No.7044
>>7041The problem with that DLC wasn't that it was "controversial", it because it was a story that didn't need to be told. It'd be like making a DLC where you play as Lee when he finds out his wife was cheating on him. We know the story already, why make a game around it?

>>7054Aaw anon that's so sweet! but as this anon said
>>7055 I just put whatever date when signing up. It's very nice of you though, I appreciate it :^)
No.7059
>>7056Yes. One of the problems I have with season 2 is that Clementine is portrayed to be a near omnipotent being who can handle anything.
She's just a little girl, there's limits to what she can do and having emotional breakdowns would be more realistic and show that she's not an invincible super being that cannot be killed. It would also show that she has a range of emotions that range beyond disinterested and depressed.
No.7060

No.7062
>>7058Well I'm wishing you a happy birthday anyway, whenever that is.
>>7061There's a difference between being hardened and being omnipotent. Clementine is capable of way more than she realistically should be. It's incredibly jarring the difference is between S1 Clem, one of the most realistic portrayed child characters in media, and S2 Clem, an unbelievably capable child character.
No.7063
Why go on living?
No.7064
>>7062Considering who she was rolling with for the last "two years" or so, it's not surprising she hardened up considerably.
No.7065
>>7064Not the anon you're replying to, but okay, I'll give you that. Still, hardened or not, she's still capable of more than she should be, and survives things that should very obviously kill her.
No.7066
>>7065Arguably Lee survived a lot of shit that should have killed him. It's all about that plot armour, anon.
No.7067
>>7063Like I said, it isn't just that she's hardened up, it's how much she's hardened. It's not just a problem with her though, most of the new characters just seem to be able to shrug off the awful shit that's happened to them and their friends. That's a big problem. It alienates the player from the characters when they don't seem to react to situations the way human beings normally would.
No.7068
>>7066That's the difference. With Lee you can use the word "arguably" there. With Clementine, she would be dead if she wasn't the player character.
No.7069
>>7067Well, that's what the zombie apocalypse does to you. It happened to Carl too.
No.7070
>>7066Yet he still died. That's the crux of this whole thing. In the span of 24 hours Clem fell into a frozen lake, got shot almost point-blank by a rifle, survived a car crash, and trudged through a severe blizzard without apparently suffering any serious permanent injuries either physically, mentally, or emotionally. I am no longer allowed to be shocked or concerned when she suffers an injury, because I know she can just shrug it off.
No.7071
>>7069I'm just gonna go ahead and say it: I don't care how much they've hardened, a character who can shrug off everything thrown at them is a boring character. Protagonists absolutely need vulnerabilities, it's part of what make us care about their plight. If they can just easily push aside the perils of their journey, then why should the player/audience/reader/etc. care?

Anybody planning to make any OC for Thanksgiving?
No.7147
>>7146I'm from Europe so I don't know shit about Thanksgiving. I plan on trying to do some sketches for Christmas though, maybe get a drawing tablet or a bunch of drawing supplies.
No.7148

No.7149
>>7147You don't really need to know anything about Thanksgiving to make Clem OC for it. Just draw Clem sitting at a table that's got a whole bunch of food on it, eating it with people that she cares about.

>>7148It involves food so it can't be THAT shit.

Speaking of food, what are you anons having for dinner and do you think Clem would have liked it?

>>7152I had a bowl of oatmeal. It was sufficient. I think Clem likes oatmeal.

>>7154Oatmeal? For dinner? Odd, but okay.
Personally, I had pork ribs. They were pretty okay, I'm sure Clem would like pork as most people do (except from people in religions that don't allow for it and vegetarians/vegans, I suppose.)

>>7179True, but that also means she won't be getting a proper education.
No.7181
>>7180Well, besides surviving, Clem would have very little to pass the time. She could probably read some books to get a bit of an education. It would still be pretty limited, but better than nothing. There's very little reason to learn, say, calculus, during the ZA.
No.7182
>>7181True but still, you never know what could be useful to know in the ZA.

>>7194Take your time anon. We don't have to worry about the thread getting pruned so don't feel pressured for time.
>>7195Well I know it's going to start after a hypothetical ending where Clem is with Kenny, but left AJ at Wellington. So unless that's how you were to start your fanfic, I don't know if using your beginning would work.
No.7198
>>7197Nope, mine wouldn't work at all. Mine was based on the "Clem blackmails you for rations" and the idea was that most of the group was still alive in an alternate timeline.

>Assuming AJ survives into childhood, what kind of caretaker/guardian/mentor will your Clementine be to him?Clem has the advantage (if you can call it that) of living a large part of her life after the ZA. She knows what works and what doesn't, and my Clem would probably make sure AJ knows everything he needs to about survival. AJ was born and presumably raised at great cost to Clem and the others, so making sure she doesn't lose AJ would be Clem's top priority. A big part of this could be considered social engineering, since Clem has been with several people and knows how to massage social situations into something that might benefit her.
Overall, I don't think Clem would be a caretaker or motherly figure to AJ; she'd be more of a mentor.
