SeraBros 04/27/15 (Mon) 05:32:31 ddb29d No. 4967

I've always envisioned Tower Knight as a "Final Boss" of some sort, doubling both as a gargantuan enemy and a level unto itself, being a fortress with feet. I haven't thought much into the specifics, or even thought much into how this would fit in the currently established pseudo-storyline we got here. All I know is that fighting some city-sized mecha knight of stone and mortar by climbing into it and taking on the challenges that deck it's unholy halls to stop it's rampage would be badass as FUCK.
What if the Grand Tower Kingdom WAS the Tower Knight?? Maybe I should draw this.

Maybe if Dragon Queen is triggered she shows up all pissed at her daughters because they gave up on the princesses to live with a knight, so she turns their kingdom into a massive tower knight to go kidnap all the princesses in the land over again.
So the party climbs Tower Knight dungeoncrawler-style and fight a DQ Final Boss. In this take, TK is more like a final dungeon of sorts.

Anonymous 06/02/15 (Tue) 04:56:55 e203a3 No. 5276
YAY! I finally found the newest Knight Thread!
Okay, so, has the 'princess Knight' been created yet? I saw Valkyrie knight was created, but of course there is gonna be some of us girls that want to be more than just valkyrie knight.
Granted, I was going to steal boy princess first, so I could technically turn any of the knights chosen into a girl…..
ANYWAYS! Has there been any other female knights proposed other than valkyrie? If not, I'll give a shot at it.
((I have to make one for girls who want to captu-er…I mean, 'save' the cute boy princesses….for…reasons. <3))
Anonymous 06/03/15 (Wed) 06:27:56 eae89d No. 5284
This is fantastic, and I'd like to present an idea. Forgive the clunky formatting, art is not my strong suit.
Leper Knight is a very courtly knight, designed to embody the true esprit d'chevalier. Unfortunately, they are also dying from leprosy. Fortunately, this renders them immune to pain! Unfortunately, that is because they will die, in-game, unavoidably, and soon.
My idea was that a player choosing Leprosy Knight would already have a relationship with the Princess in question, or at least of them. Leprosy Knight has better then average stats, but their ability is actually, well…
I'd like to make it a bit more cruel, perhaps while keeping them alive and in play. Suggestions for balance would be appreciated.
Fluff-wise, their colours are fool's gold, white, and silver. They wear an ornate mask, possibly different depending on Leprosy Knight's gender. (I was actually mulling over the idea that male Leprosy Knight has a very feminine mask and vice versa.)
Their sword is simple, slightly rusted and dulled, and their shield is common-place, but large and effective; both with some brand or insignia, faded with time and use. Both have grips to lock in place, should Leprosy Knight… Lose access to a limb during battle.
Personalitywise, Leprosy Knight is truly in love with the Princess they rescue. They are charming, good-natured, a little poetic, and wryly humorous about their lot in life. Negatively, they agonize over the fact they are physically incapable of showing their love. Giving/taking the d is beyond them, and despite their efforts to hide it, they sometimes wonder if their love would not be happier with another.
Smells really pleasant too, until you take a deep breath and realize half of their body is already putrefying.
>>5276
No idea if there's been a Princess Knight, but Leprosy Knight is player-dependent. The advantage of having a knight sealed in essentially a mobile coffin.
I'd be interested in seeing a Princess Knight, so throw together what comes to mind. I actually have a few in mind myself, but first I would like to hear reaction to Leprosy Knight, and figure out how to make them work within the setting before getting ahead of myself. I look forward to seeing your ideas!
Anonymous 06/03/15 (Wed) 08:09:10 e203a3 No. 5287
>>5284
Oh good! I'll give a shot then! I'm thinking something in blue, maybe similar to Saber from Fate/Knight or the like.
As for Leprosy Knight….huh, kinda sounds like an almost zombie knight. And there are some possible ways to 'save' him:
-Worshipping Zombie Princess' idol would keep him from 'dying from disease' of which Leprosy is, and it counts for citizens, and I'm pretty sure if you're the one ruling the place you're a citizen.
-Skeleton Princess' Dorian Painting, since it says conditional immortality, and gives no conditions so probably a 'you choose' condition
-Golem Princess' Clockwork heart, though you'll be a robot.
-Harpy Princess' Pheonix Ashes, though now you're a harpy after you die.
-Rabbit Princess Lust bonus, though…now you're a rabbit person and incest.
-Vampire Princess can turn you into a vampire
-Psysicker can get rid of one of those negatives on your card technically.
So, I think he's an interesting idea atleast!
Nicotine Knight 06/03/15 (Wed) 08:39:15 eae89d No. 5288
>>5287
Blue is a good colour. We also need more shades of it, as it seems to be surprisingly underrepresented in terms of the flavour text colours, who woulda thunk?
I actually wanted to give Leprosy Knight a more interesting weapon, because some of the choices have been really clever (Trickster Knight, I'm looking at you) or nods of the head to mythology, but felt a simple weapon was better fluff.
Ability wise, I actually came up with a good conditional crunch that wouldn't lock the player into choosing a handful of options, but might be too much to fit on the card.
- Attack, Prowess, Stamina all max
- Every time you're in a situation that tests an ability, lower that ability by one at the end.
- If multiple abilities are tested in a single scene, lower the one used more frequently, or last.
- The process can be halted or reversed with treatment or abilities.
- Leprosy Knight has no special abilities besides high starting stats.
Haha, part of the charm for me is a character that is doomed to a chivalrous death, for that is what I'm weak against. But that's more crunch for the evening then my brain can handle right now. Thanks for the feedback, hopefully I can return the favour later!

Ahhh darn, why can't there ever be like an edit function on these things, I post and then think of something else I meant to say XD

And maybe something along Dark Saber's look
http://www.otakuhouse.com/images/2010/03/fate-stay-night-dark-saber-figma.jpg
Cause seriously, fighting in a dress, looks pretty and all, but I've done it and it's a pain. I MUCH prefer pants or short skirts. There's a reason kilts were short for warriors.
I'm still torn between pink and blue since blue is an awesome color, but I don't want her coming out looking like Knight Princess' double.
Though that would be kinda hilarious an idea, Knight Princess, you can save or instead of be the damsel in distress, bust yourself out with your grandfather's sword and start running through the tower saving everyone XD

Nah, I want their armour to look hale and strong. The sort of dependable person you can rely on, if they weren't dying!… Ceremonial-looking. I'm heavily inspired by Baoduin IV, but also of crusades-era art in general. I might throw some references around if an artfriend is interested.
>>5345
My apologies to replying to different posts of yours, but I feel it's more conductive to replying to different points/questions you have. In our history, there is actually a precedent for thick fur/heavy armoured coats/robes that had skirts - long ones, too - that men used up until the Victorian era, though mostly only the peasantry and lower-nobility.
Keep in mind they were designed mostly for cold-weather though, and in the normal months soldiers generally just wore clothes or piecemeal armour.
Depending on what you're doing, I also strongly recommend looking at the armour in things such as Dark Souls; the design for practical armour is quite good. As for armour colour, I think we're missing an especially bright shade of blue, anyway.
>>5358
Just make sure her actual face is hidden by a helmet! If we see actual face, that's like #1 on the list of knightly sins! Sounds solid, though, that actually makes me want to err towards rosen-pink for her text colour…

