I actually like this show even though Farscape would technically be the better show since they came out at around the same time. The first and second season are good. I even liked the the last 2 seasons, not because they were better but because it was different. Felt more like side stories than anything. Final season was more parody than previous seasons though from what I remember. I remember there was a reality show Survivor parody in it somewhere.

Well BSG is a soap opera in space so it's out immediately.
SG-1 is the better show overall and has maybe a handful of shit episodes. TNG has 1-2 entire seasons that are hardly watchable and a good number of duds even in the later seasons. If we compare only the best episodes from each show it's more equal.
Arguably TNG has more classical science fiction episodes though. SG-1 is military science fiction which some place lower.

I recently rewatched SG-1, Atlantis, TNG and the remake of Battlestar Galactica and out of them Battlestar Galactica was easily the best show but not the best sci-fi and the final few episodes were pretty rushed and awkward. Other than those it was a legitimately great show, especially everything to do with the performance of James Callis which made Gaius Baltar the best character on the show who did nothing wrong. It also pulled off the tense moment scenes perfectly.
SG-1 was a close second for best show and the first for best sci-fi because it has an excellent blend between serious sci-fi, silly action adventure and cheeky taking the piss humor, it deteriorates once MacGuyver leaves since the guy who replaces him is pretty fucking bland, fortunately Amanda Tapping is replaced with Claudia Black who was a lot better which made up for some of the loss from MacGuyver not being a star on the show anymore.
Tied for last would be Atlantis and TNG, which was surprising to me because until rewatching it I had remembered TNG as being one of the best shows I've watched but on rewatching it I realized that it had a lot more boring and pointless filler garbage than I remember. Another thing I forgot was just how many shitty scenes with Wesley and Troi there were which dragged several episodes down so fucking hard I can't believe I didn't remember it until rewatching the show.
