Because generally people like what they see and want to see more, even if it's of worse quality than the rest of the show. I can't think of a single show where the first season was better than the following season.

Good point. I will agree that Breaking Bad is better than Better Call Saul at this point, though it's really too early to judge for sure. Better Call Saul hasn't really even settled into a main plot yet. It's mostly been essentially side stories and some character drama so far.

Not really. If you'd watched it from the beginning instead of powering it through Netflix you'd realize that.

With Breaking Bad they're cooking meth. There's a lot more potential for shit to happen, and despite that the first two seasons were mostly slow as fuck character development.

With Saul, it's a fuck-up from Illinois turning into a smooth talking 'criminal' lawyer.

The point of filler is that you don't remember it after the show is over.

From what I do remember Season 1 is mostly ok (though if anything a little too fast to draw in viewers, a little build up doesn't hurt). Season 2 is where shit starts being drawn out excessive.

When I tried rewatching I got maybe halfway through S2 before it bored me while I never noticed the filler the first time around.

I can't seem to find many though you wouldn't expect needless scenes to be there in the first place or be popular and so easily found even if they exist. If I can be arsed later I'll go dig them up.

They should have sticked to their original plan and get complete new characters each season instead of realing on the used ones.