No worries, I understand.
As for dresses, I have never heard of those! Send me some links of it, I'd like to see it! As for me, I was fighting in a dress that definitely was NOT for fighting. Had I had a gun or something, I would have been fine, but this was a damn sword in a renaissance noble lady dress. You can DO it, I did manage to win the fight, but that's because the guys didn't expect me to know how to properly use a sword (most people don't expect a lot of the things I can do, I can hunt, fish, sword-fight, staff-fight, dress and butcher any animal I kill (Both in field and hanging), I know how to survive in various wildernesses, ride horses, drive a tractor, handle cattle, woodworking, ect. XD)
I'm also kinda glad they gave me a katana and not a broadsword, broadswords make me swing so hard that I'm particularly clumsy and slightly off-balance, but I'm okay with katanas.
-waves hand- anyways, what I meant was from my own personal experience, fighting in a dress is hard and SUCKS. I suppose if it was shorter and didn't have so many petticoats and whatnot underneath, and no corset, fighting would have been easier, but still, it's a pain in the butt. I much prefer fighting in pants (I've never tried in hakamas so I wouldn't know about those)
No worries about hiding her face, I already have something planned for that >D Dark Saber has a nice kind of guard that is reminiscent of a knight's helm that I plan to use for ideas. Bright Blue makes me kinda leery, so maybe a rosey-pink color would be nice….
I just have to work with her hair some if I go with that, red-hair is such a touchy color!! XD

Dress isn't quite the right word; I'd use armoured robe. The style was a mix of lamellar armour inherited mostly from Altaic people:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/44/Koryak_armor.jpeg
Meaning that armour would compose of a winter coat over a long, flowing robe, and armoured depending on the wealth or station of the soldier.

If you want to watch a movie that combines chivalry and pure beauty, I recommend Alexander Nevsky. It also features a (fantastical) version of the design I speak of, worn by Vasilissa (a woman, instead of the male fighters linked above.)

I only hunt with a crossbow, occasionally. I'm impressed! Anyway. Hopefully that gives you some more ideas.

And it does! And I guess you could theoretically claim that fighting in a long tunic could be considered close to fighting in a dress or in a talbard (granted that usually was cut on the sides with more allowing of movement but I I digress)
Now seems to be my biggest problem. What's the best weapon for a girl knight? A spear? A sword? I don't wanna do bow and arrow because that's so cliche for the 'woman' parts in games (Which I will NEVER understand considering how much power you need to handle bows and crossbows for notching back. Any girl that can do that should have the muscles for any sword.)
I could do an axe for the age old joke of 'my wife/gf/SO is an old battle-axe'….I've never tried axe fighting myself though.
Lastly, I'm thinking on stats she'd be one of the faster knights because she's smaller and possibly wearing lighterweight metal for ease of motion. Her stamina and strength would be about average, her 'charm' would be kinda low since it's her own 'special kind of charm' and I think her wit would be high, because you have to be pretty smart to fight knights and enemies that probably have longer lasting stam and str against you.

He's based on the Landsknechts, predominantly German mercenary soldiers from the 14-15th century era, whose savage power on the battlefield was matched only by their flamboyance. They are infamous for the part they played in the Sacking of Rome, in which they invaded and pillaged Rome, under whom they were previously employed, because Rome wouldn't cough up the dough.
I'm hoping to carry over the trademark loyalty to gold, as well as their colorful swagger, over to this new knight, whom I'm calling Merc Knight.
Though honestly, I think I might actually need LESS colors. Maybe? Dunno.
SeraBros 06/07/15 (Sun) 06:44:50 ddb29d No. 5414
Another thing the Landsknechts were known for; their bulging, difficult-to-ignore codpieces.

Bulging…..codpieces……
*pounces on Merc knight*
Hm…I think I could take off the neck collar piece, since it keeps bringing up the idea of jester to me, maybe one of those frill ring necks they had in the Elizabethian era? But otherwise, I think the coloration is fine, it's not overly powerful because it's sort of a dulled version of the color. If you were coming at me with like orange and neon yellow, then I'd probably be like 'noooooo!' but these look fine to me.
*currently chaining up Merc Knight for her harem* I'll be taking this knight for um…..science! FOR SCIENCE!!!

Looks like a badass Alpine merc, what isn't to love? To be fair, I found the flourish of the Landsknechts to be very cool - perhaps he has a supply of flashy explosives and the like in addition to that Chaos Zweihander..?
Something to do with gold, obviously. The more wealth you have, the better Merc Knight is, perhaps? To balance it, since most players will accumulate a lot of wealth, perhaps Merc Knight loses power every time his Kingdom purchases something not related to the cause of battle. I have no clue how to balance it, maybe just have his attacks get stronger after having acquired new wealth.

I don't know if you got to the 'Battle on the Ice' but you'll notice both Nevsky and Vasilissa wear hauberks with slit robes over normal, padded ones. Really wish I knew the proper armour term for it.
As for weapons… Go nuts. This is a setting with Cardboard Knight, Slime Princess, and DPIII with her imaginary friend. I highly doubt anyone will focus on the 'girliness' of a weapon, though since it's Princess Knight, I feel something Princess-y would be appropriate. Like an armoured parasol or a sceptre…
Maybe it's gigantic and gilded. Rod of Rulership, or something. And you see, Princess Knight had a big family, all jockeying for the throne, but - now she's an only child, ahahaha. (Heavily agree about crossbows, btw. Have not used any other kind, but I know from a friend that the longbow requires great upper-arm strength as well.)
Again - try to imagine what you want for Princess Knight, not what experience has lead you to. Like - I'd figure, what *feel* do you want to have regarding her weapon? Is it funny? Intimidating? Badass? All of the above, something else..? Then try to think of something like that.
There are also lots of unique/semi-legendary mythological weapons. Perhaps she wields Joyeuse, legendary sword of the King of Franks himself, Charlemagne! It would go with kind of a 'Saber-y' feeling, if I remember Fate at all.
Statwise sounds great to me - again, you can pretty much justify anything you like here. My rule of thumb is - if it fits the character, it's probably good!
>>5411
Derp, and here you mention them a moment later. I was feeling so proud of instantly knowing that feathered hat when I saw it… Looking at your redraw… I like the colours of the first more, but I think the latter is easier on the eyes and more stylistically in line with the game.

