that make it objectively better than season 1. When you start the game up for the first time, the COPS give you a first time startup settings thing and you can even play a tutorial. The tut is replaying the first puzzle from the first game, but with Sam explaining how to do things, and the interrogation part is easier. You can also play the game in small, or bigger resolutions than what the first game offered, so the game can look HD when playing fullscreen. Sam can now also fast walk in smaller areas and outright run in larger areas. He also keeps moving when you hold the mouse button down to keep him moving somewhere instead of having to constantly click in one spot as the camera moves. You can now also you the keyboard for movement during driving sections. The puzzles are harder in this game than the last, and season 2 also introduces my Sam & Max waifu, Stinky. Pic related. As for the episodes themselves, Season 2 starts out slower in my opinion than season 1. I'm not sure how to feel about the twist towards the end of the last episode. They retcon a bunch of shit to make it make sense, but it just seems like a humongous asspull. Overall, I'm not sure which season I think is better. I'd say that episodes 3-5 of season 2 are better than season 1 as a whole.

I used both a stun rifle and tranq whittle down her stamina. I also had D-Dog to sniff out her location. I finally knocked her out with cqc when I rushed her while she was doing her weird dance. Updated graphics and some small changes like Kenny being more lenient with how much you need to side with him in order to get him to come with you automatically in episode 4. Season 1 isn't really in need of major improvements. Season 2 on the other hand needs to be recreated from scratch. Make a completely new and different season 2 that's much better than the original, and say the original season 2 is a non-canon alternate version of events.

Yeesh, that's probably the worst game for someone new to jump into the series. Obnoxiously long cutscenes aside it's chronologically the last MGS game so Kojima tried to tie up every possible loose end from the previous ones and the result is massive, confused mess of a story. I don't hate it but it's probably the worst main MGS game.
If you decide to dive into the series again I suggest starting from MGS1 and just go by release date.
>started playing 3 but never finished…
You should give it another go and play on a lower difficulty. The controls are pretty archaic now but not insurmountable. A lot of people (like me) not only think it's the best MGS game but even one of the best games ever made.

The HD collection is a little misleading, then. It shows game selection by (in-universe) chronological order, so MGS3 is the first. I realize it's meant to be a very good game and I enjoyed what I played of it. My next gun purchase is going to be a Colt SAA clone

MGS3 is indeed good and was my favorite MG…though V is looking like it will take its place. I like Twin Snakes too, but recognize that as a remake it has a few big flaws.
MGS2 plays good, but the story is…not so great. And man the bitching about Raidan is not exaggerated. MGS4 is, in my opinion, a pretty big mess. It would actually be a pretty damn good game if it would actually let you play it, but, alas, it's mostly cutscenes.
No.28328
>>28326
MGS3's actually not a bad place to jump into Metal Gear since it's separated enough from the rest of the series to function as it's own story, has an incredible depth of gameplay options compared to other MGS games (aside from V), and has a surprisingly restrained plot that can be followed a human being. I'd still suggest starting from 1 since each game (except 3) requires you to know what happened in the last one to have any idea what's going on.

I finished season 3 of Sam & Max a few days ago. The first two seasons had self-contained episodes that were part of an overarching plot, but in this season every episode is connected to an overarching plot from the beginning. The graphics received a bit of an upgrade. The quality of the character models hasn't improved, but the game has dynamic lighting now that usually serves to give the game a darker mood, which I'll get more into in a second. The textures on the environments have also been given an upgrade to look alot more detailed than previous games and the game looks alot less bright and colorful as a result. You can now finally control Sam directly instead of having to click on the screen to where you want him to go. The game even has controller support, though honestly I didn't use it since it seemed buggy and didn't work well. You can also play as Max in this game. Sort of. Max suddenly has psychic powers and you use them to complete puzzles/progress through the game. Though when in Max mode the game is in first-person, and you can't move as you use the mouse to select the psychic powers and the keyboard to move the camera. The first two episodes I think, while not as lighthearted as the first two seasons, could be enjoyed on the same level as the first two seasons. However, once we get into episode 3, the game takes a turn for the serious. Max's brain gets stolen (there's no need to spoiler that since it's the name of the episode), and Sam goes full noir trying to get his brain back. Pic related. He kinda reminds me of Bigby in a way when this happens. The music is also once again pretty sweet, though honestly I don't find it as memorable as the first two seasons. Overall I think that despite some of it's shortcomings, the third season of Sam & Max is still a really good game. I think the last episode was unneeded as I felt the season could've ended at episode 4, and the final episode was really underwhelming, especially for a season finale. Despite that, I still think the story was good overall, though with something like Sam & Max, I prefer something lighthearted and fun rather than something dark & serious. Don't get me wrong, the game isn't completely devoid of humor or funny moments, but because of the more serious tone the game takes starting with episode 3, it can feel out of place at times.

