Hello Knights,

Here's a map of Towergirls World I made - it's my humble interpretation of Series 1, 2, 3 and Journey to the East. What do you think needs to be added?

The program I am using is Hexographer - it's free and easy to use. What website is the best to post it to share with you?

c8be45 No.5297

Too much land. 7.2 -IGN

>>5293

Hmmm….I'm inclined to agree with >>5297

It almost looks like it should be one continent rather than well, that. If you were to take that and wrap it around to make a planet, we'd be working on the size of maybe……Mercury.

I understand you're trying to make it seem like there's enough land for all these princesses, but at the same time, it's just…too much land and not enough water.

How about something similar to this?

((When I was making up fantasy worlds, I would look at "terraformed" planets since then I could pretty much get away with anything since it was in nature XD))

90a3ef No.5305

>>5293

Or if you really wanna scradoodle with someone's head, try one of these!

https://pangea20.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/xumax_pangea.gif

MUAHAHAH!

08f686 No.5318

Thanks for your feedback guys!

Yes, that does make sense. Concerning the size, I was thinking Africa rather than Mercury - it's just a small piece of the whole world as such.

Regarding the amount of land - I agree. It's just that I needed to make more space should there be a need to create more kingdoms.

So, back to the workshop then.

What should be done?

1. Just raise the sea level to submerge all the yet empty spaces

2. Expand the map further still and add water so that it looks like the ones you suggested - with land-water ratio being 1:4.

Been doing some experimenting with maps.

90a3ef No.5350

>>5318

MMm….well, there is a ton of space, and we can't say for sure how big a kingdom is or isn't, and if wars haven't caused some kingdoms to fall. I mean some princesses don't even really HAVE a kingdom, like Knight or Mimic.

So if more kingdoms space needs to be made, they'll either take over another kingdom or find more land, or do like the Dutch did and MAKE more land.

As for water, you can do 1:4 or 2:3, either seem to be a pretty good match when it comes to 'habitable planet' building.

>>5342

XDDDD that crown!!

>>5344

Oooh….I like the under design you're using, and the landmass piece is very nice, needs more land though XD I like the design and the form of the land mass there though.

ef9ea8 No.5395

>>5318

I feel that adding land would be more fun; plus, you can 'zoom' the map out so that you see where the continent ends (or is linked by a landbridge to make future additions of land easier).

I'm not sure what to describe it as, but the feeling I get when looking at your map is that it would be an excellent roguelike, in the old sense of the word. Getting *band and ADOM vibes. Those hexes are beautiful.

Kingdom placement seems very good. What are your own concerns?

>>5344

Very pretty, and the landshape looks organic. Are you planning on including an old-time legend?

a67279 No.5408

File: 1433657098340.png (19.83 KB, 128x128, 1:1, town_icon.png)

>>5395

I was thinking about it. I made this as a proof of concept for a game I'm working on with a group of people. I'm in charge of doing map icons right now, so a legend will be included with its appropriate map when it's finished.

90a3ef No.5412

>>5408

OH! I like it! It looks so pretty for little villages! Will there be a separate icon for 'capital' towns or such?

Here's some maps I drew with a few friends. If there was a wiki to be made, was interested in posting it up on there, but this will suffice. Accurate biomes for a very large continent, but small enough to allow other continents to exist. Gen I-III are included, along with some unknown (to public) kingdoms. Some cool stuff, for sure.

90a3ef No.5421

>>5417

OOOoooo! What lovely continent! I like the organic shape and form.

*giggles* when I looked at it in a large format it looked like some kind of enlarged 'Britian'

But now in small form it kinda looks like a dragon princess's 'bust' picture XD

>>5418

EEEE! It's so cuuuuuut it's like a bouncy hoooouse! *squee!*

ef9ea8 No.5427

>>5408

Ah, much obliged.

>>5417

I cannot help but notice there is a lot of Taiga present. I heartily approve; the climatic zones must be unusually strong along the equator..? Forgive me if the terminology isn't quite right, but anyway - looks cool. More reason to get on a wiki eventually, for certain.

23da2c No.5446

>>5427

This continent sits above the equator, but spans from the far north to the middle. It is very large, and can occupy even more kingdoms than it currently does, but for the sake of readability it does not.

I've thought about making a wiki for the purpose of dumping all my lore on, and for other people to do so for theirs. It'd be fun to see a collection of headcanons on a single article for a princess or knight, for sure.

90a3ef No.5451

>>5446

So it's kinda set up like North America or Eurasia then right? At least how it sits with the equator and it's general climate zones and all due to relative temperature.

Hmmm….I wonder if that mountain range there should have any affect on the weather…

Anyways! I'm all for a wiki, we can keep all the art here mostly but a wiki for basic lore would be very helpful for vets and newbies to towergirls!

ef9ea8 No.5460

>>5446

Ah, thank you for the clarifications. I would love a wiki, speaking personally, but sometimes setting up and maintaining them can be more trouble then it's worth.