Hmmm…….I'm thinking maybe alittle change to her armor and 'skirt' maybe a chainmail one.
I'm torn between a Battleaxe or a scepter-hammer thing. Parasols are too girly for this character, I'm thinking she's more of a tomboy who was bored of the whole 'princess-lady-like' thing and didn't want to sit around and wait for her parents to marry her off to some fop or something. So she taking her destiny in her own hands, hoping that saving some princesses she might be able to make her own kingdom and possibly come across a decent knight she can call a companion. (or a few cute boy-princesses she can dominate and make herself a cute boy harem.)
Either that or she's a princess that one of the dragon princesses stole, but rather wait around like dork, she broke herself out of her tower and beat all the monsters and decided to save the other princesses so she could prove she could be an independent woman and great Queen on her own.

Also, omg! Yay! здравствуйте! That's about all the Russian I know XD;;
As for crossbows, oh my LORD yes. The longbow is a total feat of strength. Broadswords are about being able to handle the weight while in motion, where as with bows, especially primitive bows, that's all about upper body strength and having the intense control of holding yourself still with all that weight your holding back. I liken it to about….holding back a large dog that's trying to lunge forwards. The one I had was just a 100 pound pull, and after like 3 pulls, my arms were shaking! Oh I was sore! I told myself if I ever do bow-hunting I'd go for a compound, so much easier once you get past the pull point. Crossbows I liked but the set up kinda annoys me since I usually hunt from single seat deer-stands, so settling it for a re-load using my feet is kinda hard. I'll stick to my bullets and rifles XD
A legendary weapon might be a good idea….
Also, they aren't the only ones, I think the Beef-eaters take some of the style in their uniforms around the Tower of London. Renaissance, gotta love poofy clothes and tights!

OH! Crude I forgot one other possibility! XD
Okay, so the other idea is that Princess Knight is fighting through these dungeons because she's looking for a certain someone, who decided to leave her behind to have adventure and find girls while she had to take of the slack of work they left behind. Finally, with all orders set for while she's gone, Princess Knight sets out to find the missing someone and beat the living tar out of them and drag them back home!!
((Said person could be a father/brother/lover/friend/boss/ect. XD Heck, she could be a knight sent by the Dragon Queen to find her wayward daughters!))
So what do you guys think for backstory? Which sounds more fun?
Princess Knight 06/08/15 (Mon) 16:36:22 e203a3 No. 5453
Since no-one's answered on her possible 'backstories'
I've also decided to go in a different direction with her armor. I kept looking at her last night and I just didn't like the design I came up with, it just looked….too much like Saber.
So instead, I went back to searching, and found 3 other influences I think will work better.

I like the designs of these 'princess armors'. Add some ribbons and maybe a full visor with the tiara-helm. I'm still going back and forth on if I should give her a full helm or let her hair out.
I do know she'll be using a beautiful Princess Battle-axe-scepter. Because battle-axes are awesome and though I never tried fighting with them myself, I still find them beautiful (I really should try to get a hold of one to try, I've used axes in survival and basic farm upkeep, but never in 'battle' form.)

Sorry, I intended to give some feedback ^^U Anyways, I suggest you keep the background as vague as possible if you go for the "looking for someone" one. Leave it up to the imagination who could that someone be. Well… how about she got captured but is in the process of breaking out? Could even make one of the cons be "adventure starts in captivity". Just a suggestion.
The armor of the first link sure looks interesting. If you intend to do something along those lines, I say go fot it! :D

Hrrrrrrrrmn.
We need more axe users, and I like the contrast. Besides, that makes it easier to axe your opponents to give it up. Feel free to chop around there, though, as weapon choice is fairly important.
Привет! Russian is a pretty rare language out east here, so don't feel obligated to pick up more on my account. As for eras - well, I'm all for the Renaissance, I'm also a sucker for the 9th century in terms of styles…
Hrmn, as for companions, we could use more companions - perhaps have 'Wayfaring Bodyguard' become a companion. Either they end up wanting to wander the world, they want to get away from Princess Knight or the job of watching her, or (and this is my favourite) they're just a bit ditzy and got lost. Really, really lost.
As for responses, my apologies, but I only come here in the evening or mornings, or when I'm on my lunch break - such as now. Patience is a courtly virtue, after all, ahaha! I do think you're getting a better design with what you want out of her armor, and that is a good thing.

I think I was trying too much to make it an overly realistic type armor (cause as a girl in gaming of any type, while bikini armor is cute, we do make fun of it because we get annoyed when that's our only choices) Though I was thinking of make it the 'power up move'
Something like 'Bikini Power' or 'Uterus Power' where armor becomes like 10+ def for 3 turns
Either that or 'OFF WITH HIS HEAD' which is take one turn to power up and next turn take beheading swipe, dislocating your enemies head from it's body. Has 50% chance of working depending on roll number. (Even number means hit, odd number means miss)
Ohhh, I do like the captured and breaking out in process con. Basically your entrance would be right into a dungeon which can be pretty fun for people.
Hm…..when I was thinking of the companion, it was more as a lazy ass who decided to run off and she has to get their butt back home. Like Teen Knight or that Boss Knight or something….
Hm…there's two possiblities if I did a companion. One could be 'Runaway Brother' which her younger brother the Prince heard about the tower princesses, and has gone off to have adventure. His parents are horrified their heir has run off, and in hopes to get him back, offer Princess Knight's hand in marriage for his safe return. Princess Knight isn't about to get married off to somebody she doesn't even know because her starry-eyed brother has gone off to get into trouble, so she takes up her battle-axe and goes to find the boy.
Other would be 'Runaway King' who is her father, an old vet knight who became king, but has gotten bored of politics, and hearing about the tower princesses, he ran off for adventure, leaving the kingdom in turmoil. With her father's knights fighting amongst themselves to take over the kingdom with the king gone, Princess Knight takes up her battle-axe and kick that dirty old man's butt back home!!
In both cases, Princess Knight has to go and save their butts. I'll figure them out companion wise if I go with that.
But I still like the being captured thing too cause I love a game where you're thrown instantly into a dungeon, gives you a great chance to see how you're going to do with the character.
hmmmm….so many things to think about….

Seems pretty solid design right there. However, I think it is still the rule that all helmets must cover the entire face to the knight, or at least keep it pitch-black obscured. Valkyrie Knight went through the same ordeal in the past. :P

What can I say, I have a sympathy for those able to get lost in a straight hallway. Though… Three swords would be nothing against Martyr Knight's one-handed prowess!
>>5462
I suppose some might find it limiting. I personally don't mind too much. As for the name… I'm sure you can do better then that! Remember, this a Knight who happens to also be a Princess; surely, it should have a regal title. ;)
For example - Off With His Head is a lovely allusion to Alice in Wonderland, though perhaps more fitting of a Queen. Perhaps a strengthening ability could be a… Royal Flush?
Again - for possible companions, remember that they might be picked up by other Knights in Other playthroughs, so try to keep things semi-generic. "Princess Knight's starry-eyed brother, who ran away" seems fine; Runaway King less so, as we already have a very Kingly Knight, indeed. >>4953 Near the bottom right!
And as for patience, it's usually the first to be sidestepped. As long as you'll humour my slow responses, I do not mind.
>>5467
Under the card itself:
"All cards, regardless of race, gender, or lack thereof must have full helmet. If there are eyeholes, breathing slits, etc. it is preferred that they remain black shadows in card artwork to suit the unifying theme of fairytale artwork."
Perhaps keep the domino, but obscure the face with some sort of shade from above? A crown, or other symbol of royal authority? Other then that, looking good. I'm glad you settled on the axe, a fine weapon.
Princess Knight 06/10/15 (Wed) 03:47:00 e203a3 No. 5480

