Not surprised about this graph, but I do wonder how accurate these can truly be.

I mean, people who grow tired of a show tend to stop watching, so only the hardcore fans remain, and they will vote high. I wouldn't be surprised if most shows have increasing graphs.

The low-rated anomalies at the beginning are the Clip Show eps, hardly a surprise there.

That really low rated one towards the end of the graph is the Gaga episode, again not a surprise in the least.

According to IMDB, the two greatest episodes of all time are ironically the two episodes that immediately precede the one that broke the fanbase for good (Principal and the Pauper).

The highest rated episodes after S9 are:

>Trilogy of Error (S12E18) - 8.6/10

>Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind (S19E09) - 8.2/10

>Holidays of Future Passed (S23E09) - 8.2/10

>Barthood (S27E09) - 8.3/10

And those would only place in the middle of the pack when you look at how well the first eight seasons ranked, which goes to show how the quality dropped over time.

I've been using this website for a while to help me watch the best episodes of shows that have 10+ seasons. You can generally tell the quality of a season by how consistent the ratings between episodes are in a given season. If the episodes are grouped together it's probably a better quality season than a season that has erratic episode ratings.

4th season was mostly the same formula (sometimes monster of the week, sometimes plot), but had a massive story change. 5th season throws everything but the characters out the window. I hated that. The ending was fine, but I wish they hadn't changed the show so much after season 3.