I really would like the add headcanon to a list without it cluttering up the board here, though, so just speaking personally and selfishly, a wiki would be great. For those of us interested in contributing ideas or fan-creations, too, being able to quickly back-reference lore is a blessing.

6bcf40 No.5465

>>5451

Sorta like a flipped Africa that doesn't reach over the equator and goes further north.

>>5460

Yeah, I feel the same. I'd love a wiki, but I don't have the time to set one up. If I did, we would probably already have a wiki.

ef9ea8 No.5472

>>5465

I can imagine the time it takes to coordinate and cross-reference ideas is pretty herculean for you as is.

It'd be a pain to trouble you as such, as well. After the month comes to an end, I'll ideally have a reprieve from work for a bit. If a few other regulars can get together at that time, maybe we can throw something together

>>5417

Unyin and the rest of us are actually working on the theory that there are three 'continents' for the kingdoms.

These are some of our current set ups. Wasn't the everharsh glacier supposed to be near high forest?

de07e9 No.5486

File: 1433925087846.jpg (111.51 KB, 1152x864, 4:3, TowerWorld.jpg)

>>5482

should mention that's an edit made by me, original by another is here

de07e9 No.5487

>>5417

so it goes up to 54. Which 6 are missing from there?

de07e9 No.5488

>>5487

Many Hands, Thundering Fleets, and the Grand Tower Kingdom accounts for two more because it has 3 princesses attached to it. I can't find Big Huge Kingdom on that list…Rhine Stone Carnival is missing too I think. So that's 6 princesses not on the map which makes sense.

d94ae3 No.5492

>>5472

It has definitely reached the point where I simply cannot overlook every single idea presented to me, so thankfully this multiverse approach helps a great deal in organization for not just myself, but other people who have their own ideas.

If people have the time, I'd love to pitch in and write, but as you say, I can't do it myself.

>>5474

The broquest map is a great example of a /tg/ or rpg-style every-region map, though it is missing NIPPON THE NINJUTSU DREAD

>>5482

There are only a few geographical references to the charts, but the Everharsh Glacier is the border that protects the High Forest from enemies further to the north. The humans were never strictly near the High Forest kingdom, and there are human communities that aren't even aware of its existence.

>>5487

>>5488

The nomadic kingdoms aren't on the map for obvious reasons, as are kingdoms that aren't 'meant' to exist, like the mimic one. There are some that aren't on charts that I've constructed, like the sea-lamias and two extra human kingdoms, one of which is in the center of the High Forest region.

Other kingdoms, like those of the p'orcs and gigants, aren't on the map due to the extinction of these races. This map is also placed several years after the events of the charts.

de07e9 No.5497

>>5492

Is that map going to be the one in the setting book?

de07e9 No.5499

>>5492

how do they defend them from enemies in the north when they're like half the length of africa away? Unless there's something worse in the far north?

de07e9 No.5501

>>5492

>>5417

Is that weird area south of Fertile Factory that looks both desert and temperate forest, the one along the rivers running south of the goblin kingdom, is it weird because of alchemical runoff from Fertile Factory? is that why there's an 'extinct' (or at least unknown) kingdom?

de07e9 No.5502

>>5492

>>5488

>>5417

There's actually 7 missing kingdoms. "Fishing Kingdom" I thought might be Winking Dark but then I found them too.

Band of the Moon is accounted for as well, makes sense since it's landed nobles rallying under another princess.

Hearthstone Cavalcade is another missing one, which makes sense since it's supposed to be a mobile attempt to take over the world.

But still curious what the heck "Fishing Kingdom" is…

d94ae3 No.5504

>>5497

If that ever exists, it'll be a version of it, yes.

>>5499

There's something worse in the far north.

>>5501

That's just a temperate rainforest. The Fertile Factory's capital actually sits beside a river, if you look closely. The unknown kingdom is a wild rainforest kingdom.

>>5502

The fishing kingdom is arguably one of the most important kingdoms to exist, and their princess, the Angler Princess (human), isn't even on the chart. Weird!

de07e9 No.5508

>>5504

… goddamn it, that book had better exist.

de07e9 No.5521

>>5504

>There's something worse in the far north.

Winking Dark Princess if a fragment of that greater evil that after being an unholy terror for so long has properly adapted to this strange new world rather than the one that lies beyond the frozen gates of the north, and has no recollection of her former homeland.

de07e9 No.5524

>>5521

This is giving me amazing head canon right now.

This continent is shaped like a dragon right?

And it's dominated by the dragons?

The other continents are dominated by other powerful mythical beasts. Things like the Grand Rocs of one archipelago shaped like a pair of wings (Phoenix, Thunderbird, Roc, Blizzard-Bird, etc)

d94ae3 No.5527

>>5521

The Eldritch Princess was always an anomaly, and the tentacle'd courtier was definitely from some foreign land. Even so, it might be surprising to note that they were never the 'big bad'. The true threat was always hiding in plain sight. Though, not plain enough that you'd guess it easily. I have a lot of lore written down for the history of the world before the towers came to be.