Meh, it's mostly a joke on the whole 'bikini armor' thing. I think Off With His Head is more fun mostly because of the one-hit kill potential which can make her a potential bruiser of a tank. And who doesn't love a girl tank? XD ((though I always play DPS))
Besides, 'queen knight' has been supposed to be some kind of flamboyantly colorful guy or something, I dunno if they have decided on it or what.
As for the companion, the biggest problem is, if I did put one in, I have absolutely NO idea what the crap they would do XD. I imagined the 'king' as some kind of Don Quixote kinda king. And I totally didn't even think of King Knight at all. Truthfully the idea for the whole 'father' was that Boss that would be popping up to test Sir Knight, and the idea of him being his 'father' burst the little idea out of my head.
I pictured her yelling at Boss-Knight and telling him off and calling him a stupid Daddy for leaving her to have to deal with everything so he could just gallivant off to play! What would Mama think!?
XD it was funny to me. though I would have to make her look significantly evilier if I even went close to that route. And like you said, has to be pretty darn generic.
As for a little brother, well, all I could see was this little prince waving a too big sword around and squealing when he nearly gets hit and his sis has to save him. Sooooo, I don't think either he, nor the don-Quixote king would be very helpful. At ALL. XD
Hm…..though she could have a mighty steed of some sort that fights with her I suppose.
As for the helm, *sigh* I tried it a couple of different ways like that, but I don't want it ending up looking like Valkyrie Knight's helm. I might have to go just like any old other helm. I'll think of something….though I might have to change the armor a little again. Mostly the bottom of the chestpiece since it was suppose to match the 'tiara' form of the visor helm…..Eh, I'll figure something out.

First of all - don't give up. Creating stuff for collaborative projects is HARD and requires a lot of time and energy. You probably know this already, but I'm saying it all the same, especially because I know you've already put an arm and a leg in.
I thought Queen Knight had been scrapped some time ago? I actually didn't about the 8ch threads until just recently, so consider me out of the loop. Hah, that just opens the door for Empress Knight, and her army of retainers!…
Now, more seriously. Hrmn - of all the ideas you suggested, I *really* like the idea of a heroic steed. Not just because we have quite a few Knights, and not one starts with a horse(!), but because you could work that into an interesting power. Something like -
'Princess Knight cannot be damaged in combat so long as she is riding her steed; if the steed is slain, Princess Knight captures a new one within 24 hours.'
Or something like that. I'm trying to remember the myth of the man who couldn't be defeated as long as he touched the soil… Anyway.
Sorry the armour is proving such a pain. If writer/artist's block is striking, do not forget to take time to step back, rest, and mull things over. Time and caffeine can work wonders, haha.

WELP, look who I'm trying to rescue from limbo again! And this time with placeholder illustration. Although the armor and helm shape don't quite feel that good, the pose and the composition of the visor seem pretty satisfying, imo. What you folks think? Is the fluff good, btw?
Nicotine Knight 06/12/15 (Fri) 03:59:24 f890c8 No. 5548
>>5545
Short post since I've been pretty busy recently but - I like the poor bastard, though I have a few of the same critiques regarding fluff that I did for Princess Knight.
- Prude Knight is still a Knight and will stand with the rest; as such, as much as the other Knights might bully him for his chaste choice, it's probably for the best to not be TOO silly about it in the fluff.
- For example, Crest of Celibacy should have something slightly more subtle - Sad Knight is quite referential, for example, but a little covertly. I would recommend:
Shield of the Untouched - Sacred kite shield blessed by a lonely Goddess. Grows more powerful the more chaste the wielder is. Grows thorns when the wielder the more lustful the wielder becomes.
Holy Vow - Sworn to celibacy, Prude Knight's unarmed attacks are stronger the longer they have been without the touch of a loved one. Can even be used to manipulate energy.
- Aura of Influence is GREAT and a really interesting crunch-factor as well, to my mind, but I feel like it could have a slightly better name, though damned if I know what that is. Still - seems like it could make games with Prude Knight pretty interesting.
- Don't quote me on this, but the flavour text seems a bit off? Maybe:
"A pious knight with a tormented mind, haunted by the curse of the demon they once loved. Unable to stand for their former lover's lasciviousness, this former Paladin must either seek redemption… Or indulge in sin."
That's a matter of preference, though. I'm pretty bad at understanding commas, even though I know the grammatical rules for them.

Also, that helm looks like a bucket. The design is cute, but…..all I can see is bucket.

Hmmm….Aura of influence…..When I read the discript I just keep thinking of 'Attract' from Pokemon for some reason. It's a great idea though, but Nico's again right on the name…..it doesn't….sound right for the skill.
How about something like Chaste Aura or Chastity?
>>5531
Ah no worries, it's mostly just the helm that's giving me problems, that and a bit of…lady issues. Which brought up a hilarious thought for another attack but I know would never go over well at all.
28 days - For every month, one week of the month, Princess Knight's Str and Attack power are increased by 50%, but stamina is lowered and bleeding effect is added to your counter.
XD totally hilarious, totally can't use it, but still funny.
I like the steed more and more myself. I'll go with she's a 'captured' knight so she's instantly in a dungeon and once out, she goes to save the other princesses because who knows when another knight will come and save their butts.
That and she can get her own male harem while doing so XD

Over-fluffed, I like it; also, Nico? I can't say I mind it, ahaha! As for the design, it's an actual kind of helm - one moment. It was commonly known as the greathelm, or… Bucket helm.
And I'll be the first to say I think it looks awesome, ahahahah!
http://www.densorteridder.dk/imgs/SAY_helmet_crusader.jpg
As for a certain status effect, it's been done before and elsewhere, and usually ends up seeming a bit more 'wacky/random' then outright funny - even though the comedy potential is golden.
Also, the need for steed is strong. Muahahaha!
>>5569
Quite welcome - I'm not worried about anything, merely trying to give useful feedback. Ideally without being a tool, ahaha! I completely failed to notice the lucky 5's, congratulations Princess Knight!
I feel what sets the taming ability apart from others is that the animal is a bit stronger - think a Paladin's Mount in a certain pen and paper game.

Mathilde of Tuscany wore very masculine helmets the two (? someone more historically knowledgeable about the area can help me here) took to the field, if I remember. So you could easily have it and then a dramatic, hair to the wind reveal.
I'm REALLY liking the new helmet design. Reminds me kind of a falcon! Very grim and hardcore, too, so you can combine the Princessy powerset with a rough and tumble weapon and helmet/armour combo.
Finally - I'm really quite shameless. Give me some feedback, yeah?

