How many tulpae do you all have?
You don't need to put names down, I just want your gender and then how many of each gender tulpae you have.
You know, for science.
I'll start.

Male, I have 1 female tulpa, but she often splits into 3 different bodies and controls them all simultaneously. I have no idea how she does it but when she splits they can have distinct personalities too. So I don't know whether to count this as 1 or 3. She embraces her multiplicity but she likes it to be known that she's ultimately one person.

I'm male, 1 female Tulpa.
No offense to anyone having more than one of course but I don't understand people having say more than 3 Tulpas (I've seen some with 7 or even 9).
3 really is the maximum I think I/we could "manage". It'll probably not happen though. My Tulpa and I talked about this a few times and from the look of it we'd rather stay together anyway. On the other hand we have a bunch of servants we're using for various things, but they're not sentient and we're careful to not let them be.
Who knows though.

Not really. Two of them entertain each other which leaves me with Slutty McSlut on the left here. As for getting to know them, it's sort of a continuous thing, but I feel like I've gotten much more familiar with them over the past few years.

It's hard to imagine myself really having an intimate or meaningful relationship with someone who could fit into what I assume is an anime-like archetype of that type. In the sense that, while in anime it's easy to represent someone as being a personality-caricature of this, that, or the other, in real life individuality is more complicated than that; you can't get away with some of the things you 'can' in anime. Because once you remove the fantasy element, things become 'too real;' things aren't as cute, simple, or pretty as they can be portrayed as when they don't have to function in a longterm reality context. For example, in anime, tsundere is cute and silly. But the second you have a real person try and emulate that archetype, it's just not cute anymore, because there is this whole other dimension of their person behind it, which motivates that behavior. So, I've felt like, if I tried to create a tulpa of that type, it would be hard to believe in it, because I would always be seeing contradictions in the personality concept. This explanation has been alot wordier than I thought it would be, but do you see what I'm saying? How do you cope with that?

I don't really see them as caricatures anymore, even if they used to be like that years ago. My girls are all unique multifaceted people with their own likes/interests/hobbies, which is mostly thanks to me giving them a lot of opportunity to find out for themselves what they enjoy and giving them space to go do it.
When I was younger they weren't so complex, and I guess I thought of the whole tulpaforcing thing as escapism rather than creating a sentient being in your head or whatever. So they fit into all these anime archetypes or whatever pretty easily.

For me, there is a solution of sorts. My tulpa "pretends" as though she has certain personalities. While she technically has a inner true personality (kind, sweet, loving, smart), she likes to act out different exaggerated anime-like behaviors, such as tsundere, overly cutesy, etc. Sometimes it's necessary to ask her to be serious for a second and put away her act, but most of the time it's perfectly fine to role play like this. She's a fantastic actor, beyond human capabilities i'd say, and it's really easy to get lost in the different personalities she explores. Some might feel that it's not as genuine or appealing this way, but to me I like to see it as though she's exploring different sides of herself for fun. Not like she's pretending to be something she isn't. She wouldn't act out a personality unless some portion of her wanted to. Hope this sorta helps. I don't know how easy it would be to recreate a tulpa with the intention of her being passionate about acting like this, but maybe just keeping it in mind might be enough to make it work.

Very interesting. I wasn't really expecting that my disillusion could be ameliorated so thoroughly. What do you think would happen if you embarked, for a long period of time, to only interact with your tulpa in a direct way, strictly without the medium of an archetype?
9c77ef No.13330
>>13328
She would be alright i'd imagine, albeit a bit upset that she cannot express herself fully. In a way, "acting" is her true nature. She's a bundle of emotions and she loves experimenting with exaggerated archetypes. So, in a way, it "is" her personality. It's definitely a handful, but I love it thoroughly and find it extremely fun playing along. She changes forms like clothing, though she'll refer back to her "default" form if she has a serious concern. I'd say about half the time she's role playing, and the other half she's being serious with whatever is going on in my life. I might experiment with your proposal at some point but I don't think it's necessary. She's safe, loved, is given plenty of attention, and appears to be very well adjusted despite her behavior exploration.

Male 5 female tulpae
2 were accident, and 1 "came back"i'm not going to explain that one again, look through the catalog if it's still there
Why all female? cause I feel more comfortable with women than men.
Also, while i'm not happy with having so many, or even having more than 1 since i'm a monogamous person. I don't want to get rid of any of them as I feel they're equal and I enjoy their presence. Besides, they spend time with each other more so than I can spend with them, so it would be devastating for everyone to have one of their own vanish (as if that will happen) for selfish reasons
If you want more than 2-3, or even more than 1. Take it from me, don't. You won't be able to have a quality relationship with everyone. Just compromises and disappointment.

Guys are generally so much more chill about things, and they don't let emotions consume them like girls do. It's bad enough that I have to deal with my own ridiculous emotions, I didn't want to double that. This is also why I didn't have any female friends until 5th grade, and even then I kept wishing I was hanging out with boys instead because all the girls ever did was gossip, and gossip makes me physically sick. I know I could have made a girl tulpa that acted like a boy, but I wanted a boy cause it made me feel safer. And considering the status of our relationship I'd say it was a good call.

I've had the same servants for over a year now and none of them appear sentient in any way. They never surprise me or appear out of nowhere, there is only my Tulpa's aura near me throughout the day.
My point is if you're careful this shouldn't normally happen. Now if you're interacting with them a lot and on a daily basis then yes… but in this case wouldn't that make them Tulpas to begin with? Where is the line in the end?

Even if it is in my head then that doesn't make it any less real to me.