Huh, I wouldn't have expected that from Sam & Max.
How well is the darker tone handled compared to something like TWAU? If you were to compare the two directly, what are the things each one does right?
Do you think the idea or inspiration for TWAU came partly from doing these last few Sam and Max episodes? They share sort of a similar theme, a noir story in a traditionally lighthearted universe.
I also noticed the other day I had a PC Gamer demo disc back from when I was subscribed that comes with a demo of Episode 4, Beyond the Alley of the Dolls.
I used the disc as a wheel for some car I made for school, specifically because back then I had zero interest in Telltale games

>How well is the darker tone handled compared to something like TWAU?
I think it's handled well for what it's worth, but compared to TWAU, I think TWAU does it better, because again, despite the serious tone, the game still does have its moments of humor, and tries not to take itself too seriously.
>If you were to compare the two directly, what are the things each one does right?
I like the Sam's monologues in episode 3, TWAU lacked monologues. The beginning of episode 3 has you interrogating suspects which reminds me of LA Noire. You can even accuse a suspect of lying. I think TWAU could've benefited from having more interrogations like when you investigate Mr. Toad's apartment.
>Do you think the idea or inspiration for TWAU came partly from doing these last few Sam and Max episodes?
I don't think so, but I do think that this may have been the game where they decided that they wanted to work on more serious stuff than what they had been doing previously. I think the original versions of most fairy tales are darker than what we're told as kids and what's in Disney movies anyway.
>I used the disc as a wheel for some car I made for school, specifically because back then I had zero interest in Telltale games
What made you interested in them?
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Larry's voice actor was in seasons 2 & 3 of Sam & Max, and I saw Sean Vanaman's name in the credits for episode 5 of season 3.

No, I've had a pretty good time with it. I don't doubt there have been plenty of on the flu changes (Telltale seem to have been doing this regularly post TWD S1, and even probably a bit during).

>I'm becoming increasingly of the opinion it's the producers and executives that are mainly to blame for decline in quality of Telltale's products
I was actually thinking of posting asking if you guys if it's the executives that are actually to blame for telltale's decline in quality. I wouldn't take the blame off of the writers entirely, but that would explain things like why they always appeal to the majority when it comes to choices, why episode 5 of TWDS2 was so bad in general, and why the season 2 DLC is about Michonne.
>>28383
I'm still wondering why they skipped last week. Probably to build up hype for people who actually enjoyed it.
>>28386
I'm not disappointed with it. I do think there are missed opportunities such as your choices not mattering when it comes to character interactions, but it's still a fun and enjoyable experience so the game's shortcomings are forgivable for me. Also, considering how Game of Thrones is turning out, and how TWD season 2 turned out, I'm willing to take anything from telltale that's "good enough".

In ten days it'll be our one year anniversary. Let's celebrate by having an OC contest. It's doesn't have to be anything fancy like a SFM/GMod pic or fanart. Just make something /ttgg/ related and post it on September 21st which is when we'll be one year old. Even something as simple as a greentext story will be appreciated.

>Telltale seem to have been doing this regularly post TWD S1, and even probably a bit during
There were changes in S1 during it's development but not as drastic as what Telltale does now. It was typically smaller, nuanced changes designed to make more players feel a certain way after making a decision, like regret for killing a character they didn't like.

>I was actually thinking of posting asking if you guys if it's the executives that are actually to blame for telltale's decline in quality.
I remember reading in an article (I wish I could remember which) where Kevin Bruner (Telltale CEO, former CTO) said all the final scripts go to him so he can make sure they're up to Telltale's quality standards or something along those lines. Obviously executives and producers have a say in the creative process but certain decisions that made major overhauls to S2's and TWAU's original scripts feel like they were suggested by Telltale management.
>"good enough"
That's why it bothers me so much though. Every episode after the first has been relatively mediocre and that first one is one of the most fantastic episodes Telltale has produced. If the TftB team was able to keep up that general degree of quality throughout the whole season this game would easily compete or even surpass TWDG as Telltale's best game.
>missed opportunities
Case in point there are storylines, characters arcs, relationships established in the first episode that show great potential but at some point are all dropped or replaced with weaker ones for what seems like extraneous reasons. Again I don't think the game's terrible (so far) but I'm frustrated with how many times the developers have dropped the ball, especially after they've shown what they're capable of.