Heart-shaped is alittle much, she'll end up looking like the queen of hearts instead. Not a bad look, but then she'd be more of a Queen Knight then Princess Knight.
And no, I'm not doing a bow. Bows are NOT girly, and I hate when people stick them to girls because it's the stereotypical 'girl weapon' of fantasy. They do this to elves too. (not that Legolas doesn't rock that bow of his.)
Also, contrary to what fantasy is all about, bows are NOT good weapons for close quarters that you would face in a tower. Bows are better as sniping and distance weapons, and they're efficient as hell IN THAT WAY. But you need to be a hell of a bowman to shoot a bow while running or riding a horse, as well as to use them in close range. Most bowmen in historical senses were kept far back in the distance on a battlefield, switching out between rows for loading and aiming. Others were kept high in trees or on the high walls of a castle for sniping, and then only the cream of the crop were allowed to be part of the Calvary. Lastly, these men also carried short swords and daggers in case they were pulled into close combat, why? Because bows in close combat REALLY SUCK. By the time you had your bow up, your opponent would be on top of you and slicing into your hand.
Now, I grant you this is a fantasy setting, so this is kinda null point. But it's a pet-peeve of mine, especially when brought up for 'female warriors'. The stereotype of it being a 'girly/naturey/elfish weapon' annoys the crap out of me. Bows are badass distance weapons and should be assigned to a person with a good reason, not because it's 'girly/naturey/elfish'.
-gets off her soapbox- sorry everyone XD
In any case, I'm not changing her weapon, she's keeping a damn axe. She can chop into doors that way if need be. And lots of princesses were beheaded throughout history, so it's also a throw back to that.
Besides, she put freaking ribbons on it, that should be 'girly' enough right?!
As for colors, I'm still torn between pink and blue. I'm pretty sure her nemesis is the Blue knight like he is for Sir Knight, which pulls me towards pink, but at the same time, I like blue too. So yeah. Might go with some really dark pink or something, I'll figure something out.
>>5589
BUCKET HELM! HA! Knew I was right with the name.
It's not a bad helm, it definitely does the job, but all I can see is 'bucket' when I look at it XD That's just me is all.
And yes, you're Nico now because it sounds cuter than Nicotine.
XD Paladin Mounts, the one class you can always count to have a mount.
Lastly, the biggest problem is a lot of women knights wore the same helms that the males were wearing at the time, which were mostly open faces unless her husband was a knight and she took his armor (or she was a queen like Isabella)
All and all, I like this design, it's similar to Elfin Lied's helmet https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/8b/f8/86/8bf88608277436bd9fb4c1212ade75da.jpg
And then Princess Aurora's crown from Sleeping Beauty at the top.
It has a profile similar to this:
http://orig01.deviantart.net/ef0c/f/2008/117/f/0/019___new_face_by_chopstickmadness.jpg
Anyways now that you mention it, it kinda DOES look like a falcon XD.
I'll work some more on her later tonight, see if I can get her drawn and colored hopefully.
XDDDD Also, for your shamelessness. A female smoker knight. XD Not what I expected though pretty hilarious an idea.
Though maybe her name should be Miasma Knight? The old word for 'diseased air'.
And she doesn't have a smokescreen!? I call foul! XD

Agincourt is a good example. Without strength, English bowmen would not have been able to defeat the men-at-arms and heavy cavalry present at close range; any bow greater then a short bow requires enormous upper arms strength, with light armour being favoured both for mobility and avoidance of fatigue.
I'd be interested in seeing a more Lucy-like design for Princess Knight; again, if you can keep it looking regal but also intimidating, that'd be best. In the player's hands, a good knight should be able to be either humorous or badass, as the situation demands.
As for Miasma Knight - which I love, by the way - I'm thinking of a uniform that evokes riding uniforms and surcoats. Something between Utena and Victoria Louise, altered enough to feel workable within the setting proper.
Helmet-wise, I'm thinking an old design of open-faced helmet with either a chain mesh or mask over it; we'll see. I am not an artist, so doing that takes significantly longer for me.
That being said, I'm bemused to be hilarious and amused to be cute - though I'll accept both, haha!

Yeee! I helped!
And omg, I love Utena (though I still will live in my world where she got with Tougo at the end. SHH YOU CAN'T STOP ME).
Since she's a 'smoking knight' she should have like a gun or something fire based in my mind, but that's just me.
As for outfit, I think I prefer Victoria's top and then Utena's skirt and shorts combo bottom. I always hated those stupid prince frillies on any prince coat, XD I know I'm weird.
Helmet wise…hmmm…I think I've heard of a helmet like that…..hold on.

I meant a bow as in the decorative ribbon not the weapon.
My reasoning is simple. Knight Princess is a tough princess, Princess Knight should be her opposite in many ways besides her badassery.

Naturally. You've been enthusiastic so far, so how could you be anything but helpful? Even if we must dissent on fashion… Rather seriously, might I add, ahaha - I shall simply agree to disagree with you.
For my reasoning - I always thought epaulettes looked dashing, they do a good job of making broad shoulders look less foolish, so perhaps that's why I'm partial to them. I'm actually going to throw together some design things later, though again - art is not what I do, so do feel free to laugh.
AND YES I love the closed mask there! I feel contrasting that with medals and fancy clothes will do a good job of making her nature a bit more murky…
>>5628
Ideally, we'll have a few fair Knights to contrast against Knight Princess at the end of the day. I think four or five would be good, at least; I would also like to see a few more Knights like Bear or Dragon Knight, not necessarily humorous but peculiar.

Oh okay okay phew, okay. I'm with you now.
Actually, she does have ribbons on her axe and a 'scarf' ribbon. I might pull out a bow on the top of the axe where the handle and blade meet.
Sorry, didn't mean to go all craycray on you, it's one of my 'costume/character' pet-peeves XD. Okay, I'm with you now. I'm still bouncing around on the pink, I'm thinking a dark pink of some sort.
>>5629
I think it stems from my childhood, I watched Cinderella all the time as a little kid because that had just come out and I would watch it over and over (along with TMNT and My Little Pony) and ALL the guys in that movie wear those epaulettes. And then the ones I noticed it the most on were the dad and the advisor so I think they kinda ruined them for me XD
Either way, Utena made them look kinda decent, so if you go with low stated (cause if Miasma is a girl, her shoulders can't be too broad. I have really broad shoulders and a barrel chest myself, if I didn't have a hour glass body shape, I could easily be mistaken for a guy. D: *sob*
So how are you going to design her in orientation wise? Leave it vague? See, if I was playing Princess Knight, she'd be straight because I'm straight (and I have the power of the rooster bell to make it all the more awesome) but I'm leaving it open for the player since I do know guys like the yuri too XD. But someone like say Cat Princess, it's pretty much hinted heavily she's lesbian or at least bisexual.
You gonna leae Miasma open or give her a set pref?

