This guy has to be the greatest action star of my lifetime. My older cousins used to mail-order his Hong Kong movies and watch them with us.
I was about 8 when he broke the western market. I can't watch many of his films without a smile on my face. It just sucks when they try to get him to do serious acting except in the Karate Kid remake, where he carries a movie I would have hate otherwise.

He was a cool guy.
Nowadays he hates democracy, specifically in Hong Kong, Taiwan and America, and thinks China should just take over everything.

And Charlie Chaplin was a turbo commie. I still enjoy his films.

Still the best. Amazing stunts, believable effects, and actual humor in action film. It's a shame when he went to Hollywood though.

Could be partially due to some Chinese bureaucrats breathing down his neck to ensure he doesn't say anything anti-China in case he still wants to do movies as he's been doing. in China.

There are worse masters to fellate for the chance to make movies than nationalistic tyranny pretending to be communist while pissing on Mao's grave.

I don't know. Rumble in the Bronx is my favourite one of his films, and the first couple of movies he made after going to the western market were good too.
A lot of the charm of his old Hong Kong stuff has been lost though, I'll admit.

Dude, Drunken Master is God Tier stuff.
I've watched a bunch of very early Chan movies, before he gained the style he's known for. The fighting is absolutely brutal. It makes me a bit sad we'll never see something like Drunken Master, Wheels on Meals or Project A, but he's old as shit and tired of almost dying all the time. He's a fairly good dramatic actor.

Also, there's no one to really "Take over the mantle" of Jackie Chan. Tony Jaa was great in the one Ong Bak movie I saw, but he doesn't seem to do much. Jet Li kind of sucks.

I started noticing he was getting a little crazy around the time he still had his cartoon show. Some of the shit he said after each episode made very little sense. Only got worse as the years passed. Best to just remember the good times.

I made thread about JC in /tv/ sometimes before and someone posted that China's government got him by the balls when they arrested his son for drug usage and that's why he allows them to use him in propaganda shit. Can anyone confirm that?

If that turns out to be true I owe Jackie a huge apology. If not, well then to the Gulag with him.

His only flaw is his opinions on the PRC/politics.
That obviously doesn't make his movies any worse (and none of them have been Hero-tier propaganda thankfully) but it's there.