>>5524

The continent may seem like a dragon, but it is meant to look like a woman in a dress and a hat. Funnily enough, it is still an indicator of who truly rules the continent - before the dragons, and after.

ef9ea8 No.5528

>>5492

>>5504

Fisher Kingdom, you say… I hope it's a land of luck and fortune, myth and destiny. Also… I now have a very specific and likely entirely wrong guess for your cryptic comments about what the true threat is.

As for a wiki - I can always contribute the odd article at lunch breaks, if nothing else. Depending on who else in the thread has interest, we'll see how it goes.

>>5508

And most importantly, seconding this.

de07e9 No.5539

>>5528

wait… "Fisher Kingdom"…

"Angler Princess"

It's a fisher king situation. A kingdom whose monarch and land are connected.

>>5527

Still appropriate.

de07e9 No.5540

>>5527

Wasn't suggesting that they were EVIL so much as alien and fragments of whatever lies beyond the north.

That or it's a race known as the Garm whose numbers are only kept in check by the deprivations of their icy homelands, and seek the fertile lands to the south to feast upon, but would turn into a waste land because of their ravenous hunger and reproduction rate.

And no that's totally not something drug from one of my own settings. No way in heck.

e68060 No.5544

Alright then, the question at this point is: which map can be considered canon? Do we vote as a community or just go with it and let the plot unveil by itself as always?

de07e9 No.5546

>>5544

We're still playing by Touhou Rules. Everything is canon. It's just that some things are more Canon than others. Whatever people want to use is what they'll use.

Gats' version is likely the 'most canon' since he created this whole thing, but it doesn't really matter.

d94ae3 No.5564

>>5546

Pretty much. I mean, my map is canon to me, and that isn't going to change. It shouldn't stop people from making their own maps, either.

de07e9 No.5570

>>5417

Gats? I don't suppose you could create a map version of the first one that is color coded based upon which generation each is from?

Like red for things in none of the generations (obviously all of the ? and the Fisher Kingdom), blue, green, and purple for the 3 generations? (grand tower would be tricolored I guess?)

It's just hard to wrap my head around which little castle is linked to which generation?

90a3ef No.5572

>>5527

*squints* That's a woman in a hat? *squints harder*…….yeah no idea.

Princess Knight comes from somewhere, there's enough kingdoms she's probably from one of them XD;;

If we're going to have a 'fisher kingdom' connected to Anglers…..is it going to be a totally female populated place? Cause….you know, the males in the angler fish species are born to find a female and then bite into her and meld with her body until he's just some….yah-knows.

So they'd be like….futas…well, futas with possibly multiple male parts since a couple of males can jump on to the female.

And Eldritch and Tentacles can't be big bads, they're just….there, doing their thing. Cause that's what tentacles and eldritches do. They make you crazy and rape you. *shrug*

If we're talking something to the North, truthfully….

We don't know where Skeleton princess/Ghost princess/Zombie princess/Sword Princess come from…..it's possible that maybe…..well, the undead live in the north? Destroyed by wars between kingdoms trying to get better resources, which could explain how Dullahan princess' civil war came from maybe….cause Dullahans are symbols of death and all…..

Least that's my thoughts, I associate cold north with undead stuff, I blame Warcraft and Game of Thrones. XD

de07e9 No.5588

>>5572

Sword Princess is in the deep south right near to a pair of kingdoms lodged in a terrible war who she can combine with.

I vote ancestor of Crest and Armor Princesses

a59b0d No.5593

>>5570

Generations are irrelevant beyond the charts, since they represent nothing other than which groups were captured at which times.

>>5572

The fishing kingdom is a small vassal state populated by humans. The 'Angler' part is a reference to their jobs as fishermen, and a part of their folklore that revolves around discovering an anglerfish.

The undead do not live in the north - skeleton princess was resurrected along with the other skeletons by a necromancer, while slime princess (another undead) was a human princess who had their entire kingdom transmuted into a giant pit of slime. A lot of human princesses have similar fates, zombie, sword and dullahan princess being some of them.

Ghost princess is an actual princess of ghosts, so she is less related, funnily enough.

To the North, though, lies an entire continent of new races with their own politics and ideals. Instead of dragons, though, they're on the brink of war against a much larger species. As it so happens, their princess lies in this continent.

de07e9 No.5594

>>5593

alright, I got it nailed down anyway.

90a3ef No.5598

>>5593

Mkay I can go for that. Seems it really sucks to be a human princess in this world XD only one got out 'alive'.

Hm……Titans? Ice giants? Elderitches? TENTACLE MONSTERS?! :D

Cause there should be a tentacle princess….because tentacles are awesome and I like them XD

ef9ea8 No.5600

>>5593

Sounds intriguing. I will be looking forward to here what this 'much larger species' is. I also rather like that Ghost princess is… an actual princess of ghosts. Very good.

>>5598

There's a good mix of dark humour and lewdness to the game. I think that having both tends to make them stand out better.

… Also, good taste. I believe there's already Stygian Princess, mind, but having more slimy, deep-one like princess wouldn't be unpleasant in the slightest, haha!