Haha, well, I won't tease you about it then; as a side note, I have broad shoulders as well. I would say I'm rather sensitive about them, but actually they're just dandy. I am going with low-stated though, but more on that in a bit…
As for orientation, it is always up to the player to choose such details for their Knights. I'm merely out to make interesting Knights; but of course, there's a reason I made mention of debauchery on her character sheet… Sex isn't a bar to lust!
>>5644

welp, now I'm in a fix. I was looking at Princess Knight last night and that whole 'Make her the girly badass' thing popped up in my head.
So I put a bow on the end of the axe and made the ribbons ragged, and put a bow on the butt of her 'steed' (which kinda looks like a unicorn with it's armor XD;; )
Anyways, then I began to think, should the axe blades look like a heart/butterfly/bow?

I think the axe blades should look very practical, because it offers a nice contrast to the other girlish things she has; she's a Princess, but also a Knight. I do like the image of a blood-covered butterfly blade, but mostly for the alliteration.
Plus - you've already got a NOBLE STEED, and that's +20 princess points right there, right? If you're still not convinced, try plotting it out; we'll be around for further thoughts.

Most interesting to me though, is Slugger Knight. It might just be that I think there's something inherently ominous about baseball, but I feel you could just straddle the line between silly idea and silly idea that's actually pretty cool here. How? Hmrn, I'm unsure.
Also I realized I was unclear; I wanted to gush about your ideas for Knights, but if you're looking for more to draw, there are always Knights and Princesses (and creatures and maps and…) in need of an artistic assist.

Oh, that's fine too. Input on my ideas is always good. I had a few ideas for the character and motives of these three Knights, though…
Chef Knight is just a regular old fellow who wants his saucepan back. Though he has no battle experience or weapons training, his competence with kitchen utensils transfers well to the field of honor.
Cola Knight is addicted to soda. Since this is of course a medieval setting, soda is pretty hard to come by and must be made with the aid of magic (since there's no mundane way of carbonating water) and he seeks princesses not for booty but for bounty, so he can buy more soda. Personality-wise he can be compared to a typical twitchy meth-head.
Lastly, Slugger Knight is an old gladiator/arena sports star past his prime and forgotten. Now struggling to make a living, he acts a bit like a petulant washed-up TV star who's addicted to fame and recognition. He saves princesses because he just wants to be a hero again.
Input is appreciated.
I'll look around and maybe draw a few knights/princesses who don't have art.

Alright, they're done. I enjoyed drawing them, sorry if I misinterpreted any of your ideas. I started drawing Leprosy Knight before I checked your outline so I had to go back and change a few things.
Hope you like them!
(About my Knights, I was thinking of maybe drawing up a concept for a traveling soda alchemist NPC with a big-time drug operation aesthetic, given the effect that the stuff has on Cola Knight and many like him. Not sure where I'd post those NPC ideas, though.)

First of all, how on earth did you manage to take my horrible scrawlings and decipher them?! I'm damn impressed you managed to look into that abyss and not take sanity damage.
But more seriously - first off, thanks so much! Anyone would be pleased as punch to have someone write or draw their ideas into life, and I'm perhaps 500% more hyped then that - all the more so if it was enjoyable for you.
'Misintrepret', bah - the way I see it, in a collaborative thing such as this, it's all good and all valid, wahaha! And as for how I view your work, well - if I may gush a bit..?
I absolutely love what you did with Leprosy Knight. I'd originally planned them to look similar somewhat to the random guy at the end of Last Crusade, aha - then I thought about it more and tried to capture the fact that this is a Knight sealed in ceremonial armour, and probably miserable.
You captured that WONDERFULLY. I actually have trouble deciding which version I like more. I feel like the armour is designed to reassure people who have never seen such a knight - again, something you captured just perfectly. Plus, I was really fascinated by the pomp of both Outremer and Byzantine armour growing up…
As for Miasma Knight, I'd originally been thinking of something like this -
http://i.imgur.com/iQw6yvK.jpg
But honestly, perhaps that would have felt too similar to Man-at-Arms. I really like what you've done, especially the devil-may-care attitude, hahaha! I also admire the floral touch; black flowers are very rare in nature, with all those we perceive as black being in fact just darker shades of other colours.
Gardening nerdiness aside, seriously. Thank you. If I can return the favour at some point, do let me know. As for your ideas, I tried to give useful feedback - also, have you considered them as a Courtier? (Potentially of shifting loyalties..?)

I came up with a bunch of ideas for knights without putting much thought into their design, abilities, or fluff. I THINK nobody's done these yet.
>Spider knight
>Wheel/Bicycle/Rider knight(?)
>Aura knight
>Sports/Football/Soccer knight
>Runner knight
>Bald eagle knight
>Fossil/Stone knight
>Train knight (pic completely unrelated)
Maybe I'll make cards for a couple of them when I have the time.

Stone/Fossil Knight and Train Knight really stand out to me, I will take a crack at them when I wake up tomorrow.
And after Slugger Knight I really have no excuse not to draw Football Knight… I'll do both a Futból Knight and an American Football Knight, so they can be rivals.

My friend - again, no 'messing' up occurred. I have a very specific view of, well, everything according to my internal diktat, ahah - but that is a flexible, malleable thing. I *love* your artwork, and actually would be honoured if you wouldn't mind throwing me some weapon/armour inserts.
For benefit, here are the cleaned up cards, I'm just sad I had to resize your work; you even gave me the gift of a non-crummy font colour choice, ahahaha! So please - know you've done a job well and truly well at that.
>>5934
I love spiders, might have a crack at that if I'm not monopolozing things. Might let others have a go for a bit, but that's some interesting ideas right there.
I suppose we missed the optimal time to do bald eagle knight, yeah?
>>5936
EXCELLENT. Though I feel like Futból Knight would consider American Football Knight as a rival, while the latter is largely ignorant of their perceived arch-nemesis, ahaha!

Holy shit, I love Fossil Knight. I can't tell if it's some entity clinging to life in there, or the spirit of the long-dead fossil itself, but the design is really fucking cool. As is Train Knight, but I imagine wearing a combustion engine is pretty cumbersome. As for the brothers of sport - somehow, I couldn't imagine them any other way.
… Red is the sort of player that habitually needs to win, am I right? Haha!
As for my request, I literally just meant filling the 'weapon/shield' slot art; a fairly standard sword and tower shield for Leprosy Knight, and the sabre and smokes for Miasma Knight. I can go into more detail if that helps? I just feel my own art, especially for Miasma Knight, looks pretty amateurish by comparison; anyway, there is no rush or pressure!
Jake 07/08/15 (Wed) 00:58:22 cdb689 No. 5975
>>5970
Hopefully these are acceptable.
Also I have no idea how Fossil Knight would actually play - my original idea was that the controlling entity within is some kind of diminutive necromantic fae that uses its powers to raise not just the dead, but the long, LONG dead.
Train Knight is a little more simple. His train armor is cumbersome and slow, but he can use fuel such as coal or other powerful heating sources to gain bursts of incredible power and speed.
And though the Sports Brothers like to fight each other and disagree on many things, you can be sure that they share a deep mutual respect and won't hesitate to team up for the greater good.
Neither of them quite likes Slugger Knight, though.