If that's true then it's his fault for thinking that TWDS2 was actually passable.

To be fair to Bruner it was Dan Connors who was CEO during S2's and TWAU's development and release cycles. Connors was replaced by Bruner in January this year and was made "executive adviser" whatever that means. I wonder what that's about and if has anything to do with Telltale's sudden new ambitions.

I'm not disappointed with it because that would imply I have high expectations of it. But I do recognize the possibility for improvement.
>significant characters are continually misused or neglected
That's probably the point I agree with you on the most.

Sounds fun.
As an added motivation, I'm willing to gift a TT game to whoever's OC I like the most, if they so choose.
I wish Poker Night had multiplayer, it would be pretty fun to play poker against you all.

Speaking of FTWD, the (stated) reason the show exists is to show what the beginning of a ZA looks like right? So what is the second season going to about if it gets the greenlight? Or the third? Just a bunch of survivors walking around the wilderness like the original show but in California instead of Georgia?

>5+ different character stories of the ZA outbreak starting with each new season
I know it'll never happen but this actually sounds like a neat idea assuming they didn't just copy-paste the first season's script for each one. A new setting each time would also be cool.

What's the general opinion of Tales from the Borderlands outside of /ttgg/? I know it's generally liked but it's fanbase doesn't seem as dedicated or active as others I've been a part of.

General consensus outside of /ttgg/ from what I've seen is more or less the same here, except you have faggots who automatically dismiss it because it's a Borderlands game, and people who complain about SJW pandering. I don't know what people on TTGF think of it though.

>I wish Poker Night had multiplayer
Same. If they ever make a Poker Night 3, which I doubt, I hope multiplayer is included. Speaking of Poker Night, I actually downloaded it again to see if I could use models from it in other games. Sadly, I can't, as TWDS2 crashes upon loading the modded files, and the model is invisible in season 1. I can't use models from other games in Poker Night either.

I fully expect FTWD to get multiple seasons. The audience for this shit loves it no matter what, and it won't even matter if the show does nothing new with the formula. I'm sure there could be three or five different TWD shows running at the same time, and it wouldn't matter if they're all the same thing.

>Can you think of a few examples, and maybe what you might have wanted to be done with them?
I've mentioned a couple of these before but I would have preferred:
That Vasquez remained as Rhys's antagonist because he's perfectly characterized for that role and it would have been so damn satisfying to dethrone him ourselves. Instead he's pointlessly killed and replaced by a far less interesting villain with no connection to any of the main characters.
That Vaughn's jealousy of Rhys and frustration with being his sidekick actually played out in an interesting way and we got to see their friendship actually tested. Instead his "betrayal" is handwaved and his character is pushed into the background so Rhys's relationship with Jack could be focused on.
That Sasha's relationship with Rhys was explored and used to complicate Rhys's goal of crawling back into Hyperion's good graces by showing what effect they've had on Pandorans like her. Instead their relationship amounts to pure, meaningless fanservice and she's relegated to just being his love interest. I'm a filthy Rhysha shipper but the way their relationship played out just doesn't sit well with me.
>Sounds like the guy that actually gets everything done.
I wonder if it's one of those fake, dead-end position higher-ups are exiled to when the company doesn't explicitly want to fire them. Looking back development and release in 2014 was a clusterfuck for Telltale judging by how drastic TWAU and S2 were changed.

Was Rhysha a big thing there before episode 3? Because that would explain the direction that relationship took.

First game was made before their new approach, second one was only a year after TWD season 1. Despite this, Doug and a Savelots bandit appear in the second game's intro. That's about it. I mentioned this before, but Larry was originally supposed to be in the game, but he was cut for some reason.

Rhysha was popular after the very first episode, but episode 2 saw an explosion of Rhiona shipping, and that thread quickly became one of the biggest if not the biggest on the site. Suffice to say they are rather…discontented with the way the series has turned out.

Unless they decided to inject her with her old personality I can only imagine how dull her dialogue (and voice) would be.

My own biases aside, am I the only kind of baffled by this ship?

I recently discovered a significant chunk of the tumblr fanbase hates Sasha now because of this, except with Rhaugn and Rhack.
