>OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth, that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers. Am I the only one who wants to see the world in these games expand and change? For example, say a few years pass and the first inklings of a new, expansive post-apocalyptic society start to pop up. Not necessarily a 'civilized' society, mind you, but one where settlements like Wellington start to come in contact and communicate with each other. Trade becomes established and a new crude bartering economy appears. Lone scavengers and big settlement caravans alike start to travel between settlements and sell important stuff like medicinal supplies, metal scrap, and weaponry and the like, and large bandit and raider groups start to form to take advantage of this. The story could be about Clementine finding her place in this new violent, complex world, and not just purely focused on surviving.
Yeah, I know Kirkman wouldn't allow such a big change to his universe unless he does it in his comics first, but let me dream.

Hmm, I just did a little research.
Clem could have survived a shot to the shoulder if it missed the subclavian artery/vein. However, it would most likely hit her clavicle bone or a rib unless it was rotated at some angle, which is somewhat plausible.
That being said, the shoulder is probably one of the best locations to get shot. No vital organs, just a bunch of muscle.

>However, it would most likely hit her clavicle bone or a rib unless it was rotated at some angle, which is somewhat plausible. What about her shoulder blade? It seems unlikely the bullet could have missed that.
Also, she didn't just survived getting shot nearly point-blank by a rifle without receiving any medical attention, she was able to move her arm just fine. She could even carry a baby.
No.8385
>>8384Dangit, I meant shoulder blade, not clavicle.
But yeah, I'm not doubting that it's incredibly unlikely she'd be able to use her arm for several days afterwards. However, the rifles used in TWD games always struck me as being smaller bore, maybe like a .223. I'd rather get shot with a .223 FMJ than a 30-06 or similar hunting caliber.

If Telltale were to expand and build the world in their Walking Dead series, what would you like to see explored?
For example (and this is just one example), say in a future season you play as Clementine in a huge Wellington-like settlement and it's obvious a significant chunk, if not most, of the season will take place there. What about this environment would you like to see explored? The day-to-day life of the people living there? The outside threats and inner conflict? The struggle of maintaining this haven in a hellish world? How Clem and AJ are affected by (or influence) all this?

Will Clem have to struggle to be taken seriously? Or will this settlement expect more from children than what they might be capable of for the sake of their society's survival?
No.8470
>>8469As hopeless and dark as it may sound, I really don't think there's hope for Clementine to remain a child in this world. She's just been trough too much, there's no way in hell she can bury everything and act like a little kid (worrying about studying, playing with kids her age, doing easy chores, etc). I'd see that working for someone like Sarah, but definitely not for Clementine.
I can see her doing her best to keep AJ as safe and innocent as possible though.
No.8471
>>8470If she ends up in a settlement where they treat children the way they were treated pre-apocalypse I could see her struggling to reintegrate into society and trying to get herself taken seriously. On the other end of the scale, though, she could end up in a harsh society where everyone, including children, is expected to make sacrifices for the settlement and Clem is pressed into forced labor or even soldiery.

The deaths would be hanlded like in the show, I guess. Once someone dies you gotta stab the head and give them a proper burial. And a weekly community check (assuming they're not more that 150-200 people) shouldn't be much of a problem, to ensure they're not infected or sick.
That's how I imagine Wellington. But I don't doubt there are other, less civilized communities. Negan comes to my head, he was a relentless motherfucker whose people lived in constant fear, and that's what "ended" him.
Communities where only the strongest survivors get to live or communities where democracy and team work is the rule…it's an interesting topic, really.