Thank you, so much. And yes - everything you do is acceptable. Or rather - more then that. I'd go so far as to say exemplary - and for me, at least, I can say I never would've been able to complete these without your help. Once more - thank you.
(And with that out of the way, here are the final, most-likely, clean versions of the cards!)
Being an armchair necromancer myself (but who isn't these days?) I love the idea of the Longdead returning from their ancient slumber. Perhaps in exchange for relatively poor states, Fossil Knight can almost always raise some sort of bone/fossil monstrosity..? With stats/form depending on the area the call originates from - perhaps a kind of necromantic geomancy.
Train Knight though - I'm just waiting for someone to combine Train Knight with a fusion reactor, or something crazy like that. Also, it may just be my penchant for heavy industry, but… Ah, there's something nostalgic about trains. Maybe that's just me, though.
And I don't blame the Sports Bros. I've heard Slugger Knight can be… Well… But I'm glad to hear that they put good Sportsmanship above petty competition. They're good fellas. I like them!

>>6038
Aaand here we go! All stat'd and described! But I should post some 'author notes' too, I guess.
DemonBlood Knight - The idea for this character was pretty solid and complete early on, though his design was meant to be 'Raider Knight' before I sorta merged it into his concept. I didn't want to draw just a straight-up demon knight, so I took a more humanized approach to the idea. He is an illegitimate child, probably of some cultist and a demon that was parentless for most of his life. Being born into poverty and prosecuted because of his looks has sparked an unquenchable thirst for status and riches that gave birth into his ambition. Using his charm and strength he managed to get himself knighted and set out to marry a princess that would bring him even more prestige and power. I wanted to make him a bit of a 'noble demon' kind of character - he still has a good heart and values people close to his, but it is contrasted by his greed that verges on obsession. I think he'd get along with people that can get past his attitude (but not righteous ones) and could go toe-to-toe with stronger and dominant princesses. It's worthy of note that his 2nd item was supposed to be a sentimental (his first) coin, but I decided that wouldn't be worth much in-game. He still has it as a good luck charm. It's also worthy of note that he seems to be bent on hiding his face behind his iron mask.Generally, think Griffith from Berserk…only MUCH less of an asshole. I also hope his ability isn't overpowered.
Drifter Knight - He was a character that's easy to draw but hard to stat and describe. Also his past changed until I settled on what he is right now: an exiled, bitter, practical loner that cares mostly about coin and stopped claiming to be innocent of his crime a long time ago. But deep under that gruff there's still the man that became a knight, it just needs a LOT of coaxing for it to come out as it's been hidden by years of mercenary work. I tried to make him look a little bit more Middle Eastern than a standard knight, dunno how that worked out. I can say his skin is lighter than Demonblood Knight's but lighter than an average European-inspired knights. Currently I paired him with Kobold Princess and I don't know if I can bring myself to draw him with anyone else. I think he'd get along with any person that doesn't get on his nerves TOO much, unless they're obviously evil. He still has no love for people like that. Again, I hope his power is balanced.
>body too long

>cont'd
Cursed Knight - He went through many changed since his idea came around - burned through fire, unwittingly caused his kingdom's downfall, possessed by evil spirits…the list go on but I settled for a way that leaves him with 'open' motivation and a settled past. I also originally planned to make him more tragic and melancholic but that seemed a bit too 'edgy' for my taste (and the setting). Despite liking his design (I really was hell-bent on making his equipment look battered and worn), I had a hard time picking his color scheme, trying to balance his cursed look and his 'true knight' persona, and finally settled on using heroic blue. I should mention that he's actually NOT an undead - just under some NASTY curses. Speaking of those, they are a strange and huge mix of negative effects, from standard ones (exhaustion, lessened strenght etc.) to some really bizarre ones (he can't plant trees and is unable to see the color orange among some). It also affects his speech to the point all he can manage is a jumble of senseless phrases, coughs and harks. It's why I gave him theoretically zero charm, though it can be conveyed through mannerism. I think he's the type to try to find the best qualities in most people so he's a friendly guy. Not that most people give him the chance really - he is a walking corpse whose misfortune spills a bit toward those around him, and this extends to the princesses. Because of his tough condition I think he can ignore some weird quirks of more beastly princesses too (for example, I doubt he'd be bothered by Drider'd spiders and so on).I'm going to be honest and admit his design is clearly inspired by the Undead from Dark Souls series and the Leper from Darkest Dungeon. And once more, his ability seems overpowered in my eyes.
As a general note,I kept the 12 points rule and I didn't describe their weapons/shields because it seemed just a bit too standard. If they aren't in their item slot (like the Naga Saber) just assume they're normal weapons with no special qualities. Thought it'd give them more character, which is why I tried to go for more meaningful stuff. I'll admit I had no idea for Cursed Knight's second item so it's a bit standard for now. Might change it later. But for the same reason I decided to also give all of them a seal/banner/symbol. I love stuff like that.
So those are the character I have drawn right now. I STILL have a huge pile of knights and will draw three more. If any of those names strike you as cool, feel free to point that out: Witch, Spirit, Arbalest, Alchemist, Rift and a few unnamed ones.
>>6013
I also forgot to comment on those: I really dig both of their designs! I also wonder, if the Leprosy knight was also inspired by Darkest Dungeon's Leper?

Hrmn, I was certain I'd replied to these… My apologies. Probably just lack of sleep, yeah?
For Demonblood, my first thought was actually Berserk; though hopefully with less behelit-related shenanigans. By the way, the Banners/Crests are a fantastic idea that make me want to see them integrated into the game proper - at the very least, when the player starts their own kingdom, who wouldn't want to raise their banner high..?
Back to Demonblood, however. I like the mix of charity and almost obsessive, greed-driven conquest. I'd run him as parallel to Griffith, more like - whereas Griffith became obsessed with an (idealized) past and trying to reconstruct it, Demonblood looks to the future. That can be harmful, too… But I'd wish him luck, all the same.

