Is there any chance that I could try to adapt the TowerGirls into my own world? Like make a world solely based on this concept.

as far as I know it is open sourced. No one owns the rights to the game, just give credit to gats for the art is all

You'd have to do it in the same way people write Dungeons and Dragons modules- you can't sue someone or claim exclusive rights to it, because the concept of a d20 fantasy setting is free-range.
You could sell what you make, if it diverges enough to count as original content, but it would be like an expansion.