Drifter Knight though… I just really love his design. I think the thing that gets me most is how suspicious he looks. I know and relate to that feeling immensely, so maybe it's a whole birds-of-a-feather thing, ahahaha… It might just be his sword, but he reminds me of my desire to create a 'Steppe Knight' at some point. I feel that - if he found his hidden heroic side, his armour would be complete with noble wings..?
More seriously though, I know what you mean about pairing off knights; part of the problem is that I often find myself matching people off, and that limits my ability to write or create quality content; so I end up holding back, since I've no desire to step on others toes.
Plus - I have a weakness for characters that carry notes and lore with them. Maybe it's just a 'soulsy' kind of feel, or maybe it's just the fact that it looks cool, but whether it's handscrawled parchments on how best to kill a monster, or unfulfilled contracts, simply waiting to be collected… It looks cool.
A note about powers, actually - Generally, it seems like the most important thing is keeping them thematically appropriate and not going too overboard. I don't want to say that with certainty, but, so far theme seems more important then balance - which'll probably be adjusted as the setting is compiled more.
And even with that, your knights seem quite balanced by my count.
Nicotine Knight 07/12/15 (Sun) 08:58:45 f890c8 No. 6058
>>6047
Another problem I know well. I have huge ideas for lore and the like for my knights - but assuming that someone actually wants to use them at some point, they need to have open motivation. Straddling the line between silly/cute and gloomy/melancholic is a bit tricky, but I think when you hit it well enough… The two actually go quite well together.
Those sound like some very mythical curses; I think that's what won me over, actually. I've a strong spot for people who bear with suffering and horror, and I think it allows for better character development, even when you're limited to gesture and half-sentence. His ability seems the most concerning to me, but honestly? If it were up to me, I'd allow it because it's interesting; maybe have a clause that he's randomly effected by status-lowering curses if people feel it's too much..?
Honestly - please draw as many as you want, I don't want to gush too much, but you've got a hardcore fan in me. It also gives me the courage to keep on working with my own ideas here, though I fear I can't draw them as you can. And again - I honestly feel crests/banners/standards are fantastic; give me warm vibes of Heroes of Might and Magic II. I wouldn't mind seeing them on other knights!
Finally, a note on Leprosy Knight… Ahaha, absolutely. She's one part my interest in sickness and infirmity, one part a childhood incident involving frostbitten gangrene though not mine, thankfully, one part my love of courtly love, a not-entirely-platonic crush on Baudouin IV, and Darkest Dungeons - specifically her penchant for inopportune poetics.
(Return to the Warrens is also kickin' to write to.)
… Personality-wise though, I think of her as being incredibly humorous and good-natured; where the Leper in DD is driven by melancholy and fervor, she tends to look on the brighter side of things. I've got more to her, obviously, but I don't want to monopolize this any further then I have. Again - thank you for contributing, and you have no idea how much I'm looking forward to future Knights from you!

Sorry for the late reply, my sleep schedule has been really damaged by today's night of excess (read: drawing until 6 AM).
For Demonblood I really wanted to make him a walking contrast, someone who is in turmoil and at odds with himself at all times. He has the potential to be both a hero and a villain, and it can be played both ways. I can share that he his a bit insecure about himself in a few ways what with the intimidating mask. It should be noted that those horns aren't a part of his headgear either and it's not visible here but he has a tail as a testament to his bloodline. I remember I wanted to make him red-skinned at first, then thought about purple but later settled on simply dark skin that's hard to place on the ethnic scale.
Drifter Knight was an idea that came to me in a flash and kept just rolling down the slope, gathering stuff. I'll admit the notes and sword came last-second just as I was finishing his profile. And as you've said - has to straddle the line between backstory and motivation to make him a character that's playable and can go either way.
As a final note, I've been reading up a bit on Baldwin IV. He was a truly cool dude, that's for sure.
Also, the more I look at Nicotine Knight, the more I like her. It's probably the veil/mask combo it looks…unique. Also I think Cursed Knight and Leprosy Knight would get along pretty well! I actually might draw that once I strike the vein of…well…vein again.

I had another dumb idea: Chicken Knight and Egg Knight. My idea is that Egg Knight starts out weak but later grows into the more powerful Chicken Knight, and turns back into Egg Knight periodically. Maybe a Phoenix would be a better motif.
Which came first?

So it is, friend. I should honestly be trying to get some more sleep, but I want to start the week off right…
In the past when I was much younger, I enjoyed making my demons a kind of 'metallic' shade, not quite blue - but described in glistening, clearly inhuman town. I've grown fonder of dusky red over time; both because it's classic and I think look's better when actually drawn, haha.
With Demonblood, though - you gave the player a lot of options. I feel that as long as the player is creative, they can tell all kinds of stories within the structure of the game - again, depending on their desires.
(And I'm glad to get more people on the Baldwin bus, wahahaha!)
Ah - much obliged! I have Jake to thank for that, who happens to be right here - but know that I would be glad to see such art, should inspiration strike! Until then, good luck with the eternal struggle what is sleep.

Hello and a tentative welcome back, friend! Personally, I'd go with Rooster Knight, myself; you could have a huge cockscomb helmet and maybe some sort of weapon that's also a comb - but whenever Rooster Knight turns down a fight, the act of 'cowardice' even if it's logical, downgrades them into Egg Knight.
But maybe that's also their bonus, and Egg Knight is much hardier..? I'll mull it over.

ALRIGHT! SO! I've decided to take matters into my own hands and give this thread an update. The knight list prior to my meddling is as follows: http://i.imgur.com/k44lK5K.jpg
>>6013
Leprosy Knight needs a tweak on her stats and ability - they seem a bit OP to me.
Miasma Knight seems doable, so consider her added.
>>6038
>>6046
Only thing preventing me from adding these is a lack of chibi-fied knights XP Other than that, they look good.
>>6047
Keep in mind the equipments are just fluff, no crunch. Only the ability of a knight should affect the mechanics. I suggest making the effect of the protective seals his ability and give the item itself a fluff description. Other than that, amazing concept, hope to see those entries tweaked soon! ^^
>>6190
Uhm… the ability seems a little OP. You might want to rephrase it so it's clearer or tone it down a bit. ^^U
>>6197
Adding both. They're great! ^^

At this point I guess everyone can figure not. ^^U We'll see how far this goes with mostly everything in my hands. Still expecting you guys to help with the sheets yet to be approved, as well as helping decide which to be approved and which needs tweaking (sheets that were already included could see some tweaking as well!!)
>>6205
Oh, I liked the top-right one. Hopefully "Princess Knight" will come back and finish her sheet. Good job with the axe. c:

I'm… not exactly sure about this. Quite frankly, it should be reworked all over, if that would be too bothersome to ask.

Oh, looks pretty good to far. I'd like to suggest, though, maybe you should rewrite the first equipment's description to something more fluff friendly, without a crunch factor to it. Like, replace "gets stronger if tasted blood" for something like "it craves for the blood of enemies". Also, remove that "ALWAYS", the rule is three pros and two cons and everything in the same font size. And each knight has to have only 12 stat points, tops. Yours has 13. Lastly, that ability… I'm kinda iffy about it, I dunno. :/ It feels like it is kinda easy to get its boon whenever the situation demands it… not to mention +1 to ALL stats seems like a little too much.
That's all I got, though. Again, you're getting there, That sure is an outstanding knight!

So this idea came to me today.

there is some great work here, you should make these into cards (sans drawing, unless you have one in mind) and then they can get plopped in when a draw knight finishes them up.

If anyone knows (and cares enough) please respond.
